I'm updating my review on MaDee Thai because we ordered from this restaurant recently and it seems that it has improved. We really enjoyed the dishes and while the food here has always been good, it seemed like they tasted better than usual. One thing to note though is that this restaurant always takes their time to make the food so it can take 30 minutes to pick up your take out order. That said, it is worth the wait if they make the food fresh. All this dishes were flavorful. The Ka Pao is always delicious with lots of basil and garlic. The eggplant dish is also savory, but could be better with more eggplant. The Pad Thai was also better because the noodles weren't as dry and the Panang curry was tasty with a creamy flavor. Overall, we can always count on this place for solid Thai food.

When I want curry this is where I go! MaDee is always cooking. The musmun curry, panang & pad seeyou are my favorite

After driving past MaDee I finally had the chance to stop in to try their food but unfortunately it was nothing to write home about. My panang curry lacked flavor and it tasted very bland. However I have had worse and the portions were big enough for two.

Did not disappoint. Will be back for more. Tasty and priced at a good point. Service was swift even on a busy night.

This ended up being one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time -- not just because of the food and drinks, but because of the PEOPLE. The hospitality here is truly next level. We checked into Hanuman and were told the wait would be about 50 minutes. The hostess was incredibly kind and let us know we were welcome to wait outside, sit in the waiting chairs, or head next door to ETC Bar since they had a full bar. Best decision ever. The second we walked into ETC, everyone was so welcoming. We sat at the bar and met the sweetest mixologist, Jada, who completely made our night. She recommended two drinks: "Bangkok to Thailand" and "Duh It's Mango." Both were AMAZING. "Bangkok to Thailand" was exactly the flavor profile I wanted -- technically a mocktail, but Jada added tequila for me and OMG... the tamarind sweetness was unreal. It honestly tasted like Bangkok in a cup. "Duh It's Mango" literally tasted like sticky rice and mango turned into a cocktail. I don't know how they do it, but it was incredible. We ended up coming back for seconds because the drinks were that good. While we were there, the owner (I believe she was the owner) came over to check on us after finding out we were the party of 6 waiting for Hanuman next door. She asked how we liked the drinks and we found out SHE created the cocktail menu herself, which honestly made the experience even cooler. Back at Hanuman, the hostess continued to go above and beyond. I'm so sad I didn't catch her name because she was genuinely one of the most thoughtful hostesses I've ever met. We were standing there holding all our drinks and she literally brought over a bench/table just so we'd have somewhere to place them. She smiled and said, "Just so your hands don't get cold." That small gesture stuck with me because it showed how much they truly care about their customers. It wasn't something she had to do -- she just wanted us comfortable. Then somehow the service got EVEN BETTER. We went back to ETC for another round while waiting and they told us they could actually seat us there and Hanuman would bring the food over. At that moment I genuinely thought... wow. This place gets hospitality. They made us feel valued the entire night. Now let's talk FOOD. Every single thing we ordered was incredible. The fried chicken appetizer with sticky rice was insanely good, and I loved that our waiter took the time to explain exactly how to eat it -- dipping the sticky rice into the fried garlic/onions and sauce combination. That bite was unforgettable. The Thai sausages were also amazing and came with two different varieties that were both packed with flavor. For mains we ordered: - Chicken curry - Shrimp fried rice - Papaya salad - Tom kha soup - Shrimp pad Thai The tom kha soup was SO flavorful and comforting. The shrimp fried rice with salted egg was addicting. The shrimp pad Thai was honestly one of the best pad Thai dishes I've had in a very long time. The chicken curry had the perfect balance of richness, spice, and flavor. The papaya salad could've had a little more spice for my preference, but it was still delicious. I was lowkey heartbroken they ran out of sticky rice for dessert, but honestly the desserts completely redeemed everything. The Thai tea crème brûlée was RIDICULOUSLY good -- the flavor was unreal. We also ordered the fried bananas with ice cream and that was another perfect ending to the meal. Tbh I was sad when I asked for another crème brûlée to go and the waiter said it wasn't doable. Huge shoutout to our waiter as well who gave us great recommendations throughout the night and made everything feel fun and welcoming. This wasn't just dinner. This was one of those experiences where you leave genuinely impressed by how much effort a restaurant puts into making people feel taken care of. Hanuman and ETC Bar x Thaizakaya absolutely nailed it from start to finish. We'll 1000% be back.

