I helped my sister and her boyfriend pack up in Brookfield to move to Boston together (sinners!). This was my thank you dinner, chosen from the limited options in Brookfield. Maggie McFly's is a little like the Cheesecake Factory in that they throw together a little bit of everything (meatballs and dim sum? why not!). You know it's not going to be gourmet so you're just looking for a solid meal. In that, they delivered. We split the coconut shrimp (a little heavy on breading but otherwise good) and wings (dry, but flavorful). For my entree, I had a turkey burger, which was one of the better ones I've had. On the burger menu, they have cheeseburgers for $10, and "Kobe Burgers" for $13. You are not getting Kobe ("American" or otherwise) for just a few more dollars if it's real/quality. So, I was worried about meat shenanigans when I ordered. But the turkey burger was, dare I say it, excellent. For dessert, I got a Caramel Apple Granny, which was basically a mushy apple pie covered in caramel. So-so, and not worth the caloric effort. Definitely a solid choice if you are in the area and want lots of food options. Several reviewers said it was expensive. Maybe it is for the area, but I didn't notice since I'm used to NYC. 3.5 stars. Take out service here made me really happy! Ordering on the phone couldn't have been easier and the girl was super friendly, thorough, and read the order back to me. Even more impressive was how the food was packaged. The menu is huge and almost every item comes with lots of yummy sides and sauces. Everything was so nicely labeled so I didn't confuse the marinara sauce for the salsa and things like that and more importantly nothing was missing which happens to me way too frequently. The food- I looooved my burger. I forget the name but it had bacon, egg, and a chipotle mayo and was delicious. My nachos were also good. I took away half a star because some of the food was bland. The Mac and cheese bites which are a huge guilty pleasure of mine weren't cheesy enough and the spinach artichoke dip was liquidy, lacked flavor and needed some Parmesan cheese in there too.. Omg! So first of all this was our first time here and it did not disappoint! All seating here are booths. Loved the red booths. Servers were very friendly and quick. Food was AMAZING! I got the spinach and artichoke dip which is huge cake with veggies to dip garlic bread and home made potato chips-YUMM! My husband got a California roll which I've never seen done this way. Check out my pic. He loved it! We ordered burgers for me and my son- cooked to order perfectly and tasted phenomenally. My husband got a chicken and pasta dish with a sauce that was to die for. Smore dessert made by us at the table was the best way to end an awesome lunch. Top notch all around Ave we will def be back. Ran into our in laws neighbors on the way out. This place has a lot going for it. A huge menu, nice atmosphere, plenty of seating, good location, ok bar and nice staff. The only reason I give it 3 is that although I've never had a bad meal here I can't remember ever raving about anything afterwords either. The menu is seriously large, so if you have a large group and no one can come to a compromise on where to go this place should be top of the list. From pizza and pasta to burgers and tacos or American favorites like pot roast. Prices seem very fair and most portions are on the large size. read more

Maggie's is usually on the list of places to stop for a drink and appetizer with a friend. Last time I went they said they didn't carry the brand of vodka anymore that I usually get there and their margaritas tasted like they were made from a bottled mix. We got a few appetizers. The beef skewers were cold and the dipping sauce was tasteless. The french onion soup was gross. Way too salty and I'm sorry but where were the onions?! The only good part about that evening was the Thai lettuce wraps. I probably won't be returning to Maggie's anytime soon. read more

Drunken chicken strips are always awesome but the tacos, not so much. The cabbage is a great crunch but their meat seasonings were overpowered by spice and hot peppers when the menu said sweet. They remade them for me but honestly not impressed. read more

This place has a huge menu that gives lots of options for all diets out there (and it's pretty good). The drink menu is vast and offers a lot of fun cocktails to choose from. My husband and I always get the street tacos and pot stickers. Both always well prepared. We will continue to come back as long as those are on the menu. The service is normally good. I must note that we've noticed food /trash on the floor and the wait staff stepped over it instead of cleaning it up. That was a huge turn off for me but the food makes up for it. read more

