I regretted tipping. Lesson learned - never tip before completing a meal and having the full experience. We waited about 20 mins for coffee. When we followed up, she said "it's coming"; and went about standing there doing nothing. This is insane. Food wasn't great but at least the bread and veggies were fresh. Coffee sucked. Sadly, we threw it away. It felt like the leftover at the end of a brewing pot when we paid for and expected a luscious latte. Not going back. Not a nice vibe. Sad.

When ordering Crystal was super friendly introducing her husband and herself and nice and was able to let me know her favorites which we ordered. While waiting for our food she continued this sunshine spirit, walking to tables and checking in and conversing with customers. It was a great sight to see. The food was amazing!! I had the spicy pork bahn mi and my partner had the crispy spicy veggie burger. The pork in the bahn mi was delicious!!! We also really liked the veggie burger as well - a very great homemade patty! We are from out of town and gutted that we won't be able to try their soup before we leave! The next time we are in Kelowna, we are definitely coming again. Thank you Crystal and Staff!

This summer I had an experience with Little Hobo and the amazing Crystal. I had gone to the…read morerestaurant to get some take away soup, and explained to the counter lady my husband couldn't eat large chunks in soup due to his cancer treatment. She offered to blend it, which was a great solution. I waited, and then when the soup came, she simply said, "It's been taken care of." For anyone who has ever been through cancer or cared for someone who is going through it or a serious illness, you know that feeling of utterly loneliness and overwhelm. Like nobody understands what you are going through, and you just have to keep yourself under control or you will lose it. Well, this act of kindness did me in. I broke down in tears, Crystal, the counter lady -- the human form of kindness and love -- took me outside. She told me that cancer sucks, but it would get better. Well, Crystal, it has gotten better. The soup was amazing, but more importantly that small act of kindness gave me the strength to keep going that day. I will never forget that gesture. I didn't get the chance to go back, which I will always regret. Keep doing what you are doing folks. You do more than make awesome food. Your soup and sandwiches nourish souls as well as bodies.

We loved the decor and Blues music playing softly in the background. Started with some of their delicious cocktails before enjoying a bottle of reasonably priced wine with dinner. Ordered the Elvis Platter and Seafood Medley which was plentiful for the 6 of us - our party consisted of 3 men with large appetites and they made a great attempt to finish the platter but we still ended up taking a fair bit of meat and potato salad home. All agreed was a great way to sample everything! Everyone enjoyed it and everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Service was excellent, very accommodating adding another table so we had lots of room for the larger platter. We definitely will be going back!

Before ordering a drink, I looked around the inside of the coffee shop. The unique design made me feel like I was in a film. I ordered a matcha latte and sat in front of the bookshelf. I loved the ambiance. The latte was pretty good, with a strong matcha flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. They sell their own branded goods, such as tote bags, mugs, and coffee beans. They also offer a food menu, which I'd like to try on my next visit. I highly recommend this place as one of the most unique coffee shops in Kelowna!

We booked a Happy Hour reservation for the long Sunday Easter long weekend at 4:30pm and we were the first to arrive. As Salt & Brick has an evolving fresh sheet menu, you never know what's on the menu but they usually have a few staples like their Brussel sprouts. As this was my boyfriend's first time here, we ordered the Brussell sprouts with popcorn and the Rigatoni. We were given the regular menu but did inquire about Happy Hour and the Brussel sprouts, pastas, and charcuterie board were on special. Unfortunately, they didn't have any oysters available that day. Small cozy atmosphere with a cute front porch. It's a small bar and kitchen that you can see and wonderful that you see and hear all the food being freshly made to order. Our server was friendly, chatty, and attentive but also gave us our space too. The Brussel sprouts served with cheddar popcorn, grapes, and ripped beer cheese is a bit salty, sweet, and so satisfying! My partner doesn't love Brussel sprouts but really enjoyed this dish. The Rigatoni was a bit rich with a nettle became sauce but served with the earthy lily spears, it was a well rounded dish altogether that we also enjoyed. Cute restaurant on the Downtown main strip that isn't a major chain, which is refreshing. Will continue to visit next time in town and hopefully they will have oysters then!

(Bibimbap) and some true Italian (Gnocchi and homemade Pasta) with the rest being slight variants of both. We had the Burrata salad with greens and roasted and fresh tomatoes (nicely skinned) with Pesto, Pune Nuts and a balsamic dressing. It was beautiful but needed more salt and acid to tame down the Burrata. Still a nice salad. We split the Patate Fritte which was fried potatoes and gnocchi with a really flavorful Chipotle Mayo. The whole dish didn't work. The gnocchi were over fried and too small to eat with the much larger potatoes which were also underdone. The Tuna Poke Bowl was very nice (and a good deal) with all of the usual components. The Salmon was cooked perfectly (crispy on the outside slightly translucent inside ) and came with a wasabi cream, lots of roasted veggies (potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans) and somewhat random things like cornichons, caper berries, and beets. The whole thing worked but would have been better with some editing. I personally wanted more wasabi in the cream and wished that it didn't get watered down by all the veggies. They have a nice cocktail list and a decent list of wines by the glass, several local all fairly priced. The place is modern looking with windows overlooking downtown streets in two sides. The place is very modern with lots of metal and concrete and consequently lots of energy and lots of noise. I see this as a great space for a bunch of friends, less so for a romantic dinner. Overall I liked this place. It could be better and I would return. I love what they are aiming for.
