I had not purchased a mattress in over 20 years, so this was a significant and time-intensive decision, and he approached it with patience, professionalism, and deep product knowledge. Although he was unable to place the order for delivery aligned with my move-in date, he took the extra step to locate the same mattress at a Chicago store and coordinated with Orlando to ensure I could still complete the purchase. I want to specifically recognize that despite not receiving credit for the sale after investing considerable time, James remained fully committed to ensuring I had a successful outcome. That level of customer-first service is rare and deserves formal recognition. BUYERS BEWARE! I want to share my very disappointing experience with Macy's customer service at Tyson's Corner. I purchased two pairs of jeans in different sizes so I could try them on at home, and I applied a $50 gift card to the order. When I returned the pair that didn't fit, Macy's refunded the gift card first and only then refunded the remaining balance to my Macy's card. Because of this, the gift card could no longer be applied to the pair I kept, and I ended up being charged full price on my card. The only reason I bought these expensive jeans in the first place was because I had a gift card to use. This policy makes no sense and feels completely unfair. The manager was not helpful at all. She kept repeating that "the system doesn't allow" any changes to how returns are processed. I would have returned the pair I kept based on this experience alone, but I had already removed the tag. Macy's, your return system protects the gift card--not the customer. You need to do better if you want to keep loyal customers happy. read more

There was actually merchandise in my size which is rare at my mall. Also this location is more organized. I was impressed with their clearance racks. This is one of the worst stores when it comes to returns. The "Last Act" items are apparently non-returnable, but this is not clearly explained when you are making the purchase. The staff seems focused only on selling, and when you need help with a return, they become rude and dismissive. We purchased what was supposed to be a diamond bracelet, and when we tried to return it, the employees were very rude and simply said it had been more than 30 days, without offering any explanation or assistance. They even made unpleasant faces during the interaction. We are Macy's Platinum customers, but apparently loyalty means nothing to them. Customer service should matter, especially for long-time clients. We will definitely take our business and loyalty to another store that values and cares about its customers. read more

I went here looking for a suit for a friend for a last minute event, and the men's suit section had so many options in a couple of different cuts with very helpful staff! We were able to try on a bunch of different suits and they had plenty of different sizes to choose from. When we weren't sure about whether something fit correctly, the staff provide direction about sizing down or switching cuts. We were in and out in two hours with a suit in hand! we tried going by the other department stores in the mall, but they didn't have the sizes or the options we needed within our price range, Macy's was the right place to go! read more

