Chose this hotel as a Hyatt member as I wanted a bit of a nicer hotel for our NYC stay. We had a bit of a mixed experience here... First off I will start by saying that the hotel staff was amazing throughout the entirety of our stay. They were very helpful and handled us with grace because of the problems that we ran into. Now onto the problems. We were given a room on the 20th floor to start off, which was great for our first four nights. But the fifth night fell on a Friday, and apparently their rooftop bar (which is run by a third party) plays loud music until 2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. I get it, it's New York City, we didn't even try to go to bed until after midnight. But it's a bit incomprehensible to me that a HOTEL would allow any kind of loud music/noise that late into the night much less 2 or 3 AM. The music was so loud that our room was vibrating and you could hear footsteps of dancing people above our bathroom. We ended up switching rooms in the middle of the night. To the staff's credit, they seemed to do everything they could to remediate the issue and tell the bar to turn the volume down to no avail. They also did issue us a refund and upgrade for the inconvenience, but the loss of a full nights sleep is pretty rough. Other than that the hotel was great. It is conveniently located within 10 mins walk of the Canal St and Grand St Subway station, and within steps of amazing Chinatown food. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated, with great views of Manhattan. Breakfast at the rooftop bar is great, and there is a free coffee bar up there too. This could have been a great stay if it weren't for that night, I hope the hotel or Hyatt implements changes to the rooftop bar in the future for more reasonable hours and more control of the music. I don't think any paying hotel guest should have to deal with what we did. Also it's something to note if you are staying at a high floor on a Friday or Saturday, you may run into the same issues we did unfortunately. read more

Just finished a quick stay at the Hotel 59 Bowery and here are some of my thoughts. 1 - Location: in the heart of Chinatown, right at the foot of the Manhattan Bridge. It's perfectly situated to access uptown, downtown, Brooklyn and Jersey City. Plus, if you want to explore Chinatown, but still be within walking distance to SoHo or the village, this is wheee you want to be. 2 - Vibe: urban industrial chic, the space exudes loft living with industrial elements like exposed brick, concrete and hard wood floors. There are numerous design elements that really sets this place apart from your normal cookie cutter hotels. 3 - Service: friendly and attentive, they really demonstrated why the Hyatt brand is and will always be appealing to the loyalist masses. Friendly service along with loyalty recognition. 4 - Rooms: they were not large, but in line with what one would expect from rooms in New York City. The one knock I will give them is some of the door sound proofing can be thickened as you can hear your neighbors entering and existing. Also, while I appreciated the city view upgrade, the window was smaller than expected. 5 - Elevator: it was a little bumpy and the fact that only one set of elevators can access the gym made access a little difficult since the elevators generally doesn't cooperate when needed. Overall, with the exception of a few eccentricities of the building, I would definitely stay here again. The view from the roof is unbeatable and the location is just so convenient. read more

We normally do day trips to NYC but this time around, we decided to book a one night stay at Hotel 50 Bowery so that we could explore the city a little more! The room was so cute! Pretty spacious & had a lovely bathroom. Found it to be very clean and was a comfortable stay. Why I'm deciding to give them a 3-star rating is mostly due to the front desk being a little difficult to communicate with. I guess when we arrived here for check-in, all of the nearby parking garages do not allow overnight parking & the garage the hotel uses is ~5-10 min walk away. The front desk associate that helped us initially told us the parking fee was going to be $75 (normally $50 but we arrived after hours)... after checking the credit card transaction hours later, there was a $150 processing charge. We were able to talk to the hotel staff about this & they claimed they would handle it before we checked out... ended up being charged $90. It's not so much about the price, but seriously? I can't say I'm a fan of when random numbers are just thrown around & being charged more than the original amount w/o valid reasoning. I would say, it's a nice stay if you're looking for a hotel nearby Manhattan Chinatown but if you're traveling w/ a car, do some research beforehand for better parking. ***Right next to Joe Shanghai, near lots of great restaurants, & walking distance to SoHo*** read more

