Marty R's suggestion that this place be called "The Chameleon" is perfect. It's hard to pin down this bar. I shall try, though. This is on the outskirts of downtown. On the edge. Where downtown transitions from "family fun at the reindeer dog stand" to "why is that guy yelling at nothing in particular?". This place embodies that transition zone. It's not scary, but it's definitely a little rough around the edges. The people in here are friendly. The have a pool table, they have darts. They have surprisingly respectable taps for such a divey joint. (I don't think I'd quite call them a "dive bar" though) The bartender poured me a lager and said "this reminds me of the 70's". Best beer description ever. There was a guy in here telling absolutely horrible jokes.

We had one night out in Anchorage and we're so glad we spent it here. Great vibes, great music (and DJ), space for dancing and wonderful staff. Love this spot.

First time coming here. Got here on a Saturday around 4/5pm, it's not too busy but it such a nice spot!! I appreciate the service, art and energy here. I don't go out much at night, but finding a nice bar around in the evening without it being too busy (AND a nice atmosphere) is hard to come by. Overall 10/10, will be back for date nights

This bar is quite the local downtown local dive. There is a stench as soon as you enter into the bar. But if you can get used to the smell, the heavy handedness of the bartender will certainly keep you forgetting about the awful aroma. A pool table & darts would make the evening enjoyable, especially for large groups. Just don't touch anything if you wanna collect the 'coodies'!

A 'lime drop' the very skilled bartender made me when they were out of lemons for a 'lemon drop'.

But the macaroni salad...weird? Or am I missing something? It tasted like run of the meal, store bought macaroni salad. Is it for the non fermenters? Cause that ain't me! Those fermented side dishes were the stars, until the bibimbap came out. The clay pot was more a large plate, but it was HOT and it made the rice exactly like I like it: crispy on the bottom and soft on the top. All the accoutrements were tasty and blended well with the rice and sauce. I wasn't sure what each of them were, so I tried a little bit at a time. They all had some unique savory flavors. In the end I mixed them all together for a final flash and bang of flavor. Service was excellent. Maybe the owner, maybe the manager was also seated at the bar and he stopped by at the end of my meal to ask about everything. Friendly and professional. The restaurant is clean and has great lighting. When one walks in, the bbq side is to the right and there is a bar area to the left. There is both tables and bar seating.

I'd give this place 4 stars-- it was a good overall experience. I didn't get to try the BBQ side,…read moreso I'll definitely have to come back for that. The vibe inside was a bit confusing--it looks upscale and fancy, with a full piano by the bar seating area, yet serves traditional Korean dishes that aren't particularly fancy in presentation. That contrast threw me off a bit. The food was decent overall. Portion sizes were generous for the price, which I appreciated. However, I wasn't impressed with the egg custard--it had an odd burnt BBQ taste that didn't sit well with the dish. Honestly, I've had more flavorful, higher-quality Korean meals at some of the smaller, more homey spots in town. That said, the service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. I especially loved the quick banchan refills!

It really brings the community together and is nestled in the heart of the artistic Spenard neighborhood of Anchorage. Service is friendly, as quick as can possibly be, and efficient. I do this so they know ahead of time that I am not being picky, just asking for what I am willing to pay for. I usually LOVE the rosemary garlic fries, but mine arrived soggy and barely warm. The server was quick to offer to correct this and returned with a plate of perfectly crisp hot fries! My grandson ordered a kids' salad and the kids' salmon and rice! This was the best buy of the day, as the salmon fillet appeared to be between two and three ounces of beautifully grilled salmon, with a generous portion of coconut rice. The salad was a garden salad with tomatoes, lettuce, and carrots, nicely dressed in ranch dressing. He also ordered the children's dessert of Mini Mousse, which is a good-sized chocolate mousse that he LOVED! Grandma had a couple of nibbles too! I enjoyed a Broken Tooth raspberry wheat, and it was fabulous as always. Bears Tooth Grill offers consistently delicious food, and when they make a mistake, they happily correct it!

Yes, I got wings at a wood fire pizza place - and boy, am I glad I did. We did the garlic Parmesan and the sweet heat wings. I don't know what magic they do to get the skin so crispy and bubbly, but I'm happy they figured it out! It's like popcorn, so light and airy. And even sauced, the crispy texture didn't end! We took half our wings home to Anchorage and even after the microwave a few hours later - still crispy. We told him that we just wanted good food with a chill, laid-back vibe where we could just eat and hang without being pressured to leave quickly. We stopped by and it was busy. Parking is right in the front and lots of spaces available. There was indoor and outdoor tables and luckily we found a booth. The menu is simple and straight forward. You place your order first and then take a seat. My friend and I decided to share a pizza, we couldn't decide and we got half and half, Pear bacon bleu and Greek. I also ordered a ginger ale. So I don't know why my friend decided to share a pizza with me, maybe we were both tired, or she was sooo hungry that she couldn't make any other choice but it was surprising because pizza is not really her thing. When we were ordering, I didn't think anything of it, but as we were eating and basically almost done she said, "You know what, I would come back and have their pizza, that was the best pizza ever!!" No argument from me...both half of the pizzas were so good. It was the right combo. The pear bacon bleu was almost like a dessert pizza but still very savory with the bacon bits. We were both hungry and the pizza size was perfect and filled us both. I never did ask, but do they make their own ginger ale? It didn't taste like any other of the Ginger ales that I've had in other places. This was flavorful and very carbonated. The whole meal was perfect! Wood fired pizzas are something special since not a lot of places make pizzas this way but even better when done right. I highly recommend this place!