After being stuck on Interstate 495 for 3 hours, I decided to get off the beltway and visit Tysons Corner Mall. My first stop was Macy's. I really like this Macy's. They are a cut above, all of the other stores. They have a wonderful selection of clothing and accessories. This store is always overflowing with sales personnel to help you find whatever you need. I am not a huge fan of the decrease in registers to check out. This makes for longer lines and more disgruntled customers. That is why I took off one star. The prices are fair. They always have a sale going on, so you can get a discount. But, for selection, well stocked, and a variety of merchandise, this store is the best. I really enjoy shopping here. 10/1/22 Today we are here to pick up some items from online. Located on the second floor at the back end of the store, I noticed the very small Toys R Us section. I expect this area to get much bigger in time as the store makes its return like Big Boy Restaurants and Little Ceasar's Pizza. This store is much busier than the last time we were here. In fact, the whole mall is much busier. I like this. I have seen many three dogs in the mall so far and apparently, they are allowed inside of Macy's. I wonder if I will end up seeing someone with a pony in the mall. I have certainly seen one in a Marriott hotel as a service animal. Getting what we needed today wasn't hard, but the checkout booth in the women's intimate section has been closed off. This causes a long line for checkout in the bedding department. This is the Macys I go to. Usually shop online, but there are bargains to be found. You might be thinking "Tysons Corner?" The answer is a loud yes, as what they have on clearance/sale is incredible. I've scored quite a few deals here on cologne, dress shirts, and shoes. Oh also a good looking watch. Macys is among the more competitive department stores. This store probably is a model for others to be like. They always have items in stock, and the customer service here is exemplary. I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional customer service I received from Mr. Syed Hasan last December at the Macy's store in Tyson's Corner Shopping Mall. Last Christmas, I treated myself to a brand-new Comforter set, with all the bells and whistles. I made a purchase online but received the wrong color Euro pillow shams. During my search for the matching color, a manager at The Pentagon City mall informed me that Tyson's Corner had the covers I needed. Although it was my first visit to Tyson's Corner, I was able to find the matching Euro sham, but I encountered a slight challenge in conveying my request to the salesman at the counter. Despite the sales for that particular pillow cover being over, I was attempting to make an even exchange for the correct color to keep the discount, but the salesman was trying to make a return and then charge me for the cover at the current price. I was a little frustrated, because I just completed the same transaction at the Pentagon City mall, but they only had one pillowcase, so I had to drive to Tyson's Corner location to find the other one. This is when Mr. Syed Hasan came to my rescue. His assistance was nothing short of outstanding, especially during the hectic holiday season when the store was bustling with customers. His kindness and patience made a significant impact on my overall shopping experience. With Mr. Hasan's intervention, the exchange was successfully completed, and I was delighted to have the correct Euro cover in hand. Not only did Mr. Hasan resolve my exchange issue, but he also assisted me with a specific brand of Euro sham inserts to match my set. These inserts were not available at the Pentagon City store, and Mr. Hasan, along with one of his associates, accompanied me to the bedding section of the store. I've shopped in a Macy's from San Francisco to NYC and now Tysons Corner. I've never experienced the condescension from an employee I experienced in this store. We went in to buy sheets. I was looking at the hotel collection and the guy comes over and asks, "do you want this or perhaps something cheaper?" Excuse me!? Then he led me to the "something cheaper" and asked, "what color do you want?" And kept asking me questions when I said I didn't know. I started to wander away from the cheap stuff cause I was looking for the feel more than the price. And he continues to ask questions and pressure me towards the cheap sheets. What the heck!? When we get to the register he's there and practically grabs the stuff out of my hand and then says, "look at the price ma'am". Excuse me!? Do you think we can't afford it!? My husband went to get me a Estee Lauder set that he knows I love, but he end up buying me a Chanel #5 and he told me that it was because he waited on the stand over 8 minutes and nobody came to help him. I've been coming to this location since it was Hecht's Department Store before Macy's took over the space. The men's bathroom on the first floor near the elevators is absolutely disgusting. It is constantly filthy, with puddles in front of the toilets, toilet paper run out (you better check it before you sit down), and it smells real bad. I've seen nicer men's rooms in bus terminals. It doesn't look like they have ever renovated it since Hecht's built it fifty years ago. Don't know how the ladies' room is. They need to demolish this whole area including around the elevator and completely rebuild it, and they should have full-time attendants in the men's and ladies' bathrooms. The entire store has very poor ventilation, especially noticeable during the warm months. Terrible for a Covid environment. It seems like they also never upgraded their ventilation system, and I doubt very much if they installed filtration systems to protect customers and staff from getting the Covid infection. I actually avoid going to this store during the summer. Some of the sales staff can barely speak English, and customers have to go thru mental gymnastics to untangle their mumbling. read more

Worst customer service ever! I bought two women's shoes for $200 and the customer service brought out the shoe boxes without checking inside, and now I only have one left foot shoe for both boxes. It was also very difficult to find someone to help because no one was out on the floor. I live about 3 hours away from Tyson's corner and now I have to waste my time and drive 3 hours back to make up for the customer service's mistake. It's ridiculous! I tried to call the shoe department the next day during business hours and they said "the extension 564 is invalid". I'm just so shook right now, how does the customer service gave me only one left foot in both shoe boxes and never check to see if there are a pair in there??? Buying your wedding bands is supposed to be an exciting life milestone and Macy's Tysons Corner has taken what was supposed to be a memorable milestone that we should look back on fondly for a lifetime, and has turned this into an overly stressful, time-consuming, and incompetence-laden experience. As Macy's card holders, my fiancée and I decided to try Macy's for our wedding bands. Initially, we were pleased with the prices for the "18K gold bands." When we found rings that we liked, the staff assured us that they could re-size the ring to our exact specifications. Three times we confirmed that: (1) the rings were 18k, and (2) that the store or any jewelry store would be able to size the ring for my fiancée. When we returned a week later to pick up our rings, a separate staff member also reassured us of the karats and that any Macy's would be able to size the rings. When we visited the Macy's in Metro Center, Washington D.C. to size the rings they told us: (1) that the rings were not 18k and that "Macy's does not carry pure 18k gold rings, only 18k gold plates silver" and (2) that they would not be able to size the ring based on the size that was sold to us. When we asked for other options, their only help was to tell us that the Macy's Tysons Corner should have never sold us the rings and misrepresented what they sold. When we visited other actually reputable jewelers, they also confirmed that it would be impossible to size the ring given the size that was sold to us. We foolishly took Macy's Tysons Corner staff at their words, and when we reviewed our receipt more closely, it further confirmed that the rings were not 18k. This suggests that the Macy's Tysons Corner staff either: (1) is grossly incompetent, or (2) actively misrepresents their products to make a sale. Regardless of either, my fiancée and I will no longer shop at Macy's. We are (1) returning our rings, (2) canceling our Macy's card, (3) taking every Macy's product off of our wedding registry, (4) sending this to the Better Business Bureau and registering the complaint with the FTC, and (5) going to continue to publicize this misrepresentation on social media channels so that others will not make the same mistake of shopping for jewelry at this Macy's. When we look at our new wedding rings that we now need to buy from somewhere else, we will be reminded of Macy's misrepresentation and all of the added stress that this has caused in the days leading up to our wedding. read more

