Loved this place! A short 2 minute walk from the U District light rail station, this boba place recently opened up. I came here during a Yelp Elite event that my partner was invited to. We got the Passion Fruit Li-Li tea and Grapefruit Li-Li w/ Honey drink! There was an error with the system when it came to giving us the Yelp Elite promo. Despite that, the workers were incredibly nice and helpful to resolve the issue, even the manager stepped in to help us. The manager also handed out free samples to us and ensured our experience at Macu was going great. Overall, the ambiance and drinks of Macu were amazing (helped that they played good music). I look forward to my next visit! read more

Tried their BOGO matcha tiramisus when they first opened and I was not a fan of the drink. I never tried a drink like this so I don't believe it was their fault I didn't enjoy it. I later went back for a classic black milk tea and felt that was a lot better. The interior and workers are nice and I enjoyed one of their fruit teas they were handing out. I think this place is worth checking out if you are a boba lover! read more

Today 12/20/23 I came into Macu Tea during their Day 1 Grand Opening! Funny enough I tried Macu Tea for the very first time a few days ago in Vancouver Canada 12/17/23, so I was really excited to see how they compare since the one in Canada was definitely a 5-out-of-5. This location was formerly ran by R&B Tea, however since that place closed I noticed Macu Tea placed up their sign during the recent summer and have now opened this week. I came inside an hour ago around 3pm with my partner and her friends. Although there was somewhat of a long line it went by pretty quick! And even with the long line, because it was Grand Opening week there was a worker giving out free samples to promote their drink of the day happening tomorrow. There is also a promotion happening now until Friday where you can get BOGO on select drinks. My partner and I ordered the same drink we got back at the Macu Tea Vancouver, the Bo-Bo Strawberry Smoothie drink so that we can compare whether it was the same or not. What I can gladly say is that this drink is still really tasty! There were only subtle differences like ice texture and the drink had a duller color, but other than that the delicious refreshing taste was still there! With the BOGO we also got the Boba Milk Tea without any adjustments, and the drink turned out very tasty as well! I really like how nicely the boba was cooked as it had the PERFECT chewy-ness that very few boba places get right. For Grand Opening week I am surprised at how high quality everything is despite the large line of people and the numerous staff working together today to get everything working out amazingly. This might just become one of my top 3 boba places in all of the Seattle Area, so I am hoping they continue making great drinks! A hidden gem in U-districts boba scene!!! I love MACU tea. Their menu is extensive and there's something for everyone, milk tea, fresh fruit teas WITH PULP!!!, and much more. I tried their Lili tea, which was so refreshing and had fresh fruit pulp it. It was like having a healthier topping option in my tea. I also tried their golden leaf milk tea with boba. their boba is delicious, mildly sweet, and cooked perfectly, not too hard and not too soft, just right! the drink was also very pleasant, kind of a lighter green milk tea. they were also doing a cute snoopy collab, and have special cups that are adorable! read more

The cashier was friendly and answered all of my questions about the differences between the different mango smoothies. I got the Bo-Bo Mango Smoothie. The green tea jelly it comes with had a slight bitterness to it because it tasted like real green tea. The mango was super fresh and you could tell it was made from real mangoes. Clean and nice interior for sitting or studying too! read more

The ordering was easy and efficient and my drink was tasty. They were out of boba but the QQ noodles were good. I was a bit confused about why they upcharged me for them when the boba that would be included in the one I ordered wasn't available but meh. The cup was cute and they gave me a really nice holder. Located in UW among many other boba shops, I tried this place out as I work my way down the list of boba places here. I got the golden leaf milk tea with chi-chi (cheese foam) and 3Q (boba, coconut jelly, and bo-bo (agar)). I opted for 30% sugar and 30% ice, but it was still a bit too sweet for me. Perhaps. this is because the 3Q topping has added sugar, but it was just a bit too sweet overall. I enjoyed the tea flavor from the golden leaf milk tea, and the boba texture is fairly solid. I liked the coconut jelly and agar that added additional texture, something that I usually do not go out of the way adding as it is pricey, but I decided to still give it a try as the order is placed under my team. Overall, this is a solid boba spot, and currently, they have a Peanuts / Snoopy collaboration so you may get some of those designed cups! read more

