My first time here and I have to say I had a great experience. The finish line guys and the woman next to them in shoes. So awesome good energy happy to help. It was a really nice feeling. But I went upstairs and ANA a beautiful charismatic older woman made my entire day. So nice informative, helpful just a pleasure to be around. She made me happy to spend my money. I went there to buy sneakers and ended up spending almost $400 and no sneakers but I was happy to do it. We have been a regular visitor of this Macy's for over 10 years now. It's huge that spans over 3 different floors. Very clean and organized. This Macy's has a huge sales section that they call Macy's backstage. All items in this section are heavily discounted, so might get some good deals here. For Black Friday, they had lots of discount on regular items. I like their inventory for men's apparel. They have excellent kids section too. They have a huge jewelry, make up and perfume sections too. The associates are helpful here. Plenty of time we came here for online pickup order and returns as well. Last week my husband and I were in the men's fragrances. We wanted to try other fragrances but a woman named Lucy kept pushing the fragrance boss down our throats. I told her politely that we wanted to smell what a previous customer infront of us purchased. He purchased Jimmy Choo. She did not let us. We were about to leave when a woman named Edna apologized for Lucy's behavior and told us she would help us. Lucy kept trying to push boss but Edna helped us. I love this Macy's! It has everything you need period! They also have a backstage!!!!!! We have gotten all kinds if things from here over the years. Now we get whatever outfits for the kids that we don't get at Carter's lol! We actually got one of my daughters Christmas Outfits here! A beautiful dress! They have 3 floors here. Kids are upstairs! Elevators are to the far right. Escalators are in the middle. I love all the sales that Macy's runs throughout the year, so many amazing discounts! We just got 2 new earrings for my daughter here as well, 60% off!!!!!! You really cannot beat those prices. Store can get messy throughout the day, and things might not be in the exact spot that you are looking for, but the staff does an amazing job to try to keep it neat and organized after customers blow through lol! Most of the items I found here had a decent selection of a lot of variety plus different styles that appealed to my eyes. Take advantage of the selections they have. For the majority of our experience, I was happy to see the store pretty full-staffed, especially this time of year. Initially I came here for shoes for an event. Did not find the shoes that matched perfectly for the event, however I stopped by the Estée Lauder counter and lo and behold the most awesome of all sales reps, Angela! She is exemplary! Was not quite in the market for anything, however strolling around the perfume department triggered a memory of a scent which name escaped me... While I described the abstract bottle shape from "back in the day"... which subsequently described pretty much every bottle, Angela was patient enough to help me to identify said the throwback fragrance which ultimately wasn't a throwback at all! The bottle shape had changed and it's still in heavy demand! But I digress: She travelled down that abstract memory lane, until finally she got it, found it, and rekindled my love affair with that scent! And then we bought a bunch of makeup too! Watch your gift cards!!!! Cashier up in the backstage area. Blatantly took my gift card that had a balance on it and threw it in the garbage after the transaction. I asked her what are you doing? Give me back my card and then she said wait. what when is yours and she reached in and grabbed about 10 gift cards or with written balances on it how can they all be used? She had no idea, but when I even use this woman is stealing your gift cards! Tall, long hair wet lanyards on her neck! I hope I spoke to the right person yesterday to fix this problem but it was unbelievable make sure you get your gift cards back people!!! read more

