There isn't much I can say about Macy's that most of you don't already know. Once you walk in you immediately experience thousands of perfume smells all at once. WOW. I honestly would never set foot in here if it wasn't for my wife. I'm a t shirt and jeans kinda guy and no - not shirts with dragons all over. How some guys can shop here is beyond me. I believe we have hit a point where mens jeans are just as tight as womens. Here is a good rule of thumb for those of you who are in denial. If you and your special lady have to change in the dark and it's hard to tell who's is what. Then you should prob think about maybe going back to those 501's. Very good selection of plus-sized clothes for us curvy gals; however, the place was WRECKED. There must not be enough staffing to keep both the cash registers manned, and the floor and dressing rooms clean. It wasn't Black Friday, it wasn't $5 everything; it was just a decent sale. Two stars for always carrying sizes XS and Small in the latest styles. The clearance rack for juniors is great. Depending on the day you come in, it can get messy but if you have time to sift through the scuffle, you will find great things. Today I needed to return a baby boy's outfit because my friend had a girl. I waited in line to return the items but the cashier was helping a customer who was having account issues so she had to get on the phone. I walked to the men's dept because my bf and I are going to a wedding that required grey attire. So I made use of my time running errands and I walked out of line to browse. Upon returning from the men's dept back to the children's dept, lost prevention walked straight in the same aisle with eyes on me with obvious concerns of something. Then once we walked passed each other he stared right at my return bag. Thanks for making a loyal Macy's shopper feel uncomfortable idiot. My fiance has been relocated to Hawaii for work. Was looking for luggage big enough to fit his desktop computer. I wish I had gotten her name, but the employee that helped us was really helpful. She didn't try to talk us into spending money on something that might not work for him. She gave us some good advice on what would be a better opinion for getting his computer on the airplane. I had so much fun hanging out at the Benefit counter! I was in search of the They're Real mascara and they were completely sold out! They let me try the mascara though and it is amazing - just FYI. This Macy's has all the essentials. But not very much for younger generations. The shoes department is small comparing to the other ones I've been to. The whole mall is small so I understand the lack of space. Sea like they want to cater toward idle age housewives. read more

This is a good place to get ignored! The times I have gone in no one offers me any help so I end up chasing after employees shooting the bull with each other who have no time to do their job. Last night was the last night I will ever step foot in that store. I went in to buy matching pants for my suit jacket and had an employee standing talking to two other employees that none of them acknowledged me. So I said excuse me can someone help me. So they chose to pretend they didn't hear me and walk away talking to each other. Since they have no time for customers I choose to have no time for them. I will try another place who has suits. I am sure when you are the lowest of the low customer service there is no where to go but up. read more

Ive gone a few times into the Impulse beauty department and I'm always left with a sour taste in my mouth. The manager is SOOOO rude! As is expected, when the manager is rude the employees will be no different. From my observation, they seem to treat clients they know and have a friendship with very well. I was making a return on something I ordered online after a friend gifted the same item to me. Point is, the item purchased was never even opened. I'm standing at the register and waited for more than 5 minutes for someone to come and assist. When the lady finally comes, no "Hello", no smile...just "What can I do for you?" To top it off, other employees were talking to her about another employee aka drama behind the impulse beauty scenes while she's supposed to be helping me. I was livid!!! Another instance is last week I called Macy's trying to get a hold of the MAC Cosmetics counter but for some odd reason their line was down. The operator ended up connecting me to Impulse beauty. The young lady who answered could've been better but she wasn't rude. Just snobby. I told her that I was trying to get a hold of MAC and as I was speaking she interrupted me saying, "yeah their line is down. What can I help you with?" I told her I was looking for a lipstick and she placed me on the longest hold ever. When, who I thought was her came back on, who was it? The same manager from my previous experience. I could tell by her tone, voice and above all the rudeness. She told me "Yeah Rouge En Snow is available". I thanked her and what was the reply? "Yep"! WTH???!!! No matter what your job is there's work ethics. Unfortunately this Macy's falls short on it. I'm never shopping here again. I'd either go online or go to a different Macy's where I know I'll be treated with respect. read more

