This review is for the LINGERIE and INTIMATES Department on the 5th floor. Advice: Get sized by the fabulous folks at Nordstrom, come here for the clearance racks. That is, if you're looking for a DDD or under. If you're me, then stick to doing your shopping/returns online...sigh. As a well-endowed lady with a small back, it can be challenging to find a bra that fits (and are actually cute/versatile). Typically I buy my bras and swimsuits online, from U.K. companies (who understand & acknowledge that women have breasts). Lately, however, I've found that the things I'm ordering are not fitting quite right, and wanted to try some things on in-store (and possibly do some purchasing) to re-assess my bra size. Firstly, let me start by saying that their intimates department is much LARGER than I expected. Many many companies and lots of clearance racks, sorted by said companies. I was impressed by the sheer size of this floor. I immediately gravitated towards brands which I know carry my (currently under scrutiny) size. Wacoal (their line, B.Tempt'd, includes a style I particularly adore) and Natori being the ones which mainly come to mind. Not much more than that, I think. Was disappointed at not finding anything beyond a DDD size in a 32/34. A salesperson, who had to check their inventory via the computer, confirmed that they do not carry any F cup sizes. That was the only time a salesperson helped me, when I asked her behind the counter a specific question. She did not offer any sort of additional help. The department was pretty dead. I wasn't looking to get sized or anything (most American companies lack sales personnel who are properly trained to do so), but I was hoping to have someone at least snag me some styles in the size I was looking for. Instead all I got was a "No, sorry." No "we can order a size for you" or another store/online recommendation. Just a shrug and a "no". In a lot of ways it's sad to see the brick and mortar retail industry dying, especially with highly specialized (and finicky) items like undergarments. But experiences like the one I had at Macy's confirm that many are going out without a fight. read more

Macy's wow to review, ha.. get ready, put your hand on the escalator and get ready to walk. Is it me or is this store just large.. Maybe it's me and maybe I'm getting so used to being in boutique type places, but it is simply painful to shop here. I wanted shoes. High heel open toe pumps to be precise. From the moment I arrived in front of this place it's chaos. I 'll spare you the craziness but I'll only say that my poor salesperson deserves the medal of who knows what for working here for one day and surviving it. I felt I had to tip her because she was simply exhausted and still retrived my shoes while others were standing around with shoes in their hands! Sometimes you just feel like checking out furniture. Go to the 3rd or 4th or 5th floor and try out the couches. If you have extra time, try out the mattresses too! The salespeople were friendly and no one was upset at me and my friends for test driving their love seats. I was glad to find out my friends were cool with just hanging out in my pretend living room. The first time I walked into downtown Macy's shoe department, I started hyperventilating, and my pupils dilated. I had never seen that many shoes in one location before, (I didn't grow up in SF). I had to make a quick mental blueprint of how I was going to proceed and then I spent the next 2 hour in shoe heaven. Yes, this is THE iconic eight-story Macy's in San Francisco that you've probably seen in every movie of the city every made. And yes, with its beautiful decorations including lit wreaths in every window on every floor during the holiday season, this Macy's is just as beautiful in person as it is in the movies. What you probably don't know is that in addition to the amazing clothes, shoes, home, and beauty shopping that lies on those eight floors, this Macy's also has a food court in the basement featuring a Boudin bakery, Ben & Jerry's, Godiva, and plenty of other food options, and on various floors of the store you can find an amazing macaron shop called Tout Patisserie among other shops, and at the top of Macy's lies the Cheesecake Factory restaurant that has outdoor seating and stunning views of Union Square. You could spend an entire day in Macy's if you so desired because it literally has everything you could ever want or need, and I always make a stop by this store whenever I am in Union Square. read more

