Came in intending to find just one wedding guest dress and almost walked out with two, so I called that mission accomplished! Before BP, I visited about 5 other stores with no luck. The sales associate was super nice and truly great at her job. I gave her a breakdown of what I was looking for, and she immediately understood and delivered. I was specifically looking for beige, champagne, and millard-toned dresses, and she found two dresses, one in a deep millard (think brown shades) as well as a champagne dress, with multiple size options. They also do price matching, so if the same dress is cheaper online, just let them know, and they'll adjust the price. BPc items can be pricey, but they're definitely worth it for the quality. read more

My wife bought a shirt for me online a Banana Republic for Christmas that I already have and a shirt that was too big for me. Today is January 28th. I went into the store to return it (unworn, with all original packaging) and the manager wouldn't let me return it because it was bought online. She said I would need to contact the online department and then file a dispute with them if I cannot return it there. I asked the manager if she could just do store credit or anything and she said she couldn't. I'm disappointed with this experience because I frequently shop at banana republic and have never had any issues returning items that I bought online into a store (this is my first time going to this specific store). Hard to believe there was no willingness to support over returning two shirts. read more

Bad customer service. Unfriendly staff. Better to go to the grove for better treatment.

I always go to the cerritos mall BR and they give me the handicap trial room on request as I have knee problems. The guy at the mall said I can only give you that room if I'm his customer. I asked him again as I said it's hard for me to change clothes. He said he wanted to see my handicap placard. I felt it was rude . Overall too he tried to be nice in the beginning but was rude in the end so I walked away. I did mention this to the manager though. I hope he learns no t to do that to other people who need the room like me. read more

Purchased a brand new utility jacket that was to be mailed out to me. I was not given a receipt nor was I informed of a new exchange policy that occurred days before. When I had to exchange it, I was not allowed to because of a few days difference despite that they had record of my purchase. Called customer service and even contacted BBB. They simply did not care. Jacket is brand new with tags, unworn, it didn't fit. Having been a loyal customer of 20 years I was greatly disappointed. I froze my credit cards and will definitely take my business elsewhere, it's apparent they just don't care. read more

I loves me some Banana Republic. They offer classic yet modern styles for both men and women. I always feel their clothing can be worn year after year as the types of classic cuts they offer don't really go out of style. Plus, the fabrics used are higher quality and the level of workmanship is much better than say Forever 21 or H&M. But for the higher quality you will be paying higher prices. I don't mind, as BR's clothes will last you much longer and you can wear them for many years to come. This was my first visit to the new BR location since they moved from their smaller location. I must say it is very nice - very modern and clean. Women's apparel to the left and men's to the right as you walk in. The cashier is at the very back of the store and the Clearance section is to the right right before the cashier. Bottom line: I will always love BR. Their clothes are well-made and classic while still being fashion forward. Plus they have a great Petites section, perfect for shorties like me. read more

A very well organized & friendly store. The staff there are very attentive & professional. A particular staff member named Leah went out of her way to find a final sale item that was a matching piece to my black suit. She really made my day because I need it for my mother's funeral. Don't be shy to ask for recommendations or help with sizing as they are all very willing to help. read more

Ugh. I hate shopping at stores before Christmas... ESPECIALLY at malls. In fact, I try my best to avoid places like this 99.9% of the time. This is one of those rare occasions that are make you re-consider once was known as a negative experience into a positive one. This review is long overdue. So why did I choose to torture myself?? Well, Santa had a person on his good list that wanted something specifically from this store, that I couldn't *cough Santa, couldn't find online. Already flustered from finding impossible parking, I walked into the store and was greeted by an associate. Already hating my life's decision to be here, I proceeded to show him what I was looking for. He knew almost immediately that they probably didn't have what I was looking for as he hasn't seen in it in a long time. GREAT. JUST GREAT. Just as I was about to give up the search, he offered to show me some similar items. Hesitantly I agreed. Fearing the pressure of a sales quota sales pitch. He spent a good amount of time with me trying hard to find something similar for me and even though the store was busy, I felt like I was there all by myself. ACE was extremely attentive, warm and really went the extra mile. He really knew his styles and was able to get me caught up on trends and provide his personal feedback. This guy was super personable and informative. He explained the layout, process to sign up for a credit card and the return policy. It's rare to find retail associates that aren't burnt out by the holiday season, and with a name like Ace, he was an exception to that rule and an unexpected blessing. The person I was shopping for ended up loving his gift and I ended up eyeing some stuff myself. So while I have the option to order online, I think I'll head on over instead. Well done Banana Republic, I am a fan! Well done ACE! read more

