Macys has always been one of my favorite stores to shop. They have the best deals on merchandise and the biggest selections. The store is always clean and the sales people are always considerate whenever I have to deal with them. My favorite store is Pearl Ridge. I took my little sister to go dress shopping for Prom. The selection not dresses were underwhelming but we did find a few options for her. We finally decided on a dress but only came to kind of window shop to see how much money our family was going to have to dish out. I myself have never been to prom but I know prom in general can carry a hefty price( Soo hard being a girl I swear). We waited in line to be seen by a cashier and when we got to the front we kindly asked her what was their hold policy and if they do lay away. (yes I said lay away) My family doesn't have a lot of money so we we're going to ban together collectively to pay for a dress for my sister. Before we could even explain not in full detail but just say anything past our question our cashier cut us off and said " why don't you just buy it! We won't have your size if you come back" I just stared at her in disbelief that like the tone she used was just so uncalled for. It was like she was irritated I even asked her those questions. We then asked if they took visa credit card gift cards. She couldn't even understand what we were asking so she brushed off the question and defaulted to a whatever answer that they only took Macy's cards. I didn't wanna put up with her b/s so we put it on hold. And pondered over the purchase over lunch. When we came back to retrieve it, I had decided I didn't want to cash out with her since her customer service was below average. She asked me where I was gonna try on the dress? I looked at her like ok where else would be go and try it on? In the dressing room lady?! The saving Grace was another cashier on the other end of the floor who told us about a sale that was going on if we had bought the dress that day we could receive 30% off. In total she saved our family about $100. I was very appreciative of that. It was stressful but thankfully very minor. Just beware of a grouchy old lady who is very unwelcoming if you have questions. read more

In an attempt to skip the madness of ala moana shopping center to find new work shoes and a few cute outfits for a good friends up coming wedding and the festivities leading up to it, I wound up at pearlridge. This Macys is terrible for women's shoe selections. I kept on hoping I'd find another section somewhere but, yup the 5-6 table displays and three clearance racks are all they have. Boo! Are sales that bad, that they had to cut the inventory? It could be because of customer service, you get none. The first two sales associates I passed were having a great conversation about lunch and the last one I ran into was going off to a friend about when and how she was going to give her resignation. Come on guys at least pretend you half care about being there and it's not like it was slow! You pretty much thought the 20 or so women busily rushing past each other for the limited inventory of shoes were invisible. Does Macys incentivize their employees with commissions? Maybe they should to make their employees pay attention to customers? This department wasn't my scene so I went to the juniors department to see if I could find a dress for my friends wedding next month. Customer service is the polar opposite here. The sales associate team here are busy bees and even opened up more registers when check out got held up with too many people. I was asked a few time of how I was doing on the floor and the awesome lady that checked me out, I wish I got her name made it so I saved $55 on my purchases!One of the dresses I wanted was last in stock but had a very small seam tear so I got 10% off and I was told if didn't need the dresses right away I pay for it now, and pick them up on Wednesday 4/30 (three days later) for an additional 25% off due to a event special starting on that date. Score! Who tries to find their customers savings these days? Way to go juniors department. I'm from the mainland, so I came here loving Macy's. Usually, the experience is first class, but last night left something to be desired. We went to get my wife new boots for an upcoming trip and the display said $49.99...give Macy's $5 for a good cause and receive a 25% discount. With tax, I'm estimating $45 after all's said and done. Long story short, wife comes out to parking lot with boots in hand and receipt that reads $59. Uh, where's the other $14? Sent wife back in with receipt and complaint, got more confusion, but $49.99 price and discount applied, she comes out with the right change. Other than that neat experience, Macy's usually delivers. They have a great product line and store layout. Just be careful to check your receipt BEFORE leaving the store! read more