Macy's completely blindsided us when we purchased a mattress from this location. While purchasing, we asked if living on a fifth floor without an elevator is an issue for delivery or if we'd need to get help to carry it up the stairs, as my wife is a very small person, so we cannot carry a mattress up the steps without help. The sales person assured us that was not a problem. That they'd bring the mattress all the way up the stairs. However at the time of delivery they refused to deliver citing the number of floors as the issue. They asked if they could leave it at the bottom of the stairs, but we didn't arrange help since we were told the delivery would come all the way up the stairs. That whole process was handled extremely poorly, the delivery man just said "customer service wants to speak to you" and shoved a phone at me. The same man was rude to my wife on the phone when he called to ask our address and cut her off while giving out our address to say "that is an address I just need the unit number". I mainly shopped at Macy's because its convenient when I'm at the mall. This experience was such a pain that I know one store I'm never coming back too, I'll just use Amazon instead and find another mattress shop. Canceling the Macy's card as well. I wouldn't have minded having to get help, but the encounter with the delivery man and last minute rebuke on delivery was enough to ruin the brand in my eyes. read more

The store is located inside the mall. There are lots of clothing choices. Macy's has frequent sales. I like the spacious dressing rooms. This store expects you to put the clothes back, as opposed to hanging your "not getting this" item on a rack by the dressing room. Some sales allow you to get an extra percentage off of your purchase with your Macy's credit card. If you don't want to get a store card, you can get a discount when buying a gift card. For sure this is one of the nicer Macy's that I've been in. Huge store, great brands and even better prices. We seem to be able to find more things in this Macy's over other ones in the DVM area. They have a huge selection of INC brand and the employees are very helpful here. This store is also very well organized compared to other locations that I've been to. Yes, this "Macy's" was originally a "Hecht's" bought out in the acquisition a few years back and slowly brought forward to the Macy's standard of quality, variety, and service. The one exceptional feature here is the women's shoe department. The selection available here far exceeds that of the Galleria Macy's less than a mile away. I find the customer service to be usually friendly and engaged, but the selection is lacking to a large extent outside the shoe and fragrance/cosmetic departments. read more

Ask for Naisha! I may be spelling her name wrong, but she is the best. I've gone to her a couple times now and she always comes up with great things to match my skin tone and eye color. She is really good at what she does. And she always comes up with things I would never think of on my own. Best of all, she TEACHES you so you can easily replicate the look on your own. The last time I was there, she talked me into trying the fake lashes. They were weird at first but after a while, true to her word, I didn't even realize I had them on. Funny thing, I stopped at the store on the way home and a girl working there asked if my eye lashes were real. I said, "do they look real?" She said they do but she wasn't sure because they looked so nice. The quality is worth the price in my opinion. The lashes are resuable for a couple weeks unlike the crappy $7 ones you get at CVS that always look horrible. The other makeup is long lasting and comes in beautiful shades. Naisha is 5 stars I love her for making me feel part of the MAC Cosmetics Family :-) The MAC Counter at Macy's gets minus one star. Sometimes they are so busy, they don't have enough people working there, or the manager and her friend will go to lunch at the same time leaving the counter understaffed. So while they are doing your makeup they have to multitask and help other customers so sometimes it will take a while. Call and make an appointment if you're going for a consultation. Week days or nights you might not have a problem but weekends you should schedule one for sure. And consultations are a $50 minimum purchase (which is easy to spend) read more

Beware the WorryNoMore (or whatever they call it) furniture protection plans! I almost never buy warranties or protection plans. But when I bought some furniture from Macy's I was told that with the protection plan, I would get my money back after 7 years if I didn't file a claim. I should have known there was a catch. There's always a catch. What I missed, or what I probably wasn't even told, is that you have to ask for your money back within 90 days of the end of the 7 year period. So I screwed up first by buying the protection plan. Then by assuming that they would contact me to tell me how to collect the money (or to just send me the money).
