I'll start with the good! I found a sofa that I wanted to purchase, but due to covid it would not have been into the warehouse for a few months. I did not want to wait. Furniture and mattress specialist Anna T. Was more than helpful with finding me a sofa that would fit my expectations and helped me get the best possible price on it. Today it arrived in perfect condition and I am more than happy with it. The two delivery men were very friendly and helpful as well. Now the bad. I ordered a TV stand that was around 300$, it showed up in the mail broken. That is understandable and not always at fault of the person shipping it. I spoke with customer service about it and they told me my only options were to take the loss or return it and re order it once I got my refund. I ended up having to pay 10$ to return it on march 21st and still have not received my refund therefore I can not order another one yet. My tv continues to sit on the floor. Overall, all of the associates were very professional and helpful. I am just a little upset over the return policy on broken items. read more

Came in Saturday night to find a friend a dress she needed for an event she has this coming week. As we come up to the second floor we asked a gentleman if he could point us to the juniors or dresses area. He pointed us in the direction where those areas were but he said "you know we close in 5 minutes". My friends and I did not realize the time it was and had no intentions of staying longer than 5 - 10 minutes. Our party was really turned off by the behavior of this gentleman. As we walked away, I asked a young lady if I could speak to the supervisor. Bianca the store manager came over to the area we were looking around to see what was going on. I addressed my concern with her because we felt very unwelcomed. I advised Bianca we have a really sour taste for the store now. Bianca kindly offered us a $25 gift card for the inconvenience. I advised her we did not need any type of incentive, that all we wanted is to relay the coaching opportunity for the employees. We are regulars in this store and it was sad to see the employees treating their paying patrons this way. I have worked retail myself before and even if the customers walk in 1 minute before closing you should make them feel welcomed. Hopefully, these types of issues are addressed so we can continue shopping at this location. For now, our business will be going to the Macys at Fashion Square which is a bit of a drive since we live in the Biltmore area but we do not want to feel unwelcomed. read more

Needed to buy a suit last minute for a funeral for my mom. I went to Macy's at the Biltmore and worked with Douglas Klinge. Douglas helped to find me a suit, the suit needed some alterations. Douglas got my suit altered the same day due to the circumstances. Dawn in Mens Clothing is absolutely amazing!!!! Kind, friendly, and so so helpful. I had a lot of clothes in my hands and she noticed me in line and made room on the counter for me to set it down while I waited my turn. She also informed us about the savings of getting a Macy's card for my Dad. I shop at Macy's all the time and have never experienced such amazing customer service! She was so great! read more

A nice place to shop, but I wouldn't want to live there. I never used to be a department store shopper, but recently Ive discovered that nicer cloths just seem to fit better. Go figure. While I still like getting a deal, I usually wait until there is a clearance or sale or some type. The macy's at scottsdale fashion square seems to have more selection, such as more size options for the items you seem to like and a few more items to choose from also. For guys, I would suggest checking out the Dillards at fashion square; the mens dept is about the size of this entire macy's store. 2 or 3 times a year dillards has an awesome clearance event and you can pickup 65% off clearance prices; which are usually already 50 - 70% off the original price. I digress; this is supposed to be a review of macy's. If you're in the biltmore area and looking for higher end quality shopping go ahead and check them out, then travel down camelback to fashion square mall when they tell you the item you like is only available in your size at a different store. read more

Aside from the Macy's on 34th street in NY, this one is my favorite store. They carry all my favorite designers, especially for work clothes. Not to mention, the shoe department always the hottest selection of pumps. There's a tiny Ukrainian woman that works in the shoe department, I love her, she is SO patient with me and gives me her two cents as she keeps bringing out the shoes. I wanna meet the buyer for this store and become her/his bestie. They also have a personal shopper near the women's dressing rooms. Not that I'd ever have the need for one but you might. The sales people are always really nice and helpful. On a side note: I once met this old guy who said he brought Janis Joplin to this store to buy panties when she did a show here. I've always doubted that story but it never fails that when I go to the lingerie department I tell myself "I'm standing where the late great Janis stood." She's one of my all times. read more

This Macy's is by far one of the best I've been to. I guess the ones back home are either really over priced and the sales are twice too many picked through, but I found a couple great deals here. I felt like dressing up, we were going out later that night in Scottsdale so I thought a summer dress was in order. I checked the Designer line's sales racks and almost everything I tried on was a score. Still I settled on two really cute dresses. As I was leaving, I noticed another sale in the jewlery department and decided to grab a couple sparkly pairs with bright blue gems to bring out the color in one dress and match the other. I totally left that store happy as a girly girl and off to get ready for a dinner date! :) read more