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...yeah, they fooled me twice. Two part story, one event leads to the next. Here's your bedtime story folks... Once upon a time, a non fancy looking Asian guy goes into the Men's department looking to purchase cologne. He found the one he wanted, picked up the box, and asks\ed the sales associate who was looking around to pass out samples of scented cards the cost of the said cologne. The sales associate grabbed the box from my hand, looked at the box, tells me that it's $70 dollars, acts like I cannot afford it, and PUTS IT BACK! Say whaaaatttt?! You don't want to ask me if I want to purchase it? Last time I checked, my credit line is the same as the next guy. After standing there for a brief few seconds, looking at him with major confusion, I walked out. After some Amazon-ing, and not finding it there, I decided to utilized Macy's online purchase to pick up at the same store (I know, you must be saying to yourself, this guy is not very bright. Yeah, I don't feel like I am either), and thought it would be a smooooooooth transaction. Pay for it online, and go there to pick up. How hard can that be? You know i got a story for you! Received a confirmation the next day to pick up my purchase at the MEN'S DEPARTMENT (underline, bold, italicize, increase font that), 4th floor. "Cool", I say to myself. I will go pick it up after work. Strolling in, and I may have been even whistling towards the pick up area, I felt good. Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy. Went up to the counter, showed my print out of confirmation, and then...DUN DUN DUN. One of the sales associates then told me that it was not there (without checking the back). She assumed that it was not in the back. Told me to go to the other building. But wait...I bought Men's cologne, and the online confirmation told me to go to the Men's department. That makes sense...why send me to the Women's department to pick up Men's cologne? Baffled, I obliged, and went to the Women's department pick up. As I arrived at the counter at the Women's department pick up, I was greeted by a sweet individual who checked my print out, and then went to the back to check for it. She arrives back at the counter and communicated to me that it wasn't there. She told me the item should be at the Men's department pick up which I replied I went and the representative told me to come here instead. She helped me call the other department and come to find that it was at the MEN'S Department pick up ALL ALONG! I thanked the representative at the Women's Department for her help as she was really a sweet person, and walked back to the Men's Department to retreive what was there the whole time. So I guess online purchasing, and picking up at the store is not all that quick and convenient for non-fancy looking Asian guys. 5 stars for the individual at the Women's Department pickup. -4 stars for the individual at the Men's Department pickup. Difference is 1 star. Macy's, if you're going to mess with people, don't make it THAT obvious. read more

Macy's fired Santa John because an old couple sitting on his knee didn't like the fact that Santa knows where all the naughty boys and girls live. Are you kidding me?! Too bad the older couple had to interpret this in a sexual content, because naughty could be any variety of non-sexual activities. Lets hope they don't visit the Castro where their delicate sensibilities may become ruffled further. I hear Iowa is nice this time of year, no "rude" Santas there, I'm sure. I have worked in this building for 1 year and 6 months and I am followed around the building by assets protection while I am shopping. It is very discouraging and upsetting to be made to feel as through I am doing something wrong or that I need to be followed. I am a Hispanic Male with Tattoos and in 2021 I can't comfortably shop in a building I've worked in for over a year. Asset protection should profile based on shopping patterns and not looks. This is not a review of their products, just a review of their customer service. My elderly parents were shopping in Union Square on Tuesday afternoon. They ended up in Crate & Barrel to do some window shopping, and when they were done, they asked a salesperson to call them a taxi (so they could get back to their residential care facility). The salesperson refused to do so, and told them they could just get a cab outside, and then turned away. So, my parents trekked across the street to Macy's, where a courteous security guard/door person was happy to call a cab for them and even helped them into the taxi when it arrived. I'm glad they were there to help since my dad, who is very frail and uses a cane, fell in the street while attempting to get in the cab. THANK YOU MACYS AND FUCK YOU CRATE AND BARREL! read more

Lately I've been taking out my aggression on tourists. If they're walking and texting or walking and not paying attention... I briefly consider dodging them. But then I think, why should I be the one who has to run this gauntlet? So now I just slam into them. Yelling at them not to stand on the left side of the escalators in BART/MUNI stations is fairly cathartic as well. You don't want to get Macy Gift cards as gifts. If they are not used in a very short time from purchase, Macy's takes the value down to $0. That has happened to 3 of my gift cards. One was worth $120.00. One was worth $80.00, and one was worth $37.27. When I tried to use them the balance was 0. Macy's must be having some serious money problems to need my $237.27. read more