Since there has to be at least one star.........if I could rate 1/2 a star, I would. Granted, I was at least hopefully for something edible....okay there's the a smig of a star earned, the hamburger was edible...only hardly, especially after what I experienced. The other majority of the star is for the delicious Napa Valley Markham SB---which was made from Californian grapes---the sun, the soil, the farmer, and the varietal does that, not Maggie McFly. I work in a restaurant, 5 nights a week, 4 weeks a month, 52 weeks a year! Not like that means anything to anyone but me---yet it does mean I have a keen sense of what good service in a good restaurant IS and what it IS NOT. As far as first impressions go, I walk into the restroom, there is a female employee in there getting ready for her night after her shift. That's cool except she had her stuff, dirty work shoes (with money stuffed into one), her work clothes, and all her shit on the baby changing table, strewn, in plain sight of guests using the same facilities.......she launched her excuse because she must have seen my expression, "I'm getting ready, I just got off." Ya think? I said, as I motioned at all the stuff, "Yes, I see, and this is inappropriate." She frumped as I walked out. (Um, ever heard of an employee restroom or workroom?) Met my company at our table and sat there a full 10 minutes without any acknowledgement. I saw employees of this restaurant applying lipgloss, laughing, hanging out with each other------most importantly, ignoring their guests, well, thirsty-hungry me. I got up and asked one of the young ladies if she were "our server." She said, "yes." I asked her for some of her attention. (worse question ever---"who's my server?") I know, I know---not a great way to embark on a customer-server experience and still, I was miffed. (What I know is that if I were too busy to attend to them, I'd at least go over to the table and let them know that I would be over to them and give them my undivided attention just as soon as possible. Seems like the polite thing to do.) I wonder, spit in my food, that extra loving? Good thing I take my vitamins for instances just as these. I digress. We also had the seared ahi tuna tartare....I was looking for something less fat ladened and what I got looked like dyed kinda-something-like-quasi tuna-esque stuff...a heavy cinnamon taste I attribute to the "crust." It was gross. As if a glutton for punishment, we ordered the Granny Apple dessert...my company asked if it could be heated, "it is," replied the server (a girl that was also behind the bar with short black hair). And yet, somehow this dessert which was nothing more than some doughy apple clump of YUK that came out cold and yes, gross. I know this all sounds harsh, and I guess it is, but not because I am such a hard person to please...it's more like I work hard at what I do, and to be not attended to, seem like an inconvenience rather than a 20% tipper and not a guest of Maggie McFly's---------"F" this place and you people with jobs in the restaurant industry remember, it is a craft as well as a good way to make money (cuz in Maggie McFly's you sure are spending money, it's not cheap here) and you work for someone who this is their livelihood, respect that. In times like these....it's good to have a job, value that. The nice thing is....even though I was discerning and somewhat b*tchy, the server remained somewhat pleasant, sort of. I've been here on numerous occasions. I enjoy the patio as inside is as noisy as the meeting house in bethel. The beer is always good. I had the nachos and to my amazement they had layered it with Velveeta. Are you kidding me?? I know getting the cheese to melt down deep into the chips is an art, but to be lazy and use Velveeta and think it's OK...cmon now....I won't be having the nachos again. It was a smaller plate too. Maggie McFly's Middlebury location was always my favorite place. Went to Brookfield last night.. absolutely TERRIBLE! My fiancé never complains, & will never go back there. Service was absolutely horrible. Server was extremely lazy (couldn't even find her for a long time & didn't check on us).. & she had a huge attitude. Fish n Chips were horrible.. so when someone finally came over (which ended up being a manager), we sent it back. We ordered a salad because manager said it would be really quick.. well, it took FOREVER. I was finished eating well before the salad came out, so we were just sitting there waiting & waiting. We were just getting up to walk out, when it came.. so we had to take it to go at that point. Then, we were still charged for the meal after this horrible experience. read more

Tonight I had the pleasure of dining with my family for an amazing outdoor dinner. Our waitress Lauren was incredibly attentive and helpful with the menu choices. Employees get rowdy and drink a lot after their shift at the bar. You can hear them from the bathrooms. Shot after shot after shot screaming "shots! shots! shots!". I recommend going to this place before all the employees get off and start drinking. It happens pretty much every weekend I go. It would be a nice place otherwise. Food is good. read more

