NOTE: This location will be closing soon though it is still open at the time of this review being written and anticipate being open through April 2026. Every now and then, I find myself at a Saks Fifth Avenue for a quick gift at the Biltmore location or on their website. While they have a great variety of items, the prices are quick high, though there are occasional promotions on their website or through e-mails that are sent out. The staff have been helpful and always answered our questions and helped us on each visit. This is the only Saks Fifth Avenue store I have been to, though I have enjoyed the occasional visit to Saks OFF 5th stores in the past, too. Saks Fifth Avenue is considered the "premier destination for luxury fashion, driven by a mission to help customers express themselves through relevant and inspiring style." The have been around since 1924 and focus on an approach that combines a focus on the digital customer experience with a strong connection to a network of 40+ stores across North America for seamless, all-channel shopping. Eight of these stores will closing soon. This location is the only Saks Fifth Avenue location in Arizona. Recently as a part of their bankruptcy process, Saks decided to close its only Saks Fifth Avenue and all of the Saks OFF 5th stores in Arizona along with most of their OFF 5th locations (and Nieman Marcus Last Call stores) and 7 other Saks Fifth Avenue locations around the country while continuing to function otherwise as a company. Their website (https://www.saksfifthavenue.com) has regular priced and sales/clearance priced items, and if you sign up for their e-mail list, you can get 10% off your next purchase. There are also promotions like the Designer Sale of up to 70% off, earning $50-500 gift card with purchase, and free shipping with $300+ purchase. Recently, the bankruptcy process has been of particular interest to those American Express Platinum card holders, as they get $50 credit for purchases at Saks Fifth Avenue stores every six months, and if they purchase physical gift cards in the store, they can get the credit back that way, and the gift cards can be used at Saks Fifth Avenue or OFF 5th locations or online. read more

Not in Phoenix but "on line." Saks and their "Bread Financial" will NOT return your money even if they have the merchandise! They wait until the 18th or the 19th when the Sak's bill is due and THEN credit the customer and crap they try and sell you when you call is total bull beyond! They play this game with your money and there is no doubt they are closing-good riddin's! Deserved! Sak's/Bread Financial are the worst company to step foot on this planet! It's your money/credit but it belongs to them until the 18th/19th at which time you get the refund. WTF? Stay far away from them and their financial banking-losers beyond! read more

Of course this place is highly recommended. The merchandise in this classy store is all brand names, most of them designer!!! The sales people were very welcoming and helpful. I was intimidated to come in here as I knew this place was not only high end and pricey but very expensive!!! I get some of the expensive cosmetics here because I know it's worth it. Was sad this location is closing. Came to check out their closeout sales. I tried to find someone to check me out and couldn't find a soul in sight. Finally an older British lady with very blonde hair came running up the escalator to tell me the store was closed (refused to provide her name). I told her I want to make a purchase and she told me all registers are closed and I have to leave (it was ONE item!). Store closed at 7p. It was 6:57. I have never been refused a purchase before. Maybe why they are closing this location. Doesn't help with revenue if you refuse to sell product and close-up shop before the store is actually closed. This store has limited inventory. What struck us the most was how cold and unwelcoming it felt. Very pretentious clerks. They look miserable. The store lacks customer experience. It lacks appeal and warmth. It almost feels like a store that's closing. We weren't impressed. The shopping center itself is very nice. We didn't have this experience at the other stores. The management and overall atmosphere of the Biltmore location has went absolutely downhill under the leadership of the new store director. I reached out to the store director after an SFA employee was very aggressive and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. What is more, this employee's behavior was completely ratified - perhaps even encouraged - by other employees and later management. There was no apology or remorse expressed over the situation. My interaction with SFA management left me much more disappointed in this location. SFA has failed to appropriately address this situation or offer an apology. I bought Chanel eyeshadow there and the sales assistant was lovely, kind and helpful. The Chanel single eyeshadow I bought, however was the worst eyeshadow I have ever used. It is chalky, does not glide on smoothly at all and spread all over the place. She actually did not really recommended it but I wanted it because of the size and brand. read more

