Date with hubby. Recommended getting sat by the big picture windows but you are limited to only one set of menus, not able to order from the bar menu. The seating is beautiful but couch-side is a bit low compared to the table height. Service was quick and prompt. The chicken piccata and ragu came out fresh and hot. We shared a Caesar salad as well. All decent dishes. The cockatiel menu had some interesting mixes but we opted out. Overall, a lovely picturesque spot to have a meal. I can see a large party happening here since the interior is so well-done. The restrooms are nicely decorated and quite stylish too.

The food was great. The restaurant was quaint and nicely decorated. Part of downtown Redlands row of restaurants. We were a large group, the server was attentive and fast. We were in a back room and for our large group and it was very nice.

Tomato Bisque soup and Turkey Sandwich.

Every time I have been to Madri for lunch, dinner, or just a drink it has been a wonderful experience. Food is 5 stars, cost and taste. New tomato bisque is incredibly delicious and has something special I have never had in a bisque. Check it out you won't be disappointed, unless you don't like tomatoes. After eating it yesterday for lunch, I went back today and ordered it to go for dinner. Ambiance is perfect. Lunch music is spot on. The main bartender, Anthony, is knowledgeable, right there when you need to order or ask a question about the different Pinot's to where can I get those water glasses you have. One of the best bartenders I have encountered. This is a great place to eat lunch, they have just added a happy hour menu, food and service are great, do yourself a favor and enjoy a great meal at Madri.

Loved this place. It's very elegant. Great for date nights. We are here around 4:30pm on a Monday. Not busy at all. Our waiter was very friendly and gave recommendations when asked. I loved my food and drink option. The Dolce Agave tasted like a sweet lime drink. My Penne Vodka al Fungi was very savory with excellent flavor. I loved the mushrooms in them. I was very pleased with our experience here. The focaccia bread was a nice touch. The prices are reasonable here. Dolce Agave "Sweet Agave" Mocktail: 4.5/5 Focaccia: 4/5 Penne Vodka al Fungi: 4.5/5 (one of the best pastas I've had) Garlic Cheese Bread: 4.5/5 Spaghetti al Pomodoro: 4/5 (good, lacking some flavor) Penne al Gorgonzola 4.5/5 (also one of the best pastas I've had, loved the pine nuts)

We came in on a Thursday night to check out Madri and were genuinely pleasantly surprised--especially by the remodel. The space now feels like an upscale Italian sports-bar-meets-farmhouse vibe, and it really works for downtown Redlands. We were seated right away just before the dinner rush, and the hostess kindly accommodated our request to sit along the wall. It ended up being the perfect spot because we could see the entire restaurant and all of the TVs behind the bar. The bar area is especially pretty--modern,and inviting without feeling chaotic. The TVs were playing a mix of sports, Nickelodeon, and even a movie channel. We started with the bruschetta and I loved that the tomatoes were served on the side so the crostini didn't get soggy--such a thoughtful touch. My husband ordered the mushroom risotto and the flavor was spectacular--rich and comforting. I had the lasagna, which wasn't overhyped but was still very enjoyable. They offer a small but solid selection of wine and beer, plus cocktails. The space can accommodate both small and large parties, and the service was incredible from start to finish. Overall, the experience was very pleasant, and Madri feels like a great new option for a casual dinner that still feels a little elevated.

We had a lovely dinner here last night. My husband and I love going to the restaurants in Redlands and this will be a very nice addition to our list. The place is cute, food was delicious and portions were great. The host was very nice on the phone and also on the way out. We are glad to have an Italian restaurant to go to on date night.

Went here for a date night and there wasn't a wait. We're seated in the bar area. Had a nice vibe. We ordered the bruschetta and the calamari. These were pretty average. We also ordered the meatballs and the mushroom risotto. Ok so I think they forgot about our food. The food came out about 35 mins later and was cold as hell. The mushrooms were maybe oyster mushrooms and they were so tough and connected all at the base. You couldn't cut them apart. It a was like a whole mushroom bush! We didn't complain and ate around the mushroom tree and just ate the outside of the meatball, then left. I think this place is cute and hope our time was a fluke, but we won't be back. Sadly.