A "teenage" rebel like myself should never admit to buying as many of their clothes from Macy's as I am afraid I do. But they are always on sale, and additional 30%, and frequently I insist on the reluctant sales-assistant removing the last available "medium" from a mannequin out on the floor - which at least makes it seem like I am getting something that is "exclusive" or in short-supply. So, why just the one star? Because when I show up to "pre-view" day with the explicit purpose of trying on an Alfani jacket, you should at least have one available. Despite the fact that the leather jacket (allegedly reduced from $499 to just $99) was the first thing you would see on Macy's website and the flagship item in many of their full-page printed ads, the first assistant I asked in the outer-wear department looked at me like I was crazy and could not have cared less. The second assistant said something like, "oh yeah - I think they had a few of those upstairs in suits - but they are probably all gone". The guy in suits proudly showed me the one remaining jacket (38 short!) and said that the other five had "strangely" all sold out just today. (Hmmm- it might just be those full-page ads!! Yer think?) That's just six jackets for a major, Memorial Day sale - a flagship item for a flagship store with a catchment area of (say) 2 million customers? I told him so - he did not get it. One star! Nevertheless, I almost made the mistake of buying a great DKNY leather jacket for $475 as I left. It was a bargain - reduced from $799 (supposedly). This store has restored my faith in Macy's! It's huge, and shiny, and extremely well stocked. We went all over town looking for dresses and I couldn't find a thing, but at Macy's I had choices!! I actually had more than one to choose from! Me...picky amazon woman! All this after I spent hours in the Macy's by my house looking for a dress a few weeks ago and found NOTHING! ...and even though it was crowded as hell, all of the employees were really nice to us! Of course, the longest line I waited in was for the bathroom...but you can't have everything and if you're a person like me who loves shopping in crowds (call it a group energy thing) it's going to happen to you. read more

Macy's has never been my favorite department store, but their cosmetics and fragrance collection as well as their annual Santaland will keep me coming back at least once a year. This location is also ideal, central, and the Cheesecake Factory in the building offers a good view of Union Square Park. I've only been there twice, both times to accompany visiting family members from Indonesia. Both times, the atmosphere and cheesecake selection left them rather satisfied. Macy's doesn't carry higher end products from the European luxury brands, unlike other department stores. Macy's does, however, carry a good variety of popular American designer products including Michael Kors, Coach, and Kenneth Cole. Macy's occasionally offers promotions and/or coupons off all items, so make sure you check online so you can apply relevant discounts at checkout. Street parking is rare and unreliable. Alternative parking is available for an hourly fee at Union Square Park or the Ellis-O'Farrell garage. read more