We got the king mango smoothie and the grape smoothie. It was all so refreshing. The mango is definitely fresh - there were literally crates of mangoes sitting in the store. And the drink itself had mango chunks in it. The creaminess with all the toppings, and the burst of i think grapefruit pulp is such a good touch. There's a lot going on with the drink and all of it is good. The wait time was a bit but we just chilled - there weren't much staff and there was a decent flow of people so makes sense. read more

My roommate's favorite boba spot finally opened their first location in Washington. I had this recently in Taiwan. Drove here on Xmas Eve, paid for the toll to get to this side of town, no regrets. They have a list of their top drinks to order if you're indecisive; there's a variety of milk teas, fruit teas, blended drinks. You can also have the option to add boba or cheese foam. Honestly, there's just so many good boba franchises out now especially in the area, the bad places are really bad, but all the good places are relatively similar, just depends on your personal preference to what drink you're seeking out I guess. This is located across right on 45th kind of near Trader Joe's, you'll have to find street parking. Probably good for the students living around here and can walk. There's a lot of bubble tea shops out there these days, and most of them blend together for me tbh. Currently I feel like I only really enjoy going to CHICHA San Chen, Yifang, and Meet Fresh. After going to Macu today, I'm happy to add another bubble tea place to that list of shops. I decided to get the chi chi strawberry smoothie since it was listed as their top drink on their top 10 board, and fruity drinks seems to be a speciality of theirs based on their slogan ("Fruit Your Life"). Normally I would have gone with a mango drink, but I heard from the cashier that the grape and mango drinks were not available (possibly until late Feb 2024). The chi chi strawberry smoothie was delicious. I liked the creaminess that the salty cheese foam (chi chi) added to the strawberry smoothie and the green tea jelly at the bottom was an unexpectedly nice chewy addition to the drink. If you want a more chewy topping at the bottom, I would consider getting the bo bo strawberry smoothie which has agar jelly (bo bo) at the bottom in lieu of the salty cheese foam. The sweetness of the drink was also on point. Overall I can't wait to come back. I'm excited to see what their other top drinks taste like. read more

Overall this is a good bubble tea spot. They have taken the space of another bubble tea spot. Their logo is appealing with a vibrant red which is also on their tea holders. I'm sure I'll keep using my holder in the future! They have "dessert teas" which may be appealing if you're looking for something sweet. I liked the green tea jelly in my drink the most. They were pretty quick with the orders but my main issue was the placement of the register. For just a short line. It was really cramped in the front. Macu tea opened up in the beginning of the month and I finally got the chance to try it. Macu replaced R&B Tea so I wondering if it was better. I went with my friends and we ordered Tieguanyin Milk Tea with boba, Chi Chi Golden Leaf Tea with QQ, Boba Milk Tea, and Matcha Tiramisu. My friends all enjoyed their drinks and it wasn't too sweet. The Chi Chi and the Matcha Tiramisu had a lot of cheese foam and that took a lot of the drink, but overall very yummy. Along with the drinks we got to try a sample of their milk tea. The employee forgot to give a sample to one of my friends when she ordered though. The employees are nice and quick making the drinks and they taste good. I must say, my expectations were pleasantly shattered at Macu Tea. As someone who typically tiptoes around the boba craze, I was caught off guard by the toothsomeness that awaited me here. Now, I've had my fair share of boba encounters, and more often than not, I find myself underwhelmed. But Macau Tea? They've mastered the art of boba perfection. These little spheres of joy strike the ideal balance between chewy and bouncy, making each bite a tiny celebration in your mouth. And the drinks? I opted for their Chi-Chi Strawberry Smoothie along with the Chi-Chi Golden Leaf Tea (I love cheese foam). Though I was unable to adjust the sweetness on the smoothie, I was nevertheless surprised that the sweetness was not overpowering, but rather complemented the sweetness of the boba very well. So glad Macu made it to Seattle! There's alot of boba in UVill but they are in my top 3 because of a few reasons: (1) exceptional service: the manager was wonderful & so was the cashier who asked me questions on my recent trip to Taiwan. (2) the chill and warm vibes, it felt like an escape in the cold rainy weather and got me more excited for my boba! (3) the awesome slingable drinks. Me and my friends all enjoyed our various drinks -- they got the Tieguanyin Oolong (50% and 10%) while I got the wintermelon with fresh milk and boba (fixed sugar was not too sweet!). The boba was nice, bouncy and flavorful & while we were there we got to sample the Sunshine Li-Li which would be an exceptional, refreshing summer treat. I'll definitely be coming back! Bonus points for the Macu x Snoopy partnership, so adorable! read more

