Beautiful hotel and in great location with access to many subway lines nearby. Front desk staff was very polite. The hotel does lack some key amenities that made me question the value of the price: The in-room Bluetooth speaker did not work (it paired with my devices but had no volume, even for radio). There is no iron or steamer in the room. Also no fridge or gym (but I knew this upon booking). The rooms are beautiful but not totally convenient. The toilet paper roll holder is oddly positioned and often the roll would fall into the trash can when using. There is no alternative shower-head to the rainfall shower-head, making it difficult to shower if you don't intend to wash your hair. The shelf under the bathroom sink is unusable since it had wide open gaps (there is almost no counter space so that would have been helpful). There were 3 coat hangers in total my room. Again, the staff was kind with the exception of the lobby bartender. He saw me sit down around 6:00 pm and was chatting with a couple at the bar (we were the only customers). Though he saw me, he continued to talk to the man of the couple for two minutes before even moving toward me. That may not sound like a long wait, but it was when I sat there incredibly awkward just looking around, waiting to be served. It felt like he was annoyed just at my presence. He barely spoke to me and mumbled, never making eye contact. I had one drink and moved on to another location. I would be open to staying here again if the price was more competitive but otherwise, I'd try another boutique hotel in the city. read more

I would rate this 4.5 stars if I could I stayed at the MADE Hotel for the first time last week. I'll be staying here this week as well. The odd thing is that there is no signage. It took me a few minutes to figure out I was at the correct address. The interior lobby has a good ambiance and offers a comfortable area to relax. There is a grab-and-go up front. The lobby bar/breakfast area is in the back. The service is very good. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I found the staff to be genuinely interested in providing you with what you need. They also have a rooftop bar that provides great views and great drinks. The room was nicely appointed and had a very comfortable bed. It had a walk-in shower that had plenty of hot water. It was very quiet at night, so you could get some rest. The quality of the drinks at the bar and of the breakfast you can purchase is excellent. Prices for drinks and a full breakfast are on par with other hotels. I really enjoyed the experience and will follow up on this review if this week's stay is different. read more

We had a fabulous stay at MADE last week. Lucas at the front desk was awesome! He was very welcoming and even got us into our room early. We had a great experience with all the staff. The rooms are typical NY size. Oddly I found the bathroom to be more than adequate compared to the size of the room. Only drawback is there was no shower door so we went through a lot of towels drying the floor. Beds are super cozy. We asked for extra pillows and had them within minutes. The lobby is inviting with its low cozy couches and warm wood tones. The bar offers free coffee, hot tea and hot chocolate all day long. There is also a happy hour from 5-6 but we were never at the hotel to partake. Also several food options but again, we were never there long enough to eat. Great location to the subway. Can easily get uptown or downtown within minutes. read more

Incredible experience with my child. A great place to feel welcome. Lovely lobby and room decor. We did have some issues with water in the bathroom due to the shape of the accessible room bathroom which we did not request. The issue was never addressed after several attempts to resolve it, so showering could be stressful but everything else was amazing including the toiletries, coffee bar, service and ambiance as well as location. This is my kinda hotel. I never stay in hotels because they're usually kinda gross with bad decor and poor lighting. The Made, however, was just what I wanted. My room did not feel like a hotel room in the best of ways. The view was divine. Huge windows. Lots of thoughtful small touches. There is something just...cool...about the room and the way it's appointed. (I love love love that it wasn't carpeted. Nothing more disgusting to me than a hotel carpet.) OMG MADE Hotel was Perfect. So much so, that the teeny tiny little imperfections just floated past like nonchalant butterflies into the ephemera. I have to amend this review to cover all of the nuances, but I just wanted to get this out there stat. Don't skip on them if you want a first class stay without the snooty. My fav go to is usually One Hotel, but I like to mix it up and was gonna hit up the Basquiat exhibit so this was a good triangle point to do that and run by the Chelsea MKT without riding the subway. The staff...nawww...not staff, ... let me rephrase that. The really cool and genuinely sweet people who were behind the front desk and the bar made me feel like I was hanging out with friends who just happened to have the keycards to my pillow and drinks. Really. No plastic smiles, just good vibes. How do they do that? And this extended straight down to the cleaning staff that we ran into. This says to me....that everyone who works here is looked after...which means they will love looking after YOU when you stay. I can't wait to come back. read more