Went for my mom's bday. It was good, but a bit pricey, but honestly what isn't in DTR anymore. Especially right there. The service was good, our waiter was patient and nice, however, his "personality" wouldn't fit everyone, some would find him "too direct." The food was good, but as I said, some was very overpriced for what it was. We all kind of got something different and just shared with each other. The ambiance is cool. I remember when this place used to be Romano's Chicago pizza, it was dark then & it still is now, unless you sit at the bar & they have the windows open.

Honey goat cheese dip- super good

Really great lunch! The honey goat cheese dip was yummy! Maybe two more pieces of bread would have been nice but it was fantastic. I loved the Italian sandwich and chips they served with it. they were warm and super fresh! The service was friendly and attentive and the restaurant and bathroom were clean. It's a comfortable dim vibe and very happy with our choice to try here today!!!!

It was a very busy night... World Series Dodger game... I don't think they were expecting so many people.... The place filled up... We had a couple of issues with our order... Cesar salads were old... didn't receive drinks until we were almost finished... my son ordered the steak dinner.. the steak was tough... our server was buried.... We had a stack of plates on our table that never got picked up..... we weee celebrating a special birthday.. my 13 yr old granddaughter... the server dropped off some vanilla ice cream.. no candle... nothing... ‍ The decor is really nice....

Linguine alla Carbonara (pancetta, Parmesan cheese, onions and cracked black pepper in a carbonara sauce) added shrimp to this

This cute little restaurant is easy to find if you're walking along Orange Street. My only negative is parking can be rather hard to find. My girlfriend and I decided to have lunch here and I'm glad she chose this place. We were greeted right away and shown to our table as we made reservations. The menu is pretty self explanatory as each dish explains what's in it. We ordered the goat cheese and honey dip to start off with. OMG, the dip was so delicious. We each ordered a pasta and shared. We ordered the penned vodka al fungi and linguine alla carbonara with shrimp. Both pasta dishes were delicious also. Both very filling and flavorful. Definitely a place I would like to come back to and try their other dishes and they look and sound delicious.

Spinachi Pizza

My group of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) stopped by this restaurant to have Italian food for dinner after spending the day at the Live Oak farm for the Halloween/Fall Festival activities. We had high hopes/expectations for this restaurant since the reviews for place were quite positive. The biggest positive was our experience with our server. She was very attentive the entire time we were there, but the food itself was mediocre at best. We started off with the calamari appetizer, but it wasn't that great. The calamari inside didn't taste fresh and had a very fishy odor that is not typical for higher quality calamari appetizers. The pasta was alright because the sauce was tasty, but our penne was definitely overcooked and lacked that al dente texture from a higher quality Italian restaurant. In fact, my party semi-joked that it tasted like pasta from Olive Garden. The next disappointment was the pizza (both pizzas). The sauce and cheese were alright, but the crust was downright tough to eat. I likened it toasted cardboard because it was quite hard and dry. My wife mentioned it was similar to eating frozen pizza that was microwaved. My group visited New York for a week back in the spring this year, so we do acknowledge that our standards for good Italian food have risen significantly, but I think this restaurant was a genuine disappointment overall. We will not be coming back here anytime soon.

It's a perfect place for a date or a night out with friends or family. The focal point of the main dining room is the bar, which faces the restaurant's entrance. Meticulously designed with a nostalgic feel, the bar features blonde wood shelves holding hundreds of vinyl records, carefully curated design objects, and a DJ booth neatly tucked into a corner next to the bar. The beer taps are elegantly minimalist, and every detail in the bar--for example, the old-fashioned glass syrup bottles--seems planned to give a nod to history (specifically the late 19th century, when Redlands was founded). The main dining room offers plenty of comfortable seating choices, including a long bar along the center of the room. The patio is spacious and well kept. All of the spaces inside and out have music piped in from the bar. There are two restrooms just off the patio, and these are well-maintained. On busy nights, patrons can enjoy a drink in a standing bar area just off the patio. I love that the Overland provides a choice of setting depending on the kind of night you're planning. A romantic date? Get a reservation to sit inside, and it feels intimate. Just hanging out? The bar is fun as the mixologists make excellent drinks and friendly conversation. Sitting at the bar after 7 PM, you can watch the DJs spin the platters. If you have a larger group or just like to eat alfresco, the patio is perfect. The menu offers a really nice variety of drinks, including the pricier craft cocktails, more classic, moderately priced beverages, nonalcoholic drinks, and all sorts of beer and wine. The food menu is solid, with plenty of appetizers, salads, entrées, and a dessert. The real star is the tacos! These are very moderately priced at seven dollars apiece, and all three varieties are delicious! There is a potato taco, a beef taco, and pork chili Verde taco. I highly recommend these! The green salsa they provide is extremely mild, but they do have a variety of hot sauces on hand. It's worth mentioning that even a humble plate of tacos is served on nice ceramic dishes, along with good flatware and napkins. The espresso martini cheesecake is creamy and delicious, and the portion is really generous. The staff seem to enjoy working at the Overland. The servers work hard to make sure your order is to your liking, and food comes out pretty fast. There's a good sense of teamwork among them. The staff is also accommodating about seating or any special requests. We've been there on a busy Friday night, and on a Sunday evening and late night. The Overland is always at least moderately busy, so reservations are strongly recommended. The city of Redlands should be very proud of this establishment. Go and have fun!

