Excellent stay here at The Standard High Line. My wife and I really enjoyed the room, the views and the service. We always loved this neighborhood. Check-in was fast and easy. The Liberty Corner King has stunning views east, west & south. We were on the 13th floor and got the Empire State building, freedom tower, Statue of Liberty and Jersey along the Hudson River with an amazing sunset. The hotel is large (I think 18 floors), yet it had a very boutique feel to it. They provide slippers, robes, an umbrella and a steamer. Fully stocked minibar. Customer service was outstanding. Everywhere we walked throughout the property, every employee was friendly and made an effort to say hello. Special thanks to Melissa for making our anniversary memorable. David was great as well. There is a rooftop nightclub which we faintly heard the music from. It didn't disturb our sleep though on the plush comfortable bed. Seems like the 12th floor might be the best location to be completely undisturbed. The hotel is trendy, sexy with a touch of hipster vibe. Not the most traditional, but perfect for my stay. My wife and I agreed that we will return.

I had a great stay at The Standard Hotel. I was there for a few weeks and everything was up to par. The room was clean and spacious. The front desk staff are so incredibly sweet and accommodating. Centrally located in Chelsea, this hotel gives you the ability to walk around the different suburbs easily. The check-in/check-out process was seamless! There are also credits worth exploring through AMEX. I would definitely stay here again.

From SF. Stayed here for a small trip during Pride 2025. I'll start by saying the outside and visual appeal of the hotel is really appealing. Location was cool too. We walked almost everywhere once we figured out it wasn't too bad to get some exercise in. Upon checking in (side note- checking in ahead of time does nothing but it was a swift check-in on a Thursday evening), concierge asked us if we were noise sensitive. Apparently they have a club on the 18th floor and floors closer to the top get pretty loud. Club is open until 4am. I was flexible but my partner is noise sensitive when falling asleep so we opted for a quieter room. Even on the 8th floor we could still hear the music pretty clearly so I can't imagine how loud it is closer to the 18th floor. She mentioned she upgraded us to a Queen deluxe (?) We thanked her and proceeded to our room. 8th floor right by the elevators. View was cool. (Could see the Whitney Museum from our window as well as the river and a soccer field.) We noticed pretty quickly that the room was tiny. Which isn't the end of the world. We realize it's NY and we were not gonna spend that much time in the hotel room anyways. The bathroom and toilet are separated. Toilet room is cramped I would say. The bathroom portion is where our biggest issue was. There is a very deep and spacious bathtub but the shower was very poorly designed. The water goes everywhere because there is no door or curtain or lip to catch the water. So it spills out to the sink area and makes it extremely slippery and dangerous. We had to pile towels on the floor by the edge to try to keep the water contained. It was futile. I didn't even want to take a shower anymore. I decided on a bath after that. Not many places to hang towels or put items. Small closet with steamer. Bed was very soft. Like too soft for me. But that's just my opinion. Carpet appears a bit dingy. Couldn't get the light above our bed to turn on. There is a Bluetooth speaker for music. Small sitting area with table and booth. Baby fridge and 2 waters/day. My partner expressed interest in switching hotels a day into our stay but I felt like that would be a hassle. Definitely not worth the price in our opinion and would not come back if/when we come back to NY.

I had a very nice two-night staycation at The Standard. I booked a Premium Deluxe Room and requested a quiet room, which put me on a lower floor. Despite being lower to the ground, the view from my room was still fantastic, which is what I wanted. Being a New Yorker, I had no interest in seeing more buildings on my vacation, so it was nice to be able to look downtown and onto the river. It's also cool seeing how the High Line goes right through the building. The room was also a perfect setup for me: not large (what NYC hotel room is?), but efficiently laid out, with a useful sitting area with table, and separate shower/tub area from the toilet/sink area. I enjoyed the soaking tub, but I concur with other complaints that for a luxe hotel at a luxe price, you would expect some sort of bath products to make the experience nicer. Thankfully, I read other reviews and knew to bring some bath salts with me. I called Housekeeping to ask for a pair of slippers to use in-room, as well as a kettle. The service was friendly and prompt each time. This was helpful, as when I initially checked in, one of the hotel staff members had a bit of a snobby demeanor. Everyone else I encountered was great, though. I felt the room was understandably a bit drafty, with the ceiling to floor windows, but I adjusted the temperature as needed, and was fine. The location is great: Chelsea Market, Pier 57, Little Island, and shopping nearby. Overall, I had a fantastic stay!

