Stayed here for a night for a staycation. The hotel is located near several subway trains. Reception is located on the lower level. Staff checking in and out were nice. I requested a room with a good view, they set me up in 1002 on the 10th floor. Decent view facing Broadway. Rooms are very tiny. No room for anything except bed and a small stool. Bathroom has nice marble finishes but the shower is also very tiny. Bed was super comfortable however and I had a great sleep. 10th floor (their highest) was still noisy outside, as to be expected. Constant traffic and honking on broadway radiates up to the room. Room walls are paper thin. Heard the next room talking, and eventually heard the person next door snoring too. That's how bad their snoring was/how thin these walls are. Price point is pretty good for NYC, but that's because the rooms are so small. Getting off the elevator is like a maze, weaving through small hallways to get to your room. Onsite dining options are pretty good, especially Saint Tuesday the jazz club. Blue bottle coffee on site though no technically affiliated with the hotel. Nice lobby lounge area with many couches. Would stay here again read more

This review is just for the rooftop bar at the Walker Hotel. There's someone at the front of the hotel who can immediately guide you on where to go. It's an easy elevator ride up, then you're greeted by beautiful flowers as you make your way from the elevator to the bar. There are out door booths for larger groups then smaller high tables with bar stools, until finally you reach the bar with barstools all around the edge. It's a solid view of the city from the rooftop though the space is a little narrow to move around in. Bartenders were chill but attentive, regularly asking if we wanted another glass as the one in my hand became empty. My friend and I were here for happy hour after work on a weekday. They have a small selection of beers, one glass of white red and rose, some cocktails, and finger foods as part of their happy hour. I think there's more options but this is all we got. Their fries were pretty good actually, I was delightfully surprised. Would return during nice weather :) read more

I stayed at Walker Hotel Tribeca for two nights last weekend. The room was affordable and tiny, but comfortable. (I feel like I should note that the bed was lofted, so this wouldn't be a good room for anyone with mobility issues. I'm only five feet tall, so I had to kind of climb up to bed each night.) The room was pretty tight but was more than comfortable for a solo weekend. The location is okay. It's definitely convenient as far as subway lines go - several stations and lines are very accessible, making it easy to get other neighborhoods. And there a lot bars and restaurants in the area (I walked to both my dinner restaurants). On the other hand, it's not my favorite neighborhood to stay in. The sidewalks just around the entrance of the hotel are filled with vendors selling knockoff bags and watches, and the street the hotel entrance is on was littered with a significant amount of trash. The staff were very friendly and helpful at check in and check out. There's a coffeeshop in the lobby, and it was nice to be able to grab a coffee to go on my way out in the morning. So, I love the lobby and the vibe of the hotel but, no pun intended, if you have to use the toilet in your room good luck. Why they chose sliding door for such a small room is baffling to me. Single ppl enjoy. But couple should stay away. Your significant other literally has to hear you fart, shit , squeeze while you on the toilet and even worse they can make eye contact with you the entire time. My lady and I had to leave our $200 plus a night room to use the bathroom down stairs in peace. Such an over site. Sliding door at whack for a bathroom made of pure marble. Literally the Squeezing of my Anal sphincter echoes into the room like some kind of Fart cave opera. Won't be staying here until they upgrade the door to shut like normal. read more

3 stars, came to the Flower Shop Rooftop Bar for drinks after a team building event at Live Axe about 2 short blocks away. The hotel looked "ok" although the roof top bar appears to be more of an afterthought. The bar tender was nice although at no time did anyone come over and offer help. We were there for about 45 minutes before anyone cleared the previous groups drinks. We were a group of 8, had to go to the bar to purchase drinks. They were honest and said the frozen margaritas were like water so we ordered regular margaritas. You will pay Manhattan prices for drinks so realize the attraction is the view, the flowers if you are into that and an opportunity to be " up on the roof". I would recommend them for the view and to just " hang out" with friends. There are so many more choices in Brooklyn or Manhattan. read more

The only housekeeping I got was my trash taken out and they left the trash can lid on top of the desk chair (gross). Walls were somewhat unfinished like they hadn't finished renos. Window was extremity dirty on outside. Paid extra for breakfast which is a weak coffee and a pastry ... um, that's not a breakfast people! Although I will say that chocolate croissant is really good. Roof had a great view, but they kick you out when they stop serving alcohol (by playing "Closing Time" on blast repeatedly and then telling you to leave). So... there are better options. read more