Sadly, I agree with the other individuals who have posted comments regarding the lack of customer service. I went to determine what they might have in the way of evening dresses for a family member's wedding. Two gentlemen in that area that we're working there, would not even acknowledge our presence. I had to hunt down a girl who I couldn't understand because her accent was so severe, to assist me. She did as little as humanly possible. What a terrible disappointment. I order a pair of Balenciaga shoes online from Saks. The shoes was to small I never try the shoes on. I put them right back in the box I received them in and return them the same day I received. Now Saks refuse to refund my money saying that the shoes was worn. I have been getting the run around about my refund. Please be aware not to order anything for Saks. They will put you on hold for the longest only for the phone to hang up and when you ask to speak to a supervisor or get corporate number they will not provide it to you. I was told I would get a call back from the store several times, but nothing. THEN, I ordered something for pick up and it was cancelled with no explanation. The sales ladies are always so pushy, it is uncomfortable. The only reason to consider shopping here is if you get the American Express credit. My tips: When you are going to see Christine Lee, consider having Gucci on with fancy makeup... or you would feel the reluctance from the store manager Mrs. Lee :0 I ordered a Staub 5-qt. tall cocotte Saks.com and it was defective. I brought this defective item to this store with the receipt and requested a refund (the Staub were not sold in this location). The conversation between the store manager Christine Lee and me was quite astonishing. Mrs. Lee came to me, took a peek at the cocotte and shook her head, "We cannot return the defective item in the store". I told her I already contacted customer service over the phone and now I just want to return this item. Mrs. Lee started to judge my way of using this cocotte by mentioning her friends who have this type of cocotte, and they had no problems with this item. I was confused by Mrs. Lee's judgemental comments. Since Mrs. Lee's friends having no issues with the cocotte did not indicate anything meaningful --- I could still get a defective item, and it's a matter of probability. Noticing I was ignoring her, Mrs. Lee continued criticizing the way I used the cocotte based on her own assumption by saying that I should have used it in a completely wrong way. I explained to her again and said to her: " I only used this cocotte once to cook rice with water and it got stains hard to remove." Meanwhile, my two kiddos started to cry in the crib since we'd been there for a while for this return. Surprised by Mrs. Lee's discriminative and judgemental words and realizing it was not efficient communicating with Mrs. Lee and listening to her complaint, I walked away and called Saks.com customer service over the phone by myself immediately. Finally, someone else came over and helped me successfully return this item. According to my personal experience based in this location, many customer service representatives were super nice and helpful. Nancy was a welcoming and humorous lady and took care of customers very well. There used to be an Asian young lady (I think now she went to an LV store in fashion square) who worked in the cosmetics department and was also helpful and kind, we even became friends. However, this store manager Christine Lee's condescending way to treat customers was beyond my imagination. I even wondered if she was a real store manager or someone who just swung by. Last but not least, I wore a casual suit and was busy with my fussy kiddos(2 and 0) on that day, with no makeup and fancy handbags, lol. All in all, I will give some of the staff 5 stars and the store manager Christine Lee 0 stars. On average, 1 stars for the customer service in this location. read more

Like all other SFAs, this one was decorated very eloquently. It has multiple levels and the layout is pretty easy to decipher. Service was quick and efficient. I just ran in and out to get a gift card. Overall super easy to do, finding the entrance to the store was the most difficult thing about the process. read more

Really awful. I ordered 2 items, they sent one item that was just wrong (not what i ordered) and another that was 4 sizes big and obviously worn. They request photos which o sent and sent me a return label. I returned them and they are refusing to refund. It has been 3 months of them doing an "investigation", the results of which is "inconclusive". So they now have kept the shirts and are refusing the refund. Really criminal and frustrating. Will NEVER be buying anything from saks... and will share this will all my friends and colleagues. There are so many similar complaints on the better business bureau. Shameful. read more

