Been going to see Maggie for years. She does great work and I would recommend to anyone. The dry cleaning is quite expensive however I don't really know what it is compared to other places. Maggie tailored a gown for me a few years ago. It had beading that was tricky but the end result was perfect! Maggie is also very personable and does her best to remember her customers, which I think is definitely is an asset to her business. I don't know what some of these peoples problems are with this place (other than veiled racism) but taking a wedding dress in to be fitted 7 months out is idiotic, regardless of how secure you are in your sizing. Anyway, I've never had a problem here whatsoever. They aren't all warm and fuzzy, but I'm paying for competence, not smiles, and competent they assuredly are. They got out decade old blood stains out of a ball hockey jersey and have an average turnaround of 2-3 days, even during the holidays and wedding season. I can't recommend them enough. When we move, we will most certainly still be taking our clothes in here for dry cleaning and alterations. read more

I hate having to get clothing hemmed, stitched or cleaned - I do everything in my power to avoid it until the very last moment possible. But when I can't procrastinate any longer, I head out to see Maggie. What a great little business! I'm very grateful to have found someone to do the things I can't stand doing, with a smile on her face. I've always been more than satisfied with everything I've had done at Maggie M's and it's always been done quickly. Being the procrastinator that I am, I dropped something off to be altered on a Friday morning (something that I was planning on taking with me to Las Vegas that night), went to work for the day, picked it up on my way home from work, and headed off to see the bright lights. I've had some not so pleasant experiences with other tailors, but I trust Maggie and her staff with everything. Oooooh NOT GOOD ! I have been taking my alterations here for about three years - MAGGIE is about the ONLY one who is nice. I shudder when I see the two other women who work for her there. They are just plain RUDE. I took in two pair of jeans for hemming - per usual. I came home and tried them on BIG MISTAKE....they were WAY too LONG ! Try completed alterations on BEFORE you leave this place ! They were way too long to even wear. So I too them back for a re-do. The one IGNORANT worker says "no problem" gives me a receipt with NO CHARGE written on it so I go to pick them up - keep in mind I've ALREADY PAID THEM for both pairs previously. The IGNORANT HAG at the cash register goes it 18 dollars ! I said "I ALREADY PAID FOR THIS !" Well she looks around and said "ALL I can do is take six dollars off" WHILE having a firm grip on the jeans (I guess I am not the first angry customer obviously!) I paid the 12 dollars and said "You will NOT see me here again ! You do poor work AND rip people OFF !" I thought the guy next to me was going to run out of the place ! I decided to take my wedding dress to Maggie after reading some reviews on here about her. She was unprofessional on the phone but I've had that problem before. Some people don't communicate very well over the phone so I decided to go in and see her anyways. I waited 15min before I was even able to speak to someone. After I did Maggie had a huge problem with the fact that my wedding is 7 months away. I reassured her that I've been the same size for 5 years at least and I doubt I'll change much in the next 7 months. So after she spoke to her employee in their language (in front of me) for a few minutes I was asked to change. My dress is very big on me so I waited for Maggie to come to me. I waited 20 minutes in the changing room before she came in and even looked at it. The changing room by the way had a hole in the wall that was covered up with tape. After she looked at it, walked away, came back, walked away and continued to do this for another 15 minutes or so she pinned the dress and asked me to take it off. I took it off and hung it up and waited. I waited another 10 minutes or so for her to come back and look at it. She looked at it and walked away again. I started to pack up my dress because I wasn't very happy by this point. When she did finally come back she said she wouldn't do it because "it is too much work." If she didn't want to do my alterations then fine but please don't waist my time. It was very unprofessional. read more

I went here for the first time this last week, and was pleasantly greeted with friendly service and a welcoming feel. The items dry cleaned and tailored were done professionally and timely. I will definitely come back. A nice home-town feel and it appears that they have been in business for years, as there were many familiar customers that came in with small chat while I was there. I have been bringing clothes to Maggie for tailoring for over a year now. I look at my clothing not only as an investment but also as a direct reflection of what I present to the world. I'm going to be honest: I have a body which says I have to tailor everything. Sloped shoulder, small waist, and a runners thighs :) Maggie tackles them all. Through taffeta and sequins, pleats, tucks, hems and zippers. I trust her with it all and recommend her to all. (As an aside: she was able to turn a gown around for me in one day and most recently, called me on a Sunday -the shop is typically closed- to say she would meet me at the shop to try on a jumpsuit I needed for that Wednesday). TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE(MY 1ST TIME WILL BE MY LAST) overpriced.terrible work,and terrible customer service(very rude and ignorant attitude) i brought a light track type jacket in that just needed new elastic in each wrist area and waisband(so pretty simple work),for this i was charged 60 dollars which i thought was high but needed it done so i went ahead with it.i put it on for sizing and stood around for 15 minutes while she ignores me.i catch here attention and try to explain what i want done and she just ignores me and walks away.finally another girl comes out to measure it.i eventually get it measured and try asking the main women something on what would be done and to confirm the sizing and while im asking this she turns her back and walks away to look through the clothing they have hanging for pickup,as her back is to me (she hassnt even answered my question or shown me what will be done) but is saying to be sure the size is right as once its done they will charge extra to re do it(to fix their own mistake????)i have never heard of this before from a tailor and im ready to just leave but again needed it done so foolishly decided to go ahead with it.after i change i again try to confirm with the main women how this will be done and sizing but she just keeps confirming with me in a very ignorant way that if at pick up its not right that they will charge more to change it.so when i go to pick it up im thinking i wont even try it on as im not going to pay even more for the luxury of doing business with this ignorant person.i do opt to try it on one wrist is tighter than the other,rather than have to deal with her further i just pay and get out of there as quick as possible....i guarantee though that 60 dollars will be the only money this ignorant crook will get out of me....NEVER AGAIN read more

I have done business in the past with Maggie M. having pants hemmed and been well-pleased. So, I brought several items for tailoring and picked them up today. I spent over $160.00 and found the most expensive item had damage from an iron that melted the fabric. I was not wearing my reading glasses when I picked up my garments, so I thought it was just a wrinkle. Under closer inspection, I found it to be a obvious 5 inch melt mark in the front of the jacket! The suit was brand new, I had never worn it and I know for a fact it was in perfect condition when I tried it on and Maggie pinned it. When I came back later in the day to speak to her about it, she refused to take responsibility for the mistake and insisted that the mark was already there when I brought it in. I am so disappointed that she wouldn't admit to what happened. I plan to file a small claims suit to recover the value of my ruined suit, the expense of the tailoring, and court costs. I paid $70.00 for fitting a jacket, and they ruined my garment! BEWARE! read more

I came in for one very simple alteration and had to go back 3 times to get it right. The owner, Maggie, was very busy each time I came in and never took the proper time to deal with me. There was always two or three people waiting at the entrance while I was standing there being measured - everyone listening in and watching - no privacy at all. She speaks very fast and with a strong accent so you can't communicate easily with her which is frustrating. Plus she was trying to come up with all sorts of reasons why she wasn't able to do a proper job - I got the wrong size suit, my shirt sleeves weren't long enough etc etc. I felt she was quite impatient and disrespectful. This tailor was recommended to me by a person who works at the menswear department at the Bay but this lady admitted to me that she had never actually met Maggie - who knows what the connection is between the two of them. It was so disappointing and frustrating dealing with this company. read more