Citrus season is unmatched - I love grapefruit bubble tea and Macu tea definitely hit the spot. Fresh - there was so much grapefruit pulp in my bbt! My bbt with boba came out to $8.75 pre-tip, so a little bit pricer than other places but still really enjoyed the tea flavor. I first tried in Richmond, Canada because I know their mango bevs are popular. But it's only a seasonal item - so I'll be back for sure!! I heard about Macu Tea and I've seen people with their drinks so I had to give it a try. 0n a Friday I stopped by and bought the Chi Chi Grape Smoothie. Should've realized that since grapes really don't have much flavor the drink wouldn't have much flavor either and it didn't. The next day I return to give them a second chance. I ordered the Chi Chi Mango Smoothie and Brown Sugar Boba for my daughter. She thought hers was OK as for me it was a little better than the grape but not by much. What makes it good I believe is the chi chi cheese foam. Unfortunately, too much of it is left behind in the cup and without a spoon that's where it stays. As a result once again, it lacked flavor. There are so many other Boba shops out there so I won't be back to this one. read more

My new favorite boba spot around the ave! For milk teas, I always get the black milk tea with boba with 50% sweetness. The boba is cooked very well and the milk tea has good flavor as well. One of the best places for desserts on the go! If you're like me, you're probably always busy and don't always have the time to relax and enjoy a dessert. Macu Tea's Drinking Desserts are a game changer. I decided to try the chocolate tiramisu, and it was incredible. It was creamy, rich, and just the right amount of sweet - plus, it came in such generous portions that I got more than my fair share. Drove from Kirkland to check out Macu Tea on a friend's recommendation. Both my husband and I got the Bo Bo Grape smoothie. The smoothie actually has good flavor but it was super coarse. I saw the bobrista struggling with the blender when he was making the drinks. I think he tried to make too many drinks at once. The blender kept getting stuck but I didn't realize he served the drinks as is. The huge pieces of ice made it very difficult to drink. Since I just started Invisalign this was my one treat for the day. Chewing the ice made my teeth hurt. read more

The meat was actually spread apart well throughout the sandwich. The cheese and sauces gave this a good moisture level to prevent it from being too dry. This contributed to the pretty good taste Only issue is the price - it's quite a small sandwich, and yet you're paying 15 bucks for it. That's just insane prices. I was so obsessed with how gorgeous the açai bowl was I almost didn't want to eat it. It took everything in me to be patient and let my phone eat first with how delectable the fresh fruit looked. And to add to all of that, the workers kept playing the same song repeatedly with horrible language and laughing about it every time it restarted. I don't mind if a cafe plays a few songs with the occasional bad word, but this was like a parody song of the "f-word." Not a great look guys.

I like their hot bar and salad bar. Always a rotation of items that keeps it busy interesting over time. What I don't think they are good for is snacks. Sometimes I just want something simple and not healthy and this place ain't it. I think this place is better for medium size shops.
