Okay, so this review is based off of the Lancome counter. Not the entire store. I have been a Lancome customer since I was 15. I have very pale and sensitive skin. I have tried Clinique (too dark), Estee Lauder (again too dark, MAC (too cakey and their foundation has a scent to it). Lancome is my love and my life. This particular counter has a certain female worker Im not fond of. Every time I encounter her, she tries to sell me on EVERYTHING. And tries to get me to buy two of whatever the hell it is that I originally came there for. Knock it off! If it werent for the asian lady that works there that smoothed things over for me I would not return to this location. I should gave caught the womans name. She has dark hair, wears glasses, and usually has her hair tightly pulled back. Long face. She drives me nuts. Anytime I see her working from now on Ill be asking for someone else or just come back another time. Every time I'm in this store & need to try something on the dressing rooms seem like they have no air conditioning. Seriously? We are in Arizona. We are in the ladies department. After shopping through the store and ready to pay for my 2 blouses, I was 2nd in line where I waited for 15 minutes while the cashier returned over $1000 worth of prom dresses for the customer at the counter. I asked if there was another cashier, she pointed across the aisle. I walked past 4 different cashier stands with no one there to help. I ended up back in the same line where the cashier was still waiting on the same customer. Unbelievable. This us supposed to be one of the higher end department stores, it will be a cold day in he'll before I return to Macy's. I need to shop at Macy's more often! My dad buys my Christmas presents every year here, and I'm always so happy with the quality of gifts I receive. This year, I got a Michael Kors black quilted leather purse and a Guess black coat with velvet trim and a silk lining. The coat was rather small for a medium (couldn't zip over the bust), so we opted to stop in-store to return. The sales lady I approached was nothing but helpful! She looked around for a minute, then offered to search their inventory on the computer! I love when stores have that ability! She told me there was one large left in stock. We continued pilfering through the racks, coming up empty handed. She then told me that a lady had just tried it on and was thinking of buying it. I talked with the lady and, after about 15 minutes of deliberation, she decided to give it to me. We swapped the coats and I was on my way! I also wanted to buy this adorable Lucky Brand gold bangle I found in the jewelry section. A sign hung above the display that said "Lucky Gifts 50% off", which would have taken the bracelet from $30 to $15. Doable. At the register however, it wasn't showing the discount, to which the jewelry clerk informed me that it was only certain items (in the blue boxes). If it's a very particular discount, why is it hanging over the entire Lucky section of jewelry? I'd love to see their discounts and specials be less specific and more general. They'd get a lot more of my money that way! read more

I first was online to look at mattresses they had. I found one I was interested in so I called the store to see if it was in stock. No one answered for over 10 minutes so I gave up. I went in store to find out if they had it and no wonder no one answered...there was only one lady working the entire furniture department. There was another lady that needed help about the same time I did. The lady working rudely said "I'll be right with you". It is possible to smile sometimes!! I just got sick and tired of a. buying cotton knit shirts, washing them 3-4x and they shrink up to midriff size and 2. not getting any help either finding something in my size and getting no direction from anyone about the products offered at the store. They moved everything around in the women's clothing area, and my favorite Karen Scott section is now so downsized in a very tiny area, when before there were so many racks in a large area! Not a fan of the customer service here. A lady at a different Macy's helped me with a Lancôme foundation for my face. Told me if I wasn't happy I could always come back, so I did because it was a shade too light after my first application. I came to this Macy's to have the right color pick out for me. Normally it would be an even exchange but the lady made me pay the difference because at the time I purchased, week or two ago, they were having a promotion and she wouldn't do an even exchange. It was the sale's fault for picking the wrong color for my skin to begin so I don't understand why i could not get an even exchange. The lady gave me no explanation and was rude. read more

