I really wanted to like this store. I gave it several chances and visited multiple times before writing this review. While they have a large selection of clothing, frequent new inventory, and a staff that has generally been friendly, the overall experience has been disappointing. The biggest issue is the lack of quality control. On my most recent visit, I purchased two shirts and a pair of shorts. One of the shirts had a terrible odor that didnt bother me at first but I noticed it a lot more when I got home. Even after washing it, the smell wouldn't come out. In fact, it became even stronger in the heat - it smelled like a mix of cigarette smoke and mildew. It's so bad it's unwearable. Really wanted to like it too. The shorts were another disappointment. They were sold to me with the security tag still attached. Since I needed them for the weekend, I tried removing the magnetic tag myself rather than making another trip to the store. Unfortunately, the tag broke and ended up damaging the shorts, leaving them unwearable. To make matters worse, the cashier also didn't honor the advertised 30% discount on shorts. I didn't notice until after the transaction, which only added to my frustration. The only reason I'm not giving this store one star is because I did find one shirt that I genuinely liked. Every once in a while, you can come across a good find, and the prices aren't outrageous. However, between the inconsistent quality, items being sold in poor condition, forgotten security tags, and advertised discounts not being honored, I can't recommend shopping here. There are better thrift stores that offer more reliable quality and a better overall experience. read more

I brought in several articles of clothing for resale. They were highbrow alternative and vintage items. Some of the stuff included hardly worn plus size steel-boned corsets, TUK Creepers, and a vintage coat. It was two younger women working whom clearly didn't bother even googling my items. They also told me to "come back closer to Halloween" even though those items are quality "everyday" wear for alternative people. If you're going to be accepting resale, it's probably a good idea to educate your buyers about the various styles and brands that exist outside of their own recognition. I've always recommended Uptown Cheapskate to others for buying and selling. Now, I feel alienated as a customer, plus sized woman, and alternative person. read more

Ok this is a really nice second store. It's all name brands for the low low. If you have the patients to Fidel through all of the items you can find a good bargain. They have a lot of great purses for ladies who are into purses. I know people who shop here and always recommend this place so I thought I'd stroll through there while I was waiting for my food and I did see a lot of brands that I would normally select. Went in today with two large totes and went home with almost all of what I brought in and a $19 dollar store credit for the 5 items they bought. I'm reading some of these reviews that are low and I just have to say that this is pretty unfair. If you're not happy with the offer they make just go elsewhere or sell the item online. These guys are running a business let's be kind and understand that they don't need or want everything we have to offer. I left today with my two containers that I will be donating to the red, white and blue thrift shop on 50th. Zero hurt feelings. My SO and I frequented Marshall's and this store was never in our radar. Until recently when we went to T-Mobile and this store caught our attention. Out of curiosity, we went it and we were very surprised that this store existed. I talked to a nice lady who said this store has been there for 3 years now. Wow!!! I could have been selling or traded some of my branded items. Now that I have learned about this place, I will surely come back. They have a pretty good selection of clothes, shoes, and purses. Love this store! I'm enjoying taking items a couple times a month to sell! For me it's a great way to downsize the massive amount of clothes I have. Getting cash is so helpful! Or store credit! Whatever works for you! I've been selling misc cool stuff for decades, and time to let go of the stuff I have that didn't sell that I can't use. The owners are so knowledgeable, cool, and just sweet! They certainly live up to their name, they act "Uptown" like while being "Cheapskates" on what they pay (if they even buy your clothes) When this place first opened, I loved it! It was a good way to get rid of unwanted clothes, which would then be purchased and used by someone else, thus discontinuing fashion waste. But...it seems like their mission has changed. Helping the environment? Yeah right! Only if the clothes that you attempt to sell are in fashion this week. I'm very disappointed and will never again sell or buy anything from this hoity-toity store. So unless you're a fashionista that partakes in fast fashion and have clothes that are in fashion that week that you sell them, I don't recommend buying or selling anything here. read more

I actually found this place via Yelp as I was looking somewhere new and near by to sell my clothes. It's not really near by where I live but headed this was was last traffic then going to the valley. I actually called before hand to see how long the wait was and how the process worked and the lady I talked to was super helpful and descriptive, I forgot her name but she actually helped with my buy when I came in. You sign in on an iPad with your phone number and if you're new like me you just make an account and then they check you in. If you stay in the store while waiting for your buy they'll get to it quicker rather than dropping it off and coming back. I brought a tote bag of items and they took a decent amount of them. It wasn't much for what I got but I feel like if you bring in more designer pieces you'll get more for your buck. Also if you decided to take trade (store credit) they offer that as well instead of cash. They had racks and racks of clothing both men and women but mainly woman. Prices are good, even on the designer and higher end items. They have items for all styles so you'll be sure to find something you like. I didn't end up leaving with anything this visit but I'm sure it'll happen the next time I come in to sell. read more

Your rebuttal to my review is just that a rebuttal to save face in front of your customers. I get it , however making false statements that I apologize and for what reason that your establishment was in fact unprofessional? The conduct that you're approving says a lot about how this business is conducted. Please review your employees and as a group you as well take a course in customer service and I'm sure you just may be successful in the near future. Shame On You and how you made false statements about my wife . You are no longer allowed to do business with our friends and family and you shall be blocked from all on facebook and Instagram. This establishment buys used and unused clothing. However be advised that when you're selling your items after clearing your closet this establishment is extremely selective as to what they feel is reasonable regardless if your items have tags. Dealing with the store employees especially when the employee makes you aware that her mother is the owner, depicting how entitled she is which is so unprofessional. This makes one feel that they're belittling you as unimportant and that you need them more than they need you. I tried to overlook this fact but only to confirm my viewpoint when being offered $49 dollars for 16 items that are above fair condition. I requested if their offer could be rounded up by one dollar and they said offers are final (regardless if appraisals are off). I almost took their offer except for the refusal of giving 4 quarters more to make it an even 50 dollars. This showed me that customer are not their priority. This review is not meant for the employees and is only meant for the store owner to adjust the stores core mission statement. Do you enjoy being insulted while shopping for clothes? Then this place is for you! From the moment I walked in, it was clear the staff had mistaken the store for their personal hangout. i was never welcomed in literally backs were turned towards me no one said hello or offered to help me. I was met with eye rolls and sighs when I dared to ask a question. The clothes were okay, but honestly, the terrible service overshadowed everything. I simply walked into this establishment, I've been here a couple of times to show my support for this community clothing center but this time was different. I got a pair of shoes as a gift but they were not in my size, they were way too big. After trying them on , I never wore them again. I decided to finally give them up and possibly receive some Spare money , so I came to uptown cheapskate. The name says it all , I talked to the lady upfront , they had me log into a tablet then told me to wait for a couple of minutes. The woman returned and called me to the front, saying they had an offer for me. I want you to imagine in your mind a decent pair of barely worn shoes , that still had that brand new shoe smell , you're probably thinking I would get somewhere around twenty to thirty dollars because the brand is Nike. I don't recommend selling your clothes to this company! They are scammers, I took my brand new clothes, still with tags from forever 21, Nike, and was only paid $3 per item. The clothes aren't even sold for cheap, I can find newer and cheaper clothes at Ross! read more