I purchased 2 items online, one worked out and the other had to be returned. I went to Macy's Paramus Park to do so. My original payment was credit card and $6 left over on a gift card. Both items cost $90. The cashier is processing the return and tells me $50 will go back on my card and $6 will be given back to me as a gift card. I asked her to please just apply the $6 gift card to the item I was keeping. She told me "it doesn't work like that". Why not? I never heard of such a thing......just apply it to the item I kept. But no, that was not allowed. I usually misplace those stupid gift cards and just wanted to use it up. I was shocked this is how the return went. I went to the make up counter, bought mascara and used that gift card up. I won't be back to any Macy's. I feel this was just a desperate and cheap move on their part. If I used a gift card towards a purchase where I returned the whole purchase, then yes, the $6 would come back to me as a gift card - that would make sense. But to penalize me because of the 2 items I originally bought, 1 had to be returned (tags attached, returned within the time limit)......and I kept the other - for Pete's sake just apply the measly $6 gift card to the item I kept! Yes, it's always the little things that get under your skin, and this is one of them. I think Macy's is having serious financial problems and I hope my $6 helps them. I'll shop Nordstroms next time. If there was a -1 star to give, I would use that! Macy's has become the worst place to shop! First of all I ordered some Karl Lagerfeld shoes online about a week ago for the Easter holiday and when the shoes, or should I say package, arrived, it was a pair of Kate Spade shoes in a Karl Lagerfeld box!!!! And that's not the worst part...they were the incorrect size and...had been worn with felt cushions inside of the shoes trying to hide the fact that they had been worn!!!! Totally unbelievable! I was totally shocked and pissed at the same time. To make matters worse, I returned the shoes at my local store and the clerk there got extremely rude with me when I asked for the store that fulfilled my order!! I'm like where am I right now? In the Twilight Zone?!?!! I proceeded to call customer service and they told me Paramus Park fulfilled the order. When I attempted to call Paramus Park to alert the manager to this mishap, NO ONE and I mean NO ONE even bothered to answer the phone and I sat on hold for over an hour! (65mins.) They don't carry many premium brands but there are many quality items that can be found in their stores. Since I can't leave a review of MAC in Paramus Park mall, aide it's not listed, I'll tell you that the line was very long for the Selena make up line released on the 6th I was there at 10 long lines. I went to Nordstrom as they were selling out I was able to get an eyeliner, 3 lipsticks and the compact. To me, MAC is Garbage. I never wear it. I find it to be low class and cheap. I wear Chanel, YsL, Armani and Dior. More high end. Turns out after purchasing these products at Nordstrom, I asked basic questions of the undertone of the Red lipstick Como La Flor and I asked if it was a blue base or yellow bass the girl said I don't know I think it is blue based I told her that the blue based red lipstick will make your teeth appear yellow She looked at me strange and I had to explain to her that I was in fact a make up artist in the past Very surprised that the Nordstrom sells girls were there an educated about a new product where it would be sold out so quickly Anyway yesterday my husband returned home with a nice surprise for me Behind my back he had pre-ordered the entire line of Selena. Like I said I'm not really into their products I think they are horrendous and cheap But I liked the brush. In the red lipstick. It looked a little off to me in my opinion The eyeliner is very wet and hard to not drip The mascara is cheaply made This is very low quality make up that they say will only be sold for one month I sincerely doubt it I'm giving them away as gifts But my husband did tell me that they did have everything that he had pre-ordered as a surprise for me. Not a very good Macy's.. I've been to better ones. Went for their typical One Day Sales.. Very messy and disorganized... Clothes everywhere. Long lines. The shoe department sucks. The variety is very slim and there are mountains of shoes all over the floor. Since I was browsing the shoes, I wanted to purchase the one shirt I had w/me at the shoe dept since there was no line. I literally waited there for 15-20 mins.. next one on line.. while ONE lady was trying to use every AMEX gift card, gift gard, coupon, etc she could on her shoe purchase.. this is typical.. but what's not is that all three people behind the counter were trying to help her... so I was just waiting..and waiting .....and waiting... one of the girls was just fiddling w/a cash register... and paid no mind to me even though she kept looking at me. finally another person came over, only to ask the person fiddling w/the register if she wanted a coffee cause she was going to the food court and kept insisting shed get her a coffee on n on ........ im still waiting...... finally she decides to acknowledge me and asked me if i had just one garment, cause if i didn't i'd have to go back down to the women's dept to pay for it.......... u tell me this now?? thank goodness I had only one garment blah.. when did shopping become hectic and such a chore.. it used to be fun :( read more

I needed a new mattress and adjustable bed. I didn't think of Macy's first and went to Mattress Firm. It was like visiting a used car lot for mattresses. Felt like I was getting taken. I visited Macy's and the salespeople were all highly professional, no sales pressure and very helpful. I found the right mattress and adjustable bed at 75% of the cost of Mattress Firm and much better quality. Macy's delivered my bed at 8:30 am as promised, installed it, no damage and they removed all the packaging with them. 100% quality. read more