I just left the shoe department and omg it was a mad house. There were so many people but a very nice lady named Deborah was going above and beyond to make sure everyone got what they needed. Purchased a Beauty-rest mattress, had questions after the mattress delivery and contacted the furniture department. Wanted to speak with the sales representative who assisted me with the purchase and she was out Ill. I was routed to a lady who identified herself as the furniture department manager. She started off being defensive. With every question I asked, she became more irritated. I asked what was causing her reaction. At that point she was out right rude and disrespectful, saying she was sorry if I didn't like her voice, LOL. I asked for her last name and her reply, "I don't have to give that to you!" I started to think, surely she wasn't a department manager, and speaking to a customer that way. I told her I would leave a message for the sales lady I originally worked with to contact me. The very next day the original sales rep contacted me, she answered my questions. Following that, I called the store manager Who promptly returned my call and I voiced my concerns and she assured me the manager was new to the department and possibly needed further training in dealing with customers and situations. read more

I am familiar with Macy's coupons, as I get them ALL the time. And they always look like the first picture attached, with 10 billion exclusions, including LAST ACT. I know coupons do not work with that department. However, I recently received a special coupon in the mail(pictured on the right) that does not include all of the exclusions from the other coupons. So I tried to use it on my sale items purchase. Emily, who was my cashier, was extremely unqualified and had no idea what was going on, and was quite rude to me when we asked for a manager to speak with. She called one on the phone, and briefly explained the situation, hung up and then told us the same thing. Yes, I get that last act doesn't work with coupons, but PLEASE explain to me why the coupons say different things. It doesn't make sense!! Finally had to go hunt down a manager, who was just as unhelpful as Emily, just to here her say the SAME exact thing, with no explanation. "Sorry, last act doesn't work with coupons" YES! I understand, I get it!!!! But this coupon did NOT list Last Act as an exclusion!! They were so rude, so NOT helpful. They have no idea what their coupons exclude and use the same lame excuse for every situation. They wouldn't budge and let me use the coupon or anything. I've met Macy's employees in the past, who have nicely given us extra discounts even on already sales items. But these teenagers in charge at this location have no idea how customer service works. As much as I love Macy's, as I am a credit card holder through them, I don't think I could go back to this location if this is the customer service I will have to deal with when an issue arises. I purchased a 10 pc calphalon pots and pan set. The next day when I was opening it I realized they gave me the wrong set. I returned to the store to exchange the set. They inform me that they no longer carry that set, it is being replaced by another set. They would not sell me the display, would not offer to call other stores to see if they had them in stock. Basically stood there letting me know I was screwed. Another associate said you can't even get it on line. So I left very angry. I decided to call other stores, guess what, got help from another store that was able to order it on line and have it sent to my house. Very poor customer service in my opinion. Really don't hit the rest of the store , so I am not a detailed reviewer of Macy's , I will tell you, I will take Dillard's cosmetic department , any day over Macy's,but they had the special, so there I was .The reason I say this, is because they cater to people who are dressed well, usually on weekends , I am in goth, and get ignored. There's a reason why Macy's is going down hill fast. I went to buy some dress pants that I saw were on sale. On almost every rack, none of the pants were in order by sizes. They were scattered in no particular order creating a long time finding the correct size. Even the sizes listed on the hangers didn't match what was on the pants. Needed a belt too. Same thing. All belts were unorganized and it took a while to pick one out. Seems like no one cares about merchandizing. Lastly, the young cashier didn't even fold my pants properly into the bag creating more wrinkles I had to get out later. He didn't even bother saying thank you after I purchased $150 of product but rather promptly walked away like he didn't give a shit. Pretty rude! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had multiple sales reps walk right past me to ask how another customer was doing and if they had any questions or needed help. Not one person could ask me how I was doing, if I needed help or if I had any questions. Finally one girl around the benefit counter walked up and asked. I was able to ask my questions and make my purchase. Note: I work retail and know customer service. I also spent about 1 hour in the store and maybe talked to a total of two people. I also couldn't get any of the women working at the make up counters to notice me. But if any one else walked up, they were served. read more