Pro: I went to the Cerritos Banana Republic branch last week. I was greeted right away when I walked in by an employee named Ace, and he was very helpful! He explained all the deals going on at the store and gave recommendations and alternatives. He also made sure I got the size I needed. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my experience. Especially with the help of Ace! Con: It's not as big as compared to the stores, and I noticed that they don't have much items left on the floor. read more

The name of this store is a curse. You know you have to question the origin of the clothing at a store that aligns itself with a Banana Republic. You know, the same republics from Latin America (Honduras, Guatemala) that sold cheap bananas to the United States? I mean, who would put themselves in that position? Any student of history knows you don't go around calling your store that specializes in treaties the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and have customers who hail from the Warsaw Pact countries not realize something is out of place here. Ironically, despite all that earlier, the clothing here is not even made in any Banana Republic. At least then it would have been truthful advertising. No no, in fact, the clothes are predominantly made in China. And what isn't nowadays, right? And I am all for a good deal and free trade, but I cannot support it. I do not buy clothes made in China if I can help it. I always make comments to sales reps to find a version of the same shirt or pants with a different country of origin, preferably Europe or the United States. Not only will the quality be presumably better, but at least you're not contributing to the widening trade deficit between our two countries. Also, I cannot morally support products of a country with a history of human rights abuse and to where jobs are being exported to. Therefore, no made in China stuff for me. Plus, on a less darker side, I think we all agree that it sounds better to say that this shirt was made in Paris, France than in China. Sadly, connotations and word associations are strong...and have nothing to do with this store or this review. Oh, the decor is pretty nice and adds some exotica to any shopping mall, including this one! read more

I have a secret confession to make... I don't usually gravitate towards trendy fashion stuff, but this is the place I would check out for some of the clothings. Normally Target or some cheap a*s clothing store would do. Heck I'll even settle for jeans at Mervyn's or something like that, but when I was younger, I had to keep up with the crowd and would stopped by here. Don't know on whether or not it's peer pressure or just trying to fit in, but I would come here often to shop for my clothings. Trust me, I ain't going to Gap. Flash forward to grown up stage and I can tell you that I don't look for trendy jackets or sweaters..... but yet... I can't help myself coming here for a quick look. Yes, sure enough, I'm buying stuffs that I don't normally would go for. They do have the clothing that fits me and I looked sharp in some of those sweaters and pants. There's no silly low cut jeans or baggy pants (not as much) and I feel comfortable buying clothings at Banana Republic. Oh, the shame!! Yes, I do sell out sometimes, but for this, I'm willing to do it. This particular store does carry many selections of jackets, sweaters, pants, and fashionable wears for both men and women. Very organized of a store and very clean. There's some occasional youngsters that resembles me of my yesteryear. I don't begrudged them for coming here. I just hope they realized that they'll still be here in the not so distant future. Just look at me and they'll know. read more

Christian the sales associate was very attentive, and helpful. The store was clean and fitting rooms.

Like other reviewers have mentioned, this place is horrible at accepting returns. I had trouble with a return back in May 2014. Yes 3 years later and it still burns me to this day. BR has awesome sales from time to time and nice shirts but ever since that day they refused to accept my return, I never shopped there again or at any Gap brand. I even canceled the BR Luxe Card. What happened was I needed a dress shirt, tie, and pants immediately. I bought it that day in 2014. I knew I could get a better deal online so I bought the same matching set online as well in hopes I could return it to the store and save a little money. After all, I was on a budget but I liked shopping there and they have nice clothes. The manager wouldn't accept my return for the shirt from the store because he looked at it and said that it was too wrinkled even though it still had the tags on. Fine, I admit that it was sitting in the trunk of my car for awhile. He refused it saying that he couldn't resell it in its current condition. So I bring back the other set I bought online with the same exact size, item#, shrink-wrapped by their own factory and he still refused the return. He said that they couldn't accept returns from the online warehouse. The only way you could tell was that it was shrink-wrapped while the store shirts were out of the wrap and hanging on the racks. I conceded. I gave up. If you're the manager of a store and I come in to your store around mid-day when the ratio of employees is greater than the customers in the store and you can't find someone to iron out the wrinkles so I can return the shirt and make me happy then I give up. Or you won't accept a return because the same exact item#, color, and size for a shirt and tie that was shipped from the factory is wrapped in plastic and the ones you're selling aren't then I give up. You win. You get to keep your profit margin in the black for that day while you lose a customer and the customer's family for life. There were literally only 2-3 customers in the store including me and 3-4 employees at the time. The shirt was never worn and it had the tags on and it was within the return window. If you were a good manager, you would have done what was right to make the customer happy. I wasn't asking for anything out of the ordinary. I just wanted to save $20. Sad thing is, I still have 2 sets of all three items in my closet: one set with tags that haven't been worn and one set without tags. TL;DR: Buy something here if you're absolutely 100% sure you don't need to return or exchange it. read more

