I used to go to this salon before coming to ABS nails. It's a little on the pricier side compared to the other nail salons on Ave U. Gel manicures are $25 and pedicures are $17. Even though they honor appointments on the phone and are usually booked up, their gel manicures didn't last that long and neither did their pedicures. It's been a minute! Looks like I have been a customer since 2016. Not once since I started coming here have I gone someplace else. So, let me do a quick break down: + Appointment times are adhered to almost all the time. I've had to wait twice since 2016. + Emergency fixes are accommodated most of the time. I am accident prone and tend to slam my fingers in jeep roofs or get my nails stuck in paper towel dispensers, so for and so on. I have swung by on a whim many MANY times to fix a nail and every once in a while I am told to come back but most of the time someone steps up to help. + Sing and Cindy both do wonderful work. - The massage chairs no longer work. - If you are into elaborate nail art, this place might get a bit boring. But Cindy is an ace at replicating geometric designs. I've seen her do wonderful work. This is a NO FRILLS place. Treat it as such and you will have a wonderful experience. Went here for the first time today & I'm pretty happy that I did. Cindy did my gel manicure & I love how much of a perfectionist she is. She really took her time & made sure all my nails were filed evenly & that the polish was applied on perfectly on every edge. I absolutely hate when nail salons rush & I end up w/ a half-assed mani, so today I was actually 100% satisfied w/ my nails. I also got a pedicure done here by one of the other nail techs that I was also satisfied with. I will definitely be getting my nails done here from now on. **TIP, it's best to make an appointment bc it's a small salon & they do get busy fast. This is not my normal salon, but I had to get my nails done quickly before a trip. I came in, with an appointment, due to their good yelp reviews. Right off the bat, each and every person working there had a mean attitude, not sure why. The first woman seemed irritated by my presence. She was removing my gel manicure so violently that she bruised my nail bed. It really hurt bad and when I flinched, she threw up her arms and walked away. I have never had a nail tech so rough. It was almost like she was taking out her aggression on my nails. In total three people worked on my nails (not sure why), and it was an awful experience. Prices are pretty good and overall my nails look good 2 weeks later - shaped well, polish is still on. I got SNS with tips and unlike my usual experience I didn't get any cuts on my cuticles from rough handling woohoo. This is partly because Sing didnt cut my cuticles at all but I appreciated that. My main complaint is the lack of cleanliness and there are no perks - no light back massage or friendly smiles lol. If you just want ur nails done well for cheap n dont mind a dusty, old looking space - no bells or whistles- then check it out. Great spot! Nothing too fancy in terms of how the salon looks and its pretty small. (Only 2 pedicure chairs, I think but could be a good thing for some.) I went in for a french pedi ($11) and the lady did a great job, very thorough and even did a parafin pedi at no extra charge. Im not sure but dont those usually cost more? I dont know. I loved it! Never stepping a foot in this nail salon again. So I come in before I have to go to work and I'm a regular client for Sing and when I walked in they were like sort of surprised to see me. I pick my polish and then I'm sit and wait (keep in mind I had a 10:30 appointment and I got there at 10:17). While I was waiting Cindy asked me what I was waiting for and then I told her I had a 10:30 appointment with Sing. So I go sit in the pedicure chair and someone did my pedicure. While I'm drying my toes the lady says only pedicure and I said no I'm getting a gel fill and she goes over to Cindy and tells her that I'm also getting a gel fill and she tells me they don't have time to do my gel fill. I was like how is that possible, like I made an appointment for PEDICURE AND A GEL FILL like I do come in every 2 weeks for the same thing why would I change now. Sing was clearly over booked but I had things to do and I had work right after and my nail fell off, I could not walk around with a missing nail for the whole day. He had someone else waiting for him and he was clearly telling me that he didn't have time to do my nails to take her. I was so frustrated at how wrong that was. Like I took time out of my day to come Here and this is what happens. I didn't even feel like it was fair to pay for my pedicure like what kind of bs is that.
