Best little dress shop in Artesia! I needed a saree for a party. I found this shop after looking around online and had an idea of what I wanted. Once at the shop, I wasn't prepared for the sheer richness of fabrics, embroidery and beautiful designs. The woman working was amazing! After telling her the nature of event she aimed me toward appropriate section and pulled her pick for me out. I stubbornly asked to see 7 or 8 more in colors I preferred. However, after trying my favorites on, I purchased her first choice. She clearly has a stylists eye. It was stunning!! I received compliments all night and loved the matching trim on blouse and saree. I also purchased a dress for my daughter (who wasn't with me on shopping day). It did not fit. The next day I returned to the shop with my daughter. No questions asked, the owner exchanged the dress for another, larger size. I will happily find reasons to come back and shop!! read more

My best friend got married not too long ago and she purchased our bridesmaid dresses, here. Coming to shops like this, there is always a play on bargaining. While the woman who assisted us said she was giving us the best offer we could find anywhere, the cost per dress was still pretty pricey. The reasons for the one star are as follows: 1) Pricey and poor final product: if anyone pays a lot of money for something, at least the product should be good. There were 4 dresses total. The sewing on the tops was sloppy. I could've done a better job using a needle and thread. Some of the dresses had padding in the bust area, while others did not. Some had strings to tie on the back, while others did not. 2) Poor integrity: I tried on my dress which appeared to be long. I brought it back to the shop for altering. They had me try it on and the woman who has been assisting through this process said the length was good and suppose to look like that. I took her word for it and left. On the wedding day, we had the groom's mother and aunts help us put on the dresses. A lot of pins needed to go in to make the dresses fit right. In consensus, they all noted that the shop did a really bad job on the dresses. And here's the kicker - remember when my dress was too long? One of the aunts told me that the other bridesmaid dress was too short. We ended up swapping it and it fit a lot better. So, the woman at the shop who told me the dress was suppose to look like that lied. Perhaps she did not want to bother with altering it, but that is bad business. The beading on the sari came out really pretty so that was a positive. I would not recommend this place. It's one thing if there were issues with the dresses and this was attended to properly, but to be dishonest, that is a no go for me. read more

I am very disappointed in this place they made my alterations too tight and the owner was unwilling to give me a refund. The owner also refused to have my dresses ready in time for an event even though I told her I needed it by a certain date. I wasted my money for a dress I'm unable to wear! This is an amazing store. I have been coming here since March 2012. They outfitted my daughter's wedding party, friends and family. Now we are having a wedding lehnga customized for my soon to be sister in law. I have had fabric brought from India stitched into beautiful outfits that fit perfectly the first time. The tailors are incredible. The prices are amazing. And the jewelry makes your head spin. I love this place!!!! Thank you Auntie. read more

