Finally, I went to the establishment, and I liked its look and feel. The staff, while not overly friendly, acknowledged me. The bar was clean, and the drink and beer options were good. Some of the food items worth mentioning: the double Smash is solid and worthy if you want one of their more "plainer" burgers. The Defibrillator is really, really good! This burger is a lot of food, and unless you are under 25 and a glutton, I'd share this one. It is about 2/3 lbs of burger. The other part of the equation for this burger is that it has chicken fried bacon in it. Batter-fried bacon? Who'd have thunk? I didn't look, but if this is not on the appetizer menu, it should be. Cheese curds are solid and best eaten hot...of course The beer menu is OK. you will get a few stalwart craft breweries intermixed with your standard corporate beers.

We ended up sitting at the bar instead and our poor bartender was way too busy, while many of her colleagues were chatting, moving really slowly, etc. despite her asking them for help at least 4 times while we were there. Also, someone else helped us with our drinks, and he told us that they don't do samples of tap beers? I've never seen that before but that was incredibly lame, so we didn't get beer. The food was good, but it didn't blow us away. We enjoyed the gig pizza but it was super heavy, actually too much cheese and bedding to freshen it up. Cheese curds were super good ones, though the chimichurri way practically invisible in the aioli and needed much more. We'd give it another shot, but would be cautious in doing so.

I was driving through this time on my way to Chicago and stumbled upon Fork & Fable Crafthouse. Wow. Just wow. From the outside it was pretty unassuming and after walking through the outdoor seating area to go inside to the host stand, we opted to go back out and grab a table outside since it was beautiful. The inside of the restaurant looked a little like a sports bar from what I saw and the outdoor space was small, but had four nice tables with umbrellas. I wish I could remember our server's name because she was one of the managers for the front of house and was so friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive. These brussels sprouts were unlike any I have ever had. They were deliciously crispy, like I have had before, but these also came with grapes, candied pecans, whipped feta cheese topped with an olive oil and a hot maple drizzle. The Ahi tuna salad was pretty straightforward, but they elevated it with a seaweed salad on top of the greens and it came with a house made wasabi vinaigrette that packed such a delicious punch. My only regret was coming here for lunch on a road trip so I couldn't indulge on one of their craft cocktails because they sounded amazing. Before I left, I got to chat with the owners and they were great guys. It definitely reinforced the need to support local businesses like this that are doing it well. I appreciated the whole experience and I hope I get an opportunity to come back again soon.

They had some where's Waldo prints in each booth and some 80s trivia cards. The food itself was average. Nothing spectacular but decent. I had the pancakes with the yogurt. We stood at the front for about 10 minutes being passed by multiple people before someone finally decided to see us. The restaurant seems large, we didn't end up having any drinks, but it's nice to know they have a full bar menu if needed. Would we be back? Maybe. With so many other restaurants nearby I think I would continue exploring, but if you're looking for a simple basic breakfast, I think this is the spot to go.

Nothing I read in any of the low rated reviews turned out to be true, in fact it's the opposite. The whole place has new management for 2019 and they really know how to treat you well. A Chromatic Feast: The Warm Embrace of Sagra in La Crosse…read more To dine at Sagra in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is to be reminded that genuine culinary warmth can be found far from the traditional epicenters of Italian gastronomy. Guided by an exceptionally attentive and gracious staff, the experience unfolds with a well-paced rhythm that immediately puts the diner at ease. It is an establishment that clearly understands the intersection of great service and great food. The meal begins with a study in subtle elevation: olives presented with a gentle, deliberate warming. It is a small but vital touch that awakens their natural oils and briny depth, setting a welcoming tone for the table. The meatballs follow suit, boasting a robust, comforting heft. They are deeply hearty and undeniably tasty, anchored by a rustic authenticity that demands a proper piece of bread to chase the remaining sauce. However, the quiet star of the evening was a sweet potato dish that essentially stole the stage. It was a vibrant, chromatic triumph--an absolute masterclass in both visual palette and culinary palate. The kitchen managed to coax an astonishing spectrum of colorful flavors from the root vegetable, elevating a humble ingredient into something genuinely amazing. "Life is a combination of magic and pasta." -- Federico Fellini The pasta course, often the crucible by which an Italian kitchen is judged, was a remarkably pleasant affair. While it may not have possessed the sheer, surprising theater of the sweet potatoes, it remained a fundamentally nice, deeply satisfying plate of food that grounded the meal in tradition. Ultimately, Sagra delivers an unequivocally great dining experience. It is a restaurant that balances hearty comfort with vibrant execution, proving that a well-crafted Italian menu in the heart of Wisconsin is a journey well worth taking.
