I recently bought two sets of tuxedos for my two teenagers at Macys, and Dy, the fellow helping us was very professional and patient. I had my boys try at least 3 different sets of tux to see which brand is the best fit. It took us almost 4 hours to decide and find exactly what we were looking for and Dy was always smiling and very helpful. They also do alterations so it was a one stop shop. Very convenient. In short, my boys and I left Macys suits and tuxedos department very pleased and satisfied with our purchase and the excellent service. read more

Horrible customer service. Bought a dress and it had a stain on it. Tried to return with all tags within 60 Days and they said they can't take it back because it isn't sellable anymore. Absolutely ridiculous!!! Never buy from here-- go to Nordstrom it's worth the extra buck and they have the best return policy. read more

You have never seen such rude and inattentive sales people in any other department store. You have so many other options than to shop here. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. read more

This Review is for the Bridal Salon by Demetrios (located inside of Macy's) and specifically Janice. Tonight i was in a panic because the dress I ordered for a wedding June 20th came in too small. I ordered it from one of those online sites which was a big mistake as it was non-returnable! Since these dresses are made to order i didn't have the 6-8 wks to order another dress. I called dress stores all over Bergen County including Bjou Bridal which wouldn't sell me their sample. I then called Bridal Salon by Demetrios and spoke with Janice. She was helpful, understanding, and spoke with her manager so that I could purchase the sample dress! She saved me as there would have be no other way to get another dress in such short notice. I recently attended Macys Bridal Salon just to look at dresses. This was the first time I was even trying a wedding gown and was not expecting to find anything. I had the pleasure of working with Anna who was my bridal consultant and she was faboulous. We picked 3 different styles and I fell in love with the third dress and knew it was the one. She was very patient and helpful. She even went out of her way to try on different veils and accessories and knew what matched perfect. Her honest opinions led me towards finding the perfect dress. I couldn't be anymore grateful and I am so happy with the customer service that was provided. read more

I've had many terrible visits here. I bought my girlfriend a ring that was on sale and I was given a military discount when I asked if they had one which took 15% off. The ring didn't fit so I went back to exchange the ring. A different woman with a European accent was taking care of me. When I showed the return paper and proof of purchase my transaction didn't "make sense". There supposedly wasn't a military discount. Then when she went to order the right size ring after doing the return for the first one, she said it had to be done by a debit card or credit card. So with the cash from my return I went to the ATM and put money on my card. Then I returned to purchase the ring with my card and she said this time that it actually has to be done by a gift card. So she tried ringing me up for a gift card but for some reason the gift card wouldn't load. Angrily I left. I returned again the next day and I was helped by an extremely angry older woman who was not happy at all to assist me. After 2 hours of her trying to understand my problem with past visits she called the manager to assist me and while on the phone she made it sound like I was demanding a military discount. Which was not the case. I just wanted an explanation for the first transaction that said I was given one. When the manager came over he seemed aggravated at me and was coming off very rude. He ended up adjusting the price and ordering the ring......but 3 sizes too small. I'm afraid to go back and deal with anybody else to return the ring I was sent. Horrible horrible horrible service. I will NEVER return to that store again. read more

Let me start off by saying how disappointing this shopping experience was. First, I could not find the suit's department, so I stood in line in the men's department waiting to ask where it was located in the store. It took the employee five minutes to just look up and ask if I needed help. I could tell the day was already going to be terrible. I finally found the department I needed, but I walked past an employee, Jay, five times without him asking if I needed help. I finally asked MYSELF what size blazer I should be looking for. After he helped me, he walked away and I was left figuring out what length and alterations needed to be made. I went to wait in line to pay for it and ask for alterations, where Raymond came and pulled me in the back to make the marks for alterations. I told them I needed it Monday where the tailor said it would be no big deal. Upon paying for the alterations and the blazer, Jay runs over to the register and starts fighting with Raymond for the sale because they make commission on each sale. Both employees then asked, "Who helped you?" and I could not respond because they both did not really "help" me and because I just wanted to get out of the store after being there for over an hour trying to find a blazer. Jay finally gave up and walked away. At this point, I realize that this department's customer service skills are little to none, because their professionalism and their demeanor towards sales are severely lacking. I asked Raymond what time the jacket would be available for pick-up on Monday since I needed to drive back to school on that day. I understand that Monday is Labor Day and I do not expect the tailor to go out of her way, however, I would hope she has a little care about her job and getting paid. When we ask the tailor, she asked what time I needed it for, to where I responded "10:00AM." She looked at me, laughed, and said, "No, No. Afternoon only." Raymond then tried to diffuse the situation and asked, "How about 12:00?" and the tailor laughed, "I said afternoon, not 12. Twelve is when I come in to work on it. Put it down as 4:00PM." I was so frustrated at this point that I accepted the time, and walked out of the store. I then thought about being able to bring the jacket up to school and get it hemmed up in Connecticut for cheaper, so I decided to return to the store to pick up the blazer and cancel the alterations. Upon getting to the suit's department, I waited in line for 15 minutes just for a register to open up to me. It then took me another 15 minutes to cancel the alteration and get a refund for it. Right after, they went in the back to find my blazer so I could go home, until they came back saying, "We don't know where your jacket is..." and that I would "have to wait for Raymond to come back so he can find where he put it." At this point, I wanted to scream and yell, but I held it in, being the nice person I am. I waited another 35 minutes before Raymond came back from his dinner break and he gave me the jacket. Upon handing me the jacket, he blamed his co-workers for not being able to find the blazer. My closing thoughts: Please, gain some customer service skills, use communication when deciding sales, and keep things organized so none of this happens to someone else. Once again, I am thoroughly distraught and I hope a representative from this Macy's location can explain to me why my day was horrendous. read more