MADE hotel is very new, modern and welcoming place to stay. Entering at the entrance, I was impressed with the wooden lobby with matching industrial lightings and lots of plants. The decoration gives the lobby the chill yet very young vibe. A lot of leather sofas and couches give such a comfy feeling when I was there. The receptionists are friendly, fast and super helpful. I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights that they even remembered to ask me if I need new towels when they saw me in the lobby. Very environmental friendly as they don't clean and change towels if not requested. I like this efficient system! At check in, they gave some wooden coins, or I called them tokens, to exchange for cocktails/wine at night from their bars. The coffee station downstairs offers coffee and tea in the morning for free. They have filtered water available as well. The room is modern and clean, very comfortable for the long stay. Designed to maximize the usage of square feet, the room is very spacious! Highly recommended!! read more

Stayed here 4 times over the years and always have an enjoyable time. Great location, 12 minute walk from MSG and Penn station and within a 2-5 minute walk to multiple subway stops. Check in and out is easy and all staff is super friendly. We love the lobby bar, it's trendy and dark and the coffee shop is light and full of people always. Rooms are small but do the job, but we did notice AC didn't seem to be as nice and cold as it was last summer we visited. Rooms could use more towels but cleaning service is thorough and the products used in the bathroom are great. read more

Stopped in at the Lobby bar at MADE hotel Saturday night to pick up my Winter Tippler and stayed until closing. The Winter Tippler freebie was a lightly aerated gin-based cocktail. This was a slow sipper, meant to be savored. Our friend joined us and we stayed for another round. Their website doesn't have the names of the latest beverages, but I appreciate a rotational menu. I went with a green and refreshing mocktail and added vodka. My friend did the same with her grapefruit option. My other friend stayed on the gin track and went with a lemony option. The citrus is intense here, making each cocktail expression memorable. We ordered the shishito peppers. Some were very spicy, while others were mild and sweet. Go with the larger ones if you fear spice. We had an order of patatas bravas and went with a second order to have with the rest of the peppers. The layers of creamy and spicy flavors in the patatas bravas paired well with our drinks. The spice was mild when compared to the peppers. The bar tender handled all of our orders and made recommendations to us based off of the types of drinks we were interested in. There were probably 3 other couples throughout the 3 hours we were there. We were attended to and each time the bar tender apologized for interrupting our conversations. The level of service here is exceptional. Lobby Bar is stylized with lots of natural wood furnishings and warm amber backlight which highlight the bottles and glassware. A wooden ceiling mirrors the floor enveloping you in a cozy and intimate settings. A single colorful pink-framed abstract painting makes for a perfect selfie backdrop for a reminder of a perfect night out! Wish I could share a video! I took a video of our room and it was super cozy and clean! I was here over May for my birthday and the vibes were awesome. They had tea and coffee unlimited every day at any time. They had different happy hours and they had amazing breakfast lunch and dinner at the hotel. The rooftop bar was especially amazing, and I loved the greenery all around. Honestly, this hotel definitely exceeded my expectations, and I was really happy to stay here for the three nights. This hotel has been open about 5 years you say? Um...what? I frequent this area quite a bit and not just for dollar slices of pizza so imagine my surprise when hearing this. This hotel which I can only presume it to be boutique is actually quite nice. I haven't stayed here personally but I can definitely imagine a staycation of sort. It has a rooftop bar too? Whhhhhaaaat? Under renovation currently sadly but it should be ready for the Spring season perhaps. The bar area does give off a vibe of being able to conduct work, hanging out, dates, and meeting up with people. Sh*t did I just described this as a Starbucks? I mean they do have a coffee area as well which is nice. I didn't check it out yet though so no comment on that. Drinks was good. I came here to pick up the booklet for the Autumn Tippler. The drink itself was good in strength and tasted good overall. The bartender was having a bad day/night and as someone who works/worked in hospitality, I completely sympathized. Though, spilling my drink as the glass tettered upon landing to me and then dropping the Autumn Tippler booklet onto the spilled area...ehhh. I wasn't going to add on to his bad day so I just brushed it off. Though the next customer that came had to had her drink remaded because of a poor mix or something. I really don't know because I wasn't watching him make it. I did watch him remake it as the customer(s) had to take a seat to wait. I had it made at the MADE HOTEL! This hotel has been on my bucketlist for a while now ever since I discovered it on tripadvisor. I'm obsessed with Boho chic hotels and this one definitely takes the cake! The staff here were so excellent! Everyone I interacted with had a smile on their face and were more than happy to assist me with anything that I needed. I stayed during covid times and I felt safe with all the protocols put in place. Now let's get to the ROOM. This is literally my dream room. The low bed to the ground, large window near the bed, boho chic decor, rain head shower, the list goes on. And I had the best sleep because the mattress was sooooo comfortable! I was in love with the bathroom! That sink is everything! I am so pleased to have also gotten the deal I did here because normally this hotel is about $250 a night starting. read more