A big shout out to Doug in the men's department. He's the personal stylist that helped me pick many new dress clothes that I really needed. His assistance saved me lots of time and he was able to really nail down outfits that fit my body type. There was no upselling with this experience. I told him what I was looking for and he immediately picked out a suit brand that I purchased before. I then knew Doug was going to really look out for me. Once we figured out the style and fit that I like, all I had to do was pick the colors that I wanted. Though this took a little bit of time, the process was easy and I really feel confident with the fit of everything I purchased-two suits, numerous dress shirts, dress shirts that also have a casual look to it, dress pants, etc. Now that I know the types of clothes I like, I plan to keep in communication with Doug and as different colors become available, I plan to add to my wardrobe. I'm not oppose to spending some of my hard earned money on really nice clothes but I also know that it's in how you wear it that makes the statement. With working with Doug, I feel like I got the best of both worlds. read more

Now this Macy's is worth the trip. I have been so disappointed in Macy's recently, but this particular location makes up for all the others. The ground level seems to be a huge men's department, but I didn't stay there, just passed through on my way to the second floor women's department. I was on the hunt for a pair of jeans and found the perfect pair for four bucks! Score! It was my lucky day. Only one pair on the sales rack and as luck would have it, my size. Levi's regularly priced at $54 for how much? Yes, this must have been the mother of all sales. Next trip, I'm skipping the Scottsdale mall location and shopping here! read more

Wednesday, November 7th @ 4pm. Do NOT ORDER ONLINE HERE. I walked into the 1st Floor men's polo department. I was greeted by Briceson and a older lady with brown hair who told Miss Briceson "see we haven't been shown that yet" assuming she was new? I walk up to pick an online order and I am not greeted but this old woman tells Briceson weirdly without me saying a word or having ever to pick up an order there. That I am there to pick up something? I walk up and she says "okay. Do you have your barcode then?". I think, "how uncomfortable I was not greeted now I'm given an attitude?". I show her my bar code from my online order. She scans it and I open my order as Briceson brought it over. This order looked XS instead of Medium. I ask if there is anyway to exchange it for something that's available larger. The employee proceeds to say "well how big is the child?". This has to be the most unnecessary question ever it could of been worded differently. This place was unprofessional and inconsiderate. Never go to Briceson for sure. Her and the woman (who I will be getting the name of and adding later) did not care or felt to "classy" or uptight to be kind or helpful. I will not restore to this store ever again. I will make sure to tell others about never ordering as well. I was offered a refund and never given a receipt. I had to ask for one. Never again. read more

This has always been my favorite Macy's but on Sunday we received the best service at this Macy's. We were returning a prom dress and purchasing a different one and all of the sales people were so polite and helpful, even with a return! They checked on us- but not too much and helped us find sizes as well as made suggestions. We ended up finding a perfect dress and I think the customer service is why. read more

This is the the cutest little Macy's. It has all the newest fashions scaled down. I shopped in the ladies department and I had no problems. I purchased my items and the clerk was so friendly. I remembered that I need some Armani Code so as I was going down the escalator. I stopped by the fragrance department. One lonely saleslady out of five that was standing around (holding up the counters) asked if she could help. I stated that I wanted to purchase Armani Code. The lady stated that Joyce could help me. "eeerr, which one of you is Joyce?", I replied. Joyce, another black lady raised her hand. I stated again what I was looking for. It became apparent that Joyce did not work in the department. Joyce asked another sales lady that was assisting someone else where Armani Code was. The saleslady pointed to the display. Joyce stated that she would let me smell it and she walked over to the display. It stated that I already knew what it smelled like, I wanted to purchase a bottle. Joyce again ask the same saleslady where the bottles where. The lady stated, "over there". Ok, now I'm agitated. Over there where? The lady finally pointed to another display. Geez! The disengaged, Joyce rang me up. No up-sale, No other recommendations. Nothing. I vowed never to purchase perfume from here again. read more