This has to be my favorite place of all! I've been searching for my wedding lehnga everywhere and I couldn't be find the right gown. I went to numerous of stores but most of them didn't let me try it on too! I had to buy it first before trying it on or if I did try it on ,they want me to buy it right away or they just had a bad attitude... Some places really bad attitude.. :/ but I didn't give up! The hunt was still on..! Then I drove down the street and I saw many beautiful dresses on display.. I walked in and such a surprise! All the staff is so wonderful! nice and welcoming! Their service is to help u find the right gown ! No matter how many u try on! Also they work with your budget! I was also afraid I couldn't meet the prices.. But the owner is so nice. She had a huge shelf of one-piece sari's, asked me my budget, favorite colors, and plucked a couple off the shelf. Both were beautiful. She tailored it on the spot (for free). Where do I begin about this business? I'm still a little amazed as to how this "boutique" has such good reviews. NEVER, EVER, will I EVER do business with these people again. Not only are they a bunch of liars, but they will do whatever they can just to get money in their pockets; regardless if the customer is happy or not!! I visited this boutique in November 2015 while shopping around the boutiques of Artesia. I'm from Sacramento, so don't really know much about the boutiques in the LA area. I was a little skeptical to try this boutique as I had heard from the other boutiques in the area that Decor Boutique only used cheap material & was very disorganized. I still gave them the benefit of the doubt, because they were willing to meet my needs in the colors that I wanted. This was the first store my family & I visited as it was the first boutique closer to where we had parked. Initially Rizwana stated that the suit would be around $650 for my size (46), which included getting it tailored, shipped, etc. I told Rizwana that I would shop around & be back. After shopping around, I came back to Décor Boutique & told Rizwana that I was interested in purchasing my suit from her. Now, the price increased to $850. I asked her how come the price had increased by $200, her reply "Because it's going to take more material to make a bigger size." Hmmmm, interesting! Because when she told me the $650 price, that WAS for a size 46 suit. So now, 2 hrs later, the price went up by $200 because you need more material? Fishy. This should have been my cue to RUN...run as fast as I could & take my business elsewhere. Anyway, I still went with this boutique, & placed my order (my mistake). I requested to have a blue blouse made w/orange lengha. During the initial measurements & fitting, Rizwana was able to quickly tell me that my bridal suit will be made exactly how I want it, & that she would not disappoint me. She assured me that they've done plenty of custom bridal suits & know what they're doing, & have great tailors that will make my suit look one of a kind. I paid the deposit (around $433), assuming that my suit was in good hands & I'd get what I asked for. Keep in mind, this was in November 2015. I was scheduled to pick up my suit & pay the balance the week of February 18, 2016, which Rizwana also wrote on the receipt. On January 29th, I called the boutique to check the status of the suit. Rizwana again assured me that everything was on time & as scheduled, & the suit was in the process of getting tailored. Mid-February, my mom insisted that I call the boutique to check the status one final time before we made a 400 mile trip (one-way) to pick up the suit. Again, I called Rizwana on February 15th & she stated that the suit was ready for pick-up. I told Rizwana that I would be in town that weekend to pick-up the suit. On February 18th, Rizwana calls my house panicking, stating that the lengha & dupatta arrived, but the blouse did NOT. The blouse would arrive on Feb 22nd & if we could come then to pick it up. I asked her for a tracking number, which she couldn't provide me because it was "against company policy." This is when everything just went down-hill. Not only did I book a hotel to stay overnight, but I had also taken the day-off. I was just astonished to how easy it was for a merchant to call a consumer, and ask to postpone a trip because THEY messed up & couldn't hold up their end of the bargain. I told Rizwana that I needed the suit, & I was coming to pick it up that weekend, no questions asked. I also told her that if they couldn't provide me with the suit, then I need a full refund of my deposit. On February 19th, Rizwana called & stated that the blouse would arrive on Saturday & the entire suit would be at her store, and I could pick it up at any time (so all of a sudden the blouse will arrive on time? Hmmmm). On Saturday, upon arriving to Artesia, I called Rizwana and informed her that I was in town and on my way to pick up my suit. Rizwana asked me if I could pick-up the suit at 430pm since it was sent to the "steamers" to get it "steam-cleaned." She begged me to come at 430pm and promised that the suit would be there. At 445pm, I showed up to the boutique, and just as I had guessed, the suit wasn't there. As I sat there patiently waiting for Rizwana to tell me what's going on, the whole time she was in the back room on her phone, speaking to someone regarding my suit. Not once did she make eye contact w/me, let alone have the courtesy to apologize about all the inconvenience. Sadly, this experience did not go as planned & I had to send my suit back for a refund. They refused the shipment & refused to give me a refund. I ended up getting a refund thru my bank, & the suit was shipped back to me because they refused it! Thankfully I got my money back, now I have to figure out what to do with the suit!! This is a great store. They have a wonderful selection and the prices seemed reasonable. My mother and I bought sarees here.They were able to convert them to something we non-Indian women could put on in 2 minutes. It took a rather long time to have them do it (close to a month), and they didn't fit quite right the first time (they were still too long). But they redid them and now they fit great. I also bought a beautiful anarkali, which they altered to fit on the spot. (It was a little tight in the bodice.) They're very friendly there. We felt like part of the family. I loved that when I called to see if our clothes were ready, they recognized my voice!! Next time I go to Artesia to shop, this will be my first stop. My husband bought a kurta. He's a big guy, and it had to be special ordered, using his measurements. When it arrived, it fit! He just needed the sleeves shortened, which they did on the spot. No extra charge for the alterations. read more

Dealing with the clothing shops in little India is the worst! So the negative review is very typical of the shops on pioneer. But we happened to have a decent experience here. It wasn't perfect but it wasn't as bad as it could be. I wanted a purple and cream lengha wedding dress. You can't just get that off the rack. So I was eyeing this cute pink and aqua dress. And they offered to make me a copy in the colors I wanted. We balked bc it was out of our price range. But since we went back several times to look at it they made us a super doable offer considering all the other ones I liked were around 1k! We requested mostly just changes to the color of the fabric. They quoted us a time in 3 months or so and they were relatively on time, about 3 months before my wedding. I had a shitty experience elsewhere in the hood where the shop took huge leaps in artistic license in trying to make copies of outfits. So I was so scared to see what they made for me. It was actually quite nice, especially since they did up the embellishments a bit to make it look more like a wedding dress even at the discounted price. I only had an issue with the fabric they chose for the top (velour :() but I could swallow that considering how bad our experience was at another shop. read more