The 6ft lady at the front right now 7/15 @ 8:13pm is so rude. She saw me standing at the front waiting to order a drink. Walked by twice. Went to go chat with other workers at the restaurant and I walked in asking if I can order something and she cut me off before I could finish saying "it's closed, it's closed" like brushing me off. Not even making eye contact and walked past me. Where's her customer service skills? It's my first time here on a work trip and I don't know what places are open, closed or what they serve. I wanted to get a damn matcha cause I'm jet lagged. Thanks to her I won't be recommending my colleagues to stay here nor will i ever come back. We went here for a drink as we were supposed to go next door to Saint Tuesday and they were catering to a private party for a 25 year old. So we went in here and celebrated to my birthday here! We toasted and laughed and had a good time! I can only comment on this aspect of the hotel as we didn't stay here. I wish they stayed open later but it didn't. Front desk: Unfriendly staff, especially the woman and the main manager guy (the guy in the suit) at the front desk. Upon checking in, there was a mix up and misinformation regarding my work stay & incident fees...which I also did my part the day before flying in from LA to make sure they got everything. Someone said they did and when I arrived I wasted a whole hour and 15 mins waiting for my travel agency and their staff to understand to let me in my room. No apologies from neither the female or the guy in the suit besides the younger gentlemen did applogize once. And just like the past reviews - it is true that most of the staff is rude or very short with their answers with no real solutions. The only person that was polite was the younger black man whom I first initially met. It just the rude attitude from the woman herself during it and no sense of remorse. Only if there was...it was till after the billing was settle she gave me some info for the hotel. I think if anything I was more understanding, apologizing, and I was the one giving the customer service back towards them. The room itself: It is a really small room, it would be hard for two people to get ready and move around together. Although I am very much aware that the new york would have generally have small spaces and I was prepared for that. I just thought it was amusing that from the door all you have to do is walk 4 steps and thats it. Basically the bed takes up the majority if your room. I had housekeeping clean one day during my 5 night stay and they didnt even change the bedsheets and give me refills of my bath soap, the button switch in the bathroom kept falling off (not my fault btw- it was already like that), and I dont know...as this was my first trip to NYC ever and not only was that a bad first impression from the staff (which I will say every NY local Ive met has been super nice)...it really did not start off my trip on the right foot. Honestly...If this was my personal vacation stay then I would be so pissed off and I would highly recommend going elsewhere and spending wisely or a little more for something better. The Walker Hotel Tribeca was lovely. The mid century modern vibe is exactly as advertised, and the lobby is impeccable. The cafe and ground-floor bar are so convenient, as well as the nearby subway hub on Canal Street. I was surprised to hear the rooftop bar is also open until 2am (though it closed early on us due to weather). Pro Tip: the stairwell to the roof is unlocked! Location is great right at the corner of Chinatown, Little Italy, SoHo and Tribeca. Although rooms are small and cleaning could be improved, they work well and have lots of hidden storage. I love this place - stay here whenever I come to NY for work. The rooms are small but well appointed with comfy beds, nice linens, good toiletries and everything always works as you'd need. The front of house staff are welcoming and helpful. There is the downstairs lobby area if you need to do some work and grab a coffee. It's a short stroll to soho or noho or les and tonnes of great restaurants & bars. It's perfect for solo travellers. Nice Hotel in the heart of tribeca. The room is rather compact but the space is used beautifully considering how little space is actually used. The windows were large and let in tons of light. But they are not well insulated and you can hear lots of street noise even five floors up. Lovely marble bath/shower stall with rain shower head. *sigh* I went in with high expectations with all the nice reviews and pictures. Maybe next time I need to go in with the lowest expectations there is. Checked in this past Friday for the Labor Day weekend. Really huge and impressive lobby that unfortunately couldn't be utilized due to COVID-19. Pleasant check-in experience. I had a Full room booked. He told me that it looks like I was getting an upgrade. Sweet! Always like to hear those words. Handed me my card key to my room on the 4th floor and I headed up. I get in the room and just had to laugh. Its seriously