Please be aware that the Standard caters to hip urban kids that feed on minimalism and cool. Upon walking into the crammed and tiny lobby with irritating lights, confusing signage, and a hallway so dark you can hardly figure out how to get to the elevators, we knew we were in trouble. The rooms are hyper-modern and small, meaning your bathroom sink is in the shower, along with the trash cans, and your bed is on the floor, along with the TV. Hated everything about it and not for those that like elbow room, comfort, and a little opulence. The adjoining restaurant was lovely and the staff were friendly but other than that the hotel and room were awful.

Came for a Thanksgiving getaway this year and so glad we did! Love love love this hotel. I'm 63 so while there's a bit of a hipster vibe, the hotel is all about good service & hospitality which makes me feel included, not alienated. I've stayed here 7 or 8 times and love the location, views of the Hudson, convenience to everywhere and the smartly designed, super cute rooms (perhaps a bit small but seriously it's NYC) Wanna shout out Rosa who was particularly kind and sent us a complimentary bottle--TY Rosa! After all these years I think The Standard still takes hospitality seriously and for that we are grateful and will continue to stay here

Great time here promoting a movie for Netflix. The vibes here are so vibrant. Very New York! Can't wait to be back. High quality is THE STANDARD!

This is our favorite place to stay in NYC. You pay a premium for great quality here. My wife and I always get the suite with a bathtub overlooking Little Island whenever we need to unwind and have been going for over 10 years. Rooms are always spotless. Food is always fantastic, especially the steak with frites and eggs Benedict. We get a bottle of wine and stare out the floor-to-ceiling windows to enjoy the Hudson River, High Line and generally people watch. We're not big club goers, but the amazing City Winery is just across the street and there are incredible restaurants all around the Standard. One of the things that I love about the Standard is the attentive and friendly staff at every level. Even taking the elevator is a fun experience with the artistic video displays that vary from elevator to elevator. We have stayed at hotels throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan and this is easily our first choice!

Enjoyed staying here Christmas Eve. Room was upgraded I guess because they weren't very busy. Comfy bed with a great view of the Hudson looking north towards midtown. Room was a tad rundown and the shower was downright silly. Called a peekaboo it was a small room containing a shower, vanity and towels with no shower door. The drain was on the floor next to the cabinet so the room flooded whenever I'd shower. The stay included breakfast at the Standard Grill, always a fan favorite. Service was excellent with a friendly, accommodating staff who seemed genuinely happy to be working. Lobby is cool as was the outdoor area. I consider the hotel to be well priced and the location really can't be beat. A short walk to The Roastery, Chelsea Market and the Highline makes this a top choice when making the grueling 20 minute drive to stay in Manhattan. Kudos

Listen, I am only knocking off one star because there are some technological issues that the Standard needs to adjust to come up to standard, such as more USB plugs in the rooms, as well as an alarm clock, better Wi-fi connection and electrical outlets that actually hold the plug while in use. All that aside, the guest experience here is unmatched from start to finish. I even left behind my child's iPad accidentally and Tyrell, the shipping manager, is absolutely amazing. Please give that man a raise and/or all of the money he needs to be satisfied in life because he has kept in contact with me like no other and has been such a pleasure to work with and speak to. I wish him all the best in his career and in life and hope to encounter more genuine and positive human beings like him. The staff at the front desk was also cordial and kind upon arrival and everyone that we ran into in the housing department was just as pleasant. We did stay with our daughter, but I would definitely strongly hold to the statement that The Standard is leaning heavily toward the "grown & sexy" vibe. So perfect for a couple's trip. I did not personally try their room service menu, but they do offer a variety of food from wagyu steak, to chicken wings, to salmon on your Caesar salad and even a good pickle.