Came here over the holidays to buy clothes for my husband, this is the only brand he like because of the quality and fit. I've never been so blatantly non-verbally assaulted in my life until I step foot into this god forsaken store. Was it because I was dressed some sort of way. Was I being judged because I didn't look like I have the means to shop at Banana Republic? Was it because I was wearing my Dodgers jersey because I stopped by the mall before heading to the game? It still bothers me to this day and even after a few weeks, I feel sick to my stomach when the memory of my visit to Banana Republic in Cerritos Mall comes flashing back. I purchased a full suit at the Banana Republic in South Coast Plaza the day before and decided I didn't want to waste time and money getting it tailored when I could spend the same price for a Bespoke Suit. Seeing that I was going to be in Cerritos for lunch, I decided to stop by the Banana Republic store in Cerritos Mall take care of my return. Upon entering, I walked straight to the back to fine two cashiers at the register. One female was taking care of a transaction while the another was folding clothes next to her. When a phone call came through the associate that was folding took the call and started taking a online order/store inventory check. Am I invisible? At Macy's I was taught to acknowledge the customer, reassure that they will be taken care of shortly. It;s just good customer service. But that isn't the reason why I gave a one star... Once the sales associate finished ringing up her customer, she turns around and starts talking to the associate folding clothes...STILL not acknowledging my existence. So finally when I get called up, I informed her I was returning this suit that I bought yesterday. As to why? "Well, I decided that it just wasn't for me." Well I guess by the on her face, one would assume I offered the associate a nice big smelly turd. She began looking at EVERY INCH OF THE JACKET. Then proceeded to tell me "We can't take this return because we don't carry it in our store." Since when the hell has that ever stop ANYONE from returning ANYTHING at any store, yet alone the SAME company. My girlfriend used to work at Banana Republic and shocked how dense this statement was. Completely bewildered. Hell if anything, you now have a nice suit in your inventory that you can get sales for. I asked her to confirm with her manager because I have never heard such a stupid statement in my life. Lo and behold, the Manager corrects the associate and states that they can take the suit even if they don't carry that particular style. Well let me tell you, the persecution didn't stop there. The MANAGER takes my jacket, runs her hands through each pocket, every crack, and inspects every inch of this BRAND NEW jacket. Then she starts sniffing EVERYTHING. Not whiffing...SNIFFING for god knows what. Just imagine a grown adult shoving fabric in her face to smell the lapel, pockets, coat tails, arms, legs, chest, inside, and out. She then looks at me, turns to her underling and says, "Okay." looks back at me and disappears to the back. What. The. F. I never felt so small and insignificant in my life. I wonder, if I was dressed in my professional work attire, would these two incompetent associates have treated me like an insect? For reference, this was the suit I returned: Modern Slim Textured Navy Wool Suit Jacket http://bananarepublic.gap.com/webcontent/0009/987/347/cn9987347.jpg read more