I see that there's always sales here which is great. Unfortunately, the sale prices seem like average prices I could find at another store on a regular day. So I don't feel like I'm getting a bang for my buck. Personally, I haven't purchased anything from this Macy's location. I much prefer the one in Kaneohe if I ever do buy from Macy's(which is rare.) But when I'm at Pearlridge mall, I sometimes venture here. Then I'm always reminded of why I don't shop at this location - poor customer service. Every single time I pick up an item to look for the price tag, there's always an associate glaring at me. Yes, glaring. Today was the worst look I've recieved from an associate. She kept her demeaning eyes on me the whole time from when she was walking towards me till after she passed me. I immediately placed the shirt down and made my way out of the store. I do not appreciate these looks I get when I come here. That's the main reason why I don't give you my business. I went here with my aunty after we already had great customer service from Nordstrom at Ala Moana. She's from Kauai and wanted to go to Pearlridge and check out the Macy's store. Customer service here is hard to come by. No one acknowledges you even if you are standing at the counter looking at something. My aunty wanted to see a watch. We finally got someone to help us after about 10 minutes. The lady was not friendly at all and kind of sounded annoyed. I can't think of many positive things to say about this Macy's except that they finally started carrying Urban Decay products, but I can also find that at Sephora. The store looks messy, but Macy's also seems to have some kind of sale going on. You can get even more discounts if you have a Macy's card. However, there is no way I'm signing up for a Macy's card...I used to have one a long time ago, and then they sent me the bill super late since the address was wrong, tacked on a late fee, and the bill was in Spanish. read more

The woman in the women's handbags department yesterday between 10:30 am to 11:30 am was extremely helpful, friendly and accomodating. She greeted me with a smile when she saw me walk up to the cash register counter. I was deciding on what bag to choose and was having a hard time deciding. She even took the packing paper out of the bag to show me how much room was in it. She was very knowledgeable and offered me different ideas and choices depending on what I wanted. In the women's shoe department, there is a shortage of help. The associate who helped me was nice and friendly enough, but when she left me to look for a shoe in the size I requested, she never came back. After 10 minutes, I took the shoes I wanted to buy up to the register and there she was, ringing up customers! I purchased my shoes and left, irritated that my sales associate never brought me the other shoes I had requested. What could have been a multiple sale failed for lack of attention to detail, follow-through, and exellent customer service. read more

This place doesn't change. They spend all this time fixing their store front, when they should fix the elevator. The elevator hasn't worked in a month. One cannot get to the third floor with a stroller. The children's clothes are on the third floor. So if you have children, have a stroller, and need clothes too bad. The one day sale. Christmas items 90% off. Got some ornaments for next years' tree. Lol. Mom had a coupon card that gives an additional 20% off for the entire day. I don't think you can combine it if the merchandise is already on sale / clearance. I think there's variation between departments. Bed ... accessories ? - had a variation on discounts. Found nothing of interest or made of material I'd sleep on. Looked through the bags. Buy one and get the second free. Wow. I dug through the piles. Nothing good. Footwear - 70% off. I was looking for ONE particular pair that I really loved the last time I came shopping. Yeah I found it, in a really big size so I left that department empty-handed. BUT there was another part of the first floor with indoor slippers (which I was looking for in the first place). They had a clearance so picked up three parts. I DO NOT REGRET. Shopped around through the jewelry. Mom got a watch for my brother. I found a sterling silver necklace which was half off and the pendant was shaped into a dog. Super cute! Okay this is going to be a rant.... My boyfriend and I were at Pearlridge because we wanted to pick out a new mattress for his apartment. We looked through sears and did not find what we were looking for, we decided to see if there were mattresses in his price range as a starter mattress since he just moved here. As we arrive to the mattress department we find what we are looking for, a durable mattress in his price range. The woman who was working told us that it was cheap because we'd be buying the display, my boyfriend and I are very frugal so we didn't mind that at all. As we begin to go through the process of buying the mattress, the saleswoman begins berating my boyfriend on how terrible of a mattress it is, essentially mocking my boyfriend at this point. I honestly thought that she was joking, but she continued to go on and said such things as "I hope you plan on getting a different one soon", mind you, this is WHILE we were trying to check out. She then proceeded to tell us about a very expensive mattress she had just bought with her employee discount, as if waving it in our face. As you can see, not the best when it comes to sales this woman. I honestly was restraining myself because I didn't want to cause a scene, we just wanted to buy the mattress and get out. So she gets my boyfriends address and sets the delivery date, she picked a date and assured us that delivery would be there. So two weeks pass and my boyfriend gets a call on the date of delivery with a big "whoops" basically explaining that the same woman, who had behaved terribly when selling us the mattress, had forgotten to place the delivery. So my boyfriend had made sure to be off of work for nothing, only for it to be postponed another week, for this delay he asked about getting a discount or perhaps the delivery fee waived because of how big of an inconvenience it is. We have been waiting 4 days to hear about the discount and have constantly been referred to different people. Not sure if the fee will be waged yet, but it's fair to say, we will not be shoppers at this Macy's again considering how terrible the service has been. read more

