Ok lets start with honesty ,This store is great as the staff is kind and the products are great if you come in looking to sell do not be shocked at the offers remember they too sell them for a lower price than retail so do not expect to even come close on all items as some just do not sell or are not current there are many reasons , but there are times where you bring in great items and they pay up it alldepends I brought in some Miss me jeans and got almost $200 dollars it all depends on what is selling and other conditions remeber they to have to make money to pay for the great staff and over head ,I would say if you have things you were going to donate anyways bring them here get a few dollars if you are looking to sell to make a huge profit its not happening here but this store is truly filled with the best buys ......Come and see the great values and than understand some of the bad comments I too came in wit purses I do not like the offer but no harm no fowl , I will continue shopping here enjoying the great values I get every time I purchase anything and also when they have sales you get to feel like you just stole from them their prices are beyond amazing I just bought tons of things for Mom they did not fir but my nieces now think I am the most amazing uncle ever .....LOL .....Please do not say mean things just because you set up expectations that could not be meant its not personal its just how business works. read more

I was out looking for a few cute winter tops, now that the summer is fading away. I've been looking online at pop culture sweatshirts and accessories, but I'm always hesitant to buy without being familiar with the brand. I went into Uptown C hoping to find a little something to add. I was so impressed with how organized the store is! The presentation is orderly and so very clean. I walked out with 6 new trendy sweatshirts, a new vest, wallet, and slip on Van's shoes for right around 150 bucks total. Good selection, and great quality products. Very pleasant service as well. i liked shopping for clothes at uptown, but i don't recommend selling clothes here. they lowball you soo bad. they tried paying me $19 for 4 items that were all in almost mint condition being a $60 pair of vans, a $50 vintage sinful top , a pair of short i paid around $20 for, and a pair of jeans i paid almost $40 for?? $19 for about $170 worth of items... obviously i know they need to make profit but $19?? and then when i was a little confused about why the offer was so low, the worker i was speaking to spoke rudely to me and dismissed my question and just said "so you don't want the money?" with a rude tone. they also labeled the bag i came in with, with another persons name. idk maybe the workers are what made my experience bad and it's not necessarily the whole store that gave me a bad experience, but this was my experience at uptown. read more

They took my $75 platform high top converse and 3 pairs of my Levi jeans IN GOOD CONDITION and in total I got $20 in my share because my sister also sold clothes and they took a lot of her clothes and only gave her ONLY $24 like??? And she gave them clothes in good condition, a WHOLE TOTE BAD FILLED TO THE RIM and I don't think I can get them back. Also they were rude and giving rude stares. read more

I believe this is the 4th or the 5th time I've sold to this location. I have gotten more $$ and have sold more items here as compared to other resale establishments. (But maybe that's because this is the AV). I am leaving a poor review because each and every time I come here, the staff and owner are RUDE and tend to act as though the store is a Bloomies or Neimans ‍. There's just no reason to speak so condescendingly and leave out common niceties, such as,"Hi! How are you?," or "Thanks for coming in." I was lectured for bringing in freshly-laundered and impeccably folded items (many still with tags) in plastic bags. I'm sorry- what's the alternative? They said "boxes," or "recycled bags." I took some items including Coach bags that were CLEAN and good shape. I am older but I buy quality. I was looking at their items and the shoes were worn and dirty! They were reselling them for $50! I was told no on my Coach purses because they don't have style! They are clean not over 5 years old and used gently! They had similar ones for sell for $89! They laughed when the girl told me they have no style! Also, hoodies and jeans were very expensive! My 18 year old won't shop there neither will her friends! I will not recommend them. We live in a lower income demographic area and I hope they do not make it here! They can sell dirty and overused clothing to those that want to waste money! My husband said the guy behind the counter said maybe we would donate the purses.. why? So they could could make a 50 to 80 profit! Ouch I am a huge environmental advocate! This place is honestly a joke. They're all stuck up & have some of the stupidest most inconvenient rules. They practically give you nothing for your beautiful brand named items, some super rare vintage things & then they want to keep the rest of your stuff without paying but to donate so they can make more money off of your used items. Some of the girls & guys attitudes are absolutely atrocious. They all act like they're curing cancer. Relax. How you treat paying & donating customers is the only thing that matters, without us you wouldn't have a store. This is going off several trips to this store. Such a nice, clean, and bright place to thrift! I love every Uptown Cheapskate I visit and this one is no exception. There were so many racks to look through and a fairly large men's section. My only disappointment was the prices were pretty high, higher than I'm used to from these stores. Other than that, I had a great time. Definitely don't skip this place! read more

