Yes, I got wings at a wood fire pizza place - and boy, am I glad I did. We did the garlic Parmesan and the sweet heat wings. I don't know what magic they do to get the skin so crispy and bubbly, but I'm happy they figured it out! It's like popcorn, so light and airy. And even sauced, the crispy texture didn't end! We took half our wings home to Anchorage and even after the microwave a few hours later - still crispy. We also shared a Greek salad that was delicious, fully loaded, and so big we both ate off it and still had leftovers!!! read more

Driving around all day and it was starting to get late....and we were getting hungry! We asked a local at one of the museums where he loved to eat and he recommended this place. We told him that we just wanted good food with a chill, laid-back vibe where we could just eat and hang without being pressured to leave quickly. We stopped by and it was busy. Parking is right in the front and lots of spaces available. There was indoor and outdoor tables and luckily we found a booth. The menu is simple and straight forward. You place your order first and then take a seat. My friend and I decided to share a pizza, we couldn't decide and we got half and half, Pear bacon bleu and Greek. I also ordered a ginger ale. So I don't know why my friend decided to share a pizza with me, maybe we were both tired, or she was sooo hungry that she couldn't make any other choice but it was surprising because pizza is not really her thing. When we were ordering, I didn't think anything of it, but as we were eating and basically almost done she said, "You know what, I would come back and have their pizza, that was the best pizza ever!!" No argument from me...both half of the pizzas were so good. It was the right combo. The pear bacon bleu was almost like a dessert pizza but still very savory with the bacon bits. We were both hungry and the pizza size was perfect and filled us both. I never did ask, but do they make their own ginger ale? It didn't taste like any other of the Ginger ales that I've had in other places. This was flavorful and very carbonated. The whole meal was perfect! Wood fired pizzas are something special since not a lot of places make pizzas this way but even better when done right. I highly recommend this place! read more

Nice little place that makes brick oven style modern crafty pizzas. The pizza is delicious-and so is the dark winter ale. Highly recommended if you're in the mood for something down home, and different. Young service lady at counter came off a little pretentious and snotty; but the guys cooking the pizza were very helpful in taking my order and making me feel welcomed. The restaurant business is tough, and a lot of it depends on the service and your staff. Most of the staff seemed happy, courteous and friendly with some exceptions. I look forward to trying some of their other brick oven style craft pizzas. Once I ordered my dark winter ale, and an oven-fired chicken, bacon and ranch pizza, it only took a few minutes to receive my food. We tried the mango habanero and the sweet-heat flavors, and both completely exceeded expectations. These aren't your typical bar wings. When you drive up to this building you are immediately impressed with the structure it is a gorgeous building with very distinguished lights letting you know you have arrived at your destination. I so meant to take a picture but I was trying to rush in since I was a little cold. As you walk in there is a sign to go to the left to order pretty clear instructions to me! We went to the counter looked at the menu ordered our pizza then started looking at the vast amounts of beer choices on tap, they also have kombucha is you choose. We decided on the double Frontiersman and boy that is a winner in our book. Unfortunately yesterday they didn't have any to purchase in cans to go But they had a heck of a deal on a case of the original Frontierman for 16 oz can for a case was $25 you can't beat that price anywhere!! Costco sells a 4 pack for $8.79 I believe so their price at the brewery is smoking hot! I see a run again out there before Christmas for a couple Gifts!! The food was incredible but as it arrived we were chatting so much and hungry I totally forgot to take pictures. I almost went to ask others if I could take pictures of their food but thought that's kinda rude. The salads I saw come out were Beautiful so the next time I'm definitely getting one to share they were huge!! We will definitely make this place a stopping point in the valley and to top it off the service was a 10/10 and you can't find that all the time!! Yo! This pizza is tasty! Maybe the best in the valley. Definitely the most unique. The downside is the beer selection. Bearpaw has a ton of really tasty beers at their other location. But here, they only have 4 1/2. How do they have half a beer? One is simply the imperial version of another. The service is super friendly, the space is well designed and comfy and they have merchandise to purchase. They also have canned beer. We had the meat lovers and the pear bacon bleu pizzas. The pear pizza was very solid. I was a little nervous about the honey. But it was perfect. Heavy enough to taste, but light enough it didn't overpower. The menu is pretty limited. About 12-15 pizzas and 3 salads. When the Frontiersman wrote a paper on them, they mentioned a more diverse menu including pub fare. If they had a burger and fries/tots and maybe some appetizers, this place would probably be in the top three establishments in the valley. And maybe a few more beer choices. After a morning of being a tourist and learning the art of dogsledding in Willow, we were feeling a bit famished. A cold beer and some pizza sounded like the perfect meal. I love Bearpaw River beer, but hadn't had a chance to visit the brewery in person. I was stoked to find that it was located on our path back to Anchorage. I ordered a flight of beer and we sampled several of the pizzas. Wow, they were all delicious! The wood fired pizzas were cooked perfectly and beer was on point, as usual. The staff as great! It's an industrial style brewing company Pizza joint. But the pizza is artisan. It is so wonderful and if it just so happens to be subpar they will make it fresh right in front of you to make up for it the service is absolutely phenomenal! I have not once, not ever been disappointed. Tonight my server was Rachel when I called they were outlandishly busy but when I got there it was so chill and she took such good care of me I was just so grateful for such incredible service they are so friendly it's a nice place to chill it really is. And the little glasses make your man's hands look oh so mighty! LOL highly highly highly recommend the pear bacon blue pizza or one of their absolutely majestic looking salads! read more

We love this place! The outdoor seating adds a great touch and beers are served quick (definitely becomes my favorite when beers are quick)! We ordered the flight and I will dreadfully admit this..I am not an IPA woman! I know I suck..I can't get with the hype. But I love more like reds, blondes, that shade of beer. I really enjoyed the Red Sky. There's other tasty options but that one stood out more to muah. I will admit a bandwagon I did jump and get on board with...fruit w/ strong flavored cheese type pizzas! I fell in love with the fig pizza at spenard roadhouse, so I gave it a shot and ordered the pear, blue cheese and bacon..............Holy Shhhh! Yup I'm definitely a fan of fruit on pizza and seriously if you are thinking, " I bet she loves pineapple on pizza or 'Hawaiian pizza'" NO I DONT! I still don't like the idea of pineapple on pizza!
