Having taught retail education for 25 years, I can unequivocally state this establishment needs improvement on many levels particularly in customer service. The associates are supercilious and they are not interested in engaging with the customer whether they are there to shop or to bring things in for consignment. While the few high-end items I brought in were 'accepted' - I found the interaction to be cold and hurried as if the associate had better things to do. Telling customers they don't accept merchandise from Macy's and Dillard's or stores "like that" is not only insulting, but dismissive. It should be better phrased. Example of which, "We accept merchandise from high-end retailers like Saks and Neiman's because our extensive research tells us this is what our customers are seeking." This franchise exists solely because individuals bring in items for consignment which, in turn, enables the store to hire associates to sell and service the customer. The store turns a profit which pays not only the rent, butt the associates and makes the investors very happy. Their selection is amazing, pricing is very on point and they always have items in like new condition. A shout out to Kelly and the staff at the Biltmore location. Unfortunately other reviewers are correct :( I have a few designer pieces that met the price point requirement ($75) so I brought them in for evaluation. The staff at the front desk did greet me and smile (which wasn't what other reviewers reported) and sent me to the back for Vanessa to evaluate. I didn't really look at anything along the way but the store did appear to be clean and bright. I'm not one to judge physical appearance as I have plenty of my own insecurities and definitely take liberties with not doing my hair or makeup on the weekend. However, for an upscale business with such steep and rigid requirements, Vanessa appeared to be in a $9 target bathing suit cover up with bed hair. If someone is evaluating quality but didn't appear quality, there's mixed messages. Maybe her poor appearance was more a direct reflection of her horrendous attitude. While she did answer my questions (though not clearly or consistently) and "evaluate" my items, she said they didn't meet the price point which is untrue as many of the pieces were $100-395. So I asked how the price is verified and she said she just she "looks at the tags". So when I asked what she was looking for on the tags, she said that my brands were older brands. Is it the price or the brand or the age? So I asked for clarification as a few of the pieces are only 6mo-2 years old but she kept deferring to the tags. I also asked several questions about the timeline policy. It was EXTREMELY unclear but I kept asking until I was able to piece together that: if they accept any items, they will try to sell and if they don't sell within 30 days, they will mark the price down and it is YOUR responsibility to keep track of the dates and make sure you pick up your items for a $5 pickup fee EACH before the 60 day mark. However, when I kept asking, her answers kept changing so don't quote me on this. It is simply the best interpretation I could develop. Clearly this place is based on the idea of subjectivity and they don't actually have any rules. I wouldn't trust them. I'd rather sell online or donate to women in need. read more

I was honestly shocked to see such a low star rating on this business, as it historically has been a great place to sell and purchase from. I now know why it has such a bad rating... The employees are miserable to speak with. It's almost comical how terrible they are to their customers. I've not only experienced it myself, but also watched other customers get frustrated, turned off by unfriendly workers and walk out. Staff is not helpful and are misleading in general. Overall a shady weird experience. They didn't give me all of my receipts for items they took from my bag to resell when I dropped them off. I also had to go back inside for 2 items that were not placed with the others not taken in and had them on a rack vs with my other items. Very weird and uncomfortable almost there now and I'll never go back. I would recommend Vintage by Misty or Poor Little Rich Girl if you're looking for a similar store, as they offer a better selection, customer/seller and general experience. Conflicted... what I will say is when it was at its previous location on 20th St. it had a lot more options. I don't know what that's about but I do actually like that. It's at the Biltmore more. I'm writing this conflicted review because I'm not gonna lie I find some really cool finds here, some of my favorite pieces to wear so I love going in here every couple of weeks. However, one of the employees, a girl, thin build curly hair, light skinned. I don't know her name. She is not very friendly, kind of snippy and rude, she could learn a singer two about what good customer services The man who was in there with her was kind and friendly no complaints about him . The first thing she did when I came into the store seven minutes before close she didn't greet me. She just told me the store was closing when I had just told the man that I knew they closed in a few moments and he was very kind. I told her I knew they were closing , and then she proceeded to say in a empty store clearly only I could hear her that she will be locking the door in one minute and closing down the registers before 7 o'clock, which is their official closing time Then when I proceeded to ask a question about how often they get new stuff, she was very short and snippy again with me. I do not recommend engaging with this woman. She is not very friendly and has zero customer service skills, but like I said the options at this store and the great selection of clothes is wonderful. I purchased a nice pair of Prada boots and on the first day I wore them they felt a part... the bottom of the boot cracked and fell a part and I started to leave pieces everywhere. This is a horrible business. I left at the store as consignment a few items including Ives Saint Laurent, Jimmie CHOO and Manolo Blanick shoes I wore twice. Signed a contract for 60 days. They called me 10 days later on a Saturday after 4 pm and told me if I didn't pick up my items they were going to donate them. The contract says 60 days! So I had to cancel my plans and they charged me to pick up my own stuff, which I wouldn't mind if the 60 days contract was up but wasn't. I do not know all the staff by name but Cornell, Janelle, Zachary always greet me with a big smile and welcome me warmly...."Gary, what do you have for us this week?" (As I go through my recently passed wife's designer clothing.). They have sold just about everything I have taken them at good prices considering they charge 55%. Unusual example - I was about to put a pair of Chanel suspenders out at my yard sale for $25 when I decided I better show them to Cornell. They sold them for $1600! I am not out to earn a living off the sales but to empty my wife's 3 walk-in closets! They are tremendously helpful. Very respectful; very warm and friendly. They ARE very particular because their clientele is very particular. They "protect" their business and their customers, both buyer and seller. Ordered a Michael Kors watch online from the San Diego store, described in "5 star condition." Small problem, it didn't work. Apparent probable battery failure. I have changed literally dozens of watch batteries over the years, but this one was so difficult we took it back to the Camelback store in Phoenix. "Sorry, all sales are final," even if the customer expected it to actually work. Told to take it to the jewelry store, they couldn't do that. I then asked Cece or Bebe or whatever her name was, what would happen if I brought in a watch for consignment that did not work? She said that they would sell it, with the admonition to the customer that they would need to take it to a jeweler to get it fixed. I then asked why the San Diego store apparently had a different policy than the Arizona stores. I think we were BS'ed. After going to MSC and Well Suited for over 20 years, both buying and selling, this is what they think of customer goodwill, all over a $2 watch battery. Have a nice life, Ann. read more

My sister's closet Biltmore. Be wear of fake Alexander McQueen grey purse with fake serial number. I thought what a great deal $345 on sale with 2 mark downs. I got to a high end store to show my friend she researches the serial number it's fake. I said you are kidding me. I bought a Christian Dior purse 20 years ago fake $350. What's up sisters? You sell fake! Then the manager at Biltmore said I will return it this one time really I would hope so. I go to the store I was nice. I was upset and returned a Burberry as well $150 older style so $562 took 3-7 days to go back on my debit card. Then the manager tells the intake person. Give back my purse I was going to consign. Really after I have been a loyal customer for over 20 yrs I get treated like this. Well my sisters I don't need your fake purses, drama mis treatment and I am a therapist so maybe look into your business and purses make sure they are real and hire people who are professional. I will not be returning. I paid $5.00 a purse to get mine back at Pima location and had my mom pick up my money. I am so disappointed and disgusted no more my sisters closet your don't deserve my loyal customer service and support plus you donate to the Az humane society that's false you make them pay for your clothes.