Would give this store a 4 or 5 star rating if the owner takes a look at your items and makes the offer; otherwise, if it either of the "gentlemen" working there go through your items you are selling, I give if 2 stars. Bro with the big holes in his ears has zero sense of fashion. He didn't even look at my designer jewelry or notice what he passed up. He also passed on brand new Steve Madden rhinestone tennis shoes I just got this year LOL!! Then I saw him offer money to people before me that brought in wrinkled up old dirty looking clothing that he pulled out of a nasty trash bag. All of my items had been freshly laundered and several still had the tags on them. I brought in brands like Candies, Express, Maurice's, Steve Madden, Modcloth, American Eagle and some unique brands that you can't find just anywhere. Again, the dude has 0/10 fashion sense. He shouldn't be working the counter. The funny thing is that the owner took a look at some of my items that I brought in on a previous visit just a week ago, and she said I had unique things and offered me over $100 for some of my items. She advised I come back and seemed to appreciate my style. I was elated and made up my mind I was gong to come back to sell to her! The owner is awesome and she definitely has a sense of fashion; but again, she needs to hire new people or train them better on what to pick because the men working there pass on high quality items!! The other worker looked like he just rolled out of bed and had zero personality; no enthusiasm and again, zero sense of fashion; he bought some old sunglasses from me (lmao), but passed on new shoes and clothes with tags!! uptown cheapskate more like scam town cheapskate!!! i've sold there 3 times already and this last time was it for me. I feel like there's no real method on how they choose which clothes to buy. I bought in brands that they would have like cider, shein, wild fable etc and they only picked whatever they felt was cute that day. Even though on their racks they had a badly cut up true religion shirt, pants that have holes on the crotch area and a shirt with sweat stains. you get underpaid for the clothes you're trying to sell. would not recommend this store to anyone! read more