Hotel 50 Bowery was a great stay. Front desk staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Extra pillows and towels were sent quickly upon request. Elevators were slow, as one was out of service. The location is perfect. The room was very clean, which I was thrilled about. It had enough space for two people. I loved the shower. Makeup mirror was the appropriate height to do makeup and the lighting wasn't bad. Bed was comfy. Some wall hooks near the entryway would've been appreciated though. We had a great view. I was not thrilled about the HVAC, which vibrated/rattled loudly. I would've asked for a different room, but by the time I realized, I was already unpacked and showered. The thermostat doesn't go below 65, so I could never stay here in warm weather, but I'd happily return during other times. read more

We had a great experience staying at Hotel 50 for the remainder of our NY trip. It is in a super convenient location right in Chinatown and within walking distance to lots of popular food shops. The staff has been very attentive and would send texts to check in on us throughout our stay to see if there were any issues. They held our luggage for us until our room was ready. We stayed on the 15th floor and had a view of the city and Chinatown. They provided us complimentary water and even a bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. There is complimentary coffee, tea, and a water refill station on the second floor. They have lots of lawn games to play and seating if you want to just chill. They have a nice rooftop bar/restaurant with great views as well. In our room, it can get a little noisy as the hotel is located in a busy area. Even after midnight, you can still hear cars honking outside but it didn't affect us too much. Definitely recommend staying here if you want to be around the Chinatown area! read more

I had a great day at hotel 50 Bowery in New York. I arrived late from California around 10 PM and the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming. Ricky at the front desk was especially helpful and made the check-in experience smooth after a long travel day. He gave me a beautiful room with a great view of the Manhattan Bridge, which was a nice surprise. Ricky also recommended a small noodle shop about three minutes away from the hotel, which was perfect for a late dinner. The hotel is located right by Chinatown, which is a truly a foodie Haven with so many great spots within walking distance. In the morning, the hotel offered complementary tea and coffee, which was a nice touch before heading out for the day. My room was clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure always appreciate after a long flight. Another thing I really appreciate was a helpful tip from Kim at the front desk. I was about to order an Uber to JFK, which was showing around $120 but he let me know that New York taxis have a flat rate of $75 to JFK. That tip alone save me quite a bit! My ride took about 1 1/2 hours leaving around 2 PM. Overall, the service, Location, and the comfort made this a wonderful state. If you appreciate quiet, this is a terrible place to stay. There is a club, on the ground floor, that blares loud, bass-driven music, accompanied by shouting and screaming, the sound of which makes the sidewalk out front a club feel in itself, and which travels up the elevator shafts to guest rooms. And this is even during the day. A nap was impossible. A nice hotel, well-appointed rooms, but truly obnoxiously noisy. read more

