Great drinks, greater food, lovely vibe. Best food I've had in Anchorage. Hands down. The bartender was friendly and thorough. Drink names and taste matched the entire vibe and made the experience that much better. We were there for karaoke night. I now know that all the secret talented singers hide in Alaska. I cannot wait to go back!

Host was so funny and their performance was on peak.

First time ever at a drag show and this place made me obsessed! Extremely fun experience. Went with my squadron who also had a blast. Staff was extremely nice and the service was out of this world. Very colorful vibes and if you are looking to enjoy shows, this is your place. Food was SO DELICIOUS! Sadly enough the photo shared was the only photo I took this night because I was immersed in the moment

I can't wait to attend more events here! I finally got to visit Myrna's for a day party on their patio. They have parking in the back (really the front) of their building. It is beautiful and fancy inside Myrna's. Burlesque vibes, but clean. They have a full cocktail menu and food menu. Our day party was called "Love Me Tender," so they had specialty chicken tendy's with different (creative) dipping sauces available. So yum! DJ Covy, and company were spinning r&b tunes in the sunshine. They had yard games and a Photo Booth. Mad Myrna's has rotating slushy Margs...on tap! Their blue coconut marg came with a very cutesy sugar rim. This place is cool as shit. Their bloody? Bomb. Their marg on the rocks Amaze-balls! All staff encountered were super cool. The bathroom was sparkly clean. I can't wait to return.

Mad Myrnas has really gone through a transformation in these past few years. While i miss the old wild west days of the early 2000s when I practically lived there, but time ages us all and eventually we have to grow up. And thats the feel I get at Myrnas. What used to be a divey fun spot with inconsistent typical greasy bar food options has matured into a mellow laid back relaxing environment to grab a bite to eat. Wednesday are my favorite days to dine in. The bar is frequented by its karaoke regulars who serenade the patrons with spirited renditions of show tunes and top 40 hits from every decade. Its a fun and interactive way to spend a week night. I have probably ate the entire menu at this point. My favorites are the pizza... any topping really but my favorite thing is the crust. Idk what it is but i like it a lot. I like to take my crust and dip it into the shells and cheese. The shells and cheese can be rich if eaten alone but pairs perfectly with the pizza crusts, also the steak add on is a must for your shells and cheese. A favorite amongst my friends and family is the cauliflower Buffalo wings. Honestly im not a fan of vegetables but Id eat these all day. (I mean battered and deep fried, why wouldn't i love it?) The soba bowl reminds me of fried saimin, its a good flavor and gives me nostalgia of my childhood snack back in the islands. Staff is always so attentive and helpful. I have yet to have any negative experience with the service at Myrnas. The staff are fairly upbeat and fun if not a bit on the flirty side. But its alaway fun safe and respectful. The food is alawys good, the singing not so much. But whats better than pizza, waffle fries, a stiff drink, and free ear bleeding entertainment. Im kidding about the bleeding ears.

Mad Myrna's is not what I expected in rugged Anchorage. I expected a diva dive I got diva fab. This bar is so nice and upscale it was awesome. There is a performance room, well lighted bar and even more space. I only wish they had more windows to bring in more light. The interior had a new feeling with place to sit and chat. Very impressed with this outpost in the 49th state. The bartenders and staff were very friendly too.

I'm glad I went to check it out, but outside of going there for a show I don't see myself going back. Seriously gave me college bar/frat house basement party vibes. Considering I went to a Big 10 school in the middle of Illinois I'm very well versed in that type of establishment/vibe. It's not exactly the kind of place I want to go to as a 30 something year old. I went there for a burlesque show. Shout out to Pulse Dance Company! The show was amazing and tons of fun. The bar itself I don't think has had any updates since like maybe 1995, and that estimate is probably generous. This bar was probably the place to be when it first opened, but now it's kind of just tired and sad. It could probably be better if they took the time & money to renovate it, but they don't really have an incentive since people go there regardless. Koot's kind of just exists, but considering Anchorage is the biggest metropolitan area Alaska has it's a confusing type of establishment to find here. If you're looking to party though it seems to be the spot!

The prices for food are honestly pretty reasonable considering you're paying the downtown premium but you're getting high-quality food. It features a blend of barstool window seats, barstool bar seats, high-top tables, and standard-height tables. We went for a very late lunch, which made the quick food delivery and yet under-attentive service a little perplexing. Having spent last summer in London, the attraction at TCT for us was comparing and contrasting Alaska Halibut Fish & Chips with the British fare. I wanted to like the Tent City offering; I really did not. For the price ($28/ea), we got three modest pieces of fish and the equivalent of two servings of chips. Both the fish and the chips were mushy (undercooked), with a heavy batter finish in contrast with the light and crisp British offering. The accompanying tarter sauce was an odd raspberry-and-blackberry concoction that my family and I called a pickle aftertaste. The presentation, for the price and the atmosphere, was a confusing combination of a metal basket lined with wax paper (like a 1950's drive-through), plastic water and soda glasses (like a college cafeteria), and real silverware. Other reviews have high praise for TCT so, on our next visit to Alaska, it will be good to give them another try. The bones of this establishment are in place for a really special experience, but, today, for me, it was just "ok."

I was in beautiful Anchorage and…read morewanted to grab some lunch. 49th state brewing was perfect because it wasn't far from my hotel and because it was so cold outside, I didn't want my walk to exceed 15 minutes. I was really hungry so I got there right when they opened at 11 a.m. I was able to be seated immediately and opted to sit upstairs where the tables were lower as compared to downstairs where the tables were high tops. Off the bat the food is phenomenal. For starters I got their popular handmade Bavarian pretzel. It was perfectly seasoned with butter and salt and the pretzel itself was soft and fluffy. It came with a side of cheese which was just as tasty. I was a little nervous it would taste like the melted cheese you eat at an amusement park- but this cheese had fantastic quality. One really neat thing about this brewery is they make their own fountain drinks! I tried the raspberry one and as you can see they aren't shy about the portions! The drink was really good. It had a great flavor to it, and a nice balance. The raspberry wasn't overpowering which I'm grateful for. For my entree I had the Yak burger that came with a side of tater tots. My waiter recommended I get it cooked at medium to keep it juicy. Typically I'm a medium well to well done type of girl, but I decided to trust his judgement and he was right! The burger was huge, messy, and delicious. The medium was definitely a good call. It was juicy but not so red where it would be off putting! Overall, I had a really incredible dining experience at 49th state brewing. And the prices were unbelievably reasonable. My meal came out to about $52 (not including my tip). I would love to come back when it's a bit warmer and sit outside- the views from the restaurant are phenomenal. Also, shout out to my waiter! I didn't get his name but he was so kind and the service was excellent!
