Another amazing bakery in Kelowna! I got the Kelownafornian wrap which was amazing, and some mini tarts which were great as well. I wish I had a chance to stop back and try other things, that cherry cheesecake looked soooo good. Next time! I will definitely be back.

On the way back home, we made a quick pitstop for brunch in Kelowna. We randomly decided to try The Bread Co. as B was in desperate need of some carbs. They have a second location in South Kelowna (Pandosy). We dropped in on a Sunday (around 11:45am) and it was packed! Constant line of people coming in. The menu is behind the counter: drinks, sandwiches, breakfast (sweet and savoury), tossed salads, breads and organic. They sadly had run out of hollandaise sauce so we couldn't order any bennies. There's also a weekly special menu along with a few brunch specials for the weekend. - Baguette ($2.10) - super cheap and good sized. Reasonably good texture. Honestly, can't complain too much! - Italian sausage frittata ($12.00) - three eggs, Italian sausage, cheddar, potato, red pepper, onion, avocado, cilantro and salsa. We opted for the multigrain bread (which they buttered). Bread is fresh and slightly toasted. The frittata was actually really good. Cheesy, light and airy, and the Mexican sauce paired well. Good creamy avocado too. I'm not a big brunch/breakfast fan but this was quality and a huge portion. - Bacon egg cheese bagel ($5.99) - egg over medium hard, chipotle mayo, crispy bacon and cheddar on an asiago bagel. B liked that they pressed it on a panini grill. Solid breakfast sandwich. Place is packed for a reason. Check out Bread Co. for bread (duh) and brunch!

Salmon Eggs Benny

I call this place Bread Co. and even though BOTH times I have come here in the past two times were unintentional (Dangit Sunny's - A Modern Diner being closed both times we tried!), I have been so insanely satisfied eating brunch here both times we wound up here. I'll reflect on my experience this past Tuesday morning. First of all, $2 lattes and cappucinos on Tuesday and they are GOOD and creamy and espresso-y enough! Their coffee on my previous experience was definitely solid as well. After glancing at the brunch menu, how could salmon eggs benny not call our West Coast girls' hearts? It was on a croissant served with the classic hollandaise sauce with smashed nugget potatoes served on the side and utterly satisfying. The croissant base make it so buttery and smooth to eat. We also shared the banana pecan brioche french toast because how does the name of that breakfast dish NOT make you want to try it? It was perfectly moist through each bite, with dollops of whipped cream and e maple syrup easily accessible on the side. Both of these dishes I HIGHLY recommend. The time we came before we were disappointed at how small the huevos rancheros were so don't recommend this unless they've made their portion size bigger! Ambiance is awesome with ample seating. Self serve water station plus sauces, jams, etc. in the middle.

Sourdough bread side

Bread Co., located in downtown Kelowna. Great Bakery with a most excellent choice of bread. We ordered breakfast to enjoy there and had a beautiful sourdough bread to go. My friend ordered pancakes. Three pretty big pancakes, with a serving of syrup on the side. He also ordered a side of sourdough bread. The pancakes were too "doughy" for us. The bread, however, was absolutely delicious and I will definitely come back for that alone. I ordered the traditional breakfast and had 2 poached eggs; the eggs were slightly disappointing and I won't order those again here. Sausage was sliced in half, mine was even a little burned. Usually I would have send it back to the kitchen but this time I didn't. Why? Because the sourdough toast was perfection. I finished all that warm slightly buttered goodness on my plate, something I rarely do because I try to stay away from carbs. This? So worth it, every bite was like carb heaven. There. I've said it. I will be back and eat more bread. Just give me bread and coffee. I'll be more than happy. And I'll return to buy my sourdough bread here!

The service was ok. It wasn't super fast, but reasonable. Waited for 5 minutes for my salad. I had the bacon salad. The ambiance is very casual and cozy. There are many baked goods to choose from as well food items. According to a colleague of mine, they are known for their salads. I was impressed at the flavour of my salad and the portion sizing. I could not finish it due to the large size. A decent place for take out based on the salad I ordered. Would probably come here again.

Chicken pesto and buffalo chicken sandwiches

Second time eating here, and it just reinforced its 5 star rating. Super friendly staff. We ordered a chicken pesto sandwich and a buffalo chicken sandwich. Chicken pesto was a solid 9/10, chicken was super juicy and I loved the roasted red peppers and mushrooms. The ciabatta bread was AMAZING like I want to buy a dozen. Best ciabatta I've ever had. The buffalo chicken was absolutely a 10/10. Really nice buffalo sauce that paired very well with the sourdough bread and delicious ranch coleslaw. Also got a texas peach iced tea, forgot to mix it up so the flavour was all down the bottom and it wasn't very sweet until the last bit. If you're in the area looking for lunch, DEFINITELY recommend. It hits the spot every time.

Stopped by for breakfast. Wanted to try Salad dish, but at 9:50am, they were serving only breakfast menu. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. I had Roasted Veggie Frittatas $12.60 with tax, and presto spinach croissant $2.75. Frittata came with smashed red potatoes and sourdough bread. All tasted fine. I never had smashed red potatoes before and thought it was great!

This place was great. Stayed a night in Kelowna and wanted a chill place for breakfast. This was the best decision that day. Food was reasonably priced, service was quick, and the food tasted amazing. Perfect sweetness for the French toast, as a generous portion. Would come again!!