Macy's tends to be my go to place when I'm in need of a little retail therapy, I shop Nordstrom's when I know what I want but Macy's when it's just therapy. I go to Macy's mostly because they are ALWAYS having a 1-Day Sale and I can find something cheap that will satisfy my need for something retail-y. I ventured into Macy's looking for something, anything, maybe a new top I didn't know. I looked on the directory for the 'fat' girl at happy hour section, found the floor and headed up there. I walked around and around and around trying to find it and finally I peek around a corner and there it was. I think this Macy's has an issue with fat girls at happy hour too because they have their clothes hidden from the rest of the store. I walked up the stairs and started checking the goods out, oh we have that in Seattle, oh that too, and that, and that and that, where was the unique to San Francisco brands, styles, colors? I couldn't find them. I did however gain another fan because one of the sales ladies followed me all over the section but refused to ask me for help. I wasn't having it so I stormed off out of there. On my way out the door I walked through the makeup area and lo and behold I found a Prescriptives counter, why doesn't my Macy's have a Prescriptives counter? Please someone explain this to me! So I stop, I needed mascara and the nicest, sweetest lady was there to help me. She also let me know they were having a 'special' gift when you bought the mascara it was a little more than just buying the mascara but it came with things I needed like eye makeup remover that I forgot to bring and their lash builder that I ran out of a while ago. Wow. I usually hate shopping at Macys because they have their merchandise all over the place. But I got a $50 gift card, so why not. I casually walk to the fragrance dept. and look around at some different perfumes and colognes. Then, I look around for someone to help me out. There seem to be approximately 10 to 15 middle aged women who are just speaking to each other in groups of two (oh yeah, supposedly these ladies work at Macys). I think Macys has a policy requiring the employees to ignore you for 30 minutes before offering to help. I was waiting for one lady to finish ringing up a customer before me (they were having some credit card problems, been there done that) and wanted to see how long it would take before one of the OTHER FIFTEEN employees would offer to help. It took them ten minutes to walk their slow asses over and ask me if I needed help. Now I worked in retail for a year, and I distinctly remember that you are supposed to cease conversation with your fellow employee once a customer even "looks" like they need help. Please, Macys, find some new middle aged ladies. Preferably ones that all speak different languages so they don't stand around talking to each other. Today, July 2nd 2011 @ 11:45 am, I approached the MAC cosmetic counter to find two young girls standing around. I approached one (dark skin (filipino maybe?), black hair with blonde streaks, with teal eyeshadow) to help me with lashes. She showed me where they were and then as I was deciding she asked if she could help another customer who was looking around. I said I've already chosen what I want and I need you to help put them on (which should only take about 5 minutes) and that I'm on lunch break so I do need to be fast. She said "Well, I'm the only person here and I do need to help other people in the meantime, so if you dont mind waiting." I said, "I'm in a time constraint and if you can help me first that will be great." She said, "But I need to help other clients." I ended up not purchasing anything because she was not accomodating to my needs nor was she willing to assist me as a customer. I'm still a customer and service should be given. Very disappointed in MAC because usually service is always good. NEVER again will I buy from this counter again! Where is the training of these people?!?! I work in a high end retail establishment and as much trouble and demanding a client would be, you always need to accomodate them. DISAPPOINTED! read more

This is in no way a reflection of Macy's, as I have always experienced great customer service from reps. on the floor. This is however, regarding the MAC cosmetics, located at the lower level. For the last two days, I have been spending my lunch hour amidst the bountiful array of cosmetics, and with so many to choose from, how can we as woman decide who is right for us, when every counter beacons you with the promise of youth, a glow, the best coverage, the fullest brow, the sexiest lip, you get the point. So, I decided to take it one counter at a time, really getting to know what these marketers are promising and why I should pull out my hard-earned cash, or that plastic green card. My first stop was at the Bobbi Brown cosmetics counter, but that's a review for another time, and one that warrants more stars. MAC cosmetics on the other hand remains at the 2 star, meh experience. I approached the entrance and was greeted by a young lady, who immediately shared that she was helping someone else and would be right with me. Once she could address me, the service was rushed and almost with brushes that were not sanitized, as I had to stop her as she reached toward my face with a brush that she grabbed from some unkempt container on the counter to please do so. Once the brushes were sanitized and a brief discussion as to what I wanted at MAC was established, we were on our way; she hurriedly applied a shadow, and then another she turns me to the mirror as she says "see that looks good, here I will leave you to apply the eyeliner". I was sidelined, as another customer walked in and must have fit the bill as to what MAC constitutes a customer to be. I waited patiently for exactly 8 minutes, applying liner, wondering to myself- am I doing this correctly for the look I am trying to achieve? she never returned. I gathered my things, said thank you, Ahh, finally, I got her attention, she said "oh, I'm sorry, you understand. Yes MAC, I certainly do. I went over to Bobbi Brown counter, was immediately greeted by Pooja, (see how I remember her name) like an old friend that she hadn't seen for some time and was pleasantly reminded that customer service is not a dying breed. I purchased two shadows, an eyeliner, and mascara, you do the math :) read more