My wife and I decided to spend a week at Made Hotel. It was very convenient if you have work in Midtown or anywhere in Manhattan as it is very easy to move around from this location. You are in the center of the city but in a very calm area where it felt extremely safe and comfortable. The rooms were cozy and pretty large for a nyc hotel. You can tell house keeping takes pride in there jobs because everything was clean and perfect. Views from the balcony and rooftop bar were beautiful. We will be staying here again in the near future. Lots of places to eat just around the corner as they also have a restaurant at the bottom floor of the hotel witch me and my wife didn't get a chance to check out. Lots of shopping centers near by only like 2 blocks away. With your stay they also offer you free tea and coffee 24/7 so that's a huge perk. Parking was easy as valet will take your car as soon as you arrive. You do have to pay a fee for parking. We parked are suv and it was 85$ a night. Overall our experience was great and the front desk manager is awesome. Thanks Made hotel for making our stay smooth and comfortable! read more

Made Hotel is pretty, hip, clean, and slightly imperfect in just a few ways but aren't we all? We stayed on the 10th floor, the view was nothing to write home about but I loved the natural light. As others have mentioned when the room above you opens/closes their blinds it's as if they're in your room which really is odd. The walls are thin and the elevator is close to all the rooms BUT we were tired enough at the end of each day I didn't even notice and I'm a super light sleeper. The bed was quite comfortable! My only real complaint is the bathroom situation. First the sink, it's unique and beautiful but insanely impractical. Washing your face? Water EVERYWHERE. Brushing your teeth? Better put down a towel. I've included a photo so you can see why/what I mean. The "windows" into the toilet and shower area are also less than ideal but unless you're really looking for it you probably won't see your partner on the stool. Probably. All that said, I think we'd stay at Made again. Central location was nice. Complimentary coffee was great, I ordered a chai latte or two and they were lovely as well. read more

We stayed here for a long holiday weekend and really enjoyed our stay. This is a cute boutique hotel right in Midtown (just a couple blocks from the Empire State Building). It has a coffee shop (Paper Coffee), lobby bar, and a rooftop bar (Good Behavior) with an excellent view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great. Walking distance to lots of bars and restaurants and close to the subway and citi bike rentals. We got a free coffee and glass of wine for each night we stayed at the hotel, which was awesome! It is a full service coffee shop as well (espresso, pastries, etc.). We stopped by every morning. We also stopped by the rooftop bar twice during our stay. The drinks were delicious, decor and music were great, and the view was amazing. The rooms are small, which is to be expected in Midtown. Ours did not have a closet or any drawer storage, but we made it work with the rack and stools they provided. Housekeeping is not automatic, which was fine. By our third night we requested a refresh on towels and trash removal, which they provided right away. I would highly recommend this hotel! read more

