334% MARKUP OF ORIGINAL PRICE !!!!! I was told this outfit was a fixed price. Later, I found the exact same outfit from the same supplier online for $90, while I was charged $400. It's the SAME website linked to their location. I understand markups exist, but representing something as a fixed price when it clearly isn't feels misleading. I'm not surprised at the other bad reviews I'm reading here... I bought a gown from this store and they told me they were going to order a new one for me with my measurements from India. For reference I am under 100 pounds and just over 5 feet, so naturally I need a size XS. For this reason I was pleased when they told me they would customize a new one for me instead of taking in the size Medium from the store. Low and behold I come back 3 weeks later to find that it has the "M" size tag in it and does NOT fit me. Of course they have a no refunds policy so I was stuck with this outfit that I can't wear and out $500. Never coming back here again. read more

My cousin is getting married and the bride is Indian and so this was my very first time coming to a store like this and I have to say it will definitely be my last. The entire experience here was so awful and I had to write a review in hopes that the "owner" of the store will see it and do something about the woman who runs it. I had purchased a skirt from another place and I only needed a blouse to match it. I walked over to a rack of blouses and the woman running the store tells me ALL the blouses are 50% off. I narrowed it down to two options but I left my skirt in the car and wanted to see which one matched more. I told the employee I would be right back with the skirt and to hold those two tops for me. I came back less than 5 minutes later with the skirt and the top that matched also happened to be the only one that fit me anyway so I thought it worked out. I told her I would take it and the original price of the top was $80. I pull out my money to pay and she told me the top is full price. I told her just a few minutes ago you said it was half off. She then proceeds to tell me that only the top that DOESNT FIT ME is half off this one is full price because it's new. She saw that I was upset since she clearly lied to my face and offers me 20% off of the blouse that does fit me. She obviously knew I wasn't going to buy the one that didn't fit and so conveniently that one is marked down like she said but the one that fit me wasnt. I then asked her to honor what she said she not only denied that she ever said that (both me and my sister heard her tell us that) but then proceeds to say the owner is in India and she can't wake them up to ask them for 50% off the blouse she had already told us was on sale. Another employee in the store overheard what was happening and starts yelling at her to just give it to us for 50% off and she refused. At that point it was clearly about her having way too much power for someone who is really so insignificant. I let her know she's a liar and I want yelp to know as well. There are so many other places with nicer things that don't waste your time with lies. I went to Frontier and found much nicer quality and more important WAY BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE. Wow just wow. I decided to go inside this place to find my 18-month old a dress. She greeted us and told us there were not any dresses available yet for children so I decided to stick around and look for myself. She asked what I was looking for and I told her I was just looking for something simple for Diwali. All was going well and she even mentioned "I can custom make dresses to your liking . . ." And all was still going well UNTIL she added in: ". . .since we do not have extra larger sizes here in the store" I looked at her in disbelief and said "how would you know what size I wear ?" She's like "I didn't mean to" and then I left. She said bye to my husband but did not even have the decency to say bye to me. This is horrible customer service. You should have left it at "I custom make dresses" but you had to make an unneeded comment about not having extra larger sizes. Why is the primary focus on body image and sizing ?? Yes, I understand that this is a clothing store BUT I have been to plenty of other stores where they just said "let me know what size you're looking for and I'll search if we have it" OR "if you're interested in a particular dress, we can take your measurements" It came off as rude and condescending. It put a damper in my mood and made me think even deeper as to how many Indian women view women like me. As Indian women, we should learn to support one another and be kind to all women despite skin tone, weight or height. There is so much learning of etiquette required in this business. I really wanted to like this place but the customer service makes me avoid it like the plague. The store is modern designed and has enough clothing in it to not overwhelm me. The designs are beautiful. Some of the other stores in "central" Artesia look like they just unpacked every box sent to them from India. So it can be overwhelming to look for something without getting confused. I was excited about Meena Bazaar because the clothes and accessories are current and the prices are reasonable. However, here's what turns me off. The store is on the smaller side yet there are 8-10 customer service people in the store. No one needs that much attention. And it starts the second you walk in. I don't necessarily know what I'm looking for. Get back, Apple Jack! Secondly, and this is not to be mean, but the staff only speak in Hindi and other native languages right in front of customers who do not understand what they are saying. I find that rude. If you are helping me with an item, I'd like to understand what you are saying to me so we can both find the right item for me. This happens both times I've been in there. Third, once you do ask for help, they watch you like a hawk. It makes me feel uncomfortable like they don't trust me. For me, it hasn't been a good shopping experience. In fact, it's super stressful. This review is long over due . This was probably the absolute worst experience I've ever had in retail. This shop will make all the promises in the world to get a sale. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN. My sister-in- law came here to buy two dresses. So she bought two dresses with the reassurance from the store that once tailored the dresses will fit fine. Both needed minor alterations. She takes both dresses to the store's recommended tailor in a nearby store within walking distance. One of the two dresses actually couldn't be altered so she brought the dress back to Meena Bazaar and asked to have an exchange for a larger size. They agreed to exchange but said they had to order the larger and it would be available on Wednesday (4 days later). Mind you, my sister-in-law is coming from San Diego to Artesia, a two hour drive! She agreed to wait. She came back the following Saturday (3 days after it SHOULD HAVE BEEN ready) and the dress is still NOT ready. They then revealed the dress was coming from India... Listen, It's understandable if an order is going to take a while but its a courtesy to let the customer know that the wait time will be significantly longer. Instead they made an empty promise to have it ready in 4 days and it wasn't ready after a week. If they had just said it would need to be ordered from India to begin with, I think my sister in law would have decided to just return the dress and get a refund.. Which is probably why they LIED to say it'll be ready on an impossible timeline. Their excuses were endless and their stories were constantly changing with every sentence. I was appalled that this store had the NERVE to shamelessly lie to their customer's face and continued to keep doing it. Like this is all normal? Are you serious?! They said the dress was in India and then changed it to "Oh we have it Texas!".. Really? You have it in Texas now? when just a minute ago, you said it was still in India? I felt like we were going in circles for a good half hour before we put our foot down and said we want a refund. Getting the refund was even more difficult. They said they could do it but they needed permission from the owner, who is in India... who is asleep... So We asked for the store manager, who turned out to be the lady we were talking to. She said she couldn't do anything without the owner's permission. I'm sorry but if you're the store manager, your job is the manage your store and make decisions. The back and forth argument between us and store "manager" kept going on until it was creating a scene and people were looking at us. Came in and was treated very poorly by the lady working, she told my sister and I that all her blouses were 50% off. We told her we were trying to match a skirt and came back in with the skirt to see if the blouse would match. Once we told her what we wanted and she saw that we were interested in this particular blouse she told us that since the blouse we want is newer it's only 20% off. She blatantly lied to our faces once she saw our interest in this blouse, we're not dumb and we were completely aware of how she was trying to get more money out of us. She stated her hands are tied and the owner makes the rules on what's what is discounted. We asked her to contact the owner to see if he would honor the discount she initially told us and she lied stating the owner is in India and because of the time difference she's not contacting him. There was another lady working who was yelling at her in Hindi/English telling her to just give it to us for that price but she didn't want to budge thinking we would just pay that price. It's disgusting to think someone would treat a customer like that. Their selection was pretty awful and the clothes looked like very poor quality but we were honestly just so desperate to go home. I highly recommend shopping elsewhere - so many other shops like loveleen where they genuinely want to help you find something nice and their clothing is actually high quality. My family and I were shopping for a wedding and went to Meena Bazaar because we had never been before. We did not expect much, but were pleasantly surprised. We received exceptional customer service from Ruby who has helped us every time we visit. Not only has she pulled numerous pieces for us, but she is also kind and gives her honest opinion. Ruby is extremely knowledgeable about current fashions and trends and is most helpful person. We went in to Meena Bazaar to look for dresses for my niece for her wedding. The ladies were all incredibly helpful and were bringing dresses for my niece to try according to what she was looking for. They were great at helping her try them on and giving suggestions to my her as far as alterations and accommodations that could be made in order to be the perfect dress. I loved how organized and clean the store was and how helpful everyone was. We previously had gone to another store just up the street where our experience was completely different and left a bad taste in our mouth. Meena's had lots of beautiful outfits and accessories. We will definitely go back again as we get closer to the wedding to shop for our outfits and accessories. read more