Today I went shopping for school clothes for my daughter she just needed some pants we looked around for about 20-30 min until we found a few items for her to try ( no associates in site to ask us if we need help finding anything etc) . My daughter tries them on in the dressing room and I walk to go and find her ( daughters 13) and see if she's doing ok etc if she wanted to try on another size she said no saw a mirror at the end of the hall so adjusted my clothing all of a sudden an associate appears speaking in her radio scans every room in the dressing room mind u there's no one else there then stares me down asks me if I need something not a hello could I help you find anything just do u need something yah my kid in the dressing room !! Then proceeds to walk away we come out of the dressing room to have her follow us everywhere in the store pretending to put nothing back lol stereo typing locals who shop here ok ... I found 3 pants that fit her was going to pay and leave until I noticed the lady following us just made me feel weird so I put it on the rack in front of the register and left shopped at sugar sugar instead clothes were pricier but had way better selection and styles and definitely had customer service unlike macys what a shame won't shop here again rude and typical stereo typing is a no for me read more

This 2 star review is only regarding the mattress/bedding department of Macy's at Pearlridge and not the entire store. Over the Labor Day weekend, My wife and I headed out to look for that perfect mattress, as our current bed was over ten years old. We kept hearing an ad for the "Purple" mattress over the radio and decided to go to Macy's, who had it on sale. When we got to the mattress department, it was deserted except for two women, probably the salesperson and a customer. I walked over to the area where the Purple mattress was displayed and was appalled. There were so many stains all over the entire top of the mattress. I so much wanted to try out the Purple but could not bring myself to lying on it or even touching the mattress, it was so yucky! I was really disappointed but decided to check out the rest of the mattresses in the store. I must've been there for almost 20 minutes, pushing on several mattresses, reading the placards, and sitting on a few. No salesperson approached or acknowledged me. I walked past the two women repeatedly hoping the salesperson would call someone to assist me, but she appeared too wrapped up in her conversation. This was a Saturday evening and not a weekday...I thought there'd be more salespersons available. If you want to try out the Purple mattress, I suggest you find another place unless you're not grossed out by all of the stains. Sad to say, we left there without being helped or having tried the Purple mattress and headed to Sleep Number Store, where we eventually bought our new bed. read more

I love and hate this place. Back in my younger days Macy's used to be classy now it reminds me of an upscale Ross or TJ Maxx. What is crazy about Macy's is you go there one week and they have some hot clothing that you want to pick up, until you see the sticker price and say, the hell with that. The trick is to wait a couple of weeks. That same shirt that was selling for $69.50 will be on the 25-75% sale rack; team that up with the weekly coupons that give you an additional percentage or dollar amount off and you can net some nice threads at a low cost. Overall I enjoy my trips to Macy's, especially when I score some good deals. Look for flyers to save! read more