We were browsing couches, which by the way are out of date looking, and an employee approached us to offer her help, which was nice at first, until we wanted to get away from her, but she followed us like a blood thirsty shark making the entire experience extremely uncomfortable. She corned us multiple times after escaping, handing us her card, dropping her name, reiterating information we did not care about, trying to pull us back to the couches, etc. After each escape she would hover about 20 feet from us no matter where we went. yuck read more

I'll keep this review short and simple because I don't have anything nice to say about Macy's. I had been searching for a particular pair of boots for about a month and found that they had one pair left at the San Francisco branch. I drove all the way from San Jose to the city. I even called in advance to have the shoe put on hold for me. BTW, I was on hold for 30 minutes before someone answered the phone. Once I get there, the shoe floor is a disaster. It looked like a tornado had struck the place. I went to several cash registers to only be passed on to the next one. Word to the wise, there is a main cash register that keeps all the "on hold" items and that's located on the opposite end of the escalators. The cash register station in front of the escalators is referred to the "salon". It's Macy's employee lingo that I had to figure out for myself. What kind of people does Macy's hire? Unhelpful ones! Employees who stand around and appear to look busy. BTW, employees are paid by commission, so there may be some rivalry amongst them stealing customers' shoes (direct quote from an employee). Not even was the manager helpful. No one kept their promise of calling me back to confirm or to inform me of the status of my shoe whereabouts. I never got my boots. This has definitely put a sour taste in my mouth about Macy's. Definitely not a fan anymore. read more

Yesterday was Macy's one day sale. My mother in law received some coupons in the mail,so we decided to pay it a visit. Although the coupon stated that the coupon could be used towards on sales and clearance items, Macy does not honor it. The one day sale is counted as special event! WTH?!? The sales person in both the women department and fine jewelry department were very pushy. They are trying to force a sale by putting mud on their own face. My mother in law was looking at some pearls and the Asian sales person said the inexpensive pearls with crystals ( Msp.$2400) are too cheap and not good quality and suggested that we go look at some real diamonds (msp. $70,000)! So ridiculous.....sigh! I never really liked Macy's anyways; I will go to Bloomie's instead next time! read more

Spent hours here browsing trying to find the right gifts. Couldn't focus on what to get because I was being followed the entire time, treated like a criminal. Had to buy on each floor otherwise they have loss prevention guys trailing way too close for comfort. What ever happened to social distancing during a global pandemic? They have security guards at each door so if someone appears to be stealing you can grab them very easily at any point of exit. While the selection seems like it would be great and you would think sales staff might want to sell you stuff, this was not my experience here. I was looking for a nice dress to wear to a family wedding, so I was shopping in the fancy dress section. I browsed the entire area, occasionally trying to catch the eye of one of the sales girls milling around, and was soundly ignored. I found one dress that would have been perfect except that I could only find one in that style and it was the wrong size. So, I took it with me to the counter to try to get some help locating others, since I figured it had been restocked in the wrong area or some such. Cranky woman behind the counter looked at me suspiciously and asked if I needed something. I told her that yes, I needed help locating this dress in another size. She paused, looked at me over her glasses, and said: "Everything on clearance is already out on the floor." She then turned her back to me to attend to another customer. Wow. So, it wasn't on clearance, and it's not like I was dirty or dressed really badly, but she seemed to think that I was trash and didn't belong in Macy's. Such bad behavior! Down with condescending snobbery! Shame on you! I went to Nordstrom's instead. They treated me well and helped me find something perfect. read more

This massive landmark store, spanning two buildings, is the shining beacon of my daytime district. It's dangerously close to my workplace, and I have been known to spend many a lunch hour in this complex. I hit my monthly Macy's budget on the first of every month, followed by 30 days of window shopping. The seasonal fashions keep me engaged in the Men's building, but there are also plenty of attractions on the other side of the street. The saleswomen and salesmen scattered about the store are not entirely helpful, and sometimes I wonder if I must cattle-prod or bribe the snobbiest of them to get any assistance. Macy's also hosts an impressive lineup of events, including the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, the Macy's Passport HIV/AIDS foundations fundraiser, and the Macy's Men's Underwear Show among other things! Macy's has an exemplary record in support of diversity and the GLBT community, and for that, I commend this corporation and proclaim them my favorite retailer. read more