FYI this review is solely based on my experience at the bar "Lobby". I discovered this cute bar during my time Tippling. The entrance is a little tricky if you're not paying attention and easy to walk by. But once inside you can't help but to admire the decor and chill vibes. This place is perfect for after work drinks or a meet-up spot for friends. The drinks are mixed well and easy on the tastebuds. Aside from the music, the noise level could range from low to average (depending on the crowd). This place has become a fav, just wish they would offer more options when it comes to their bar snacks. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Made Hotel. For starter, it's a quick walk from the Amtrak train station and the aesthetics of this building is beautiful. You walk in and there is a small cafe with seating area, and a lounge area with a bar with the check-in counter in the middle. This area is the hotel lobby and it is open to the public. The check-process was easy. I was able to check in slightly early when I arrived. During the check in you, are given a wine token to be redeemed at the cafe for each night you stay. And the best part is, you can have the wine whenever you want. Whether it be 6am or 10pm it's your choice. The elevators are a little small but my friend and I was able to fit comfortably. We stayed in a double bed room on the 10th floor. There wasn't much of a view, but we could still see some of the building. The room is a little on the smaller side; however, that is what was expected. After all, it is New York. The bathroom was about an average size, but our shower didn't have a door which I thought was odd. I booked a self-care package which included a bottle of prosecco, a late check out, and two face mask. Also in the room was robes and a pair of slippers. House keeping was available; however, you had to request for their services during due to COVID. Their patio balcony on the second floor was closed during our stay; however, their rooftop on the 18th floor was so beautiful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone! There is a door beside the elevator which leads to a downstairs area that appears to be a restaurant with another seating area. I didn't utilize this area, but I also didn't discover it until our last day. Our stay here at made hotel was short of nothing but amazing. I picked this hotel because of the beautiful balcony they had for the purpose of proposing to my girlfriend. When I had first called them, I had spoken to the front desk concierge; who had referred me to Alison. When I finally did have the opportunity to speak to her and explain what I wanted to do; she was very happy to help me. Alison was very patient with all my requests such as checking out the balcony, working with my sister in the proposal, allowing us to have the balcony to ourselves, and letting us set up the layout I had in mind. When going there the first time I met Lucas; who was also very helpful and wanted to help us out anyway possible. Thanks to both of them and everyone else at made hotel; everything went perfect. One of my favorite lowkey bars to get a good cocktail. The bartenders are always super friendly and seem so skillful in their cocktail prep. Once you get past the big wooden door that I struggled to open the first time, you walk into a warm, dimly lit & comfy lounging space. What a beautiful hotel. Tucked away midtown with easy access to the subway around the corner, tourist spots in short walking distances and easily a good view of the city. Service was personable and sweet. They acknowledged our birthday's and anniversary. They had appropriate recommendations for food. They were all so kind to our kids. A very special shout out to Lucas and Hannah for accommodating us after an early flight and just throughout our entire stay. Lobby is cute and cozy with a bar. Happy hour 5-6. We thoroughly enjoyed The Paper Coffee in the lobby and its seating area. They provide free coffee, hot cocoa, and tea to hotel guests. There is a rooftop bar called Good Behavior. We couldn't hear the noise at night! We had a deluxe king and the size was perfect. I love the design from the industrial wall mount, the bathroom, natural stone ceiling, and large windows. I do wish there was more storage space but it works if you're a minimalist. The best part about the room is the shower head. I cant explain that part further-you'd just have to stay here. Two Words... BOOK NOW! Customer Service: My partner and I wanted to celebrate her birthday locally with a simultaneous workcation in mind. After days of looking for the perfect stay, we found Made. The reviews and photos on IG were all reasons to book but it the call to the front desk that was pushed the button for us. She answered every question with care, patience and knowledge. After we hung up, we booked our room. We were upgraded to the 17th floor penthouse and given late checkout so we HAD to extend our stay from 3 days to 4. WHO WOULDN'T? Location: The room was immaculate and we were impressed by earthy, minimalist and sustainable room design and decor. The double shower head and beautiful free standing tub was a room highlight. Equipped with plush robes and slippers. The view of the sunrise/sunset and Chelsea from the full floor balcony was breathtaking. The rooftop was a green oasis of plants. It is an open free space that served as a photoshoot backdrop and Zoom call background. One afternoon, we saw someone conducted a yoga class. Food: We received free coffee every morning and a bottle of wine upon arrival. Debajo is the Spanish Tapa Restaurant downstairs. We dined in once and ordered take out once. Our advice would be to consider everything but GET the Octopus dish or the Shrimp dish. The small cozy eatery had an outdoor heated space that followed COVID regulations in terms of space COVID: All staff was masked and gloved from the cafe to the staff at the front desk. Not a great value at all for the price. Checking in was lackluster, when I asked for help with my bags the receptionist looked puzzled and said they don't have staff who do that here. Okay. The room was lackluster - this is somehow no minifridge even in the Deluxe room, and in-room minibar options are the sparsest I have ever seen. In addition, I had a robe requested prior to landing in new york (as per their bizarre policy that robes are by request only) - only to discover, of course, no robe in the room upon check-in! All requests made to the front desk however were speedy, as my next issue was that my much-looked-forward-to post flight shower was delayed due to an issue with the shower drain. As I ran the water to get it warm, the water level grew and grew on the shower floor until it nearly spilled out onto the bathroom floor. Seems that the drain isnt regularly cleaned and was so clogged that it wouldn't allow any running water to escape. However the maintenance gentleman who was sent to help (who arrived very promptly) was wonderful and fixed the issue quickly. Other small inconveniences: the room service website does not work - there is a QR code in the room that you scan to order & pay from your phone - I tried several times throughout the day and no matter if it was AM or PM, I kept getting the same error message when trying to add items to my cart - "our store is not currently accepting orders." Okay. The day prior to checkout, I requested late checkout without issue - however when checkout day came, at 11:30 AM (a half hour before regular checkout, and an hour and a half before the late checkout time I was given), a woman briskly knocked on the door and immediately opened it, finding me there in my bathrobe about to take a shower. I'm not quite sure what she was doing there as she didn't have a housekeeping cart, but she had an employee badge. She asked me if I was checking out soon, as if I had overstayed my welcome, to which I said I was given late checkout, and she responded by saying she didn't speak English... okay. That is a major safety concern if staff is entering rooms without confirming first if there is a guest inside. I called down to the front desk and asked if my late checkout had been revoked, and they reassured me that the woman had made a mistake and I was still good to check out at 1PM. Well, it was no understatement that my following shower was a terrifying one, waiting for someone to enter again, but luckily nobody did. Checking out was OK, I had the front desk hold my luggage for me so I could grab a bagel next door, only to be told upon returning that I was not allowed to sit in the lobby and eat it. No outside food. Okay. I will definitely not be staying here again, however I do want to thank a few staff members who made the stay a lot less of a ripoff - Samantha at the front desk who made checking out a breeze, the nighttime front desk clerk, Corey, who eagerly grabbed me fresh towels at the late late hour of 3AM - the female bartender whose name I did not catch but was so friendly and made me one of the best mezcal margaritas of my life, and of course the maintenance man who quickly fixed my shower's drain. I wish more of the staff were like them, I would have had a much more pleasant stay! read more

