The 3 rd floor has been changed up a bit and it looks nice. I wish they would put new flooring in and add more help and open all registers and dressing rooms during busy times. Prices are very reasonable and the new men's golf clothing section is getting better each time I enter on the lower level. Women's shoes are very easy to navigate as there all out and the boxes with sizes are easy to find. If they don't have your size just scan it with your Macy's app in store feature and they will ship it to your door. read more

Had some questions on the perfume here and the lady behind the counter looked at me and went back to talking with her coworkers. It took awhile to get her attention again, but once I got her to get the perfume package behind the counter for me, she offered to give me the 20% discount on top of the sale, so I thought that was nice. The employees here seem very complacent and didn't really want to help anyone, but I'm glad I got my discount. read more

The NC Fair Macy's is a step up from that wretched and kind of scary one at Westfield Carlsbad. This Macy's used to be *several* steps up from that one, but it's slipped over the years. The selection of clothing is decent but poorly organized: I'm always searching to find something in my size. Is a size L shirt that unusual? Pants that are 34x34? Clothes that are actually arranged in order of size? And this place is getting dingier and dirtier. While the dressing rooms have gone dank, at least I'm not left with thoughts that somebody might have died in them like in Carlsbad. Replace the carpet or invest in a Stanley Steemer visit, people. Often great deals can be had here. BUT... like at any Macy's, the transaction at the register reminds me of a foreign-country outdoor-marketplace experience. Macy's bombards us cardholders with multiple x% or x$ off coupons, some electronic, some on paper, and each with its own set of exclusions. The idea is to befriend your cashier and cajole him into assembling the right combination of these for you. Unfortunately you may be waiting 15 minutes for the person in front of you to do the above PLUS play the game of threatening to walk away, changing their purchases, etc., but with patience you'll eventually get YOUR turn to proudly own a lucha libre mask, sombrero, and plaster surfing monkey for half off. And big ups to the Macy's staff, who I've seen hold it together during negotiations. But, Macy's staff: Something to check for -- this has happened more than once -- is that all those electronic or dye-spewing security tags are off your clothes before you exit. No, they don't set off alarms, and no, when you get home, no power tools in your garage will remove them gently. read more

I really expected a lot from this Macy's, since it's one of the few in the North County area. Customer service was okay. Nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, they were pretty eager to help me out with anything I needed. Unfortunately, I didn't need anything from this store. The lack of items of clothes worth buying is depressing. I overheard a bunch of teenagers saying, "OMG let's get out of this place. I'm so over Macy's. They have nothing good here." To my dismay, I had to completely agree with them. The shoe department is tiny. If you blink, you might miss it. The only thing that makes this place worth two stars is their semi-decent handbag (they have Tokidoki on sale here) department and jewelry (they have Betsey Johnson on sale here) department. They used to have a lot of good things at this place but since their merger with Robinson May, it's gone downhill. read more

I don't dress in name brand clothes I'm not fit .. but this sales associate made my time at Macy the best experience. She was kind and friendly and did her job by helping me out the best she could. Based on my overall shopping experiences - 3 stars... They have a bigger women's section than the ghetto Carlsbad mall. I venture here if I were to hit up Macy's. I usually get awesome deals and come when it's not busy. They always have coupons in the mail, newspapers or online. During this visit on Black Friday evening, people looked miserable. Macy's is a large store and has a great selection for Men's and Women's products. With the selection and prices I find myself here every few months. The visits usually coincide with the "$10 off" or "save 40%" coupons I get in the mail so I can really take advantage of price discounts. The main benefit for me is using these discounts together with holiday and seasonal sales for maximum savings. While some items seem overpriced at times, you can't go wrong with Macy's and your bound to find something you like. Everything is Macy's is mid-level quality and you get what you pay for. The staff at this location is friendly but if you find yourself shopping near fragrances, watches or makeup prepare to be ignored. Sarah was delightful, not only was she knowledgeable, friendly and patient, but she seemed to genuinely care that we were picking out the best luggage for our needs. It was a plus that Macy's was having a sale on luggage and has a decent selection to choose from. I hope I am always lucky enough to have a sales person as phenomenal as Sarah. Overall, I would only rate Macy's as 3.5 due to the fact that it always seems messy in the clothing and shoe sections and can be hard to find help at times. I'm a frequent Macy's shopper but my in store experiences makes me take my business online especially since it's hassle-free and as a Platinum Cardholder I receive free shipping with no minimum. Same day / Different Department Experiences Men's Clothing - I was ready to check out, so I stood at the counter. I saw 2 employees folding clothes from afar who were the cashiers previously when I walked in and stared at them. They looked at me and didn't budge. Waited a little longer and finally one of them went to ring me up. Men's Shoes - Not a single employee to be found. After waiting, finally an employee came and "helped" assist but instead of getting the correct color shoe, she handed me a brown instead. I asked about the black pair and she told me it was out of stock. Shortly after, another employee showed up, I asked her to check for the black pair and she found it. Then claimed, the previous employee was just covering this department and isn't familiar with shoes. Overall, I prefer shopping online. Employees are not cross trained and it shouldn't take long to purchase a couple items. read more

I don't know if it is because so many stores have/will be closing but, it seems as though their are never any associates around to help. Fortunately, we know our way around the store enough that we don't need directions however, when it comes to checking out it is a pain. When shopping in the men's department today we found their was only one cashier open for the entire floor and granted, it was not necessarily a busy time, it was still frustrating to have to wander the entire floor to be rung up. Luckily the young woman was extremely friendly and even offered up a 25% coupon for our purchase which made the cashier hunt worth it in the end. The products are still great but, they need more staff on each floor so the customers do not feel as though they are unimportant. read more