the size of a closet. I know its N.Y.C. and all and they're trying to utilize space, but that room was ridiculous. It was also the Full room I booked, not the "upgrade" he said I was getting. Why say that when it clearly WASN'T an upgrade?! That was the first thing to irk me. As I slowly turned around in the room to inspect everything as I usually do in hotels, I noticed something on the bed. Upon further inspection I noticed it moving. Whipped out my camera to take a picture and there it was. A freaking bed bug! I gathered my things and went down stairs. I didn't even say anything to the check-in guy. Just showed him my phone. He didn't seem horrified or surprised as I would have thought. Just gave me a different room on a different floor and asked me to text him the picture. Now, I guess a normal person would have asked for a refund and ran for the hills. I was just so exhausted and needed to sleep desperately that I gave another chance. Gave me a room on the 6th floor. Now THAT was an upgraded room. I inspected everything from top to bottom. No bed bugs in this room, but the room was FAR from clean. Stain on the sheet. I found a FINGERNAIL under the pillow! The space between the window and bed was filthy. Really disappointing. In these times of COVID, every hotel I've been in has been SQUEAKY clean. Wish this place took those precautions. I mean, you know they don't otherwise they would have found that bed bug before I did. The C.O. Bigelow products in the room were nice. Room didn't have a clock which was weird. They had Garnier slippers and a bathrobe. I really didn't want to try them because I was too icked out, but after inspection, I used them. That bathrobe is super comfy!! No great view here. The location is convenient and the subway station with many train lines are right around the corner on Canal. My stay was just eh. You know what? Visitor beware. I had a business stay recently. My company pre-paid, and at check-in, I was told the company was already charged, and I'm just putting down my personal card for incidentals. Nothing happened at check out or after: No receipt, no extra notes, no receipt later in email. Fine. Problem 1: Lo and behold, the Walker charged the whole stay to my personal card. Problem 2: I only found this out upon viewing my credit card statement at the end of the month. Never got a receipt or any notification whatsoever that I was charged personally. I called and described the situation, and they said it was a computer error and would reverse the charge. OK. But whoa whoa whoa -- was my company still charged? Did you double-charge us without a receipt? Problem 3: Yup. And it's like there a computer program electro-prodding the person on the phone to not use certain language. "Were we double-charged?" "We are reversing yours." "But was my company also charged?" "We routed it incorrectly. We will send you the revised receipt." "OK, but I was told my company was charged. Are you charging them now, or were they already charged?" "We can send the receipt wherever you want." "Uh huh. Because I never got one in the first place. But what I'm saying here, and I'm just making sure, is that I was told my company was already charged when I walked in. So how did I then get personally charged if it was accidentally routed to me? Does that mean my company was not charged and you're charging them now? Or that you actually double-charged us?" "It was a computer error. It was routed wrong. We'll send you the receipt." "(repeat of the question above using short, clipped sentences)" "(finally relenting but showing no lowering of the wall) You were double-charged." "OK. So, great, we found out. I'm being refunded. But, isn't that a major issue? I didn't receive a receipt and only found this out by carefully reviewing my statement. Not everyone would. Will this be reviewed?" "We will send you the receipt." "NO. What I'm saying is: This was pretty random. Standard stay, no issues, so does this happen to anyone else?" "It was a computer error." "RIGHT. But could you please take this up for feedback? I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else." "We apologize." "... but what I'm saying is ... nothing to do with me anymore ... could you please review this seriously? This is a pretty major issue." "I understand." So, Problem 4: They're denying that there could be an issue, that they're responsible. Problem 5: Were they actually crossing their fingers hoping I wouldn't find out? Is this a scam? ... Problem 6: At fucking $450 per night, it's a fucking bed, a sink, and a toilet, and about 4 square feet of standing space. That's it. You climb on the bed to reach the window to shut out the crack addict noise and the sewer steam, reach the remote, reach the lights. The '80s light controls barely work. I pressed No Service and found my stuff re-arranged when I came back. What the fuck. Despite the neo-craftsman hipster lounge that takes a few good photos, I say haaaaail no to this place. So, here's the consequence to your nonchalant, disrespectful, unapologetic potential-cover up: You're now on the Avoid list for my company. And at your prices for a bed and a sink, that will probably cost you a few hundred thousand. Lovely. read more