While i was waiting for them to go through my clothes this girl with red hair and a floral shirt was very vocal about what clothing was ugly or disgusting. There were a few clothes that i guess we're self cut and she thought that was so weird. she should really keep her words to herself because the people who are waiting are also walking around the store. Definitely not shopping here again. The prices are high i can get the same things at goodwill for cheaper. The worst thing though was the atmosphere. The employees all seem on edge like they're just waiting to get the hell out of that place. At first I just thought well sure no one really wants to be at work on a Saturday. But then the lady who I'm assuming is the manager started yelling at the security guard im not sure why but she was really letting him have it. I felt so bad for the guy. First time here and loved the store. Almost the entire staff was nice asking if my family and I needed help and showing things around. The cashier working, on receipt it says Jaiden, was really rude. Never been to a store where they rush you to approach them to pay when you're clearly looking at things in FRONT of the cashier. Keep in mind there wasn't anyone behind us waiting in line either. Be advised they are very picky in what they choose from what you bring in. Also... their policy is that once you surrender your items that they will accept, you do not get them back and you won't know what their offer is up front. So you have to take whatever they pay. Went in about a week ago to see what the store was about; great concept. Sale your used clothes, help the community. Today I stopped by to bring in my bags. Was informed only 1 bag per household, makes sense to accommodate every customer, get that should be disclosed somewhere. I dropped off my items, mind you these were used once; some with tags still on them. Urban outfitters / Champion/ Calvin Klein / Tommy Hilfiger / Vans etc. I had roughly about 30 items; offered $86. I totally understand making a profit, however I felt this was a complete scam considering the items provided and quality. When I decided to decline the offer, was told "What's the reason, I have to mark it down". Then walked over to the sign indicating the payout amount arrangement. I was completely in understanding of the payout amount; doesn't mean I have to accept the offer. The associate didn't seem thrilled knowing she had to pack up the items for me to take. The cherry on top is I didn't get back one of the items I dropped off because too many hands in the pot with filtering items dropped off from what they would take and declined. Love Uptown Cheapskate! Shopped there all the time when I lived in Dallas. I was elated to find out we were getting one here. We desperately needed a store like this in the Antelope Valley: A good place to buy resell consignment quality clothes. So on to the actual store. They have good quality clothes, prices were a bit on the pricier side for what it is. I took off a star because I did not appreciate being followed in the store by the security guard. There were at least 20 people in the store and I was browsing through some clothing. I look up and the security guard is standing at the end of the aisle when previously he was sitting by the front door upon me walking in. I then walked over one aisle to see if he was actually following me. And sure enough, he quickly walked over and stood in the same aisle as me 2 seconds later. I smiled and waved at him so he knew I noticed him. Like what!? I just came in the store to shop, no need to follow me like a hound dog. Just not a good way to treat your customers. Anyway, I want to see the store succeed despite that bad apple of a security guard. We need more stores like this in the AV and hopefully it's the first of many consignment type stores to come. read more

The only issue I have noticed is the people approving the clothes, I get it's a younger demographic but, there are many different age groups shopping there. Not everyone is wanting cropped shirts, distressed jeans, shirts with daisies. In order to be fashionable you must know all trends!!!! I came in the day before and asked them what's the process of selling my clothes. They said we are looking for summer spring clothes bring in a bag and we will see how much money we can give you for the clothes. I brought in 30 items some items brand new. They went threw the bag and if it wasn't name brand they didn't want it. The whole time they kept asking what are you going to do with the bag of clothes do you want to donate. I was asked 4 times to donate. I didn't want to donate my clothes to them because they didn't want to buy any of my clothes so why would I let them resell my clothes. The way the girl looked through the bag she would grab the shirt and toss it then told the other girl the only thing I saw worth anything was these two. My daughter has a chorus performance at school tonight, so I decided to run into Uptown Cheapskate just to see if I saw a cute dress my daughter would like. Because of how well organized the store is , I knew right where to go. The young lady at the counter greeted me as soon as I walked in and let me know what the current sales and discounts were, which proved very useful while I was quickly browsing. So within minutes I found an adorable black Guess dress with subtle gold and copper color embellishments that was absolutely perfect for my daughter's performance and it was only $12! I also found an adorable strappy teal dress for myself for only $3. Before checking out, I called my sister to come in and give me her opinion on the dress for my daughter and when she came in she was holding her sweet little 3 month old clunky puppy Lilly. We were a little unsure of how the store employees would react to that, but they greeted her with excitement and even informed us that they are trying to promote on their Instagram page that they are a dog friendly store!! So the young lady behind the counter asked my sister for permission to take a few pics of Lilly in the store for their Instagram page, which of course she agreed to! So now our sweet little Lilly is Insta-famous lol! And we now know that there is a place to shop with our pups! All around great experience! Thank you ladies! read more

honestly just went in and got sent away because i had a garbage bag for the clothing i was going to sell, i live in palmdale and so this was a drive for me and i literally called an hour before going to ask about how it works to sell there and they said no rules or anything just come in before 7pm so i did, i got there around 6pm and as soon as i walk they all stare at me and one says i'm sorry we're not going to be able to take in your clothes we don't take clothes with a garbage bag anymore it's a new policy, and while saying that not even making eye contact with me, like horrible service, that was my first time in there and not even 5 mins. never going back ! read more