Went in today to make a return with all proper return paperwork and Carmen was beyond rude. No one was practicing Covid protocols and I didn't feel safe in the store. Carmen should not be in the service industry as she speaks in a condescending manner to the customer. I went to the La Jolla store where I was treated well and they handled it with no problem. The day after Black Friday my mom and I went to the mall to walk off some of those Thanksgiving calories. Wen wonder into Macy's and are looking at the Michael Kors purses. They are all locked up so we can not actually see how they feel on or shoulder. We obviously need help because we are looking at the purses then looking around for someone to help. There are people that work there moving around changing the sale signs but no one pays us any attention. Finally I raise my hand and tell them we could use the help. I get told they are busy changing signs but someone else will come help us and then rushes off. (Sorry to bother you with my shopping) Well the purse I want is $278 and we are about to go out of town for the holidays so I just cannot justify it and they don't have what my mom wants so we leave. Fast forward to today and I need to go to the mall to make an exchange before we leave for NYC. (Mind you I have been dreaming of this MK bag and looking at it online like purse porn since Thanksgiving) on my way to heading to the mall I am making all these justifications for buying it like a big purse will be helpful in NYC to hold gloves and scarfs and soon I will have a tax return coming in so this is like my pretax season/Christmas gift to myself. I get to the mall and my first stop is Macy's but they don't have the right color anymore. So I look around the MK section (not one sales person approaches me) then after walking through the mall I go back and decide I am going to ask if they may have one in the back. I go back to Macy's and I look for someone in the section while looking at the MK bags again and the only person I see is a lady ringing someone up. I feel like if you have someone looking at purses that you do not allow people to handle without a sales associate you should make the sales associate available Thank you Macy's for saving me $300! read more

It's very disappointing now to shop here. Their petite section doesn't have any new item. The cash registers were unmanned and you have to go around to look for a register that's open. Can't find any sales person to help when you have a question. You're on your own. The clothes sizes/styles were on different racks. Might as well order on line but some people like me it matters when you actually see and try the clothes you're buying. I really feel like I'm at swap meet. We walked around the suit department for 20-30 minutes, checking out the different options until my boyfriend found the one he wanted, stood in front of it for a good long time waiting for someone to come measure him, but no. She did all she could to find the right ring. She used catalogs, went online, asked around etc. She spent so much time helping me that other staff kept asking her if she needed assistance. Only after she exhausted all of her resources, she pointed me in the direction of someone she thought could help in the mall. This review is for the wedding registry department inside of Macy's. This Macy's by far has a bigger selection than our closest Macy's so we chose to go here instead. Jackie in the home department was an added BONUS! She helped us put together our registry from start to finish and was near by if we had any questions. Of course, we had a ton of questions about everything you could imagine and she had all the answers we needed. She is the sweetest lady to work with! She takes her time, she's calm and she really knows her stuff! I am glad that we were assigned to her when we made our appointment because we feel she really made the experience pleasant. She even called this weekend to see if we needed anymore help or had any more questions... I totally did have a question about something being discontinued and was just about to call her...How cool is that? We had so much fun picking what we wanted on our registry. The Macy's at North County is IMMENSE. From Sephora to Calvin Klein, you could literally get lost in the 2 or 3 levels of the store- each floor is extremely huge and well stocked and organized. Personally, when I was here, this place was buzzing with activity from tons of Christmas shoppers looking for that perfect, last-minute present. The jewelry section was somewhere that caught my eye- there's just so many sparkly and gorgeous necklaces and earrings! She said that she had to make phone calls for gift which was ten days away! Ok, she lost a $300 sale. The line she works for was emailed. I really liked her too. I would avoid Macy's in general. I have been a Macy's card member for years and shopped there in an attempt to preserve local jobs (as opposed to shopping online). My issue started with Macy's when my wife used my card December 2016 to purchase several things as gifts, using the card for a discount. She forgot to tell me and due to a KNOWN billing issue that Macy's is AWARE of (I have an email explaining it that I would be happy to show), I never received any bill of any kind. Instead, I received delinquency calls several months later. Shocked, I paid the bill quickly over the phone after she informed me that she forgot to tell me about the bill. As said above, no emails or letters were received by Macy's at this time due to the known billing error that they informed me of after the fact. I then contacted Macy's about the issue and wished that they extended my credit line back to the original amount and removed the mark from my credit score. After nine (9) months of calling, and getting a constant run around with their terrible customer service, and multiple complaints via their website, I was informed that they had implemented a new system during that time that caused known issues but that they were not responsible. Since I paid my bill and did not dispute it, they would not remove the delinquency due to "internal policies." This must be the worst customer service EVER. I have been a credit card member of theirs for years and always paid my bills on-time and in full. This sort of service is exactly why they are losing customers every year to Amazon and online services. They cannot compete and it shows. I will never shop here again and will tell anyone and everyone who will listen just how poorly they treat loyal customers. read more

This is a little bit messy Macy's and I only shop there when I get coupons in the mail about special offers, such as the wonderful Lancôme. Got a super cute beach tote bag buying $35 of cosmetics. The problem is that you tend to buy more than you wanted and the sellers can be a little too pushy. I got often to the perfume section to try different new scents during my lunch time as I work close by. However, do not expect to browse quietly, as is always crowded by customers and you will have to politely decline any assistance offered. Other than that, I rather go to the Macy's in Horton Plaza but this one is handy when you want that special deal not to escape from your hands too soon! read more
