The 3 stars goes to the sales clerk in the mattress department. He was really knowledgeable, friendly and worked with me to get a bed and then exchange it for a new one after I wasn't satisfied. That being said, I HATED my original purchase: The Purple Hybrid 3. I can not get any sleep on it - 3 weeks in and still no sleep. The bed is way too firm. I love the idea of this bed and the new technology. The only plus to this bed is that I sleep hot and this bed did not give back that heat. I started sleeping on a blow-up mattress because I would toss and turn all night. I'd get out of bed aching every morning. :( I ordered a new bed - Stearns and Foster Luxe Cassat, Pillow Top and he confirmed the delivery date, which was 10 days out. That was fine because I was going out of town for a week. Then, Macy's switches the date to the following week, without even asking me. And they didn't even bother to switch the date to take away my original bed. Really Macy's? Use some common sense. So, now I was stuck with my lame bed for another week. I visited this Lakewood Macys this afternoon, between 3pm and 4pm and was very disappointed. We walked in through the perfumes area and as we were walking in, towards the make-up counters area, we were met with very loud music, with very derogatory terms, foul language and sexually explicit comments in the lyrics. I was not only distracted from my shopping experience, but felt very uncomfortable because I was with my family, so after a few minutes there, I decided to cut our visit short. I am a 3rd generation Macys shopper and come to Macys because we can shop for everything we need in one store, and this store is the closest to our home. I was very disappointed with today's atmosphere, and I'm not sure I'll be going back to this Macys store again. There's been multiple confirmed cases of COVID from the employees in this store and yet they've made no changes to limit the spread. This location does not limit the amount of people allowed in the store, so there's always crowds of people with no social distancing enforced. Some staff don't sanitize between customers and many employees who work there state that the store does not clean or disinfect surfaces thoroughly. This location needs to make some serious changes to protect the health of their employees and customers. Until then, if you shop here you are at serious risk for getting COVID. read more

I needed to get a refund for an item that was bought at Macy's. Because of the pandemic it was over the 90 days. The salesperson gave us a hard time and finally I get a refund for $66 which cannot be transferred it must be used at the same store. The reason it went past 90 days is obviously because of Covid 19. The refund should have been either in cash or Just returned to my credit card. This is a pretty s***** way to treat customers during the pandemic. read more

Hm, definitely not the best Macy's I've been to. It could use a facelift; the whole place feels kind of old and blah. I started out in the housewares department upstairs looking for a gift and I found something I liked, but I couldn't find a salesperson to ring me up to save my life! It was hilarious to see 3-4 people wandering about holding stuff wanting to pay and get out and not being able to. Turns out there's one guy working that whole floor, practically, so he was helping someone with their questions and a line was forming at the counter. I felt bad for the guy, it's not his fault that they were understaffed, and he was pleasant and didn't lose his cool even with people complaining at him. I finally got to pay for my stuff and then headed down to the women's lingerie dept to look for some bras (this is in the basement, btw). There were adequate amount of salespeople here, thank goodness, and they were able to help me find what I was looking for. I got suckered into getting a Macy's card, though--should've known better, but good quality bras can cost some $$! Overall I guess it's OK because I was able to get what I came for, but the general shopping experience was a little bleh. I just come here because it's such a convenient location. read more

This shopping experience was so bad that I signed up for Yelp just to complain. This store is obviously dying: clothes on racks everywhere as I looked for some pajamas. Their pajama section was a mess and it was barely 11am, clearly left a mess overnight (or who knows how long) with clothes and hangers on the floor, pajama sets missing pants, etc. When I finally got to the register there was no one there. I waited 10 minutes and then saw someone go into the racks near a blocked fitting room. But did they help me? No, she said she wasn't sales. Who was sales though, because there certainly wasn't one in kids ? But thats not even the end of it. I went down the escalator and ended up in handbags. There was a cute bag but I couldn't find the tag for it to see the price. So I looked for handbags person, and there was no one here either. When I went to the mens register to ask, the girl there said she! Was the handbags associate, but that they were making her handle mens as well, and that I'd have to wait until her line was finished. I thought Macy's was supposed to be a high end store, but apparently they can't even afford to staff their registers? Never coming back to this location, but I doubt it will even be here next year judging from how bad it looks. Obviously going out of business soon. read more