There was a really interesting vibe to this hotel! Apparently there is some interesting news about this hotel if you Google it! I liked the hotel, I was able to check in early and it is in a great location - very close to the pier in meatpacking! There are also a ton of bars and restaurants nearby that make it ideal. We had breakfast here and the American breakfast was delicious! The room however did have a few kinks- the tables were slanted so things slipped consistently and the shower had a weird faucet!

What is the deposit?

There was no deposit. I paid once my visit was over.

Can the bathtubs fit two people?

yeah if you're lucky enough to get a tub with a plug that works :)

Do all the rooms come with a tub in the room?

Yes, the plug was a bit tricky but someone came and showed me how how to use it correctly. They were very helpful.

Is this hotel near a train station or a bus stop in is it a nice hotel in a good area?

There is a bus stop one block north of the hotel on 14th Street. It is in the Chelsea neighborhood. Lots of diversity near the hotel. There is the Chelsea Market, Whitney Museum and The High Line to name a few. Happy exploring.

Does this hotel have a gym?

Yes. See http://www.standardhotels.com/new-york/features/gym-standard-high-line

We had our first breakfast in New York at the hotel's "the living room" which is located in the lobby. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with modern decor and stunning 30 foot ceilings. We arrived at 7am as the restaurant just opened and Kamil greeted us with a warm genuine smile. Unfortunately, due to geopolitical instability impacting our return route through Amman and the broader Persian Gulf region, our travel plans became unworkable. I contacted multiple hotels involved in our itinerary, and every one of them demonstrated professionalism and understanding by waiving cancellation fees given the circumstances--including other Marriott properties and the Ritz-Carlton. This property, however, took a completely different approach. I spoke with Samir in the reservations department. He refused to provide any refund. We went back and forth multiple times, and each time he introduced a new justification. At one point, he claimed the U.S. State Department had not advised against travel to the Persian Gulf and that any warning had expired on March 31. I provided evidence that there was no expiration date, yet he continued to deny the request. I also explained that other Marriott properties and Ritz-Carlton locations had already issued full refunds under the same circumstances. Despite this, he continued to refuse any accommodation. Only after I told him I would be leaving a review about my experience did he offer a future credit. That is not a practical solution when I have no certainty of returning to Morocco. I then requested that a manager follow up with me. No one ever did. Communication stopped entirely. This response reflects a lack of flexibility, accountability, and basic customer consideration--especially when compared to how other properties under the Marriott International brand handled the exact same situation. As a result, I had to absorb the financial loss and cancel the reservation. Based on this experience, I recommend considering alternative accommodations that demonstrate greater responsiveness and professionalism when dealing with legitimate, unforeseen global disruptions.

Bonus-it was clean!! The iPad system to control the room is clever: manage the thermostat, tv, blinds/shades and lights. It takes a minute for the iPad to connect (not sure if it's a wifi issue or that these iPads are an older model). Speaking of the thermostat, it kinda worked. I think it shuts off or scales back when there's no movement in the room. I had a hard time getting it cooled down to a good temperature, so I didn't sleep as well as I would have liked. The bed is very comfortable, though...and even with the small space, there are plenty of places to hang clothes and store items. Several outlets and USB charging stations available as well. There aren't any washcloths - just hand/body towels... and it's up to you if you want to have your room lightly cleaned or fully turned over. (See your iPad to make that option). There was only one elevator working, so it could take a few minutes to get your lift up or down. The staff that we engaged with were great. Check in and out were super easy. The lobby is pretty cool and hip. There's a small rooftop bar/lounge and a nice sized food/canteen area in the lobby. This spot is super centrally located, and during NYFW was an affordable, clean, and hip spot to stay for a few days. I am familiar with CitizenM as I have been to their hotel bars in their Miami locations, but had never stayed at one. I truly enjoyed my experience here. From check in to ordering wine or coffee at the bar, to the room, it was all lovely. I will say, the room is quite small. But truly, what do you need a big room for when you're going to be exploring NYC all day? The bed we got was a king, and dare I say it was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. The room is set up a bit like a studio, with two little closets which made it easy to organize and unpack, a small desk, and a vanity in the common area. The toilet and shower are together in what kind of looks like a spaceship capsule in the middle of the room. One cool thing is how high tech this hotel is - you have an ipad that controls everything in the room from the room temp, your blinds, to the TV, to connecting your devices to the TV to stream music, etc. In the lobby bar you can opt in for hotel breakfast buffet, but instead we would just grab coffees as we were getting ready. Grace at the bar was super friendly, as was all of the staff. My one area for improvement is the elevator. We received a notice that one of the three elevators was broken during our stay and every time we would get on the elevator it would take us multiple floors up before going down. Not the worst thing in the world, but just annoying if you're in a rush to get somewhere. If you are looking for an affordable, centrally located hotel to stay with a friendly staff this hotel is your spot. You have multiple subway stations within a 1-2 minute walk which can easily get you to any neighborhood you want to go during your stay. Would definitely return!