I stayed at Hotel 50 Bowery for one night and really wish I had chosen somewhere else. When I checked in, I was actually excited. They gave me a complimentary upgrade to a nicer room, which felt like a great start. But that feeling disappeared pretty quickly once I saw the bathroom. There was a lot of hair in the shower, like it hadn't been cleaned at all. Then, while I was showering, a bug crawled onto my shoulder. I immediately called the front desk and asked if someone could come check the room for bed bugs or anything else. The hotel manager told me it's "common" for bugs to come up through the shower drain... I've honestly never heard that before? I asked to switch rooms, the whole situation made me feel really uncomfortable and unclean. I checked out the next morning and still paid full price for the night. The manager apologized for the "inconvenience," but that was it. For a hotel at this price point, I expected way more. Wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Would definetly recommend this place just from the experience with them. They were clear with charges, and very helpful on our accomodations for holding our bags before and after checking in & checking out, cabs, hot water, etc. We had no issues there! The view was awesome. Definetly try to get a room with a view and it was so quiet once in the room. We heard no outside noise. We wish they had the coffee and amenities stocked 24/7, but there's some periods where they do not have them. The room was just fine, yes, it could have used a little more storage or shelving, along with a thicker or more sound proof door (no we didnt hear much but yes you could hear through the door easily) but we made do since it was clean, tidy and simple. This was a cute little hotel located in Chinatown with easy walking access to the financial district. I love that the subway was several blocks away, so easy to get around and venture uptown or into the Bronx or Brooklyn. there are also several awesome spots to grab a quick bite in Chinatown there are within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel was clean and really cute and chic. it's New York, the hotels in general are pretty small, but it wasn't loud or didn't hear anyone at all hours of the night. I'd love that they had a little courtyard with games for folks who want to play. There's also a rooftop bar that turns into a club on some nights, but even with that I didn't hear a lot of noise. Staff was very nice and gracious and attentive and I love that there was security as you enter and you had to use your room key to access the floors. We stayed here for seven nights 12/18-12/24/24. The good: in the middle of a lot going on, including some great dimsum restaurants. The staff is very nice, hotel is clean, moody, and comfortable with larger than normal rooms for NYC. The subway stations are about a 5 minute walk, so very convenient to go anywhere you wish. The daily access to complimentary newspapers, hot chocolate, coffee, etc was WONDERFUL because we always sleep past breakfast. The water is given freely, when you ask, and you can refill it yourself (NYC tap water is great). The decor is great: love the white sheets, the wall art, and the stone in the shower. The closet was nice, but needs drawers. Toilet worked well, water pressure was fine in our shower, bed comfortable, mini fridge is empty so you can fill it with your leftovers and use the microwave on the 2nd floor at any hour - all great! We are Hyatt Explorist level, but were gifted a GOH certificate for our stay, giving us zero destination fees (saved us about $250 total), free daily breakfast (2 options: delivery from the restaurant next door or a continental buffet), free parking (we didn't need), and a suite upgrade, if available. The bad: I inquired about the suite upgrade and requested a city view via email before checking in and they proactively said there were no suites to put us in, but they "upgraded us" to a Manhattan Bridge View. I reminded them we did not want a view of the bridge, but we preferred a view of the city. I checked and there was that upgrade available, which would have cost ~$30/nt more. It was a bit frustrating they didn't offer that to us after my first email and that I had to figure out if it was available (by trying to make a second reservation online) and then had to ask for it again. If we are on a Globalist level (via the award), why make us jump through extra hoops? That put a bad taste in my mouth before we arrived. When we checked in on the 18th, the front desk person gave us a room on the 17th floor with a city view, but the room smelled very strongly of smoke and mildew, so we immediately returned to get a new room we could breath in. She said they had one "with an even better view" on the 9th floor...Room 926. She thought this was better because it is a straight on view versus the room on the 17th floor, which was smaller and kind of cramped into a corner (see pics). Again, why try to give us a less desirable room when you are supposed to be treating us like a Globalist? Strange business practice. We stayed in Room 926. There are so many opportunities to take this from a 4 star room to a 5 star room... There is literally nowhere to put your stuff. There is ONE small drawer above the minifridge that fit my underwear, socks, and bras. My husband had to keep everything in his suitcase. Each nightstand has the smallest two drawers I have ever seen in my life... I fit some cords, my daily pills and cough drops in them (no clothes would fit at all). There is ONE hook in the bathroom, but there are two of us, so one person has to have their towel stay wet under the other...why not add another hook for $3?!? The bathroom vanity has zero drawers or storage space for your stuff. So frustrating as a girl. Why not add a shelf or two so two people can have their toiletries accessible? A week living out of my toiletry bag wasn't ideal. Same for in the shower... the "shelf" barely fits the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles they provide, but zero room for anything you bring...why not add another shelf or two so we don't have to put our stuff on the floor where strangers dirty feet were?? I chose to take my stuff in and out of the shower stall because I refuse to put my stuff on the gross floor. There was a lot of black mold on the stone walls, so I'm sure there was a lot more on the ground. They need to do better at scrubbing the tiles so there is no mold. Big TV, but very strange it is not a smart TV so you can't log into your own Netflix or anything. The lighting is really bad for trying to do makeup. The mirror that is near the windows is a decorative mirror, not a functional one. The mirror that is functional is too far away from a light source to see well enough to do makeup. The bathroom mirror somewhat works, but still not ideal. Swap out the decorative mirror with a functional one near the windows and there would be no issue. Overall, the stay was good for a weekend. Hotel 5o Bowery is an upscale boutique hotel with a great view of the city at an affordable price. It's located in the heart of downtown NYC. They have plenty of amenities such as free WiFi, Fitness room, Breakfast drinks, laundry, concierge and pet friendly. The hotel room has Sealy brand beds, 43" flat-screen TV In-room safe, plush robe, art wall, rainfall shower, hair dryer, wooden hangers, and mirrors. Moreover, we were disappointed to see that some bathroom tiles and mirror have scratch marks. The bedroom size was roughly 260 sq ft. The best part of the room was it has the view of the city. Staff were cordial, competent and professional. Check-In and check-out was a breeze. As for the price it's one of the best and affordable hotels in the city. Hotel 50 Bowery has gone downhill since my last stay in 2018. The rooms have not been well maintained or updated, and the property has become quite run down. Pros: location, view, price. If you like to spend time in Chinatown, SoHo, and/or the Lower East Side, the location is ideal. The Manhattan Bridge is steps away, so it's easy to get to Brooklyn as well. Rates are competitive, and the rooms do offer beautiful views. The staff are also friendly. Cons: everything else. I stayed here twice in December, and was surprised at the deteriorated quality of plumbing, linens, furniture, and soundproofing. The shower drains were clogged in both rooms. The sheets were thin and stiff. Lots of noise, even on a high floor. Hotel 50 Bowery is now on par with a Holiday Inn. read more

