Delicious! This place is a hidden gem. Always busy and great service, my bf and I always come here for their subs and Caesar salad. Must try in kelowna!

I was looking for a bakery to buy some really good bred as opposed to prepackaged soft supermarket bread. Visiting kelowna and exploring with a local, we ended up at the Wood Fire Bakery. When we walked in I was, at first, a little disappointed not seeing any 'real bakery...' but it changed quickly when we looked around and saw the customers enjoying their lunch. The menu is fairly small, there's a choice of -maybe- 8 options. One can also choose half sandwiches and have a combo with a soup. We opted for the half sandwich with smoked beef and the beef noodle soup. For 2 our lunch came to roughly $20; that may seem a tad high for a sandwich and soup. Having said that; in my opinion it was most definitely worth it. The smoked beef was served on a kaiser roll, nothing fancy. The star of the lunch was the smoked beef, it was thinly sliced and here was plenty to cover that slightly buttered roll. The beef noodle soup was one of the best soups I've ever tasted in a restaurant; the stock was an amazing dark rich beef stock. Even without the noodles it would have been so fulfilling. As we were enjoying our lunch, we just noticed how much busier the place was. To only sit-down customers but also lots of take-out. This is a place to remember. I can only highly recommend and definitely would like to try more items on their menu.

Went to kelowna just after the long weekend on a tues. I have never been but a friend who came with recommeded coming to woodfire bakery because he goes everytime he is in kelowna. They serve mainly subs/sandwiches and soups. It is cafeteria style line up order food, pay first and you get your number with reciept. When you food is ready they will call your number and you come pick it up. You can have it to go or eat in. They are only open from 11-3pm mon- sat so pretty much lunch only. They make everything fresh in house including the sub/ kaiser buns. My friend said they are known for their cordon bleu subs. He really likes their reuben sub. Therefore; we ordered 1 of each so I could try both. Prices are pretty decent for the portion. Cordon bleu tasted really good with ham, cheese and egg. The reuben was better with the garlic butter, saurkaut and corned beef. Next time I come I would like to try their roast beef and montreal smoked meat subs. The roast beef looked really good. One sub definitely good to fill you up unless you can eat alot. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because of their operating hours. Maybe in the summer I would suggest open again from 5 or 6pm- 9 or 9:30pm. That way you can get the dinner rush or I myself could have a sub for dinner/take out hahaha. I will definitely come here everytime I visit Kelowna. If you can make it while they are open I would highly recommend this place for lunch.

Wow, what a great find! Delicious and filling food here! Order and pay at counter. Line up went quickly. Very well organized to keep the customers moving through. Friendly service. Quaint Bavarian decor. Having a small appetite, you can definitely share a dish. The Reuben sub came open faced and was freshly made, waiting about 7 min for it. The Pork Hock was tender and good. Generous serving of sauerkraut with each dish. Limited number of tables to sit at. Lunch Service only, 11am til 3pm. Good parking all around. Cash and debit only.

A staple in the area but I found the recipes dated and the food heavy. The service is excellent and they have moving a large group of people through the cafeteria style line down to a science. We tried the popular items - Chicken Cordon Bleu Sub - Chicken Volute with a kaiser - Ham hock, sauerkraut, and kaiser. - Soup of the day - Cream of Broccoli. Im not sure I can recommend any, maybe the ham hock.

The food was excellent, we had sandwiches and a cookie and stuffed croissant for dessert. Not a single complaint.

Although the macarons were good, the best I've had were at Bon Macaron Patisserie in Vancouver. However, the other sweets were outstanding. I highly recommend the Moulin Rouge (flourless mousse cake) any of the chocolates that include caramel, and the cherry ganache (candy). They also had mille-feuille, which is made of thin layers of pastry with pastry cream in between. It blew my mind. Service was okay. The young women who worked in both places were super busy and a bit impatient. As far ambiance goes, everything was bright white and clean. Expect a line.

I ordered the Supreme Croissant, NYC Toffee Roll Praline, and London Fog Tea to eat in. I also got a Croque Monsieur, Millefeuille, and Cruffin for take-out. The NYC Toffee Praline Supreme Croissant was very delicious. The dough was crispy on the outside and nicely moist on the inside. The filling was very flavorful, and I highly recommend this item. The London Fog Tea was okay and paired nicely with the croissant. The Croque Monsieur was very tasty, making it a delicious savory option. The Millefeuille had a wonderfully crispy pie crust, and the cream was perfectly sweet; I really enjoyed it. The Cruffin's filling was very flavorful, although the dough could have been crispier. Nevertheless, it still tasted very good. Overall, I really enjoyed visiting this bakery-cafe. It had a cute ambiance and many options for cakes and baked goods. I would love to try their cream puffs or other cakes next time!

The pumpkin cake featured dark chocolate, a sable base, pumpkin pie custard, and passionfruit cheesecake. The pumpkin pie custard resembled the filling of a pumpkin pie and was covered by pumpkin-shaped chocolate. The passionfruit cheesecake layer was not very dominant, allowing for a well-balanced combination with the pumpkin pie custard. The sable base complemented the dessert perfectly. The apple dessert featured apple-lime compote, yuzu mousse, a white chocolate shell, and a sbrisolona cookie base. The apple-lime compote was tangy, but it blended well with the yuzu mousse, making it seriously delicious. I usually can't handle tangy desserts, but I enjoyed this one; it was that good. The sbrisolona cookie included almonds (or possibly other nuts), which added a great flavor as well. The maple pecan cube croissant was very delicious, too. A notable point was the filling; the maple flavor was delightful, leaning slightly on the sweeter side but still so good. The maple drizzle with pecans on top of the cube croissant made it even more delicious. I highly recommend this item! Without visiting Karat, my trip to Kelowna wouldn't be complete. I can't wait to visit this bakery-café to try different items.

Staff going by don't acknowledge the waiting customer. When you place your order they don't give options. Today I ordered two ham & cheese on Focaccia To go! I thought there was a special as the sign said two for $10.50 and they were small. I ordered two from the staff member who had appeared after a few minutes. No questions, she just grabbed two went into the back. Not sure why. Came back with two sandwiches each on a plate in their own paper bag! Rang then up on their fancy card machine and walked away! The amount was $21.00. Another staff member came. I asked the staff member about the sign that said two for $10.50. Was told that was for the small sandwiches which were half the large ones and I got the large ones. End of conversation. No option to get what I wanted. We drove home. Put the paper plates on a dinner plate and sat down to eat. Nice poration of ham & cheese! No lettuce, mustard or cucumber. The bottom half of my sandwich was so soggy I had to throw it out. The focaccia seems like day old. The food has not on average been bakery/cafe quality and lackadaisical service model doesn't encourage me to go back!

Tons of baked items on display when you arrive, plus a small menu of breakfast / lunch items. Since we wanted something heartier and less sweet, we ordered a couple of breakfast burritos ($6 each plus tax), as well as a couple of coffees to go. The burritos were ready in under 10 minutes. The burritos were very small, but I guess for $6 it's not a bad deal. Unfortunately for us, everything is also gluten free, so the wraps that come with the burritos are not a nice texture -- very papery and dry, and doesn't seem to stay together all that well. The filling was better, coming with tofu scramble, potatoes, and vegan cheese. The scrambled tofu was nice, the potatoes were dry and didn't have great texture, but the vegan cheese gives it a nice sauciness to it. They've gotta get better wraps for these, as this was a bit of a deal-breaker for me; I wouldn't order these again. 2.5/5 The coffees on the other hand were very nice. I'd gladly come back for coffee and maybe to try the baked/sweet goods.
