Fortunately mines did not need any alteration, just add a pretty high heel shoe and I'm on my way to my nephew's Sangeet! Hooray!! We were looking for a lehenga and a kurta jacket set for the mehndi event and reception for a wedding we're attending in India. When I first came to the store, the employee told me they mostly do custom orders, but have some samples (maybe some canceled orders?) that are discounted. I had gone to about 4 stores before this and immediately noticed the dresses here were higher quality than what I had seen in the other stores. The prices also reflected the higher quality. I ended up trying on a lehenga that was slightly too big and too long for me. They have an in-house seamstress who quoted me $60-80 in alterations. It probably showed on my face that I thought "No!", because then they suggested I just wear heels, tie the waistband tighter to avoid altering the skirt. The seamstress took another look and concluded that only 1 place in the blouse has to be taken in and they can include that in the price of the dress (on sale for $300, originally over $700). I looked at another 5 stores after this and decided to go back and try this lehenga on again. I decided to splurge on this one and in the time it took me to get dressed and pay, the seamstress had already finished the alterations! Talk about efficiency! I'm so glad I splurged on this dress because I got so many compliments at the wedding. Everyone couldn't believe I got a dress of this quality in the states. They told me I could definitely have gotten a similar dress for 1/2 the price in India, but considering not having to stress about finding an outfit a day before the event in a foreign country, the price was not bad at all. We came back another day for the kurta jacket set after trying on a few options at other stores and the fabric here was softer and easier on the skin. So we decided to pay a little more here for the kurta set as well. I definitely recommend this place if you can find a lehenga you like on the ready made rack. There's lots of ready made options for kurtas. It's pricier than the other stores but worth it in my opinion. They also sell accessories and shoes. They were similar in pricing as the other stores on the same street. We bought a pair of shoes here. I just wore jewelry I already had. This store is also spaced out nicely inside and was more comfortable to shop in. There's street parking and a public parking lot nearby. I think it's free the first hour then $1/hr after that. read more

Do you recommend this business? Yes and no. I got my wedding Lenga from here and it was beautiful and very well priced. I'm extremely happy. However, when it comes to getting custom pieces or ordering bulk pieces, this place can be hit and miss. The staff is not very helpful and is a little iffy with their command of the English language. The owner is extremely helpful and knowledgeable but is very ready to say yes even if she cannot accommodate your needs. Be sure when you come in here. Know what you want and don't deviate from that. Ask a lot of questions. Some Indian shops are quick to say yes but slow to deliver and I'm afraid this might be one of them. read more

I stopped in here on a whim after a clothing store I'd shopped at previously (with a very similar name) had confusing service. I was pretty forlorn by the treatment there and began aimlessly wandering the streets worried I wouldn't find what I needed... Enter Sari Palace, a beautiful, bright store that welcomed me in with open arms. I was immediately helped by two women who were so wonderful in asking questions, bringing choices, and then of course, helping me find the perfect fit. I never once felt judged although I was a fish out of water and what's more was how friendly the other customers in the store was as well. After being complimented on the sari I tried on by multiple other women in the store, I knew I had to get it! Definitely did not have such an experience my first time around and it made me feel so wonderful. The amazing thing is they also have a tailor on site so it could not be any more seamless (pun intended) to set yourself up with everything you need in one convenient spot! Although the prices are indeed steeper than its competition down the street, I would highly recommend this spot for those who have no idea what they're looking for like me. We bought pretty much all of our wedding outfits for bride, groom, and sister of the bride at Sari Palace. We started looking for our wedding outfits in Artesia about 10 months before our wedding, which was quite early, but we were so excited to start looking. We knew going to India, for bridal outfits especially, would be difficult. When we happened to walk into Sari palace we knew our search was over. The service we experienced was unparalleled and they had such a beautiful selection. Additionally, the price felt appropriate for the quality we were getting without going to India. For the groom's sherwani we wanted a custom color and Heeral went above and beyond and got us multiple samples to get just the right color. The result was exactly what we wanted. When our outfits were ready, the aunties were amazing at checking the fit and altering as needed. Everything looked amazing. I am glad that we started as early as we did because there was no stress about whether everything would be ready in time and we were able to have access to the widest selection and customization. However, Sari Palace always gave us accurate timelines for when things would be ready and turnaround times were as quick as we could have hoped for. We were not even able to experience their new bridal boutique space, which looks wonderful, because it didn't exist yet, so I am so happy for future brides who will be able to experience the new space. read more

