    a roast beef sandwich

Adorable bakery in the alleyway. Get there early cause lines do form and it's definitely a local hot spot. We came during a weekday to grab brunch and I enjoyed my Montreal smoke meat sandwich. Nicely meaty, not too salty. We tried the ricotta toast (light and fluffy) and the ham sandwich. We also got a loaf of bread which was delicious and lasted us a few days of breakfast. The lattes and coffee all tasted the same to us, but I did enjoy my iced London fog! Maybe we don't have the tasting expertise for coffee haha! Service was really quick and nice. Pricing is a bit high but it's a good treat for breakfast. You're getting some really fun breakfast dishes. I will be back!

Great coffee, fresh pastries! Came by mid-morning on a Sunday and the line was out the door for both the café and the coffee shop. You can order the full menu selection from either half of the shared space (ie. Coffee shop or café). They moved through the line remarkably fast, and I ended up enjoying my to-go order on site. Ordered an oat milk latte, avocado toast with an added egg and monkey bread from the pastry case. The monkey bread was fresh and cinnamon sweet. The latte was well prepared with a creamy layer of foam art displayed on top. Finally, the avocado toast arrived on a thick slice of fresh baked bread that was just chewy enough to maintain it's shape without dropping the toppings! I would definitely repeat the visit, with the only change being to arrive earlier so I can snag a comfy seat and dine in.

Nah. $19 for the 'classic bacon and eggs'- supposed to come with roasted potatoes and vegetables, pumpkin seed romesco and hollandaise. In reality you get a slab of (admittedly, very good) bread with two fried eggs and a small pile of limp bacon. No potatoes, no vegetables, no hollandaise, no romesco. C'mon. Front of house was too swamped to care. Kitchen was totally in the weeds, so I had to take the L on this one. Expand the kitchen and hire more cooks, or cut back on the menu and its complexity. You can't charge the public full price and then deliver less than half of the meal. This feels like a place with a decent core concept but man does it fail to deliver. Way too expensive to be cutting this many corners on infrastructure, staff, and customer experience. Would not recommend. Oh well!

great ambiance, loved the tip jars (pictured below) the interior was well decorated and functional with plentiful seating including cute arm chairs and tables. foccacia was good however a little pricey for what you get. London fog was unique and delish 9.2/10 even though it was a little too sweet.

Great breakfast sandwiches. Not too heavy, perfect portions. Also got a great filled donut . Great ambiance. Friendly people. Annoying parking situation. Overall would recommend!!!

I love the laid back vibe, the amazing bread, the food and they have the best decaf espresso in town.

The pumpkin cake featured dark chocolate, a sable base, pumpkin pie custard, and passionfruit cheesecake. The pumpkin pie custard resembled the filling of a pumpkin pie and was covered by pumpkin-shaped chocolate. The passionfruit cheesecake layer was not very dominant, allowing for a well-balanced combination with the pumpkin pie custard. The sable base complemented the dessert perfectly. The apple dessert featured apple-lime compote, yuzu mousse, a white chocolate shell, and a sbrisolona cookie base. The apple-lime compote was tangy, but it blended well with the yuzu mousse, making it seriously delicious. I usually can't handle tangy desserts, but I enjoyed this one; it was that good. The sbrisolona cookie included almonds (or possibly other nuts), which added a great flavor as well. The maple pecan cube croissant was very delicious, too. A notable point was the filling; the maple flavor was delightful, leaning slightly on the sweeter side but still so good. The maple drizzle with pecans on top of the cube croissant made it even more delicious. I highly recommend this item! Without visiting Karat, my trip to Kelowna wouldn't be complete. I can't wait to visit this bakery-café to try different items.

Tried the beef sausage roll, curried chicken & cheese on focaccia, schnitzel sandwich, and what's now one of my favourite amaretti I've ever had! Everything was so delicious! And I wish I would've gotten the name of the person that helped us out - she was wonderful! Staff going by don't acknowledge the waiting customer. When you place your order they don't give options. Today I ordered two ham & cheese on Focaccia To go! I thought there was a special as the sign said two for $10.50 and they were small. I ordered two from the staff member who had appeared after a few minutes. No questions, she just grabbed two went into the back. Not sure why. Came back with two sandwiches each on a plate in their own paper bag! Rang then up on their fancy card machine and walked away! The amount was $21.00. Another staff member came. I asked the staff member about the sign that said two for $10.50. Was told that was for the small sandwiches which were half the large ones and I got the large ones. End of conversation. No option to get what I wanted. We drove home. Put the paper plates on a dinner plate and sat down to eat. Nice poration of ham & cheese! No lettuce, mustard or cucumber. The bottom half of my sandwich was so soggy I had to throw it out. The focaccia seems like day old. The food has not on average been bakery/cafe quality and lackadaisical service model doesn't encourage me to go back!