Location, first and foremost, was everything for me. Wanted to be near Mott Street after finishing the book of same name. Came to City during scorcher week. Ice and AC imperative! But for me, I need a place with fluffy towels, and theirs was frankly like a days Inn. Very sad. Grout was dirty, but AC machine was very strong. Came here for an overnight staycation with bf and dog. Love that this hotel is pet friendly and there's no fee for your pet's stay which is so cool! They provide dog beds and bowls if needed as well. It's located in the heart of china town so street parking is a little intense with the meter but they do offer valet and there's a parking garage next door if needed. We opted out for the street parking. Check in was easy so was check out. In town for a wedding so I chose one of the nearby hotels with good Yelp reviews and with a brand rewards program. Everyone on the staff from the Doorman upon arrival to the front desk and maintenance staff working at the elevators was pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional. Several are multilingual and all are knowledgeable about the hotel and environs. The room was spotless and I liked having real glassware in the room. Only needed more towels and a slight bit of maintenance (my fault for moving the mini fridge by accident), and both needs were met within 5 minutes with a smile. Just 400 feet outside the door is an excellent Cantonese restaurant called NB Wing Wong where you can eat in or take out between 8am-7pm everyday! There is a mini fridge in the room and you can pick up your water or soda at the restaurant too. The room comes with a steamer for your clothes and a nice robe. Nice touch of having water bottles handed out upon check-in and coffee and tea offered gratis until 4pm. If you want more curated coffee, they offer a daily coupon for $5 off at Koré coffee at the front desk (shop is around the corner). read more