I went to get my iced coffee at the Starbucks and the associate making my drink was not wearing gloves and had the nerve to put his finger inside the cup when he grabbed it to begin preparing my drink. I asked him for a clean cup and he looked at me and said "why, I already washed my hands so what's the issue?" Is he not aware there is a serious pandemic?? Macy's in the Biltmore/Phoenix ,Arizona, has the worst customer service I've ever can you deal with in my entire life of shopping, which with me has been a lot! I've never felt so belittled ad well as so degraded ... Alex, a Manager at Macy's was very rude,un professional, and inconsiderate. He should not be in customer service! first my previously I had reported when my wallet was stolen I also had reported a merchant credit l had from Macy's because it had my name on it they told me no problem they would cancel it and send me another one. so I go to use it and then tell me is been redeemed when he called Macys Customer Service one day let me know that the one that was Redeemed was canceled but the Macy's employee let them use it anyways and when I went there to use my merchant credit they wouldn't let me use my credit and the person who stole it got use instead even though the Macy's employee knew it had been canceled. Meanwhile this is going on I still make my purchase of a pair of shoes and a blouse then go home go to sleep to get up in the morning for work and there's only one shoe in the box when I went to wear them!! I can't believe How they handle this upsetting situation they told me he would hold the shoe there for me as long as I needed them too till I it whenever I could come pick it up when I am there and back 45 miles altogether away and I work 60 hours a week so I asked them to send it to me and they told me no they couldn't that it was against their policy when I finally found the time to just run down there between work to get my single shoe and then just take an extra five dollars off which is barely payed for my gas. After all said and done I didn't even get an apology from the manager Alex who didn't even know where the shoe was when I got there and even though when I called they said it was in there waiting for me I was. I had waited in the store for over 20 minutes for the shoe to finally been found. Cosmetic department is lacking in customer service and most of the time they do not have anything in stock. Not sure why there's two ladies working Channel counter and no one working Dior sat there waiting and waiting, then asked for three different items ALL out of stock and I wish I could blame it on demand chains but it's always like this all the 12 yrs I've shopped there. Never had someone so interested in helping me with my makeup needs, I wish she could have done my makeup but was extremely knowledgeable in all Mac products, including skin care! Extremely poor customer service. Associates have a big attitude and do not want to be bothered with anything. Hardly any selection in Petite section or other brands. Associates are not trained and have less than zero motivation to help customers. It's very sad seeing Macys go downhill like this and every time one goes, it's getting worse and not better. It is no wonder that Macy's profits are in the toilet. It used to be that you could expect good customer service at a quality department store. At any Macy's you are lucky if you get service at all. I went in to the Biltmore location for some Christmas gifts. I went to purchase a few items from the jewelry department and had to hunt down a sales person. Then I asked for a box, it was a piece of jewelry after all. They had NO BOXES. NO GIFT BOXES AT CHRISTMAS!!! That is insane. There was no pen at the register to write the amount on a gift card they gave me. No pens anywhere. wow. Don't even get me started on the horrible selection of women's clothing, that's a story for another day. Macy's has a monopoly on the retail industry and it's headed for disaster. Makes me sad because a long time ago I worked at a Lord & Taylor in the Chicago area and I know what good customer service looks like. That was a top notch operation. I didn't think someone who was supposed to help my partner and I find clothes for a wedding was capable of making me feel so bad but I suppose you learn something new everyday. I sent my boyfriend in to get a new shirt and tie to match me for a wedding we were attending. I was at work and couldn't come with but he put me on video chat so I could share my opinion. During this call I let him know I didn't think he should wear white to the wedding.. duh. The sales associate had the audacity to say "well actually I disagree with her" . She then went on to say that she "hates when people match and that we don't need to." She also questioned him why I wasn't there since I know exactly what I want him to wear. Which again, SO RUDE. After all the nasty comments I told him I should have sent him to Saks, she overheard and told us I would need to make another paycheck before I could ever afford to go over there. I'm so appalled I can't even begin to come to terms with the fact someone made me and my partner feel so uncomfortable. read more

I usually love shopping at Macy's, but today's experience. ..??? I want to try on a pair of Timberland boots. They only have one option. There's no one at the counter so I go to the athletic shoe section . There two guys are talking about whatever and don't even acknowledge me when when I walk up. After asking about the selection and request to try on a size 11, the two continue their conversation for 30 seconds. I guess the guy has a real short term memory because he had to ask my size again. After returning from the back, he states they don't have my size in that style, but have a size 11 in this other Timberland shoe. I try it on for size and can't get my foot in. It's a size 10. I've gotten lucky at this Macy's location (at the Biltmore) a handful of times in the past... with both casual and work clothes, shoes, and accessories too. The staff has been hit or miss, but selection has always been decent. That is... until today. I had some time to spare after an afternoon meeting nearby, so I decided to stop by and check out their latest sale. I was in the market for both myself and my almost one year old son. I stopped by the shoe section first and was disappointed to see that many of the brands that they used to carry were no longer there. I was not impressed with the shoe selection at all. So, on to clothes. I did find a couple of shirts that I liked: Free People and Splendid specifically (and bonus - there's a decent sale going on, but you do have to go through racks of stuff to find the gems). But they no longer carry Trina Turk and the quality of what they do carry seemed much cheaper than I remembered. I also asked a couple of sales people for help and they were not friendly at all. From there, I went up to the third level to check out the kids' department. Selection was not good there either; at least for boys. They had a few cute Carter's pajamas sets and some Ralph Lauren stuff, but nothing amazing that I had to buy. So, for a department store, Macy's is A-OK, but I won't be rushing back anytime soon. I much prefer Nordstrom's now for my department store shopping! PS - I'm by no means a shopping snob, so I hope the above doesn't come off that way. This is my go to Macy's when I am in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. Why, you ask? Because it has a great men's department. Many times the men's department at Macy's feels like it was added on just because they needed to have a men's department. Not so, here. First and foremost, the men's department commands prime retail space on the main floor. Macy's has figured out that it is not a good idea to try to lure the average male shopper to the back of the store where the men's department is hidden in a corner or worse, to send them up to the third floor. Most men like to shop fast and with as little fuss as possible. For most men, it's a game of, where is the men's department, where are the _____ (fill in the necessary blank) and then let's skip the trying on part and go straight to finding the cash register so we can get out of the store ASAP. Total time: less than ten minutes. At this Macy's I have spent time actually perusing the selections. I have vacillated between Tommy Bahama, Lacoste and Polo Ralph Lauren. I have ventured into the shoe department only to have my senses attacked by the wonderful aroma of Starbucks. I have even bought clothes I didn't even know I wanted. All the while my wife is happily zipping around all the clothing choices on the second floor. I will never be able to outlast her, but after I have made my quick purchases I take my book and find a comfortable place to read while she finishes her retail extravaganza. read more

