The service is always incredible and the servers treat you like Friends. For breakfast I made my own omelette and it came with pancakes and hash browns. First visit to this restaurant that has a nice lake view and ample parking. Very crowded on a holiday weekend but food arrived quickly and the waitstaff was fairly attentive. Cinnamon rolls and coffee were fresh and delicious and my green eggs and ham were a bit greasy and weird but creative. Fun place to experience Wisconsin bar scene. read more

Over all excellent. No real complaints. We had a group of 7 of us and stopped after a gymnastics meet in town so it was fairly busy. I had the bomb burger and although it was super messy it was amazing. I don't order burgers at places very often and was glad I did. They have quit a few other things I would have loved to try. Too bad they aren't closer. for how busy they were I'm surprised how quickly the food came. Prices I felt were reasonable. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food they picked. Would definitely come back if we were in the area. Plus the view is pretty from the windows. read more

My mom and I stopped for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. We seated ourselves. I ordered the Southwest Fajita wrap with fries. I would have skipped the fries had I known how big the wrap was. It was amazing. Veggies were fresh and the light spice was delicious. My mom ordered the citrus salmon. She said it was also delicious. The wait staff was prompt and polite. While I have had good food in the past at this restaurant, today I ordered the Monte Cristo for pickup/to go. Both the French toast and hash browns we significantly overcooked. The French toast was eggy and wet and the hash browns had nearly no color and were soggy/oily. The only part that was cooked was the ham inside the sandwich. So disappointing in comparison with my past experiences there. I hope this isn't a new trend. read more

We were hoping for a good breakfast brunch place, but this place didn't have a lot of breakfast items. Food was good though, just not a lot of items to choose from. I guess it wasn't really a brunch place but a regular restaurant. Size of the restaurant was okay, felt a bit cramped, but was manageable. This is a lovely little what I would call an upscale diner. The restaurant is located on what the locals told me was Lake Onalaska. Just a lovely site looking over the water and with an excellent view of the bluffs. For lunch today I chose the peppered pulled pork sandwich. This was barbecued pulled pork, coleslaw, candied bacon, and pepper Jack cheese on a hoagie. I really enjoyed this sandwich. The crunch from the toasted roll and coleslaw was really good. The French fries had a great crunch and the perfect amount of seasoning. The only downside was that any time you put coleslaw on a sandwich, it gets a little messy. A very enjoyable lunch. The restaurant itself had a very inviting atmosphere. Lots of light to balance the darker wood. Our server was very friendly. I did not feel we had to wait for anything. Enjoy!! read more

We have been yearly regulars on our annual fishing trip..I dont know what has happened but the quality has deteriorated. 2:30 on a Saturday very few customers..Told we dont have soup today, we dont have any iced tea, waitress disappeared during service and we got a frantic replacement, Took 30 mins to get 2 beers and our jalepenos bombs, my salad came before both, no water provided no plates for the appetizer, my roll was fresh from the refrigerator..my husbands burger was cold and completely red throughout. Four of us met for breakfast Sunday about 10, the place was already pretty full. Food and service were good. Thanks to the manager who was standing nearby when one gal made a comment about a "basted egg" he piped up to tell us it was like over easy but put on the grill then a pan cover placed over top of it while it cooked. All of us enjoyed our meals. I liked the used of piped and plumbing pieces to make light fixtures throughout the restaurant. It was a little warm out for us but they offer deck seating w lake views! It can be a small parking lot if it's peak time so you may have to park on the street. The only downside of our experience was it got pretty loud in there since it was so busy. This place was absolutely magnificent! I could not find one single knock for this restaurant. I went with a large group of friends, we were seated within minutes. The place was extremely busy! We had a nice table, that had a scenic view of the Mississippi River. We ordered bloody Mary's, delicious. I ordered steak, toast, eggs, and a waffle. It was some of the best breakfast food that I've had. Everybody in our party was more than satisfied. Our waitress was extremely attentive and professional. I highly recommend this business, it would be a challenge to find a breakfast place better. read more

This was our 2nd visit. Our first was with a larger group last winter, but we all enjoyed it. Today's visit.....meh. My family's order came out before mine. The waitress said it was because they were making my bacon crispy (as I requested when I ordered). Mine came out about 10 mins later, very hot. But my eggs and bacon were not cooked as I ordered (egg was under done, bacon was regular cooked). It seemed as if they just forgot to make mine and slapped it together when my family's order was picked up. I didn't want to complain and drag this out even longer, everyone else was already half done with their food by the time mine even came out to begin with. Had it come out as I ordered, I'd have understood. But it wasn't. With all of the other options in the area, we probably won't be back any time soon. read more

Came here while visiting a friend in town. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful river view. I had the alcoholic lemonade which tasted refreshing. The southwest salad was large and packed with delicious ingredients (chicken, beans, corn and cheese). The side toast was amazing! At the table, we also had the chicken fried chicken which was. Dry taste with good size portions. The pork sandwich was huge with good flavor but the bread was a little hard. The entrees came with a side (fries, waffle fries or onion rings). Moved to the area a year ago. The Blue Moon is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the La Crosse area. We've been here more often than any other restaurant. Breakfast is fantastic. They know how to cook a basted egg. I'm usually a sausage patty girl, but the sausage links are the things that dream are made of. Well seasoned and sagey. The food is super affordable too. Medium bloody marys are the bomb!!! Everything is super affordable too. You need to get the mimosa flight! If you love pork, you'll love the Blue Moon. Excellent pork tacos! Highly recommend! My favorite thing is the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. Man I crave that sandwich. It's super, duper messy, so don't order on a date but those flavors!!! Atmosphere, could have been better, staff was not friendly. No one greeted us when we came in. it was like 10* outside and you had ceiling fans on high blowing cold air. Ordered a drink and it was not made correctly. Was so tart off flavored that was un drinkable. Now for the menu, you used to have a better menu and selection. You took over an amazing restaurant and have become a dive joint, that is a last minute thought for most places because you have no signature dishes on your menu. Been here before, and it was okay. But went there for dinner with some guests. To get our drinks to our table took 20 minutes for two glasses of wine and a beer. Dinner to our table took over an hour, and the place was nearly empty. There was a 30 minute time span that we didn't see our waitress. Baked potatoes were barely warm, and they were out of mashed potatoes. Um... if you have baked potatoes, you can make mashed potatoes. Two of our members got fish, but had to wait for the waitress to come back to ask for sauce. Refills for drinks? Nope. I don't know what happened to the Blue Moon, but it's not good. read more

We sat at the bar. Service was great. Breakfast was great. Great ambiance and view overlooking Lake Onalaska. The only thing that was under whelming was the bloody mary. The bartender asked if we wanted them mild medium or spicy. Bonus points to the bartender. She upgraded me to a full pint packer. Bonus points. The bloody just did not have a lot of flavor to it. It's a diner yes but it's everything inside the diner that makes it a regular stop. We ordered lots of food at breakfast and ate every bite! My eggs were scrambled to perfection...not dry and not runny. The sausage patty is my favorite and the pancakes were the right size and tasted fluffy and perfectly cooked. The service was excellent. Our server was quick, efficient and made us feel like we were friends! The diner experience is present from the moment you arrive in the parking lot. there were 8 of us for dinner Saturday night.several of our group had the prime rib special. it was honestly the worst prime rib I've ever eaten. it was very tough, difficult to cut with a knife and more difficult to chew and there just wasn't any flavor at all. most went home to the dog. my wife had the fried cod, which she enjoyed but both of us didn't get our salad until we'll after the entree was served.