This hotel is right in the heart of Manhattan's China town so come hungry because the best Chinese food in America is just around the corner. First time in New York. Stayed at the 50 Bowery Hotel based on a friends recommendation. I wasn't disappointed! From what I've heard, most typical hotel rooms in NY are tiny. To the point where you can hardly open your luggage and or find it hard to move around in. Not here. The room was spacious. Plenty of room for my luggage. Ample amount of closet space. The room itself was clean, modern, and functional. The room does have an in room safe and refrigerator. On the first day, I opened the fridge to a nice surprise. Complimentary mini whiskey and margarita, as well as unlimited bottles of water that you can get at the front desk at any time. The king bed I had was super comfortable. The towels were just fine. The rain shower had pretty good water pressure and the included soaps and shampoos smelled really good. The rooftop bar (Crown) was great! Awesome views of the city. The staff at The Crown on the other hand, wasn't so great in terms of friendliness. But all other hotel staff members were. This hotel is located in Chinatown and is in a safe area to walk in at all hours in my opinion. There's a 2nd floor terrace area with lounge seats, games, etc. great place to bring your food as well if you Uber Eats food to the hotel. Definitely would return here whenever I come back to NYC. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel 50 Bowery! The location is great for enjoying Chinatown, Little Italy, and Soho. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The hotel is clean and modern with lovely touches that incorporate the surrounding neighborhood. My room was large by NYC standards and the view of the Empire State Building was incredible. I appreciated the floor-to-ceiling windows to take in as much of the skyline as possible. The bathroom is also large and beautifully appointed. Jonathan Adler bath amenities are provided. The closet/wardrobe is large and includes a beautiful dragon-emblazoned robe, an umbrella, and a steamer to use during your stay. Coffee and tea services are provided each morning in the lobby. The Crown is the rooftop bar. The hotel even offers experiences for guests to participate in during their stay, like walking tours of the neighborhood, puppy yoga, and beginner martial arts. If I had to find a negative, I did spend most of one of my days working from my room. The oversized tv was right in front of the work area and even with the tv off, the proximity caused a headache/eye issues. More lighting for the work area would also help work after sundown. (I realize this is super picky and feel bad for writing anything negative). I would definitely return for future visits! read more

The room was fine, our night stand lights neither of which worked. Spacious and comfortable though. Water pressure was good for shower and we had what we needed. The part i didn't like was although the front desk associate was helpful and seemingly informed he told his valet parking would be $75 for one night which seemed super high for the area (i also had to come back downstairs to ask him as he did the ticket and all that without ever mentioning the price) normally it's like $50, but we arrived late night hours for check in from out of town and we drove our car down to the parking lot that they valet to, and walk a few blocks back ourselves. I didn't realize it until later but they charged my card $150 pending then $90 for the actual overnight parking for 6 hours lmao. Ridiculous if you ask me. My stay at Hotel 50 Bowery overlooking Manhattan was a restful one. Excellent customer service from check-in to check-out, I appreciate the rooftop bar and didn't have to venture too far out. The boutique hotel (JDV by Hyatt) is walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and greenspace. Rooms are quiet, comfortably spacious, and well appointed each equipped with digital safe too. Evening building entry after hours require access card. Valet parking only and is an extra cost per night. NYC is a very special place and glad I can count on Hotel 50 Bowery to be a place to stay when in town. read more

This is a great (and for New York), a reasonably priced hotel located right in front of the Manhattan bridge, so you will never get tired of the scenery there. It's in the a new building so you get quite a bit of elevation and you can watch the street scene for hours. The rooms are actually very spacious for New York. make sure you have your Hyatt membership ready and you will get hopefully a room upgrade. The rooms are also very comfortable and quiet so we've been using it quite a bit when we need to visit Brooklyn and the Manhattan. We haven't used many of the amenities mainly because there is so much to do with Chinatown and the Village literally minutes out the door, but really appreciate getting back to the peace and quite of the place. I'm a Hyatt member so I try to stay at any affiliate as much as possible. This hotel is located in Chinatown which may be about 20 minutes to Manhattan via subway. I traveled here solo and felt safe as Chinatown is pretty busy. My room was spacious for NY. The room was also nice (I wish I had recorded a video). Everything was clean and I felt comfortable sleeping here. My only complaint is how expensive a bottle of water is here - it was like $8! Anyway you can order breakfast and get free coffee/tea in the AM. There's also a number of restaurants within walking distance as well. The hotel is less than a 10 minute walk to the subway so pretty convenient, no need to Uber/Lyft anywhere. I wouldn't mind staying here again, I just felt that Chinatown was a little bit out of the way to the places I wanted to go to. Definitely consider staying here if you plan to visit NYC. read more