Generally I'm not a huge fan of Macy's just because I'm enamored of the brand itself, which is why I feel like so many people love Macy's. Yes, you have to give them props for longevity, the parade in NYC, Miracle on 34th St.....etc....but companies simply cannot rest on their laurels and assume that bad service is ever OK. Which leads me to why I'm reviewing this location and giving 2 stars. When me mums was out for Thanksgiving a few weeks ago we went there because she wanted to look at some things for Xmas gifts. I drove her there and went along for the ride. While we were in the jewelry section she commented on a few items she liked and I made mental notes to come back and stock up for Xmas for her (after she'd left town). When I went back I was astounded by the rudeness of the employees/disinterest in actually helping customers. After several searching for a sales associate in the jewelry area for about 5 minutes with no one in sight, finally a middle aged white lady appeared in the fine jewelry section. She sort of hid behind a display and when I finally made eye contact with her she seemed completely put off by the fact that I had a question about jewelry. I told & showed her what I was looking for, but in a different size and when she asked if I was looking for gold and I explained no, silver...she rolled her eyes and wafted me away with her hand back towards the "cheap" jewelry. Fortunately for me (and Macy's) a lovely lady named Shell appeared and rushed over to help me, (despite the fact that I was "only" looking at $100 necklaces in silver). She was super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about her inventory, made some recommendations and showed me several pieces. I ended up getting the $100 necklace AND a pair of earrings from her and she was more than happy to help me, ring me up with me a smile and at least redeem Macy's momentarily. Shell rocks and should be promoted. The other lady should get the stick outta her choochoo and stop pretending she works at Tiffany's. On the way out I passed mens fragrance and inquired about some product for my roomie. The snotty little fashionista twink sales associate scoffed at my inquiry and and rolled his eyes and I thought I better get outta Macy's before my Shell-induced glow waned any further. All said, I got what I came for and have arranged some nice Xmas gifts for mom, but my overall experiences at Macy's mainly serve to solidify why I abhor the mall, large retail chains and would prefer to shop local indie. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with department stores. I don't like malls, in general. So this location has appealed to me in that it's kind of a stand-alone entity. You don't have to walk through a bunch of stuff to get to it. The parking (depending on when you go) has on many occasions offered me rock star quality spots so that alone gives them an extra star in my book. But yesterday, the unthinkable, the unimaginable happened. As you may have noticed, due to the 110+ temps going on right now, we are fully planted in swimsuit season. I, call me weird if you want, am not a fan of shopping for swimsuits. I feel that every dessert, every chip, every carb you've ever eaten comes to haunt you during swimsuit season. I marched into Macy's (having another one of their screaming deal sales), grabbed 5 swimsuits (mentally prepared to leave the dressing room in tears) and lo and behold, I fell in love with two of them. TWO SWIMSUITS IN ONE DAY! Did you hear that?!? That was the sound of my ample tookus falling on the floor in shock. That sort of miracle only happens for the fit-bodied or the blessed people who don't care what they look like in a swimsuit. Not for the people like me. The people who know what it's like to be continuously self-conscious, when-did-I-get-backfat, I'm pretty sure that isn't supposed to jiggle, why can't I wear a wetsuit instead so I can cover this flubber...Macy's pulled off a miracle yesterday. I left there feeling pretty damned sexy. That's worth 2 more stars. The final star is for the super sales they have for me whenever I show up. If you want a discount, all you have to do is ask. If you're from out of town, tell the cashier and they usually have a discount for that too. Or maybe that star is for the great shoe selection. It's not my favorite shoe store, but it's definitely my favorite in my neighborhood. read more