The first time I walked into Sari Palace was 4 weeks after giving birth to my son. I was in need of an outfit for my sister in law's wedding and was required to get something in gold. I made the mistake of going to Divine Glo first (see previous review). Everything about this place was amazing. From their high quality products right down to their outstanding customer service. I came in to their store and explained my situation. They did not press me or pressure me about it. No questions asked. From that moment on, their sole purpose was to help me find a new saree for my budget. They truly helped me. They were so patient with me, especially because I am so picky and indecisive. They let me try on all that my heart desired and did not hover over me like other places. They let me take my time to make my decision. This store is very professional and they obviously know what they are doing. At Sari Palace, I purchased a beautiful blue saree. It is made of high quality material. There is no stitch or thread that is out of place! Every detail and cut is beautiful. It is absolutely perfect. It came with a very soft, cotton-like under-skirt that has a metal clasp to close it when wearing. No cheap Velcro here. My blouse has the same great detail and quality as the wrap. It is currently being altered, so I will update with photos when I receive it. I really appreciate this place. Not only did they sell high quality products, but they were also so very understanding of my budget due to my previous experience with another store. They even sold me matching bangles to my saree in my price range. I wish I had known about this place before going to the first store I ever went to. I really truly appreciate the people here and the quality products they stand behind. I purchased a saree, the under-skirt, alterations, and bangles all for $138+tax. Compared to the $190 I spent on crap at the other store for just a saree that I will not even be wearing at all for the wedding I'm attending. So that's money down the drain. You make mistakes along the way in your life that you may regret, but sometimes they just point you towards the right people and you're thankful of where it leads you to. And a plus! The saree was neatly folded, wrapped, and packaged. And it came in a soft cloth quality tote vs the other store I went to that threw the $200 saree in a cheap plastic bag. Sari Palace has been a godsend on this earth for me. My fiance and I live in Arizona, and when we got engaged, it was understood that I planned on wearing a lehenga for our wedding. I had no idea how much lehengas cost, what the process was like to purchase them, etc., so when we went to LA for a trip, we stopped by Artesia so that I could gather my bearings and be more informed about what purchase I was making. Initially, I figured $1500 might be good enough for what I liked, so I stopped in a store down the street from Sari Palace and told them I was looking for a lehenga. It was a weekday, and no one else was in the store, so it was no problem. However, the woman acted like I was a major inconvenience to her. When she asked me what styled I LIKED (not what I could afford,) I showed her a photo of a mint green Sabyasachi lehenga and her immediate response was "UM This is a Sabyasachi lehenga, and you definitely can't get this with $1500." I wasn't asking for this specific piece; I was showing her what style I liked. Anyway, while showing me lehengas, a group of women walk in stating that their daughter is getting married in six months and needs help. She turned all of her attention away from me and immediately began helping them. The family asked her in Hindi if I still needed her help, and she replied "no, she's not going to buy anything anyway," not realizing I understood Hindi. I walked out and went to Sari Palace. I ended up at Sari Palace with my $1500 budget, and Heeral was so amazing and legitimately walked me through the process, showed me what a $1000 lehenga looked like, then $1500, then $2500, and so on. While doing this, she unwittingly showed me a $3000 lehenga that I fell in love with. I scheduled my fitting with her and came back months later to go through the process of getting measured for it. There was a point in which Heeral sent me a photo of my blouse, and I sent her a long message stating that I was worried that it had been done incorrectly in regards to the length of the sleeve. I ended up being in the wrong, but even then, Heeral was totally, without any hesitation, willing to bend over backwards and have it done again the way I wanted it to if I said I didn't want it that way any longer. I came back in May to try on my lehenga for the final time. Everyone was so respectful of me and made me feel so welcome during my final fitting that I am actually tearing up a little writing this. I will never shop anywhere else when I am in need of Desi clothing. I can rest assured that Sari Palace will always have my back. HEERAL IS THE BEST!!! I don't know what I would have done if Sari Palace wasn't open when I was starting my wedding shopping. I knew I didn't want to head to India for wedding shopping unless I had to and had visited the other stores in Artesia previously. So when I walked into Sari Palace for my bridal outfit, I was very surprised to see so many beautiful outfits and didn't have to haggle on price. I ended up buying my wedding lengha on my 2nd visit to the shop; it was the first one I ever tried on at Sari Palace. Heeral has a great eye for fashion and design and has such an easy going personality. She pulled out outfits that she knew I'd like in my budget and gave me options to try to see if something different would suit me. I ended up with a beautiful red and white lengha that was made for me. I needed the blouse remade and they were able to get it back to me in less than a month! Heeral was in constant communication while I was waiting for it to come in. When I tried it on, I tried my whole look on and another customer wanted the same one. I fell in love with it even more Since my outfit was custom (most of the bridal outfits are), she couldn't provide her with the same one, but the customer did end up with a similar outfit that she purchased. I loved my wedding lengha so much and was so happy. My husband got a kurta for mendhi night, his shoes and the best man and groom's men kurtas as well. Again turnaround time was super fast! And these were custom designed using Heeral's guidance. They turned out beautiful and fit them all perfectly without alterations. Other friends were able to get outfits here for the wedding and they were all so unique and fit them like a glove. I also got an outfit that I used for Grahshanti in the prettiest green. I also decided to get my reception outfit here. I took an existing light pink 2 piece chanya choli and made it into an Indo-Western dress. Full of crystals and in teal. It was a challenge but I knew what I wanted. When it came in, it was breathtaking. And it fit again perfectly. All that needed alterations were the zippers replaced. Maya the tailor does amazing work! I have also bought jewelry, bindis, and bangles here. Heeral did such a great job outfitting me and my friends and family that I am a bit sad that I don't have another occasion to go shopping at Sari Palace. Prices are fair and Heeral loves a challenge.