Stayed here for four nights back in June and it was wonderful! It's in an extremely walkable part of town (Chinatown) and you're steps away from tons of restaurants and Canal Street. The hotel was clean with a nice dark/modern vibe and great amenities. I really appreciated the bottles of water and mini margaritas waiting for me in the mini fridge. There's an awesome rooftop with a ping-pong table, games, etc. but I didn't get to enjoy them due to the heavy smoke during my visit. There's also free coffee, tea and fruit every morning and a little wine down in the afternoon. Everyone I interacted with was super friendly and helpful. I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked a last minute weekend getaway for me and my hubby literally the night before. We realized we needed to get out, no clue where, I had my awesome Hyatt Points to use, looked up a destination that was driving distance, clicked book, and here we are! Right off the bat I knew there wasn't parking on the property but there was the valet option to take your car offsite or you could walk to a nearby parking garage. We ended up finding easy street parking just 7 minutes from the hotel which also was ok to keep the car overnight so it was a win win! Walking in through chinatown in the middle of their celebration, confetti explosions, loud colors and vibrant energy gave us the welcoming we didn't even know we needed. It was so easy to get to the Hotel! I forgot to check in on my app so we checked in at the front desk and it was literally so fast and easy. We wanted a room with a view and hopefully in the higher floors and to our surprise, we got just that: a gorgeous room on the 20th floor with the view of Chinatown. By the time we checked in, it was time for the sun to depart so we were welcomed in our room with the most beautiful sunset. That itself was a 5 star view. The room was SPOTLESS. It was so refreshing to walk into a beautiful room with clean, crisp, air while welcoming us with really cute robes giving all the Chinatown vibes. Our coffee machine was available upon request so we did just that! They immediately brought it to our room along with the extra robe and bottled water. The staff was always so kind. We didn't get to see the workout area, totally tempted to go workout in their Peloton bikes but I preferred to get a little more sleep. Which by the way, was one of the best ever! Despite staying at the city that doesn't sleep with the commotion and chaos of the city life, the walls and windows were totally soundproof and the blackout curtains literally tucked us in the whole night. Make sure to check out THE CROWN at their rooftop bar with the most amazing views. It was too cold to sit outside but the view was well worth it. Complimentary coffee and tea is served all day until 4pm. You can also order breakfast to be brought right to your room. This was definitely one of my favorite stays: from the white, cozy, robes to the rainfall shower, sunset from the room to the disco ball at the bar, cozy sleep to drinking cozy coffee with a cozy snowfall view. Everything about this stay was perfect! Yes, it even snowed the morning we were checking out and we really got to enjoy everything about it! The only con is that I WISH we would've checked in sooner and stayed one more night to be able to fully enjoy the hotel. We did enjoy the city, the food and the bar! read more