The staff at Brookfield is clueless, it took 25 minutes to get a drink and almost an hour to get a few late night bites. The order was also screwed up. The bartender was clueless and couldn't handle the few patrons at the bar. It's been a while since I've been here and I must say it's gone down hill. My buddy that was with me is a chef and agreed management is absent and food was under par. I would pick 189 over Maggie's any day. I had the jambalaya which was a breaded chicken cutlet with a few pieces of Italian sausage with fennel and one shrimp. I would have sent it back but it would have taken forever to get a burger. Maggie's is always my go to place whenever I can't decide what I feel like eating. The menu is massive and there are all kinds of dishes to eat. Want Asian, you got it! Want Italian, you got it! I can get spring rolls while my fiancé gets calamari. The drinks and dessert are also really yummy. With all that being said I've never had a meal there and thought wow this is the best meal I've ever had but the food is always solid and the prices are reasonable. This place is ok if you have the palate of a 5 year-old. If you're lucky enough to get what you order, you'll find the food is mediocre at best. I have unfortunately been here a few times as the menu is extensive and seems to be a crowd pleaser when everyone wants something different, but this should be a red flag. You can't do everything well. You're better off at a local diner. I had the ahi tuna salad which I had ordered before and it was ok, this time it was terrible and totally different. Went to Maggie's in Brookfield twice last week. Chose the executive lunch ; had soup, salad and iced tea. Just enough and at a good price. Onion soup and Caesar salad the first time and clam chowder and Caesar salad the second time. Good service. Looking forward to going back. Wow! I am really impressed with this restaurant! It is part of a mall in Connecticut. We went here visiting family, and it is conveniently located in the same mall as our hotel. MENU IS HUGE! There must've been over 300 adult entrees- I'm not exaggerating! We had a party of 16. The food came relatively quickly (about a 1/2 hour) which I thought was good for that amount of people. Food was applebees-like, but a little more personalized. There is also a little stand to buy desserts on the way out. Bathrooms were very clean and newly renovated. Only downside was that it was very hot in there, but they did turn up the air when we asked. Overall, great experience! This is a great place to go with friends and family! read more

My sister and I have ate here the past two weeks, food was great and consistent every time, the service on the other hand was atrocious on both occasions. We stood near the hostess stand for about three minutes before anyone greeted us or said hello but could see the waitstaff meandering around. Both times eating here were during lunch around 2:30 and the restaurant was not packed whatsoever . Our second dining experience I had complained to a manager who simply apologized and said have a nice day. Will probably not return to this establishment again, awful service and poor management . I order pizza out sometimes and will get an extra box which I just pop into the freezer and heat up at a later time in the oven when I want some gluten free cheesy goodness. If they sold gluten free pizza dough that would get them the last fifth star! Maggie's has a large menu, with many delicious choices, and is therefore our "go-to" place for dinner and/or drinks. My absolute favorite meal is Louisiana Chicken which is served over pasta and is a HUGE portion - I generally eat 2-3 times off the one meal. But the best part of visiting Maggie's is the friendly, efficient service. We usually sit at the bar when we come in, and are always greeted promptly and courteously, even when the bar is crowded. We've come to enjoy sitting at the bar versus a table because quite frankly the service is better and faster at the bar. Mallory, Cece, and Tom are the bartenders we see most frequently and they are the primary reason we keep coming back. read more

Disappointing experience. With my 14 yr old for a date. Told had to sit outside cause they were full. A bit chilly. Ordered one appetizer and dinner. Ordered appetizer at 630. Came out at 7. Asked to go in as we were freezing. We're seated inside and dinner came at 722 (hamburger and club sandwich). Fries were only warm. Didn't get condiments with burger. Asked three different servers. Went to kitchen myself. Finally got condiments but burger no longer hot. Totally disorganized service multiple servers come to table and really loud. While no one would check on us during our dining experience they were quick and attentive on bringing the bill and asking for the credit card. I will continue to go to the one in Southbury but won't come back here nor would I recommend it. I gave 2 stars as the food was okay just cold. read more
