Very impressed with the Prime Rib sandwich I had last night. Prime rib was seasoned perfect and whatever kind of bread they had it on made it even better. I had a side of chili and it had a little tang to it that I couldn't quite place, but it was excellent. My wife had batterfried fish and she enjoyed it very much. We tried the Pigs Ears appetizer and somehow I was pleasantly surprised and how tasty they were. Although once is enough for me. I'll stick to the boneless chicken wings. They were fresh and came with a great Parmesan Ranch sauce. Would have liked more of the sauce, so I may recommend getting a little bit on the side. We will definitely be back. read more

My wife, daughters and I stopped in here on a Sunday for a late lunch. Unbeknownst to us, we were just in time for a matinee BINGO sesh! For a dollar a game we were treated to the exhilaration that only Sunday-afternoon gambling can possibly provide. We didn't win this time but I have a good feeling we'll be back with some better luck in the future. When we return, we will stick to the beers and appetizers. The cheese curds and fries were excellent. My wife's assessment of the fish tacos was, "good" and my daughters liked the mini corn dog meal. I had the steak wrap and didn't especially enjoy it. Really good food. Nice clean place. Super friendly staff who really care about their customers. So far i've had the bbq pork sandwich and the fish tacos. Both are great choices! I'm trying the burgers next time. They looked HUGE and appear to be freshly hand made. They have a small variety of beers, and a couple good ones on tap. I would give 5 stars if the craft beer selection was a bit better. Overall, I really like this place and look forward to eating here again. read more

Wonderful place! We were headed for Rocky's for Prime Rib, but they were closed for family wedding. Got on Yelp and found Timmers! Glad we did! Great food! My friend had Prime rib and he said it was good, pricey, but good. Our waitress was wonderful. Food came fast. Salad bar was adequate and asparagus soup was wonderful. I had fish tacos and they were great! Nice place to eat! Tried a new beer. DTB Pearl Brewery. Excellent! We will go back! read more

Timmers brings back a great place to be to the south side of La Crosse. Stop in and try their food, they really have stepped up the game and brought a fresh look to a roadside bar and grill. All of the meats are fresh from a local meat market and cooked to your specs. The staff is friendly, even when they are busy. They have the good sense to make sure each customer is having a great time. The place has been remodeled and has a great open seating concept, where no matter how many people are in the place it isn't packed. It is very clean as well! Stopped on our way home from the shop for some lunch and a drink. I had the Cajun steak wrap, which was nothing like you'd expect at a bar/restaurant. Lots of steak, not overly full of lettuce like you'll usually find, and great flavor between the Cajun seasoned steak and the other ingredients. Have been to Timmer's a couple of times and the food was good. Heard the Friday fish fry was pretty good so took some out of town friends there last Friday night. Couldn't believe that on Friday and Saturday nights they RAISE the price of their fish dinners $2.00. That put us off immediately, so we ordered the bucket of fish. Salad bar was an EXTRA $4, so we went with the mediocre coleslaw. I asked for bread and the waitress said there was none! How much extra in food costs does this cost for the restaurant? About 15 cents? Wow. Again the fish was good, and we certainly could have afforded the extra, but this was not a way to endear new customers and we certainly won't be going back. I have since mentioned this to many friends and neighbors and they and they agreed with my assessment. read more

Not good! Really disappointed in this place. Yelp rarely steers me wrong, but it certainly did with Timmers. I have no idea why there were so many high reviews. The only reason I would consider giving it anything above one star is because the service was friendly and the food was, technically, edible. That's as nice as I can be about this restaurant, if you can call it that. Be aware, this is definitely "bar food" and poorly done bar food at that. Everything was low quality and overcooked or screwed up in some other way. My chili dog was served with a burnt hot dog and and a stale, burnt bun, and the waitress handed it to me like there was nothing wrong with it. For the price, I expected a thick frankfurter or at least a really high quality dog, but I was wrong on both guesses. The fried cheese curds were the worst I've ever had, and my buddy didn't eat all of his burger because it wasn't any good. If you just want a place to hang out and have a beer, this might be a decent place, but if you're looking for a decent meal - look elsewhere and your taste buds will thank you! read more

Food is excellent. We have tried the fish tacos, pizza, pulled pork sandwich, wings, and cheese curds. Not all on the same visit of course. The insides are nice and open. Service was good. The review from the Indiana person is so off base. Absolutely a great meal and only one complaint . . . I made too big of a pig of myself with the salad bar that half the meal went home where it was WONDERFUL all over again! We'll be back soon! Congratulations to the owners for such a great experience.