I went to Macy's because I had to get shoes. I HAD to. There were holes in my soles. It was very bad, indeed. The thing is shoe shopping just isn't my thing. Perhaps I'm missing a piece of my genetic code as a full fledged woman but shoe shopping is not at the top of my list of fun activities. In fact, I don't like shopping much at all. But, I digress. So, I had to buy shoes. These shoes had to be cheap (under $60.00 was my goal) and comfortable simply because I wear them on a daily basis to work. It's bad enough to have to go shoe shopping, when you add in the aforementioned parameters things start to look pretty grim. I went once, after work to Macy's Union Square because no matter which shoes I purchased I wanted to put them on the good ol' Macy's card (get an additional percent off and not spend all my cash). I went to the second floor. The whole place was littered in heels, boots, slippers, flats, clogs, and mules. I honestly didn't know where to start. The frustration had begun. It seems to me that Macy's is always curiously over-heated. Whenever I go into one of their stores I get too warm while browsing. This is exactly what happened as I strolled the floor picking up one shoe after another to check the price on the sticker. Every time I lifted a shoe its underside made me cringe. The price of even the cute sale shoes made me queasy. All of the uglier shoes we're reasonably priced but too hideous to wear in public. This was my dilemma. It got so hot in there, there were so many shoes, that I gave up my search and shuffled out of the store in despair. The next time I made the trek to Macy's, about a week later, my love tagged along. He didn't get how shoe shopping made me feel so awful. I was determined to let him see how miserable an experience it can be. We came prepared. At least he did. He had a strategy on how to proceed. First, we wandered the perimeter to look at the shoes in the wall cases. Then we turned our attention to the shoes toward the middle of the display area. We even walked into the 'expensive' section where I rarely dared look for anything because it's way out of my budget. His idea was to find something I liked in any section and then use the more expensive shoe as a guideline to look for a knock off. Yes, I know he's brilliant. At last I discalced and placed the cute Clark's brand shoes onto my sore soles. What's this-a cute shoe!! I glanced at him. Then I glanced at the shoe. I glanced at him again. The question flew out of my mouth "So, how much?" He said, with a smile, "They're on sale". I walked to the register, shoes in hand & my oh-so-amazing bf. The man at the register said "Twenty-five fifty". I didn't know what he was talking about. I asked how much the shoes were and he repeated the same number. WOW. Ada in the Dress Department-- you need to improve your customer service skills. Not only did Ada deprecatingly say to me "you want the full treatment" huh? once but she had the nerve to say it again to me in front of other customers. And, what was the "full treatment" you ask? This is the nicest Macy's I've ever been to. For one thing, it's huge. The second, they hire nice people. Case in point, Ruth who works in the ladies' hosiery department. I was having trouble deciding what size of leggings to buy. The brand I was buying came folded up on little hangers. I'm sure you've seen it. Ruth let me take two different sizes into the dressing room to see which fit best. So nice!! read more

Not too crazy about this Macy's location (it definitely ain't New York). I find the store layout very counterintuitive and frustrating to navigate. The worst part is the pushiness of the salespeople. NO, stop asking, I don't want to pay with my Macy's card...because no, I don't have one...and NO I don't want to save 15% today!! Very creepy shoe salesman here. Looks like the late Jean-Michel Basquiat in a soiled suit and tries to multi-task by bringing you shoes to try on that you're not even interested in while asking for your phone number. Used to shop at the Union Square store whenever we needed anything. Haven't been in here in a couple of years, and I just remembered why. It was Monday morning, December 22nd. I ran in to purchase a necklace as a Christmas gift. I knew exactly what I wanted. the jewelry department being so large, I tried to find a salesperson to help me. It was 10:30 in the morning, the store opened at 9 for the Christmas Holiday. There were not a lot of customers in this place, actually more salespeople than customers. All of the sales staff with the exception of a few, very few were busy standing around talking to one another. I asked, politely, actually very politely where I could find the Pearl Necklaces advertised. The sales staff that were busy talking to one another would not direct me to the appropriate counter. I finally found a younger woman (early 20's) who walked me over to the display that I was looking for. She also suggested that I take my purchase to a specific counter as it would be much quicker..... If not for that one sales person who was actually busy stocking display cases, I would have walked. when it comes to Customer service Macy's is a total zero! This was my very last visit to a Macy's Department store. I will continue to make my purchases on line, and not Macy's On-line... read more