Complete bogus company. A bunch of con artists acting like a business. Will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau shortly and finding other ways to get this point across. My now wife purchased an outfit for one of her wedding events and she went in to try it on. Even tho they had measured her, the blouse was still too big so they needed to have it redone. Two weeks prior to the wedding, still no answer, so she went in to see what was going on. The old blouse was sitting in some box, and they never got it resized. At this point she asked for her money back and of course, they denied it and said she would need to talk to a manager. Remember this is right before our wedding so instead of adding extra stress, she left the blouse there so that she could take it up with the manager after the wedding chaos was over. She ended up borrowing an outfit from elsewhere to fill the void. After the wedding, she finally got a hold of someone from India, who she thought was the manager. Low and behold, this was just some account manager (Mohit) who kept giving her the run around. Literally, kept saying he would need to talk to his manager but never coming back with an answer. He then had the nerve to offer store credit. Why the hell would she want store credit when she no longer has a need for an outfit and the store has terrible customer service? So it has literally been 2.5 months since she first got in touch with Mohit, and he never did connect her with his manager like he promised to do. She also has had no resolution to the issue, so currently has no outfit and no returned money. The kicker, Mohit has yet to respond on WhatApp since Feb 28 (exactly a month). So instead of handling the situation with good customer service, he has decided to just run away and hide. Long story short, as you can tell, I'm pissed. This is a sham of a business with people who provide garbage customer service. I would highly recommend that you stay away but it's your choice, maybe you'll get lucky. read more