Today while shopping at Macy's at 4:10 i the kitchen area upstairs we had the worst experience I believe we have ever had while shopping in this store. We are Macy's card holders and spend at least 400$ a month, just checked our statement. We had picked up two coasters and they didn't have a sticker on them so we grabbed one like it to show at the register. The girl was SLOW almost like she was on something. Didn't say hello, if he needed anything else, etc. she was hideous. A horrid hair do and mustache with gaping holes in her ears. I believe there should be some dress code. Anyways, she said she would use the sticker price today and we said okay thank you. Then she rang them up wrong and over changed us. Didn't listen to us when we told her the location of where we found them, walked so slow with absolutely no urgency to care in the world. We decided it was taking so long and even another equally incapable person helped her as well. What the hell would she be missing trying to find a sticker that was $2.50. We were so annoyed we ended up leaving. They didn't care or try to stop us or have any concern. This is Macy's. We hold you to a higher standard than Walmart. After driving 15 miles to get my watch sized i was told that there was NO ONE on the floor that could help me and I'd have to come back another day. I should have known that he was just lazy and didn't want to do it. I left fronting a smile saying I'll return. As i was making my 15 mile drive i kept thinking about how strange it was. So i called and i spoke to manager Sue. She confirmed that there is more than one person that can help me. While shopping for my friends wedding I went to their registry and selected Belgique Hard Anodized 11 Piece Cookware Set, but when I went to check out the price did not match. My check out price verses my cart price was over $20 higher ($20 plus tax) I called customer service and had to argue with them for 20 minutes and let the representative know she was being recorded (love that app) before they would even try to be helpful. Finally they honored the advertised price but not until I pushed the issue pretty hard. VERY UNHAPPY with my experiance with Macy's. read more

Shopping for jeans, I had to visit four different fitting rooms around the first floor before I found one that I could fit a stroller into. A week later, I had to return them, and bought a top. Upon checking out, I was entering my email address for an e-mailed receipt and the cashier pushed a button to kick me out of that option and said we need to do a paper one because she has a line. The customer service at this location has gone downhill fast. I shopped here a week ago during a sale where men's clothes were But One, Get Two Free. After waiting in line 45 minutes in the women's department to check out, the items rang up wrong. The cashier told us that we would need to go upstairs to the men's department to adjust the price because she could not change the price of men's items in a different department. What? After going back upstairs and waiting in line another 30 minutes, we got up to the men's register. The clerk informed me that Buy One, Get Two Free merchandise could not be mixed and matched. I showed him the sign on the table that clearly said, "MIX AND MATCH." After a whole bunch of back and forth, I finally got the prices corrected and left. Unfortunately, I had to take one of the items back today. When the first cashier tried to make the return, it was ringing up that it had already been returned (probably due to the price adjustment they had to make a week ago). After SEVERAL different employees were brought over to the register, I was informed that I could not get anything back for that item. Why? Because it was purchased on a BOGO deal and it had $0.00 next to it on the receipt. I was told there was "nothing they could do." So an item I had purchased a week ago, unworn, tags on, receipt in hand, could not be returned. The nail in coffin was when the THIRD cashier gave me her advice as to what I should do: "You should probably just donate it or something." read more

I love Macy's. I have been to them all over. They have great specials and sales. This one is an odd one though. It seems forgotten and a little run down. It need to head over to a doctor in Scottsdale and get a face lift. The carpets are old and stained. It doesn't seem well organized. No kids shoes! I wish it offered more upscale selection. I love ordering clothes online on clearance! Awesome prices. If they don't fit right or I don't like them I simply return them to my local Macy's. It's an easy and, admittedly a lazy, way to shop but I love it! I took one star away because I find their women's plus size clothing to be very hit or miss in terms of sizing and fit. Cashier was the worst. Racist is all I can say. Before even scanning an item she asked "How are you paying for this?" as if she had a right to know. Then she did not allow us to use our coupons that came in the mail because the coupons "excluded" out items. Nowhere on the coupon did it say that our item brands were excluded. Then as we were trying to decide how to proceed she said "You need to decide how your gonna pay, because we have people waiting."