I came here to get away from COVID, until it was safe to go back home. At first, I didn't realize this was the hotel in Chinatown, but I figured why not, it is pretty close to everything and few blocks away from Whole Foods. It was super convenient to get food, but my only complaint was it didn't have any proper cafes to get breakfast items. They do have Bake Culture right next door that I believe it was started off by Taiwanese pop stars, but I am not really into Asian bakeries. I would much prefer French patisseries to kick the morning off. Moving on, this place was clean and they are dog friendly, which I love and this is one of these reasons I selected this place for my baby and I. There was a little bit of dust on the headboard where the night lights are located and dust inside the closet rod, but other than they did a good job. My star off was that they do require you to wear a mask but some people were just hanging around the lobby without masks. Some of the staffs should also be self aware of their masks placements. It should always cover your nose properly. I am sorry, but we're in omicron world right now and they should remind people to put their masks on and I don't care if they're guests, because I am also a guest and I didn't run out of my house to go to a hotel where I can get COVID because people are too selfish and DGAF about people to properly wear a mask correctly. They offer Malin & Goetz toiletries which are nice, I used to work for them so I definitely appreciate their products. As for the bed, I thought it was super comfortable and I love the pillows. I checked the brand and it is Down & Etc. I am going to buy these pillows just because I had really good sleep here. I really enjoyed my sleep here. I haven't had this good of sleep for awhile now. The curtains really blocked out all the lights and I love how they have a space for your bath towels and hand and face towel to hang. I hate hotels where they don't offer places to hang your face and hand towels, but this place had it. I also appreciate the automatic lights inside the closet, because who wants a dark closet. They have a common area to get hot water and coffee, which I much prefer than the ones being offered in your room, because I wouldn't ever use those since I never know if they properly washed them or not. I didn't mind the size of the room and even if there was a second person rather than just my furbaby, I think it would have been okay as well. I would definitely come back here again and would recommend this hotel to my out of town friends. read more

Got to New York and checked into the 94th street East Marriott Courtyard on Friday for 4 nights. Checked out after two nights because the dang place is outdated as hell. Come on Marriott--pick up your game. I then booked the Bowery 50 down in the SOHO area--a 1000 times better night and day. Absolutely beautiful hotel --big time updated with terrific rooms. Check the view from my room --pic below. Huge Props to James at the front desk for being the kindest most professional human being we've run into since being in the Big Apple! I love this beautiful hotel. It's way better than what I had expected. It was listed as a lower east side hotel but it's really close to Chinatown. Millions of great restaurants nearby. I have stayed in a lot of hotels in NY, but for the value, this is top notch. I loved the roof top and also second floor, even the gym was great. The decor felt old 1930s Shanghai. Very cute. We had two rooms facing the bridge. For breakfast I went to the "living room" to grab coffee and water. For afternoon, I took my friends to the outdoor area to sit around and chat. One morning I went to the roof top bar for coffee. I have been in and out of NY for years but never stayed here before as I work in the Chelsea office by High Line. This place has a superb location - reminded me my early 20s eating and shopping around Chinatown with my then Wall Street Italian (boy)friend from New Jersey, and my early 30s going to Chinatown for Shanghainese food with my mom and daughter, and my recent endless Southeast Asia trips to Vietnam. Seriously, this place reminded me one of the cute hotels I stayed at in Hanoi. Absolutely darling. Old world charm meets modern amenities. Would love to return. read more

A friend and I stayed here for three nights in a High Floor Manhattan Bridge View Room w/ 2 Double Beds. The room was the 20th floor which I believe is just under the rooftop bar The Crown. The hotel is on the newer side. There are no onsite dining locations but room service is through a partnership with local establishments. There's a QR code that links to a menu and then food is delivered to a pick-up stand in the lobby. You could then bring the food up to your room or during the daytime, the 2nd floor is open with free coffee or tea, indoor and outdoor seating and an area with a microwave, plates and utensils if you want to heat up any food. There is also a gym but we never went. The room itself was quite nice. Not too small and a spacious bathroom. We had floor to ceiling windows and a great view of the entrance to the Manhattan Bridge. I do wish there were more overhead lights during the night time but it wasn't too bad. The TV also had a lot of channels and there was a handheld clothes steamer in the closet. There is also a small mini fridge hidden into the furniture. One small drawback is that the hallways and elevators are dimly lit probably to set the mood they are looking for but this made seeing the floor numbers on the elevator buttons a little difficult (I wish they were lit up numbers). Also, if you're on a high floor, you can sometimes hear the noise from the rooftop bar but I think only on particularly busy nights. One of the nights we were there was during their Halloween party and that was the only night we heard a lot of noise. The location is fantastic though in the heart of Chinatown. There are so many amazing food options nearby and I was sad I didn't have more time to try more of them out. Also, it was a fairly short walk to various metro stations. read more