There was only seating at the bar or outside (hot af outside). The only downside I think was a lot of their drinks are pre-made/on tap. We decided on weekend brunch, especially since there were endless mimosas. Our kids have a recollection of being down the class umbrella alleyway, so they were amazed when they saw it. A short while later, we were in front of the restaurant and were quickly seated by the staff. They didn't ask if we preferred outdoor or indoor seating, but we were seated inside right next to the kitchen. We heard that indoor seating was better for service anyway. The interior of the restaurant was "very fancy," and my daughter thought we were in a date spot. We knew we wanted French fries and opted for the garlic Parmesan fries. At first, the kids were weirded out by the arugula, but my daughter ended up enjoying it, noting the bitter and salty notes. My son devoured the entire plate (not the arugula) and asked for another round. We also ordered the lemon ricotta French toast, made from Brioche bread, lemon blackberry butter, whipped lemon ricotta cream, blackberries, mint, and maple syrup. They perfected the crispy exterior, which contrasted well with the fluffy bread. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza--a focaccia pizza topped with marinara, ham, spinach, fresh tomato, red onion, a sunny-side-up egg, and herb-infused maple syrup. This was really delicious with the tart, fresh tomatoes, the salty ham, and the sweet maple syrup. I ended up eating the sunny-side egg by itself, so we didn't get to try the pizza with the egg. Lastly, I ordered the steak and eggs, but it was sadly a small portion. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium. The seasoning was a bit strange and would have been better with simple salt, pepper, and garlic. The mimomas really made my wife happy. She started feeling it pretty quickly. She chose the pineapple juice while I got the traditional orange. Not sure if the alcohol made the food better or the other way around. I was brought to reality when I saw the expensive bill, though.

Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. Service was the main issue. The bartenders seemed inexperienced, and our server wasn't familiar with the drinks, often needing to check with someone else. It took about 20 minutes to receive our first round. Our reservation was at 10:30, we were seated until 10:40, and the place closes at midnight so timing already felt tight. Because of the wait, we asked to order two drinks at once for the next round, but were told it's limited to one at a time. That would be understandable if service were faster, but it took another 20 minutes to get the second drink. We were also told drinks from the regular menu take longer, so I tried one from the specialty menu...still a 20-minute wait. It was a frustrating experience. That said, the space itself is smaller and more intimate, which could make it a nice date spot. I ordered the Poblano Burger, and the deep-fried poblano was SO good. Unfortunately, I ordered the patty medium and it came out overcooked. The fries were also a little undercooked, and the burger could have used more sauce. Tasty overall, just not quite hitting the mark. Then came dessert... and this is where the experience really went downhill. I ordered the crème brûlée because I've had it elsewhere and had been craving it. While waiting, I stepped away to use the restroom. When I came back, my entire table--including my drinks--had been cleared. I had literally just ordered dessert and never indicated I was finished. The server seemed confused when I questioned it, which made the whole thing even more awkward. And unfortunately, the crème brûlée itself was also a miss. The sugar topping was torched too long and had a noticeably bitter, burnt flavor. The server (and possibly a manager) apologized, and I was given $2 off the drink, which I appreciated. Between the okay food and the especially strange service and lack of communication the experience left me disappointed. The atmosphere is definitely the highlight, but for me, the service experience was enough to say I probably won't be back anytime soon.