They also have lunch specials w an extensive menu. I read a review from someone who passed by everyday and was gushing about how amazing this was, me too I have passed by and was tempted to go in but my husband said why, we could go to Little Saigon closer to Huntington Beach. I was impressed by how beautiful the huge mural was in the parking lot which btw was ample, there was no need for a valet. I was surprised to be greeted by a Hispanic man and our server was also a Latina, the interior was so beautifully decorated like a shangrila, better than any Thai restaurant I went to in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. We ordered the beef satay, Penang chicken curry and drunken noodles, the portion was enough to feed an entire village! LOL! every entree came w rice, salad. Unfortunately everything was so sweet I thought I ate a dessert, I can't understand why everything is so sweet in 90% of Thai restaurants in USA, that is not the case in Thailand. The chicken in the Penang curry was so bland like coming out of the freezer not real chicken and the curry sauce was sweet so I could not eat it, the beef was chewy. The drunken noodle taste was Ok but it was also sweet. Over all it is 2 stars for me but I rate this 3 stars bc my husband needed to gain weight and he ate everything so the extra star came from him. I'm afraid the chef might also be a Hispanic man if all the help was so the food was not authentic, I don't think I will come back here. We ended up ordering the Tom Kha Gai and the tofu pad see ew. It was my first time ever having Tom Kha Gai, needless to say, it was delicious, and the portion was also good enough for 4 people total. The pad see ew was also great, probably the second best I have in, first being Dean by Dean noodles in Rowland Heights! The ratio of tofu, broccoli, eggs and noodles was great, honestly I am still thinking about that pad see ew and am tempted to go later this week for a plate... We also got the thai tea which was good! Given we we seated outside, there still a lot of room between tables so we didn't feel cramped by any means, I will note that if it gets cold, there aren't any outdoor heaters (that I saw), so just make sure to have a jacket! Service provided by Johnny was great, very awesome waiter and checked in on us a handful of times to see how we liked everything. I will definitely be coming back here again and providing updates with any new items I try!

Still on soft opening mode so the menu was somewhat limited. The lovely owner Bew is so sweet and we learned that several members of her family has been in the restaurant industry in SoCal for a long time (from San Diego to LA and now OC). We ordered the following: * Fish cakes for appetizer, love the sauce that came with it. * Holy Basil with Crispy Pork Belly. This was full of flavor, and really love the sauce and everything that came with it. Definitely scored high on craveability. The only request I had which I relayed to the owner is - the pork belly was a little on the tough side. I made suggestions for them to try to remedy that. * Pad Thai with Shrimp was on point. Hubs enjoyed and devoured it in no time. * Thai Tea and Green Tea were on point as well. They have desserts coming soon that we cannot wait to try. I forgot to take pics of the menu so I took screenshots of menu from their website. Would definitely be back to support Bew at Nai Tong. Go check them out!!!

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. While my food adventures in OC have largely been successful,…read moreit was inevitable that I'd end up coming across a place that so many folks like that just didn't hit the mark for me. However, I never would've thought that place was going to be Siam Station. After hearing good things about their spot in Cupertino/the Bay Area from several friends, it felt rather fortuitous when we randomly came across their original location - and with no line in sight! Inside, they've got a cozy sort of vibe and it's cool how they have some outdoor tables set-up as well. As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. Even though there wasn't much of the sauce, which was flavorful but not that spicy, it was fine - the wings were still great without it. -- KHAO SOI with Chicken - Yellow Curry Broth with Egg Noodles and Chicken and Served with Red Onions, Lime, and Pickles Ehh...this was okay, I guess. On the plus side, the chicken was tender and I thought the broth was pretty good - not the best I've had, but better than most. That said, I didn't love the egg noodles, especially the crispy ones after they had soaked up the broth. -- PAD KEE MOW (Drunken Noodles) with Crispy Pork - Flat Rice Noodles Stir Fried with Spicy Basil Garlic Sauce, Bell Peppers, Tomato, Sweet Onion, and Thai Basil I was super excited for this, but it was disappointing. The first thing we noticed was how pale it was and, sadly, the taste matched. Whether it be their garlic sauce or some chilis, this needed more. As for the pork, it was definitely crispy, but a few pieces bordered on dry/burnt. -- MANGO STICKY RICE A little hit, a little miss. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. What's more, I wonder if we just didn't get the best that Siam Station has to offer. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back to find out (and potentially writing an update), but perhaps I'll just try my luck at their spot in Cupertino that my friends like so much.
