The food was…read morebeautiful and delicious - we tried the Nutella croissant, turkey and bean turnover, and ham and cheese croissant, along with coffee ($50 for everything). I really liked the spot and would definitely recommend trying the food, but their ordering system needs some work. There were three people working, but instead of each person having a specific role, they all seemed to rotate between taking orders, heating food, and making coffee, so we waited 20 minutes for our coffees! It would be a much better customer experience if each person had a dedicated job, especially when it's busy. Overall, the food was good and it's a lovely little spot. Worth trying, but expect you may have to wait!

Although the macarons were good, the best I've had were at Bon Macaron Patisserie in Vancouver. However, the other sweets were outstanding. I highly recommend the Moulin Rouge (flourless mousse cake) any of the chocolates that include caramel, and the cherry ganache (candy). They also had mille-feuille, which is made of thin layers of pastry with pastry cream in between. It blew my mind. Service was okay. The young women who worked in both places were super busy and a bit impatient. As far ambiance goes, everything was bright white and clean. Expect a line.

Best Bakery I have been to in Kelowna…read more First off, the staff. The staff is exceptional. So friendly, make you feel like they appreciate your business, make suggestions as to what to have. They all make is a delightful experience. The baking.... yum. We were doing some house renovations nearby so literally went here every day for ten days. I would pop in to Starbucks for my coffee and then get a treat here. Everything we had was delicious - the peanut butter cup (yum), cherry almond bar, peanut butter cookie....... tonight it is Saskatoon Berry pie. Also bought a few loaves of Sourdough. A really wonderful bakery and if you are in the neighbourhood, and even if you are not, it is worth the trip.

While visiting Kelowna, I went to my regular spot. This time, I ordered the Pumpkin and Matcha…read moreLatte to enjoy in the café, along with a Maple Pecan Cube Croissant and an apple to take out. The pumpkin cake featured dark chocolate, a sable base, pumpkin pie custard, and passionfruit cheesecake. The pumpkin pie custard resembled the filling of a pumpkin pie and was covered by pumpkin-shaped chocolate. The passionfruit cheesecake layer was not very dominant, allowing for a well-balanced combination with the pumpkin pie custard. The sable base complemented the dessert perfectly. The apple dessert featured apple-lime compote, yuzu mousse, a white chocolate shell, and a sbrisolona cookie base. The apple-lime compote was tangy, but it blended well with the yuzu mousse, making it seriously delicious. I usually can't handle tangy desserts, but I enjoyed this one; it was that good. The sbrisolona cookie included almonds (or possibly other nuts), which added a great flavor as well. The maple pecan cube croissant was very delicious, too. A notable point was the filling; the maple flavor was delightful, leaning slightly on the sweeter side but still so good. The maple drizzle with pecans on top of the cube croissant made it even more delicious. I highly recommend this item! Without visiting Karat, my trip to Kelowna wouldn't be complete. I can't wait to visit this bakery-café to try different items.

We were looking for a bakery that had vegan options for a little bite one morning in Kelowna. This…read moreplace fit the bill pretty well in that the whole bakery is vegan. Tons of baked items on display when you arrive, plus a small menu of breakfast / lunch items. Since we wanted something heartier and less sweet, we ordered a couple of breakfast burritos ($6 each plus tax), as well as a couple of coffees to go. The burritos were ready in under 10 minutes. The burritos were very small, but I guess for $6 it's not a bad deal. Unfortunately for us, everything is also gluten free, so the wraps that come with the burritos are not a nice texture -- very papery and dry, and doesn't seem to stay together all that well. The filling was better, coming with tofu scramble, potatoes, and vegan cheese. The scrambled tofu was nice, the potatoes were dry and didn't have great texture, but the vegan cheese gives it a nice sauciness to it. They've gotta get better wraps for these, as this was a bit of a deal-breaker for me; I wouldn't order these again. 2.5/5 The coffees on the other hand were very nice. I'd gladly come back for coffee and maybe to try the baked/sweet goods.

I regretted tipping. Lesson learned - never tip before completing a meal and having the full experience. We waited about 20 mins for coffee. When we followed up, she said "it's coming"; and went about standing there doing nothing. This is insane. Food wasn't great but at least the bread and veggies were fresh. Coffee sucked. Sadly, we threw it away. It felt like the leftover at the end of a brewing pot when we paid for and expected a luscious latte. Not going back. Not a nice vibe. Sad.