This review is strictly for the men's section. Specifically where the Alfani shirts and all the belts are at. If you need advice, and one of the store attendants looks like a mom, LISTEN TO HER. FOLLOW EVERY WORD SHE SUGGESTS. I'm not an awful girlfriend, but I'm probably not very fashion-sensitive. I will say my bf is the cutest boy alive no matter what he's wearing except maybe short of a thong. Sorry, but no guy looks good in a thong. However, I do have a common sense side and I knew that, for the most part, the bf would need to get measured. So, he goes up to this nice motherly lady with glasses, who I will call "mom" from here on forward, and asks to be measured. "Alright, stand to attention." Mom promptly measures him, and immediately goes to the sales racks to find a good fit for him. She's already muttering to herself his measurements while the bf watches her and I stand way far back to let the master do her thing. When you see a pro, you want to make sure you give her her room. Mom whips out 2 or 3 shirts, all of varying sizes but she points to a specific shirt that she believes that he would be most comfortable in. The shirt she picked also had qualities that she thought would look best on him, such as slimming qualities, and accents for the chest and shoulders. Like I said, if the lady is trying to make you look good without really trying to sell you stuff, LISTEN TO HER. So, he tries on the shirts. Mom then eyes me looking at the belts, takes me over to another shirt section and asks what colors I think he would like. So, she's not trying to take things over, but actually trying to INCLUDE me. Holy crap, I'm a part of the family already. And then she disappears. "To the basement", she says. She bids farewell to her coworkers, and I don't see her for a few minutes. The bf comes out, he pinpoints the exact shirt she suggested as the most comfortable, and then she reappears from the batcave, holding out 3-4 more shirts with varying colors that he would like, but with the EXACT SIZE for him. We couldn't find any more at our level, so she actually WENT DOWN TO THE BASEMENT to look for more. Now THAT is customer service. So, we happily followed her advice, found a few more things, and then went back to her station to ring everything up. This is when she started to work her other sorcery. She was able to check each of the items, and then realized we had coupons that she could charge a little bit differently to get the most bang for our buck. So, we actually had two separate receipts in order to fully use our coupons. Overall, had around a $350 charge but that went down to the low $250 after she was done with us. I straight out told her that she was awesome. Not many customer service people would do that, but she definitely tried her best in finding what best fit the bf. So, if you find Mom in the men's section and need advice, go to her. Bow to her greatness! read more

I should have checked the reviews for this store before I went in. I had a very negative experience. I ordered a roasting pan online and selected in store pick up. After fighting the crazy traffic at the mall, I ended up waiting in a very - very - slow moving line inside the store. Poor planning on management's part seemed to be the cause. Customers kept jumping ahead in the line ahead of others who had been waiting. When I finally got the check out, the store employee there almost took one of these cutting people over me. But I wasn't having it. To top it all off, they wouldn't give me my roasting pan. They had sent me a bar code on my phone, and the instructions said bring in the bar code. But they wanted ID, which I didn't have. Since, you know, they said just bring the bar code on my phone. That's an hour and a half of my life I'll never get back, all for a roasting pan I don't have. I purchased a Christmas gift for pickup they charged my card and stated they would send me a message when the item was ready for pickup next day I receive a email saying my order was cancelled so I called Macy's they said they sold the item and they cancelled my order I asked if I could pick up at another location were it was available they said no but they could ship it in 5 business days but that doesn't work for me since it is a Christmas gift and I needed before that so I asked for a refund they said ok but it would take 7-10 business days so if the funds aren't released by Macy's I can't go get the item at another location to gift Which is horrible business practice after you charge me for a item you sell my item then tell me to wait 10 business days to get my own money back you have on hold when speaking to customer service they said to call my bank because it's my bank holding the money so I did my bank said it was Macys holding the funds since they are the ones who pulled the money for the purchase Macy's has Horrible customer service & bad business practices. read more

Yesterday my mother and I went to Macy's to acquire a pair of boots. While we we were in the shoe department one of their associates didn't bother to greet either of us but proceeded in greeting another customer and as my mother and browsed through the boots this same sales associate indulged in watching us carefully as well following us, to point my mother and I felt uncomfortable, profiled, and targeted. I went to the sunglass hut in Macys to return a pair of sunglasses. First of all, the woman working there was very dismissive and acted like I was putting her out by being in her section. I attempted to return the sunglasses and she said she needed my receipt and when I could not find the receipt she said she couldn't do the return. After looking up the policy that clearly states I can make the return without the receipt, I informed her about this and she begrudgingly went to the computer to do the return. She couldn't seem to find my purchase using my card despite me showing her the transaction within my actual bank account. Annoyed, she called her manager and after talking on the phone for a while she held my glasses up to the light, hung up the phone, and smugly informed me she could not accept the return as the glasses were scratched. This was completely untrue and very suspicious that this was ultimately the reason she couldn't accept the return? Very annoying and unpleasant. read more