I checked into the Walker Hotel Tribeca on Friday 10/01 and was planning on staying for a week. On Mon 10/04, I started getting bites on my ankles. Tuesday 10/05 I started to feel raised bumps on my arm and on Wed the bites were painful and itchy. I asked for a new room and got placed in a new room. At this point I was hoping they were hives or an allergic reaction. I submitted pictures to a dermatologist through the teladoc service through my insurance and she responded right away that the bites were most likely bed bug bites. I learned that bed bugs bite in a line called "breakfast, lunch, dinner" configuration (you can see this along my elbow in the attached pictures). I immediately notified the front desk and checked out of the hotel. I was supposed to stay at friends' places for the rest of my stay but couldn't risk bringing bed bugs to their homes so had to buy a new flight home earlier than expected. The hotel said that in order for me to get a refund they were having an inspection done of the room. They would refund me if they found bed bugs but if they didn't, i would still have to pay the full amount. They called me the next day and said they didn't find evidence of bed bugs and they offered a discount on my next stay. I understand that they have to protect themself from saying they are at fault; however, given that I incurred the costs of medical appt, medication, new flight, new hotel, cleaning supplies, laundromat, dry cleaning, new luggage, plus cutting my trip short it is very, very painful for me that I still have to give them over $1,000. Some things I've learned: 1. Even seemingly nice hotels can have bed bugs 2. Always do your own check. When I left the room, I was really hoping they were hives so didn't check myself. I'm also going to do a thorough check every time i get to a new hotel. 3. Don't get too upset about things that you can't control. read more

I booked this trip for work due to proximity, and I loved it. I looked at a lot of reviews and honestly, was not super sure due to various good and below average reviews, but I only had the best experience with the staff, room, cleanliness, etc. The bookings are clear on how big they are - 190SF for the Cortland Corner King I booked. That is small, yes, but it is NYC, and also not too small at all. Again, they tell you this in the booking, so no surprises. The 3 windows in the corner room make it feel bigger too, so I recommend booking a Cortland Corner King room (the description in booking also clarified 3 windows, as opposed to 1). Shower was incredible - hot water and great pressure. I was on the 4th floor (of 10) but the view was still nice of the buildings around me. I am sure a higher floor would be even better. Only comments on the room for improvement is that the outside glass of the windows were filthy, so it blocked some of the view / not good for taking a photo of the window views, and then there is really no place to hang towels by the sink - would be easy to add those to the rooms so there is a place to set wet / drying towels (there is 1 hook in the bathroom right next to the toilet - not an ideal hygienic place to set a hand or face towel). Lastly, no mini fridge for food leftovers, drinks, etc. That is a nice feature when traveling alone and not being able to finish a meal, but wanting to save for later. The staff was very friendly and I interreacted with at least 5 different people between the desk staff and the bellhops / doormen throughout my stay (no issues - just check in, random questions, and holding my baggage). Blue Bottle in their lobby is a great amenity. I had coffee there all three days, and worked from there prior to my check in after I landed. Many options for sitting / lounging / working. I was there the last day the rooftop bar (Honey Be?) was open for the season, and this is the only part of the hotel where the staff was not super friendly. The male bartender was great, but there was a female bartender who was simply not enjoying being there and did not care to offer any type of friendly service. No bother, I got two yummy (but overpriced) drinks and beautiful views of the city, so not a huge bummer. Lastly, the small bar below the hotel was incredible - I went 2 nights in a row, and two different bands were playing wonderful live instrumental music (jazz both times). Again, the drinks are pricey, but they also offer beer and wine at a bit lower of a price point if wanting to just hang there and listen to music without spending way too much. open until 2am as well. Overall, I loved my stay here, and would 10/10 book again in a Cortland Corner King. read more