Horrible service at the Clinique counter. They are very snotty and unwilling to help you. When you say something they are rude to you. I will drive 4o miles to get what I need at another Macy's. I have spent too much money at this Macy's to be treated this way. Macy's is the worse department store I have ever been to, in the span of one week I tried the Palmdale store twice and the Santa Clarita store once. I practically had to beg them to help me. When I asked for a dressing room with $700 of merchandise in my hands you would think that they would be happy to help, nope the cashier acted like it was an inconvenience. The service at Macy's is not department store worthy, it's more like shopping at Ross but way more expensive. In addition, the stores are overflowing with merchandise and disorganized. The lines were outrageously long, only three registers open with one clerk per register. When we asked to speak to a manager, they said they couldn't call them so I had to go and find them by foot. When I asked another sales clerk where the manager was by name they tried to tell me that no manager was on the floor, when I told them a separate clerk had said there was they suddenly had a number to call the manager...Very poor service, messy, unorganized. Let me start off by saying that I will never shop in this department store ever again! As a Macy's credit card holder I am appalled by the service I received on June 8th! by the department store manager of Impulse JESSICA! She was the most disrespectful person I have ever met! I went into the store as usual looking to buy a new foundation and to get a benefit hoola bronzer since they were 50% off , when I had walked into the store I was not greeted at all by anyone to start off , so helping myself I was trying to figure out which shade I should get for my friend in the smashbox liquid foundation, after a little while of being unsure I asked for help from Jessica . I simply asked why they were in the 1.1/1.2 format so on and so forth was it because of undertone ? She said no they're just like that... So then I said well I guess I'll take 2 samples . I gave her the shades I wanted samples of and she rudely took the foundations and made me samples, she handed them to me. Literally in a clear tiny jar , and I KINDLY asked ummm, how do I know which is which since they don't have labels and she very sarcastically said "OH, So your planning on coming back and buying one ?" I was Incomplete shock because at this point I'm clearly being discriminated on!! I said as a matter of fact where is your manager And she said I AM THE MANAGER! . I then spoke to a store manager called SAM . She took down my number and said she would call me after she spoke to her "manager" about the matter I'm still waiting for a call! Now I am extremely upset , I went to spend my money elsewhere that day! I will Take this case to drastic measures because I too work in retail and to see a manager acting that way, makes me wonder what is a MANAGER for ??? What kind of employees does Macy's hire??? I want to make sure I am heard especially after spending so much in a store I never knew had disgusting service like this ! read more

They need to do like Makeda advised below and just make a MAC store in the mall because the one's that are apart of Macy's always have really horrible sales associates. I don't understand how these cold individuals even get the job. They act like they get paid to act as bitchy and uppity as possible...really tired of going in and being ignored or treated as less of a person. MAC needs to keep about 5% of their employees and fire/replace the rest cuz it's out of hand. Not bad, but my expectations were incredibly low. I walked in to find a clean and organized store. The staff I dealt with was both helpful and friendly. The restrooms were clean and they had a nice lounge area. For Palmdale, this is more than I expected. They don't have the selection that you would find in a Macy's in the LA area, but they have enough to keep you busy for a couple hours. (We were killing time before 3pm happy hour at YARDHOUSE.) I was able to find good deals on shoes and clothing and the Macys employee gave me a 20 percent coupon. Whenever in the AV I will make sure to stop and shop. read more

I went into the shoe department and specifically asked for a leather sole shoe. I explained that I had found that leather soles worked really good for dancing, as they slide on the floor and don't stick. A couple weeks after the purchase, the smooth paint stuff on the bottom of the shoes wore off and the shoes began to stick. After further investigation, I found that the soles were a type of fake leather and were actually rubber. I took them back but could not return them as they had been worn. read more