5 stars for Christian at the Benefit Browbar/counter. 1 star for [insert what's her name?!] at the Chanel counter. Benefit: Christian did a make-up trial on one of my friends and did my other friends' eyebrows. He is fabulous and is so nice, for real. Next time I need to purchase something, I am definitely coming back here to see him. All of the workers at Benefit were really nice and not intimidating like most make-up counters which can make customers timid and just walk away.. but not at Benefit! Chanel: Oooh no. There was only two people working here. The guy was busy helping customers with make-up but the lady was straight up mean. I asked her if they had the Glossimer set still because I saw it on display earlier and she said no they ran out but she could check if they have more in stock up stairs. She asked me if I was going to buy it, DUH... wtf, I would not go to your counter asking for it if I wasn't. How fucking rude. Her make-up was horrendous and she is too old to be damaging her hair like that when it is already frayed. Whatever. I am never coming back to this Chanel counter, at least the girl that helped me last weekend in Sacramento was really sweet. read more

Horrible customer service. Went to the jewelry section and 3 ladies standing behind the desk doing paperwork and clearly ignored me and another customer. The other customer asked them was anyone going to help us and she said they were not salespeople. One of them eventually came to assist the other customer. The man who came to help me showed me some earrings but walked away and left to help another customer while I was still trying to find the ones I liked. I left the store. I will not give Macy's my money for horrible customer service. Instead I went to Zales and purchased a pair of earrings for 1,000.00. I refuse to spend my money in stores with POOR customer service. read more

I went into the Men's Fragrance department looking for a gift. I knew some scents I was interested in and was certainly not in the mood to be bothered. Everyone knows there's nothing worse than a pesky frangrance seller! Unfortunately, this man approached me who was obviously sent from one fragrance line to promote only a few certain scents. He kept shoving scents in my face and would not leave me alone. He kept telling me that the scents I liked weren't any good and that his scents were far better. One particular one he pushed in my face was a new fragrance called (I kid you not) "Hummer." Even if it was the best-smelling scent in the world, there is no way I would buy it. Finally, when he left me alone for a minute, I escaped over to Nordstrom's where I had a much better experience. The salespeople waited until I asked for help, and then suggested a couple of excellent scents. I found the perfect one. I filed a complaint with Customer Service at Macy's and although they were quite attentive and considerate of my complaint, the experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that I will definitely be going to Nordstrom's for future fragrance purchases. read more

Welcome to discountville, population me! I came to the sixth floor in hopes of finding new bedding. I've had the same boring bedding since my sophomore year in college, it was time for an upgrade. I walked up to the first person I could find, his name was Raymund. I was like "Yo Raymund, I need some awesome, comfy, magnificent bedding, ASAP". Raymund was like "Hey Jason, let's get you set up", then I was all like "How do you know my name", and he was like "Macy's goes out of their way for customer service". So, his name was Raymund, and some of that conversation didn't happen. Before I knew it we had found the perfect bedding set. All in it was going to cost around a thousand bucks. Yikes. I definitely went super aggressive and got all down pillows and comforter. We made it to the register and there was a 30-40% discount on everything I had purchased, JACKPOT BABY. On top of that I was randomly wearing a red shirt and Raymund said they had another fundraising discount for wearing read so I got an additional 20% off. I walked out of Macy's with a copious amount of comfy goodness for about $570. ...I'm going to take a nap now. read more
