While they have a large selection of clothing, frequent new inventory, and a staff that has generally been friendly, the overall experience has been disappointing. The biggest issue is the lack of quality control. On my most recent visit, I purchased two shirts and a pair of shorts. One of the shirts had a terrible odor that didnt bother me at first but I noticed it a lot more when I got home. Even after washing it, the smell wouldn't come out. In fact, it became even stronger in the heat - it smelled like a mix of cigarette smoke and mildew. It's so bad it's unwearable. Really wanted to like it too. The shorts were another disappointment. They were sold to me with the security tag still attached. Since I needed them for the weekend, I tried removing the magnetic tag myself rather than making another trip to the store. Unfortunately, the tag broke and ended up damaging the shorts, leaving them unwearable. To make matters worse, the cashier also didn't honor the advertised 30% discount on shorts. I didn't notice until after the transaction, which only added to my frustration. The only reason I'm not giving this store one star is because I did find one shirt that I genuinely liked. Every once in a while, you can come across a good find, and the prices aren't outrageous. However, between the inconsistent quality, items being sold in poor condition, forgotten security tags, and advertised discounts not being honored, I can't recommend shopping here. There are better thrift stores that offer more reliable quality and a better overall experience.

I came in during non-peak hours looking for hair bleach and dye and when I asked for the plexiglass to be open, Rosie (who is apparently the manager), told me someone would help me shortly (instead of walking over and helping me). I asked if she could unlock the case, and instead she looked at me with a blank face and said "sir, someone will be with you shortly." Mind you, she didn't direct anyone to come over and help me, and I saw no one else in the store other than a few customers. I asked her when another associate would come and she told me "sir, please be patient." She also wasn't doing anything other than standing behind the register (I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt that she was balancing a register or something, but she wasn't. She was literally just standing there and she checked her phone twice while I waited). Finally, when an associate came out, I asked the associate's name what the woman's name at the front was to which Rosie, from behind the counter, yelled "do not give him my name! You want my name for what?" I was SHOCKED, to say the least. Luckily, the associate said her name was Rosie before Rosie cut her off (or Rose, some variation). I decided not to purchase the products I was looking for solely because of this experience and said have a good day. I cannot believe the utter disrespect and negligence I encountered while simply looking for bleach and hair dye. I made a simple request to have the plexiglass opened and was ignored and then treated poorly for asking for the manager's name after she refused to help me three times. Will not be returning and will be telling my friends and family not to shop at Genesis Beauty.