Just as mentioned in some the other reviews, the lady in scarf is absolutely the worst and body shaming sales person ever! Firstly she did NOT wear a mask when i entered the shop. And didn't even care about staying away from me to main distance. Plus when I wanted to try something she asked me my size. And I said 38 or 36 (i am in postpartum stage), but she was like no you are more like 40 or 42 ( after checking me out top to bottom)! I read bad reviews about her previously, but thought of giving her shop a chance (i love Meena bazaar india). But it's a shame on Meena Bazaar, this lady is spoiling the name and loosing customer. First of all their customer service is awful. They'll push you to buy, even though I'd purchased a few times from them since they have nice collection. But couple of times I went there & tried a few & nothing was looking good so the manager ask the lady who helped me pick some of my size dresses if we were buying so in a rude tone she said "no, they aren't going to buy they're just trying". The employees should learn some manners & make customers comfortable. This happened a few months back. But every time I go there they have someone new working there with same attitude.It's only their iPad records let them know that I am a regular there. Very poor customer service. Be careful the so called manager will sweet talk you during sale about no hassle exchange. Will tell you they have stores worldwide (just to convince) to make feel you're buying from a genuine store. If you go try exchange (not return), they will flat out deny. Tone will be completely opposite, even their website says no issues with exchange, WILL NOT LISTEN to you. The Manager will lie saying the Owner have just informed them to not exchange. Please don't get fooled. There are stores in vicinity that would not play these tricks. Do not visit to become a victim. Again this post is to help you as we felt cheated by trusting them as exchange is standard practice and #1 for customer satisfaction. Don't deserve 1 star even. read more

Going to prewedding ceremony for a friend and this was one of the stores she recommended for sarees, pantsuits, etc. I thought a pantsuit would be easiest for me, being non-Indian and unfamiliar with the intricacies of wrapping a saree. There were so many beautiful pieces to choose from. After trying on a few items, I found exactly what I was looking for - a gorgeous pink, orange & gold embroidered pantsuit with leggings and matching dupatta, which I can wear for multiple formal occasions. I also purchased matching earrings, bangles and evening bag. Love the one stop shopping! All prices are set, so no need or hassle of haggling/bargaining. The store manager (Nimi) and associates (Rubi and Meena) were all incredibly helpful and attentive. It was a lovely shopping experience. I will definitely return for another purchase!! read more

I came here to buy an outfit for my wedding reception because I liked that they had fixed prices that were reasonable. I found an outfit I really liked but needed it custom made because they didn't have my size. I ordered it 2 months before the date I told them I needed it by, and was told it would arrive straight to my home after 4-5 weeks. When 6 weeks passed and I hadn't heard anything, I called them. They said they would call me the next day after checking with their supplier, but never called. When I called again, I was told it had shipped that day and would arrive after 8 days. It never came. I called again multiple times and kept getting the same answer. When I asked for a tracking number, they told me they didn't have one. When I still didn't have the outfit 1 week before the day I needed it, I called again and explained that my event was in a week. They reassured me it was on its way. Two days later, I got a call while I was at work asking me to look at pics of measurements and to verify if they were correct before they shipped it. I didn't have a measuring tape so I told them to verify it with the measurements they took. Two days before my event, I got a call that my outfit arrived to their shop rather than my home. I went to the store to try it on. The top was so large and short that it would show my entire bra when I lifted my arms. When I showed them this, they told me not to lift my arms! I told them this was unacceptable. They then tried to charge me to have a tailor fix it! I refused because they took the measurements incorrectly. They then had a tailor fix the outfit. So I didn't get the outfit until the night before the event! That was after 10 phone calls and them lying to me 4 times that the outfit was on its way. Their customer service is horrible. The outfit itself was beautiful which is the only reason I gave them 2 stars. I would not buy anything here if you need a custom order. I usually do my Indian clothes shopping from Artesia. This time, I happened to go to this store. I found a suit, pink in color, for a reasonable price. I TRIED IT ON at the STORE, and it fit perfectly. I went home and ironed the EXACT SAME DRESS since I would be wearing it to a sweet sixteen party. Strangely enough, the suit was now tight. I ripped the top 3 times trying to fit my body into this suit that had shrunk, only after ironing it! I went back to the store after two-three days and explained what had happened. Both the manager and employee had no explanation to offer about the fabric shrinking. Apparently it had happened before! The store "manager" argued that suits shrink after WASHING them and refused to listen to my lengthy explanation that I had IRONED it and not washed. After more than twenty minutes of arguing (thank goodness the store was closed), the manager and employee decided to call the owner in India. They promised (lied) and said they would call me back the next day. Almost two days later, I still have had ZERO calls or even a email. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT SHOP @ THIS STORE! read more

Do not buy clothes from here. I bought an outfit in November, the fitting was awful they told me they wouldn't take it back even though I had receipt etc. I then went back to the store again to speak to someone and then they finally agreed to have it remade. They then fobbed me off and basically I still haven't received my items. It's terrible customer service, I keep calling and I don't hear anything back from them. So now they have my money and I don't have my clothing. I see people have written some good things, but I feel this sort of customer service is terrible and it was for my daughters reception too. I have to spend more money and get another outfit made somewhere else. Wasted time and money. I definitely will not be coming back and would not allow my friends or family to purchase anything from here.