I was one of those people that had thought that Banana Republic was too expensive to shop at but I was wrong. I've know about Banana Republic since I was a teenager and at the time the clothes didn't appeal to me. About five years ago I was dragged into one of their stores by my gf and it was then that I had a look at what they offered and realized that it wasn't as expensive as I had originally thought. Banana Republic is another one of those affordable high end stores. They offer fit, well made clothing for a lot less than what you'd pay for when it comes to high end designer clothing. Their girls clothing is something my gf absolutely adores. Their pants, slacks and shirts always fit really well. It hugs the body in all the right places and is breathable and comfortable enough to wear all day. I love their selection of men's clothing because they are one of the few stores that offer both short tall and fitted sizes and as a short man it's a hassle trying to find pants and shirts that aren't too long or too short. Their pants, jeans and slacks for men have great lines that flatter every frame and body type. I've never had any problems with bad stitching, inseams, hems or buttons coming off or falling apart. Their clothes tend to last a pretty long time with proper care. They offer a wide selection of professional wear for both men and women. What I like about their professional wear is that it's versatile, you can dress it down for every day casual or dress it up for the office or evening out. No matter what you'll always look very stylish and well put together. You'll look like a million bucks without having to spend that much. Yes, Banana Republic is a bit pricey than some of the other stores but if you consider quality and compare it to high end designer names Banana Republic is a bargain. My advice is if you don't want to spend too much to shop during their sales or check out their outlets, you'll be surprise how much you'll save (at least 50 percent) and what you can get for your money. Like I said, their clothes are made well with high quality materials so you'll have them for years. Another plus for Banana Republic is that their target customers are men and women in their twenties and up so you'll very rarely find teenagers in there. Their stores are always well maintained and the sales associates are friendly and helpful. #299 read more

Why does it always seem like the sales staff are busy behind the counter gossiping or folding clothes or basically doing anything they can to look busy so that they don't have to help you!!! ANNOYING!!! They have the clearance/sale section in the far back...it's super unorganized and getting smaller and smaller by the minute... I prefer to go to the BR on 2nd St in Belmont Shore or the one in South Coast Plaza...this one isn't as well stocked, staff isn't friendly or helpful and Cerritos Mall parking can be a pain read more

To "Ms. Char A"... First of all... The Cerritos store is super friendly. I will say Belmont is also friendly but south coast plaza is not customer friendly at all. Maybe no one helped you because most people do not ask for help and by the time they do ask it seems as if the employees aren't "helpful". Second of all... Sales sections anywhere is always more unorganized in comparison to their feature products. You say it's getting smaller and smaller...ever think it's because customer just buy them all. Of course if you go to south coast you'll probably find more selection there...they're a MUCH bigger store so you can't compare. And lastly... Don't low-rate something for bad parking. It's not the store's fault that you can't find parking. Ever try going to the back and park where forever21 is. I park there all the time and I never have trouble finding parking. Maybe you should not try to find the closest parking spot to the entrance where of course EVERYONE is trying to park also. Cerritos mall parking really isn't that bad. You wanna talk about bad parking??? How about Belmont shores huh??? I think my point has been made. read more

I am a Banana Republic whore, I bought their clothes so much that I am a Luxe Card holder for life! Currently, you have to spend $800 each year to get a luxe card which enables you to basically get free shipping on anything! So let say you walk into a store and the item you're looking for is too small or too large to fit you. All you have to do is show them your Luxe Card, and a Banana Employee will find it in a different store (they even call different states) and ship it to you for free! It can even be like $1.99 socks, they'll still ship it to you, free of charge. More on the Luxe Card, like 5 years ago when they first introduced it, all you have to do is spend $800 a year at a BR, Old Navy or GAP, and you qualify for the card. You only had to do it once, But now, you have to spend $800 every year! Not only that, your points reset, so lets say you spend $799 on the 365th day, the following day, it will reset to $0! However, if you spend that much and get the Luxe Card, you basically can get anything you want at a very good deal. They also give you free tailoring, and all that. read more

I am a Banana Republic fanatic. While I'm an Urban Outfitter's girl at heart--it doesn't mull over too well at work. As much as I'd like to--I can't venture out to the one at the Grove or South Coast as much as I'd like too. This Cerritos BR has a decent collection, and a great sales section. I don't know if they get alot of volume (both of shipments and customers) but I always manage to find my size for both regular and sale priced items. The sales people are generally very friendly and helpful (there are always a few exceptions to the rule), but the manager is quite nice and helpful. Best thing about this location? It doesn't get overly crowded--which means I'm always able to get assistance when needed. Just got back from BR today with two beautiful blouses--both relatively new and now newly on sale. read more

This all make sense now that I read reviews from below. This store has the worst store manager I've ever encounter in my life. I don't know how she can be a store manager when she doesn't care about the customer experience at all. I went and return a dress and it slightly has make up stain on it which I didn't even noticed the time I made the purchase, so the manager refused to return it. I wipe it clean and she still refused to return it. She said it has been worn. First of all it's an all white dress, if it's been worn it would have been dirty. I went and return it at a different store, they return it with no question ask. Overall, she's just a horrible person and manager. She doesn't deserve to be a store manager, it's ruining the brand image. I will never go there ever again. read more