My review is for the Men's Fragrance department. I was helped by a gentleman "Greg" I was told was his name. Bald, African American, Very well dressed, in a suit. He was very nice at first and led me to some men colognes. Gave me some options and I decided for one (YSL) . I did tell him upfront that I wanted a nice shopping bag for the gift. So he wrapped it up, and turned out looking like a Christmas gift. I told him I wanted a nice gift bag and he said he only had Versace bags so if I wanted one I'd have to purchase Versace. So I did just that! I asked to smell the Versace cologne and opted for one that smelled way better than the YSL. He was furious!!! I don't know if he had a quota to meet by selling YSL over Versace cologne but he made it very clear that he was not having it! He told his colleague while tossing the cologne into a bag "All this Sh*** over a damn Bag" I obviously told him I heard that and it was not only the bag but the Versace smelled way better. Lastly when I asked for puffy paper to go in the bag, the lady walked over to get me the white Plain paper and he stopped her. Gave her some Ugly MACYS Labeled paper and told her "that's all she gets"... obviously WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Macy's, online shopping is killing your industry for a reason. Every time I order online and go here to pick up my items, there is always ONE person working the service counter and the line is ALWAYS long. Be prepared to wait at LEAST 15 min. Average wait seems to be anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes. It's ridiculous. It seriously makes you want to just stop ordering online. As far as merchandise, this Macy's is the worst! There are four levels, which means LOTS of space, and still... nothing! The baby section (for boys) was scarce, and all the outfits looked exactly the same. The women's section is the whole, entire second floor, so why couldn't I find anything? Because a quarter of the floor is shoes, a quarter is for coats/jackets, a quarter for juniors, and a quarter for petite/woman. Where were the in-between juniors and woman clothes? Bare Mineral's I.D. make-up kiosk only. Yes, they carry it and I had a great representative show me the new products. This saves me from a drive into the Westside Pavilion. Again, the colors are under the fluorescent lighting so try the make-up on, and then go into sunlight to check the color. This is the only reason I'd go into a Macy's. read more

I had an appt today at MAC for my makeup to be done by a professional makeup artist (I thought) I told the young man what I wanted and he said okay! This man had NO clue what he was doing! He was acting very nervous and seemed to be a bit insecure...he also went to get his friend a few times to help him with my eye makeup... It took him 1 whole hour JUST to do my eyes! Once I was done I was so unhappy with his work I asked the manager if I can have my face done over and she told me if they do my face over its required that I pay ANOTHER $50 for another artist to do my face! So my honey and I visited Macy's on 2/1/2020 men department store looking for a leather jacket. Once we found the jacket we needed assistance in having it removed from the rack for security reasons, my honey went to the shoe department to ask for assistance and comes back with a young man by the name of Spencer, now this young man is a black man walking towards me with his WAIT FOR IT........ NATURAL HAIR IN A AFRO!!! my mouth dropped I was filled with immediate joy at that moment seeing this young man with his big beautiful Afro I was PROUD!, I was so proud to see him and even more I was PROUD OF MACY'S! This might not seem like something big to anyone else or any other ethnicity but as a black woman this was everything to me!, I felt a sense of understanding from MACY'S I felt a sense of relief, a small but powerful breath of fresh air! The world is in such intense sometimes uncomfortable energy that it just felt good to see. So THANK YOU MACY'S! THANK YOU FOR THIS BRIEF BUT SATISFYING MOMENT OF UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION! This Macy's location is special because they have a MAC inside and I love that about it. However, I was a little disappointed in the service today. I felt like the staff or at least the girl that was helping me really wasn't helping at all. She was trying to give the illusion that she was being attentive but she had me try on all the cosmetics myself without helping me apply the products correctly and then kept walking away and returning. I have never had that happen before. I felt like that was a little strange. :/ Don't get me wrong I'm a big girl and can put on my own makeup but what is the staff there for ?