My stay here was incredible! I arrived here early and they were able to accommodate me even though it very early in the morning. Kaylee at the front was incredibly accommodating and made sure that my stay here was relaxing and comforting. They have an awesome bar downstairs, a great rooftop, and the rooms were comfy. They could definitely be bigger, but overall the experience was delightful. My fiancée wasn't feeling well one of the nights, and they even made her a couple of teas, which really healed her. Stayed here for a staycation! The hotel is gorgeous and super clean. Made hotel came in clutch for me as a previous hotel I booked canceled on me days before my trip. I called to confirm my booking with them and they graciously empathized with me. The gentleman on the phone even upgraded my room. Outstanding customer service!!!! The room completely exceeded my expectations and the staff were super friendly/ attentive. I will absolutely be back post covid. You have to schedule a room cleaning and each time was super easy. The rooftop area is amazing as well as the lobby coffee area. There are a variety of restaurants near by within walking distance and you can order via a delivery service. This place is a glorified hostel. Stayed here to allow my more budget friendly trip partners the ability of coming to NY. They found this hotel and I just went with it. FIRST BIG MISTAKE. I booked a deluxe room through Chase points. SECOND MISTAKE! They treated me like a second class citizen because I didn't book cash (even though points are more expensive) and because Chase uses Expedia as a third party booking experience. Mh experience started to go downhill when I decided to take a mid afternoon nap. The room next door had been screaming and playing loud TV since the morning when I checked into my room. I called downstairs and inquired if I could change rooms. The front desk person said no problem but they only had a junior suite available at $200. I agreed and proceeded to pick up my things to be able to transfer. I called the front desk to get the keys and they told me the room was not available anymore. That they only had a "studio" which is a downgrade. The front desk person said he was sorry and told me that they would give me a refund and a discount on the new room. Perfect! I move to the room and it qas SMALL! Also it looks like one of the rooms used for the overflow of guests. It had what it looked like refilled bottles of toiletries (see picture). A day later I received an email from Chase saying they received a refund of 10k points on a 104k stay. How?! where was the breakdown? When would someone call me to tell me what the discount and new rate was? No one ever did! That day in the afternoon I asked for new towels and they provided me with towels with big holes! Broken towels that felt like they were a million years old. Upon check out I inquiered about the refund and they told me that they had given me a $50 per night refund. So the downgrade and "discount" was $150! For 3 nights!!! I asked to see a detail and inquire how they came up with that number. No detail was provided. I started talking to the front desk manager Priscilla and she promised a further reduction on charges that would equate whAt the actual room stay would have been a night, a discount and the removal of the hotel fees. She also promised me an email confirmation with the detail per night of this refund. Its been a few days and no email has been received and no refund has been processed. The hotel just tells me to call Expedia. Lesson to learn here... if it looks took good and too curated on Instagram... ITS LIE! read more

