This is my most frequented Macrina location. Since it's near work, I'm often picking up food for lunch meetings. I will call ahead to put my order in and pick up at the designated time. Shay, Gretchen & crew are amazing to work with. The carne salad and sandwiches rotate every two weeks. I'm also a fan of their morning glory muffins and desserts. There's something for everyone here.

They had some yummy cookies and desserts. The flavors were so unique. It was nice for after dinner.

Mmmm, really glad I came across this location in Sodo-last time I recall visiting an actual Macrina cafe was 15 years ag when I lived in capital hill. Allllll the pastries and baked goods are delicious, oh boy. I got some blueberry scones to take home and they were scrumptious (we added some creme fresh and blueberries) with coffee for breakfast. The chicken pot pie was amazing. My husband took one bit to taste it but ended up eating the whole thing. The sandwiches were made fresh and nicely toasted. I visited on a Tuesday around 10:30 a.m. and it was pretty busy with lots of folks enjoying themselves inside. Limited parking.

I loved this place. The interior was adorable, and that was just the start. I ordered an iced vanilla latte to be on the safe side, and threw in a raspberry-rhubarb upside down cake. Turns out they make their own vanilla sugar. The latte was really good! I then tried my sister-in-law's mocha and it was even better! The upside down cake was pretty good, but the real showstopper pastry was the pecan roll my husband ordered. Whew! It was crunchy, soft, sweet, but not too sweet. It was perfect. I would've bought 10 of them if they had them. I wish this was closer to me! Or maybe I don't for my wallet's sake.

I've heard a lot about this place so I wanted to check it out. The pastry case looks amazing as you enter and the smell is pleasant. I ordered the Carne sandwich (turkey, bacon & avo) on a roll & chicken and rice soup. The soup was good albeit bland. Could use some seasoning. The sandwich was probably the biggest let down. The the bread was really good but they put 1 sad little slice of turkey, a very small amount of avo. It's more of a bread sandwich than anything else. I recommend adding 1-2 more slices of turkey if you want to make this a great sandwich. People were friendly and helpful. All-in-all, I give a 3 out of 5 mostly for the pastries.

Nice little bakery featuring some traditional Filipino baked goods, as well as traditional Americanized baked goods, & beautifully decorated cakes. So what kine bakery grindz did we pick up? We picked two boxes of Siopao, one filled with chicken, and the other filled with pork. What is a "Siopao"? It's basically the Filipino version of a manapua. Only difference is the filling also has like an egg yolk mixture, mixed with the meats. Very tasty, not too much different from da local style Chinese manapua. We also picked up some rolls, chocolate glazed donuts, and a (custard) Leche Flan. Service here was on point, as the single clerk managing the ordering counter was friendly and efficient. There was quite a bit of foot traffic in this bakery, so it was nice to see a small neighborhood bakery doing well. The next time I'm in Seattle again (if I'm in the neighborhood), garans I'll stop by Despi Delite Bakery to try more of their bakery selections.

The store is spacious with a garage door that I can only imagine would be nice to open on summer days. I ordered their s'mores cake. It can either come in a smoked cake or their dark decadence. I went with the dark decadence. It comes with a toasted marshmallow, graham cracker (house made?), and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on a bed of chocolate sauce. This was *so* decadent. I wanted something sweet yet warm since the weather was getting cold. This would pair nicely with a warm drink which I would get next visit. Curious to try their cookies & ice cream next time. I have a few minor hiccups with my visit. One issue fell with the compostable bowl. I like that it's an earth conscious item, but also it's hard to scrape all the cake without feeling like you are going to get the bowl material scraped off with it. The other thing would their restrooms. You need to go outside the store into another door near the winery next door. It just felt a little sketch late at night. Overall, a nice dessert spot to try if you are in the area or going home after an event at any of the stadiums.

I haven't ever branched out past the #1 or #2, because they're so good. There is something about the bread at Tony's that is a cut above all others in the crowded field of affordable, non-"elevated" bahn mis in S. Seattle and White Center. The hot bar is good too, and has a large variety of dishes and sides. By the register, there is usually a variety of salad rolls, bahn cuon, and sometimes other fresh veg + meat + noodle options. Tony's is my favorite lunch, whether I grab it first thing in the AM, or stop in midday. They also do bulk orders and big cakes that look delicious. P.S. I feel I must also mention that there is some very elegant penmanship on display in signs written in English and Vietnamese--which alone is a strong reason to pay Tony's a visit.

From big tray of chicken wings to fried rice, they have plenty of items which I'll order next time if I'm hosting a party. The grilled pork banh mi was excellent overall. The pork was flavorful and well-seasoned, the fillings were fresh and balanced, and everything came together nicely. The only downside was the baguette, it wasn't as crunchy as I prefer. That said, the overall taste was still very satisfying, and it's definitely a banh mi I'd recommend. If you're someone who likes the traditional banh mi then I'd recommend the House Special, which was the 3 kind of hams with pork or chicken of your choice.