Prime location! Modern, spacious rooms (for the city)!…read more The elevators though.... Oy. I stayed at this hotel over the New Years holiday and was thrilled to be so close to Madison Square Garden and Times Square. As was expected, check in was a bit chaotic given the time of year. The ground floor entrance was PACKED with luggage on first arrival. After weaving our way through, we located the check-in desk on the 5th or 6th floor. Tons of people but adequate seating to wait for our room to be ready. An upper floor meant having to figure out their dreaded elevator system. It left something to be desired, to say the least. With only 3 elevators that service the whole of the hotel, and a 4th that goes who knows where, it was almost always a lengthy struggle to catch one. No buttons on the interior of the carriage, all elevators were called with a touchscreen device that seemingly tried to pack as many people as possible into one small space, leaving many behind that couldn't fit, before directing the passengers to another elevator to repeat the whole process over again. One day was so bad, it was actually preferable to walk up the stairs to the 14th floor. Woof. The room itself was wonderful. Spacious, with 2 beds. Very clean. Beautiful view of the city and the arena next door. Great way to catch the sun set. Walk in shower with both an overhead and handheld shower attachment. Great lighting. Shower had heavily frosted glass that faced the bedroom area so be prepared for your silhouette to be on full display for anyone you may be rooming with. Nice sized closet, safe, and mini fridge. Big flat screen television. Window shade worked very well to block out the light if you're hoping to sleep in late. Walls can be a bit thin, especially if you have a rowdy bunch of kids right next door as we did. Aside from the elevators, the perks far outweighed the usual peskier elements (e.g., noise, etc.) one encounters when staying away from home. Would stay here again, perhaps during a less busy time of year, if that's even possible.

This is a bustling hotel with a large lobby. I visited for a conference. The hotel has a couple of…read moreexits, but the main entrance is on 6th avenue. All the meeting rooms were clean and organized. We had over 1,000 conference attendees and needed ample space and everything went pretty smoothly. Temperature control was generally good, but got a tiny bit chilly at certain points of the day. The staff were extremely prompt with setting up and removing catering food, but were not the friendliest. They have a free standing pumping station for those that need it. It was easy to access and decently clean, but could've used a wipe down by the second day. They provided a mini fridge in one of the meeting rooms for storage.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! DO NOT BOOK HERE!…read more I came here around April for a work trip and no where on the reservation page did it say that the hotel was under construction. They also offered the price including breakfast. Arrived at the hotel and saw that they only had one working elevator for a hotel that was over 20 floors high. There was a line for the elevator that you had to wait for at least 20 minutes to take. I asked the about the breakfast and they said the restaurant was closed so no hot breakfast. Why is this hotel offering a room rate price with breakfast when there is no restaurant for breakfast?! They told me they had bagged breakfast, which was always gone and coffee was all gone too. Took over 10 minutes to wait for new coffee to arrive. Renovation work bright and early at 8am. I was offered loyalty points for compensation by the manager, Delanie, and these points never showed up. I was also mistakenly charged for drinking their water bottles when I didn't even touch those bottles. They never even told me that I was going to be charged after checking out. I just saw a random extra charge on my credit card. The manager, Delanie, had said this would be refunded, but never saw this refund come through just like the loyalty points.