Very impressed by the service at this establishment. Kyle, the host, was such a kind and welcoming face. He had great recommendations and encouraged we check out the rooftop - so adorable! Going to tell our friends to see it sometime. Matthew, the bartender at the restaurant was also such a kind soul. I wish I had gotten the bellman's name, he was hilarious! My only criticism is the pillows in the bedrooms, very lumpy and uncomfortable but the mattress and room itself was great! Great shower. Every year we take a trip to NYC for a little getaway. I was excited for our first stay in Tribeca and curious about our experience at this family-owned hotel. What can I say, they easily exceeded my expectations. From the moment we checked in there was something far less clinical, far less scripted about Walker Hotel Tribeca. Although the staff was attentive and kind, they exuded realness showing their unique personalities and sense of style. Each demonstrated an eagerness to help us have the best time exploring Tribeca. What a neighborhood it is! Great hidden gems for delicious food and cocktails, a healthy-foods grocery store and you can't beat Blue Bottle Coffee in the lobby of the hotel itself. Make sure to grab coffee in the lobby and enjoy a comfortable couch for great people watching and by all means, spend some time with Chris in the bar! If you are not one for stuffy hotel stays with employees in matching uniforms who talk to you with memorized lines, this is the place for you to connect with humanity. It is a great hotel run by real people that clearly believe in community. A special shout-out goes to Edgar, Kat, and Chris who made us feel like family. It was my first time visiting New York and I stumbled upon this beautiful boutique hotel online. I stayed here for 4 nights and it was the best decision I made. Disregard the comments about the size of the room. The room is a cozy size, there are compartments for all your luggage/bags, it is tech-savvy, and the beds are extremely comfortable. The staff always made sure my stay was going well and that we had water in the room. The lobby and main seating area are exceptionally beautiful. They did an amazing job on their interior design. I had the opportunity to speak to a lady who is part of the marketing and interior design team. We had a lovely talk about the design that went into making the hotel. The seating area on the 2nd floor is a great spot to unwind and have a cocktail or coffee during your stay. Choose this hotel instead of the other chain hotels in NY. Incredible hospitality, great view and walking distance to a lot! The manager was amazing and made my daughter and I feel so special! He gave us a tour of the roof which is beyond perfection with a panoramic view of the city and made sure to check on us if we needed anything. We were treated so well and room was cute, well designed and clean with a lovely view of the city. The room size was typical of manhattan hotels. So far, so good. From the moment of our arrival we were treated well by staff. Even before any tips started to flow, the bellhop and receptionist were already making our arrival as comfortable as possible. Early check in was available, but the receptionist advised us that the only room ready at that moment would be on the 3rd floor. So we could choose to take a low floor now and settle in, or if we weren't in a rush to wait until later in the day for a higher floor. She offered to call us when another room was ready. So after we checked our bags in, my wife and I were able to go out for lunch and drop off our dry cleaning, instead of waiting around in the lobby for an unknown amount of time. This caveat of service is a huge step above many other hotels that tell you to "come back later" with no indication of when a room will open. I appreciate Walker Hotel's forward-thinking attitude toward guest service. The lobby area is spacious enough to accompany multiple groups of guests. There is a large work space available for those that prefer to go on their laptop to work while waiting around. And multiple wall outlets are available throughout the seating area as well. Walker Hotel has a very unique lobby setup with the front door being on ground level, a cafe one floor above, and the receptionist desk below. Plenty of space to unwind while waiting for check in. The King room itself is setup in a way that utilizes all the space allotted to maximize itself. The shower room is huge, and reminiscent of my luxury condo unit. Guests will enjoy the shower head mounted in the ceiling, giving them that premium rainfall experience. The lights, window shades, do not disturb and turndown service buttons are all controlled by the digital consoles around the room. This gives each unit a high tech feel and modern ambience. Hotel is fantastic cant say enough good things about my stay here. I have lived in NYC for a few years and I was just coming back to visit friends. I booked for almost two weeks and experience the most attentive staff. Edwin I believe was working the desk when I checked in and I did not realized that I had left a note on the reservation about being on a higher floor with a view. He came through, had a great view of the city! I also recommend upgrading to the king size bed for the space. The room was cleaned and stocked with water every time I came back for my city adventures. The hotel also has a roof top bar/garden, a café on the first floor and a secret bar. If you are nice to the host they'll reserve a table for you. The gym that nobody used served a great purpose for me as well! The only thing that was a little odd was that the front desk check in is located down starts from the lobby. It was my first time there and was unsure on how to get down the stairs with my luggage. Struggled a little but survived. Tip the elevator located behind the cafe! read more