This is my second time staying at this hotel and I don't think I can stay at another hotel in New York! This hotel has so much charm and the rooms are great. While they come very uncluttered, you can call and ask for anything you need! They delivered a mini fridge, steamer, robes, and extra hangers upon request. The beds are comfy and you can't hear any of the street noise. The restaurant here is also SO yummy and the bar upstairs is always poppin and serving delicious drinks. They also have complimentary glasses of wine and coffee for guests! The best part about this hotel is the staff. You cannot find more caring and genuinely nice people. I left a stuffed animal at the hotel and I was so bummed thinking I wouldn't get it back but I called and they had already set it aside for me boxed up and ready to be shipped!! Though I've met with work colleagues at the MADE hotel lobby before (excellent coffee from Paper Coffee there, by the way!), this was my first time staying at the hotel for 2 nights. Though I work in the city, I commute from out of state and needed an affordable place to stay! I love this boutique hotel. It has a really warm and hospitable atmosphere in its design, the rooms are spacious, and for a spot in NoMad in such a bustling part of Manhattan, it was surprisingly quiet at night and easy to get a good night's rest! The front desk staff and housekeeping are all very kind and accommodating. I was able to check in to my room early at noon, they've got room service in connection with their restaurant Debajo, and you are within walking distance to so many great restaurants, shops, and central subway lines! Stayed here unexpectedly for a night when other accommodations fell through. Glad I found it! Tl;dr: great staff, loud room. Pros: - Central location in Manhattan - Super friendly staff, they are personable and try to remember your name and your preferences - this sounds like a small thing but I stay in a lot of hotels and it's rare and does really make you feel seen as a guest. - Online checkin, and when I asked for luggage storage they checked me in 3 (!) hrs early - Free coffee and tea at the coffee shop in the lobby (might be the best free hotel coffee I've ever had) - Rooms are small but well laid out and have big windows - Nice bathroom with rain shower Cons: - It's kinda loud. There are only 6 rooms per floor, which means you're always going to be near the elevator. The doors are also pretty thin, which means you can hear your neighbors entering, exiting, what they are talking about when they walk down the short hallway. I also heard the room next to me opening and lowering their blinds, it sounded as if they were in the same room.. which was kind of freaky. I was on the 11th floor and barely heard street noise. - There are little windows in the bathroom wall, and the bathroom also has the toilet in it. It's probably a way to get some daylight in there but I'm glad I stayed in the room by myself and not with another person. I would definitely recommend this hotel, though maybe not for very light sleepers. With better insulation in the doors and a way to make them slam less when they close, and blinds that don't rattle, I think this place would be more restful - on top of already being stylish and welcoming. read more

My husband and I came into the city on Friday April 30th and spent the night at The Made hotel for an anniversary getaway. Upon arrival the hotel does not have a sign out front so it took a little investigating to see if we were in the right spot. Staff was friendly and inviting, It was great to see so many people in the lobby (lounge) area hanging out on laptops and having coffee. At check in we recieved two drink chips, good for either a glass of wine at the bar or coffee in the morning. The whole lobby had a very cafe/bar type feel. The room was adorable, we recieved a complimentary bottle of Prosecco for our anniversary with the beautiful touch of a handwritten note. The room itself had a very modern industrial/Boho vibe. The bathroom was designed in the same theme with unfinished layered stone countertop. The sink was so cute, but it was not a great sink to try and wash your face in, a little low and slightly too small even though it's actually huge. Everyone on staff was welcoming, friendly, and they seemed to really be enjoying what they do. As someone who works as a food and beverage manager in hospitality that is a rare find and a huge compliment to the managers and owners for cultivating a family vibe with the staff. ***The walls and doors are VERY thin, my husband and I heard every conversation in the hallway and the room next door. Pros- customer service was great; liked the location overall; enjoyed the free wine and it was good wine; nice rooftop, comfortable mattress and pillows; nice water pressure. Cons: bed is super low to the ground; no place to sit in room; no dresser; no space to put make-up for getting ready; no chair on balcony to sit; you have to ask for a second roll of toilet paper. It's not for people who enjoy luxury, unpacking your suitcase or a place to relax in the room. I won't stay again but it was very clean overall. read more