I walked around the second floor for about 20 minutes trying to find an open register. Recently on Dec 9, 2020 I had emergency dual surgery. When I was released from the hospital I realized that I still needed a gift. This person loves mens cologne and parfum so I hunted out one by Yves St. Laurent know ing that is one he didn't have and wanted to give a try. So on that note I hunted the larger upscale stores. Actually my God friend sells fragrances at one of.the stores and unfortunately she doesn't carry that one. She did tell me Macy's. So lucky me called Macy's in Paramus Park and spoke with 2 lovely caring great employees. Anna and Missing on 12/16/20 they went out if there way. The order was being billed to me sent to California. They made sure the order was in, confirmed gave me confirmation #. Then they even followed up and called at night when the order was shipped. These employees should be recogniy really for going above and beyond. Yes they took the order but they didn't really have to follow up. I will call corporate Macy's and let them know about these two ladies. It's 1 in a million that they will see this but Macy's you hire great people. Because of this I will spread the word and I will use your store as one of my favorites. Actually I can't wait till I'm better and Covid is being us and like to meet these ladies. I was presented with a bill, handed the young lady my debit card and we were sucked into a Dostoyevsky novel... We were in the year 1864. My debit card was not being accepted by Macy's system and the salesperson dialed my bank, huh? I get an automated menu... Bla, bla, bla, hangup. I went to the makeup section for the brand dermablend and this lazy worker used her finger and poured make up on it and was about to put make up on my skin with her finger. Talk about unprofessional. She acted as if I was bother asking for help and putting makeup on with her finger is so unsanitary!! Please go to sephora next door. They are so much more friendlier and professional! We purchased a mattress ($4k) and a couch ($2500) - Macy's products are AWFUL and their customer service is even worse (how that is even possible is beyond me). Half of the sectional had to be replaced as the entire wood frame CRACKED - the replacement piece is barley better - the frame became unattached and the zipper holding the pillows broke. their repairman (who was rude, unfriendly and seemed annoyed to be there) did a crappy fix and Macy's will not do anything more which is unacceptable - STAMD BEHIND THE PRODUCTS YOU SELL! NOW FOR THE MATTRESS, we paid about $4k for a nice mattress and after less than 1 1/2 years it is sloping on BOTH sides - which is RIDICULOUS - a new $4k mattress should not slope at all and Macys said the slope needs to be 1 1/2 inches before they can do anything, but it has a pillow top, which does not show the full slope - it is over an inch now WITHT THE PILLOW top. SO - buy underwear there or their sale clothing or some perfume/cologne - BUT DO NOT BUY FURNITURE OR METTRESS THERE! their salespeople are like used car sales people, the delivery guys are great, but their customer service is arguably the worst and the people they send to look at the damaged furniture really suck. Many places to buy furniture and mattresses - do not waste your time or money here. I am so bothered and angry i took the time to write the damn review. Macy's you should be better, unless you are just a shitty discount place who does not care about customers or customer loyalty (have had a Macy's card since i was 17.....will only used it for boxers and undershirts going forward!). read more

I recently bought two sets of tuxedos for my two teenagers at Macys, and Dy, the fellow helping us was very professional and patient. I had my boys try at least 3 different sets of tux to see which brand is the best fit. It took us almost 4 hours to decide and find exactly what we were looking for and Dy was always smiling and very helpful. They also do alterations so it was a one stop shop. Very convenient. In short, my boys and I left Macys suits and tuxedos department very pleased and satisfied with our purchase and the excellent service. I am very pleased! read more

Nearest location to my new home. First time I went into this location, unfortunately I had a return of shoes and 2 clothing items top and leggings. First rep at a register I asked where to make my return said I need to do it in shoes and they'll also return the other 2 items. Went to shoes and told them what I was told and lady had a fit. She told me I need to go back downstairs to return the other 2. And she went on and on about it scolding me UNTIL I piped up telling her that I'm the customer and no way in hell I'm running up and down and around this store after the first rep passed the buck. My daughter and I purchased several items in the bedding department for my son in his new apartment. We were assisted by tony who was wonderful in showing us where merchandise was located, looking for requested items in the stockroom and calling management to apply the impending sale to our items two days early. Despite it being uncomfortably hot in the store he worked so hard putting together all of our purchases so they were easy to carry and applied all of the extra savings that were available to us. The merchandise was exactly what we were looking for and the price was very reasonable. Our overall shopping experience was phenomenal due to the excellent and professional service in addition to great products at an affordable cost. read more

Men's clothing department manager John was the rudest employee I have ever experienced at Macy's. I was returning a gift and his co worker made a mistake by putting the money back on the person's card who bought the original gift and COULD NOT VOID IT. Obviously, this is a situation where the customer is in fact correct and the manager will step in to give some sort of apologetic gift card, or even just an apology. However, he stepped in and unprofessionally said 'This is not my problem'... Which is the exact opposite of what a Men's clothing department store manager in the retail industry is supposed to do. If you want customers to come back, maybe you should deal with problems that ARE IN FACT YOUR PROBLEM. Note to Macy's, this is NOT someone who should be working in a management position at all. Also, nothing was done about the credit, so looks like I won't be going back to this department in Macy's Paramus Park and would NOT recommend others to do so. read more