A rude sales associate and unclear sales advertising has landed Macy's my one star. I was in handbags around two this afternoon and the lady "helping" me was infuriating. She wanted to sign me up for a rewards card or something but she was so unclear about it that I wasn't sure if it was a credit card or not. I asked her THREE times if it was a credit card and she IGNORED me each time, favoring the conversation she was having with her coworkers on the side. I purchased a really nice black leather tignanello purse this evening from Macy's for a Christmas gift and was pretty happy with the 25% off deal that I got for it. Unfortunately it seemed like all of the other shoppers there were holding additional percentage off coupons, but that's what I get for cancelling my Macy's credit card. There wasn't much of a line at the purse department, so I made my purchase there with the salesperson. Thankfully she wasn't rude about me not having a Macy's card. Usualy it takes 2-3 Business days for any electronic transaction to return to a card (Debit or Credit)..PLUS these Jewlery bitches, tell me "you can't get it back because someone has to override it" then When I ask why can't someone override it then, she chaged her story to now it's a policy. SHISEIDO COUNTER (Pearlridge). I normally really like the Shiseido girls at the Shiseido counters. But on my last and final visit at the Pearlridge Macy's counter, I left annoyed. Which doesn't happen often. Long story short, I went in to get a sample of a liquid foundation. I don't bother trying them in the store because its always the wrong color - dept. store lights are the worst for this. I even specified that I just wanted enough for ONE application. A few drops at best. The person (she worked for Shiseido) who was helping me kept asking me if she could put in on me. After saying no several times, and repeating my request for a sample, she went to ASK the younger associate. They whispered behind the counter, which made me really uncomfortable - and she returned to tell me no. The reason? The tester was small and would run out. So it was okay to put it on me at the store - but to give me the same amount that they would have used in a little vial was too much to ask. Mind you - I haven't really shopped there, so I would be a new client. I buy high end products regularly and always looking for what's new. What made this even more unbelievable is companies like Lancome and Estee Lauder encourage home foundation sampling. I'm fairly certain if you ask the Shiseido higher ups (who FYI, I happen to know) they would say they also encourage clients to try products. Note: There was no lead up to this experience. I don't have relationship with the counter, I didn't return anything, I didn't ask too many questions or waste their time. I was VERY polite. After working in retail for so long, I try to be a good customer and not be too demanding. So this behavior was completely unwarranted. I left the counter - annoyed and horrified by the terrible customer service. The following week I went to Nordstrom and bought the foundation. FYI - most counters/stores encourage sampling of skin care products and foundation which is a smart thing since usually its the categories that create loyal customers. read more

I have a very hard time finding a pair of jeans that fit me. I used to use INC bootcut curvy fit in a petite short size that is hard to find. They were out of stock and ordering this pair of jeans was not available. Ualani was a sales associate that was friendly and helpful. I finally found another style that works for me, Style & Co in curvy short petite. According to the computer, there were 2 blue and 1 black. Ualani helped me find what I needed. One of the ladies at the Clinique counter was very rude tonight. Geez. I wanted to see the different colors of eye shadows and blush so i was looking at the palettes out on the counter. I wasn't touching! Just looking. This Clinique sales person lady (helping someone else) tells me I need to ask a salesperson. I ask, "just to see the colors?" then she rudely places a table top mirror and covers the eye shadows I was looking at and blocks my view of the eye shadows. I told her I JUST want to see the colors (not touching them at all) and she tells me again to go find another salesperson. So rude!! Then she blocks the eye shadow and blush area with her body so I couldn't look. Whatevers, I ended up walking out. I'll be going to Windward Mall to purchase my items. read more

Its a mad house today! Today they had sales of 50-85% off of some clothing items. Some of them had additional 10% off after the discount. Before that, I printed a coupon online that was $10 off with a minimum $25 purchase. Broke up the items into separate transactions and saved even more! Altogether, I got dress pants, a tie, and a dress shirt that would originally cost $200 for $70! Pretty good deal I think! read more

I waited a whole week to receive the product and when I received the product it was not polarized as it is stated on the description. I went into macys store in pearl ridge mall in pearl city hawaii and I was told that "it's unfortunate but you must pay the difference if you want polarized and we can't honor the discount." this is false advertising and they won't even honor their mistake! They've gown hill since Sears left ALa Moana. Now, they are the NEW Sears of the mall... the worlds largest outdoor mall. (did you know that?) Their food at the "Pineapple Room" is on par with course and delicious. They have a bar... fully stocked bar, though you'll have to order 4-5 drinks to equal a regular clubs (or homemade) alcohol content drink. (Hey bartender: be more generous!!) Longies "use to be" my club and snack of choice. Now, go to Nordstrom "Mariposa's or Neiman Marcus's cafe near the valet parking , 1st floor. Better ambiance and food quality. Macy's at this location is sub-par. I only shop at Nordstrom (Stock Ticker JWN and they're going through the roof... get in NOW). Neimen Marcus is a close second for shopping, thought they rerely have my FAT size of 44" pants or an XXL shirt. It's still fun to go here. The selection: Inc, Men's suits & Sport's Jackets, shoes, etc. are decent, though you can do better. Look around first. Take the time, it's worth it on your AMEX Card's and your wallet will thank you for it! The selection here is limited and the store is old. The younger my "hip" section is usually messy and seems over stocked. The home section is very small, so I usually visit ala moana. You can for the most part find the basic items you need, but if your looking for something more specific I'd go to ala moanalua or shop on line. read more