Banana gets only 4 stars because the clothing is "beneath" me, but not today I saw a sign for 40% of selected styles - I'm poor so I need to take advantage. Pants fit like a glove (or should I say muffin tin - the thing they place in the pan). Good price. 40% off is good, obviously free is better but this is business, not charity sucker (I will be getting progressively more mean to my readers in future reviews) Marvin was very helpful. Came since there was a 50% off coupon. Now with an income, I'm willing to pay a little more for clothes. The store is well kept and organized. Men and Women divided into their own sides. Did not take long to get a fitting room. The check-out line was pretty long but that is to be expected with the 50% off coupon. The staff is trained well to calm the "annoyed at having to wait in line" customers by saying "Thank you for waiting, we'll be right with you." It's more of a recognition of you are in line so it eases your frustration or impatience. Anyway the staff member who conducted my transaction was really friendly and peppy. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A RESPECTED CUSTOMER . Most, horribly offending, terrible customer service experienced here. i had come a week before last minute to pick out a couple things for an interview I had , it was closing time and I figured I didn't have much time to try things on so I picked out a couple items to try on at home and decided I would return what I didn't use back during business hours, the staff was great very helpful and nice I felt bad cuz I'm sure everybody wants to go home at closing time so I purchased three items one of which I ended up keeping for my interview and two of which I NOW tried returning a few days later..... Which brings me to my horrible experience , today I tried walking in to return my two items receipt and tags completely untouched, the lady at the counter inspected my items and had the most sarcastic tone and smirk on her face and said " hmm sorry we can accept your items they look like they've been worn" I respectfully returned her comment with " I literally only purchased these items to try them on at home to see if they would work for me, I promise you they have not been worn" and she replied with a nasty voice " yeah well you see the glitter here and the smudge here ?" ( As she pointed at item " that says you've worn it so we cannot accept it " I grew upset as she continuously made me feel like I was deliberately lying I swear to you these items were purchased tried on in my room that same next day and it wasn't until a few days later I tried to return it perhaps some glitter debris in my room flew into the bag but I promise you it was nothing severe or hardly even noticeable like I said it's been sitting in the same bag that I purchased it in so I didn't bother to check it , because obviously if you don't touch it what could possibly happen to it??? And the small smudges she was referring to was probably from when I pulled the dress off a little bit of my Foundation might have gotten on it , it was NOTHING that couldn't be dusted off she didn't have to be so rude and nasty and careless that she had to go and continue to INSULT me with this comment after asking her if she was calling me a liar she said " no I am not but i hardley doubt the person that sold it to you would sell it to you like that , she was trained to not to" I requested to speak to a manager and she CLAIMED said SHE WAS . her name is GEORGINA and whether or not she is the manager , banana republic should really consider the kind of quality service they entrust behind that counter , so RUDE so NASTY AND INSENSITIVE that makes me NEVER wanna come back I've never had a problem with them and I shop there quite often .... USED TO . She could have been more understanding , and if she really didn't think it was acceptable she could have apologized and said im sorry I believe you but unfortunately i can't accept them so sorry . I have to agree with some of the reviews, most of the employees in this particular store lack of personality, somehow they act like they hold a high position, they are cashiers for god sake! Went in this past Friday to find some casual pants. I was looking at the light colored Kentfield pants and saw a woman associate glaring at me. She did not even greet me, rather, she stared me up and down as if I was a thief or something. I went up to her to ask for her help; however, she was extremely rude and very unhelpful. When I asked for some help, she coldly replied with "What"... I asked her if the Kentfield pants shrink, and she didn't even know. Then she just briskly walked away to the cash register. Her name (which I saw on her name plate) is Alma and I think she was a manager because she was ordering people around. I have been working in retail for about 15 years now and I've never felt so unwelcomed at a store. The store was not in good condition either. Shirts were spilling out of their places, pants were falling out of their shelves, and a lot of items were not properly hung on the clothes hanger. None of their associates seemed to be tidying up the place, even though it was hardly busy at the time. Of course I will keep shopping at Banana Republic as I truly love the brand, but I will NEVER return to the Cerritos location due to the treatment I got from this woman. read more