Stayed at this fab hotel a second time last month and was not disappointed. The Staff is amazing from Alison to Priscilla to Luke, Matt, etc. I can't remember everyone's name at the moment. The best crew !! The hotel design is so well done and thoughtful and the location makes it walkable to the Javits Center where we attended a show. We stayed for 3 days with our younger child and the whole experience was fantastic. We asked for a quieter room because sleep was important and they delivered ( yes we had a view of the back alley ) but it was so quiet. The room was very clean and the king bed was incredibly comfortable. There is no coffee in the room but instead, they have a coffee bar downstairs that makes really good coffee, cappuccinos, and such. The front desk was friendly and gave us an umbrella as we were about the head out ( they checked the forecast and we did not ) it rained but we were prepared. Yes, the rooms are small, but the location is close to everything. I would not recommed this for a large family but as a couple is perfect. read more

The only place I stay in NYC. Front desk staff is drinking some happiness juice apparently, always in a great mode. Beds are comfortable, room interiors have great design lines and functionality. I did a three day staycation here. I chose this hotel because the reviews were great and it looked beautiful and relaxing. When I first booked, I asked about early check in and was told I could do so for free if the room was ready. The day of, I opted to check in early and was told there was a $20 fee for that over the phone the morning of. When I arrived, I saw I was charged almost $200 more than I should have been... As I checked in, a woman told me it was just "credit card authorization" and that the fees would be reversed. This didn't make sense because CC auth is usually $1, not $160, and it is credited right away. Later, I brought it up again and was assured by a gentleman at the front desk that the fees would be corrected. They didn't factor in the staycation discount I should have gotten, and also charged me an early check-in fee for every day rather than just one. I saw a credit on my bank account three days later right before check out; the full amount of my stay was refunded. Two days after that, a new charge was added for the full amount + "corrected" early check in fee. I called yet again yesterday night and was told early check in is $50. Yet in calculating the difference of what I was charged, it came out to $41.38. Very inconsistent. If I knew it would be this much of a headache, I wouldn't have bothered and would have just come later. Worse, had I not noticed this and brought it up, I would have been charged an exorbitant amount. During my stay, when I first got upstairs, it appeared as if my bathroom counter hadn't been thoroughly wiped down -- there was a white soap stain right on the counter. There's also no fridge and no bottled water in the rooms, which should be standard. The walls are really thin here. You can very clearly hear the music being played by the people next to you (while I was writing this we were listening to "Unfaithful" by Rihanna). I could hear the fun being had by people down the hall on the other end. It's kind of reminiscent of a college dorm. Each hotel room comes with a bluetooth speaker, but when the walls are this thin I'm not sure that's a good idea. You get a complimentary cup of coffee or tea every morning and glass of wine in the evening, which would be nice if we weren't charged a non-negotiable "curation fee" of $16 per night to cover these costs. So it's not so much complimentary as pre-paid. The red wine and berry green tea were both pretty good though. There's an open lounge area on the first floor, which is marked for guests only, as well as a beautiful rooftop lounge on the 18th floor. Each night and some mornings there were a decent number of people enjoying these areas, but many if not most were not wearing face masks despite being less than 2 feet away from the next person. I sometimes saw was many as 10 people sitting together with no masks in sight. On the upside, the hotel and its rooms has a natural, rustic feel... down to the literally rusted metal in the showers (dial, shower head and shelf). The music and ambience would definitely attract 20s-30s hipsters (I don't think I saw anyone older than late-30s my whole stay). The hotel room itself felt like it was somewhere between an airbnb and "true" hotel room. Not the worst stay, not the best. I likely would not do it again. Some improvements would push this hotel a long way. read more