I'm actually already planning my next trip to Kelowna and you better believe I'll be coming here again! Hubby had eggs Benedict and I had the salmon Benedict, both were fresh and amazing. Awesome coffee too! We picked out our sweets while we were waiting for breakfast, and ended up going home with a hazelnut horn, dolce de latte brownie, lemon curd bar, and a Kahlua cannoli... those all lasted about 10 mins when we sat down and shared them the next day.... sorry, not sorry. Amazing and creative food selection, breakfast and lunch options. Friendly staff, excellent service and beautiful, modern, clean, interior. We'll be back for sure.

Holly Good ! Biggest and Best Breakfast Ever ! Sat outside on the patio, in the sun, and gorged our face off. This is the only place to eat in downtown Kelowna. Very busy place, but will worth the wait. Foodie paradise

Our first time here in Kelowna and we were looking for a nice bakery to eat lunch at. We were craving sandwiches and figured we'd try The Bread Company. It didn't disappoint! The bread is fresh and delicious and the sauce (herb aioli) is fantastic. They have taken many precautions for covid and the tables were spaced apart. We enjoyed our food and would definitely eat here again. The breakfast menu looked awesome so perhaps we will try that next time! :)

During my trip to Kelowna, I was looking for places to eat quality light dinner. I accidently found this bakery store, looked so good so I couldn't help but to go inside the store! I got ham harvati sandwich. Some artisian bakery places tend to be dry and hard but the bread here is so soft and fresh! The ingredients used in sandwiches are also delicious. It really made my day :) they also sell some quality local coffee beans which i also end up buying it because it smelled so good and special!

Traditional breakfast with bacon. Toast substituted with a biscuit

Although the macarons were good, the best I've had were at Bon Macaron Patisserie in Vancouver. However, the other sweets were outstanding. I highly recommend the Moulin Rouge (flourless mousse cake) any of the chocolates that include caramel, and the cherry ganache (candy). They also had mille-feuille, which is made of thin layers of pastry with pastry cream in between. It blew my mind. Service was okay. The young women who worked in both places were super busy and a bit impatient. As far ambiance goes, everything was bright white and clean. Expect a line.

I ordered the Supreme Croissant, NYC Toffee Roll Praline, and London Fog Tea to eat in. I also got a Croque Monsieur, Millefeuille, and Cruffin for take-out. The NYC Toffee Praline Supreme Croissant was very delicious. The dough was crispy on the outside and nicely moist on the inside. The filling was very flavorful, and I highly recommend this item. The London Fog Tea was okay and paired nicely with the croissant. The Croque Monsieur was very tasty, making it a delicious savory option. The Millefeuille had a wonderfully crispy pie crust, and the cream was perfectly sweet; I really enjoyed it. The Cruffin's filling was very flavorful, although the dough could have been crispier. Nevertheless, it still tasted very good. Overall, I really enjoyed visiting this bakery-cafe. It had a cute ambiance and many options for cakes and baked goods. I would love to try their cream puffs or other cakes next time!

The pumpkin cake featured dark chocolate, a sable base, pumpkin pie custard, and passionfruit cheesecake. The pumpkin pie custard resembled the filling of a pumpkin pie and was covered by pumpkin-shaped chocolate. The passionfruit cheesecake layer was not very dominant, allowing for a well-balanced combination with the pumpkin pie custard. The sable base complemented the dessert perfectly. The apple dessert featured apple-lime compote, yuzu mousse, a white chocolate shell, and a sbrisolona cookie base. The apple-lime compote was tangy, but it blended well with the yuzu mousse, making it seriously delicious. I usually can't handle tangy desserts, but I enjoyed this one; it was that good. The sbrisolona cookie included almonds (or possibly other nuts), which added a great flavor as well. The maple pecan cube croissant was very delicious, too. A notable point was the filling; the maple flavor was delightful, leaning slightly on the sweeter side but still so good. The maple drizzle with pecans on top of the cube croissant made it even more delicious. I highly recommend this item! Without visiting Karat, my trip to Kelowna wouldn't be complete. I can't wait to visit this bakery-café to try different items.

Staff going by don't acknowledge the waiting customer. When you place your order they don't give options. Today I ordered two ham & cheese on Focaccia To go! I thought there was a special as the sign said two for $10.50 and they were small. I ordered two from the staff member who had appeared after a few minutes. No questions, she just grabbed two went into the back. Not sure why. Came back with two sandwiches each on a plate in their own paper bag! Rang then up on their fancy card machine and walked away! The amount was $21.00. Another staff member came. I asked the staff member about the sign that said two for $10.50. Was told that was for the small sandwiches which were half the large ones and I got the large ones. End of conversation. No option to get what I wanted. We drove home. Put the paper plates on a dinner plate and sat down to eat. Nice poration of ham & cheese! No lettuce, mustard or cucumber. The bottom half of my sandwich was so soggy I had to throw it out. The focaccia seems like day old. The food has not on average been bakery/cafe quality and lackadaisical service model doesn't encourage me to go back!

Tons of baked items on display when you arrive, plus a small menu of breakfast / lunch items. Since we wanted something heartier and less sweet, we ordered a couple of breakfast burritos ($6 each plus tax), as well as a couple of coffees to go. The burritos were ready in under 10 minutes. The burritos were very small, but I guess for $6 it's not a bad deal. Unfortunately for us, everything is also gluten free, so the wraps that come with the burritos are not a nice texture -- very papery and dry, and doesn't seem to stay together all that well. The filling was better, coming with tofu scramble, potatoes, and vegan cheese. The scrambled tofu was nice, the potatoes were dry and didn't have great texture, but the vegan cheese gives it a nice sauciness to it. They've gotta get better wraps for these, as this was a bit of a deal-breaker for me; I wouldn't order these again. 2.5/5 The coffees on the other hand were very nice. I'd gladly come back for coffee and maybe to try the baked/sweet goods.