Thomas from benefit is the best eyebrow waxed out there! I was worried at first going to get my eye brows done I had never had them waxed before but the benefit counter was the best experience! I have never had a more friendly worker and this great of eyebrows, I will 100% be going back and to see Thomas from now on! read more

At the MAC Counter at Macy's in Palmdale and as always when I am forced to shop at this store's makeup counters I am sorely disappointed !!! Where do they get these "makeup artists??" I guess the gal working the counter gets a bigger bonus on setting up callers for some kind of a class rather than waiting on actual paying customers cuz she let my daughter and me stand by listening to her for more than 10 minutes while she booked someone for an upcoming event - hope that pays off... I have NEVER liked this store's makeup counters and am particularly irritated as I am FURIOUS about the company stance on Donald Trump and their complete disregard for FREE SPEECH - go ahead and trample on the Bill of Rights, Macy's - that's YOUR right - just as I will NOT be shopping here again - and I warned my daughter she needs to purchase her MAC in Valencia at their storefront site or she will have to do without. It's not as if the Macy's in Palmdale is all that - it's my understanding from employees this Macy's is the receiving store for all the leftover crap and returns and that's what is often found amongst the racks and end caps. I agree with all the other reviews. Thank goodness for YELP! I thought I was the only one who thought this store was ....ughhhh....!!! The selection is fairly awful and the buyer doesn't know how to buy pieces that coordinate, look good and professional at all! I have to spend hours just TRYING to find something halfway decent! And what's up with not having WHITE clothing? Not to mention all the items are like 3 years old! At least when I go to Macy's down below, I know I'm getting/seeing the latest styles, not this crap. When I heard we were finally getting a Macy's I was thrilled, considering the Antelope Valley Mall doesn't offer much. Then I actually visited our "version" of Macy's which is scaled down version of other Macy's. Their inventory is really lacking, do they just assume everyone living out here is too broke to shop at Macy's? I was really disappointed. I'll shop there for make-up and possibly clothes for my infant daughter but other than that I'll go else where. read more

I love MACYS, just not this MACYS. If your a true Macys shopper, youll notice this Macys has poor quailty of a lot of stuff. With thus being said its still one of the better stores in the AV, and that carrys good brands! I say its so/so but hopefully it will improve. read more

I walked in to browse for a gift for my girl friend. I work in construction and had my work clothes on. The staff in the watch department paid no attention to me and showed little concern for my inquires on gift ideas. I feel I was judged and discriminated against due to my appearance in my work attire. So I walked away politely and will not be purchasing my gift at this store now or any time in the future. read more

Every Macy's that I've ever shopped at was either 2 to 3 stories or one whole building was women, women's shoes, kids, makeup and perfume while a whole completely other building was men, furniture, outdoors, house things and all the unimportant things to most women. This Macy's is one story..... I think they just tried to skim the bare minimum of a regular Macy's and put it into this one. The people that work there have always been nice and friendly, the shoe section is a little messy, all the makeup girls are super nice. Oh yes the floors are always shiny. read more

I am a very unhappy customer. I have purchased my Mac makeup here in Macys for years. I was told by a new makeup counter girl that the colors I was using wasn't right so I allowed her to color match me but the lighting wasn't right in the store. I ended up buying makeup that makes my face too orange and too dark. I am so upset!! read more

This review is for the MAC counter inside Macy's.. I had the worst experience ever here. The artists are all rude and condescending.. They made me feel beneath them. I asked simple questions and was talked to and treated like I was stupid. Like the previous reviewer said I'm not sure where they get these "makeup artists!" They are not professional.. It was more like a high school gossip chain. The woman who helped me "Danielle" was extremely rude and full of herself. She acted like she was the hottest thing since sliced bread. I caught her laughing once or twice behind my back to other people there. My english is not that good, and I feel discriminated against. She needs to go.. Do something management!