If I could give a negative Star, I would. bought a Jenni Kayne dress, poor fit, immediately returned. Saks received return on January 14th with ALL tags attached. It's February 14th and still no credit! I've called 2x, escalated to a supervisor each time. The first time they said it would take 30 days for the credit now we're at 30 days and now the supervisor is saying at least seven more days. This is not the Saks it used to be. I absolutely love this store they have everything you need and I normally go to actual websites to buy the items in there most the time same price as Saks And when you order with the actual upset you get some of the cool packaging but there's a lot of times I'm last minute and decide I want to belt for my outfit or for a trip and instead of waiting shipping with the regular retailers I can order it saks and always get it sooner ! & when I call I always get great customer service there is get right to the point help me with what I need and everything's perfect I absolutely love this location they will definitely get a lot of money for me! My first time coming to 5th ave I came in looking for a specific scent I was being helped by an employee I said I wanted a certain scent and said I didn't want a certain scent due to not liking it. while shopping I was instructed with many options but was still unsatisfied the employee started to give off an annoyed body attitude. I was constantly smelling the small sample I was given to sniff while the employee would just stare at me, I was uncomfortable at this point so I just settled for a perfume still not being 100% sure I would be satisfied with this product with a short amount of time to decide and being with an uncomfortable employee but this was to go out and I was going to make a final decision later in a more comfortable area with a clear mind. I went out using the perfume seeing how id like the purchase, I was given many compliments saying I smell like the scent I specifically didnt asked for. clearly i came back to return an over $400 perfume I was unsatisfied with the impression I could return due to not being told this expensive item is not return able nor any about policy. I came back 2 days later they accepted the return but my card was blocked so we asked if we could come back to make the return employee said yes of course. I came back again the following day since they accepted the return just to be told the item is not returnable. Again being my first time here and I'm completely disappointed with product and service, Employee failed to give notice to product being un-returnable. If an item is final sale or can be only returned in certain circumstances it should be made clear for 100% customer satisfaction or at least on the receipt. Non of these were given. not everyone reads shops policy before making a purchase. For being my first time at 5th ave and being a high end store the service was poor and uncommunicative. poor service, poor experience, poor communication, doesn't care about customer satisfaction. The fellow finally finishes w his customer and asks him, "Do you need something while eyeing another fellow dressed more formally in the section. My husband is wearing very casual clothing. He looks at my husband and then says, "Hold on a minute and I'll get back to you and leaves for the more formally dressed guy..." That was enough--goodbye, Saks. Because I have one left an one right foot - the shoes are unusable. They want me to pay shipping to return them. Unbelievable. I live in Chandler but enjoy the drive to the Biltmore Shopping Center. I always go into Saks Fifth Avenue first. I haven't ever had a bad experience. Yesterday, Josh helped me in the Chanel department. I instantly liked his personality. He is so friendly and helpful. He knew exactly the foundation and skin care I need. I had an extremely disappointing experience with Saks Fifth Avenue recently. I ordered two pairs of sandals online in different sizes for my son's wedding. When they arrived, both pairs appeared slightly used. Nevertheless, I tried them on briefly and then immediately returned them within the 30-day return policy, including a note explaining this is the condition in which I received them. Ordered April 1, 2024, returned April 12, 2024. To my shock, customer service refused to accept the return, claiming the shoes appeared worn. I reached out to customer support and even contacted members of their leadership team (Marc Metrick, John Antonini, and RJ Cilley) but received no responses except from customer service, who maintained their refusal to process my return. The lack of accountability and poor customer service is unacceptable, especially from a retailer of Saks Fifth Avenue's reputation. I am now left with used sandals that I did not wear, and my issue remains unresolved. I plan to take this matter to small claims court but wanted to share my experience to warn others about potential issues when purchasing from Saks Fifth Avenue. I hope Saks Fifth Avenue reconsiders their policies and improves their customer service practices. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing and I will no longer be shopping here in the future. After seeing so many others experiencing the same practices I realized this is standard practice for this company. Out of all the cologne choices I can make, my only choice is Jo Malone. I have been a long time user of these aromatic natural scents, and am absolutely in love. I layer my scents, so it's always something new. I have to call out Belle, who is an amazing consultant and just knows my taste. She messages me when something new in my scent palette arrives. I had a great experience while shopping here for prom dresses with my DD. She didn't know what she wanted, so it was long and drawn out process of trying on a gazillion gowns until she found "the" dress. The woman who assisted us was very helpful, patient, and accommodating. She held two dresses of interest while we continued to shop. DD's final decision was an elegant and classy evening gown from Saks. We returned to make the purchase and arrange in-house alterations. The dress was ready for pick-up within a few days of the fitting, just in time for prom. On our final trip to pick up the finished product, there was no one in the dress department so I had to wander over to the section that sells jeans. The saleswoman over there wasn't pleasant. She had that, "What are you doing here?" glare and tried to make me re-pay for the dress. The ticket on the dress clearly showed, "Paid," and I had my own receipt copy as well. I ordered a Theory blazer through the Saks online facility. Actually, the St Louis ordered it for me. They sold me some items and I needed the blazer. When the blazer arrived, it was sent in a box that was 3" x 8" x 10". And the tissue paper was just crumbled up. The blazer was a total mess and I actually had to take it back to the store and they were kind enough to steam it out for me. When I asked Saks online, who was responsible and if they could give me a gift card they said the store was responsible. Well I'm sorry the store was not was responsible it was the guerrillas in the online packing department that decided to stuff a blazer that cost quite a bit of money into a box that wasn't big enough. These people are terrible business people in the future. I will just work with the store. Saks online does not take care of its customers .. they would not take responsibility for their mistake even though I sent them very detailed documentation as to the problem. I am not going to go to the store and request a gift card because it wasn't the stores problem. They handled me quite beautifully. It was the online sales department and their fulfillment.
