Although it's not generally what they do, Alex was generous with his time and help sync my new Iphone to my car. I've used this company before for my IPAD and other phones when they had issues and it's always been a good and helpful experience. Thank you...... read more

I have had issues with my iCloud, iPhone and computer. I got tired of the scene at the Apple Store and the waiting and attitudes there. I had a problem with my computer screen. I had a good result with a great guy Manuba. He helped me with a very complicated problem with my emails earlier in the year. He looked over my computer and realized that I needed a new screen and he sent it back and within 2 days I had my computer back with a new screen installed. ( I have Apple Care) These guys are really great. Any problem and I see them. I have happily bypassed the hoops and dancing that is involved with the Apple Store. It's a zoo and each person tells you a different thing. These guys are not afraid to help you with issues regarding emails or new programs that make your Apple products work better. read more

Great company. Very professional, knowledgeable. Replaced my screen on my Mac and gave it a tune up. HIghly recommend them. read more

My MAC needed quite a bit of updating and cleaning out and I was initially apprehensive about leaving it overnight. But I was advised of their safety protocols and left it with them feeling comfortable. They accomplished so much in the 2 days they had it, and then I needed additional help at home with the printers/routers, etc and the tech that came out was amazingly helpful and patient. The best thing of all, he was able to recover many folders that I had not been able to find plus a lost email address that had precious messages in it from my daughter. I want to celebrate! I will always use MAC Mechanic in the future! I am just so very grateful for all they accomplished! Thank you all! read more

I just called to get some information on an external hard drive and Alex gave me so much more information about not only hard drives, but if I wanted to get my computer to work more quickly. He gave options and where to find more information..all without rushing me (I kept asking more questions). I have had them work on my Macs several years ago, and they are still fabulous. I dropped off a beaten down 2010 Macbook Pro with no working WIFI and this store fixed with computer with professionalism, thoroughness, and complete honesty. I first dealt with Jason, who took about 20 minutes to open up the machine for free, just to see if he could quickly spot any noticeable problems. He then checked it in and promised it would be ready in 4-5 days. It did take longer but the store was very kind to call me and explain the delay. I was very impressed with Jason, Justin. I believe it was Justin who even suggested ways I could save money by not repairing certain parts of the computer. In addition, he cleaned up my computer and I feel like it's a new machine now. I highly recommend this place. I would go back in a second. read more

I highly recommend Mac Mechanic! My four year old MacBook died on me a few weeks ago, and it turned out the hard drive was fried. Guess who had never backed up in her life? This gal. I took my sad self to Mac Mechanic and they helped me out!! They immediately diagnosed the problem, clearly explained to me what went wrong, and gave me a quote. For $300 (well, I paid $275 because I had an Axxess deal) they ran a Data Recovery on my old hard drive, got me a new drive, installed it (and it was WAY bigger capacity than my old one, whooooo!!), transferred all the data over and installed a new OSX for me. Sucks for me, they could only get 10 percent back, but they ran the recovery for as long as they could for what I paid. I gave my laptop to them on the Wednesday morning, and I got it back Monday. They updated me on their progress and were extremely friendly and professional. Go see them for anything you need! I will be back to see them if I encounter any issues with my Apple products in the future. read more

Amazing service. When my computer broke in the middle of some serious deadlines, Best buy wanted to have the computer for several days to download the hard drive but not fix the computer. Mac mechanics offered a rental computer with my documents in it, and gave me the diagnostics in one day. They know what they are doing, explain it well, and offer quick solutions to their costumers. They called later to explain how I could take care of my computer better. For example, I had no idea I should leave 20% of my hard drive available. read more

They are first rate. Knowledgeable, resourceful, ready to help. Went above and beyond my expectations.

I had a complicated problem involving my 93 year old mom's 10 year old iMac. Jason was the tech who diagnosed the problem, explained it to me in plain English, and who explained my options, complete with cost. When all was said and done, Jason, on his own initiative, came up with a cost-effective creative solution that got my mom back up and running the same day. My mother was thrilled to be able to check her emails and Skype her grandkids on the other side of the world. The service from Jason was not only technically competent, but it was empathetic and helpful, too. If you have an older Mac of any type, this is the place to go to get a straight answer as to what us possible and competent assistance. read more

Was having issues with an OS update, which turned into issues with my trackpad and keyboard. After a minor customer service bump (I think I caught someone on a bad day) Evan and Alex made everything right and got my laptop working as good as new. Thanks! read more

These guys are great. My wife has an "elderly" MacBook that wouldn't charge and is making a loud noise (drive). I suspected it was the charger. What I liked was that he said very clearly that he would not recommend putting much into repairing such an old machine (even though he would stand to make money if we did that), then listened while we explored options. He also let me drop it off and charged it for me during that day. When I picked it up at the end of the day, he charged me not a cent, despite my offering. My wife ended up ordering a charger so that we could use the machine for now and then buying a new one online. read more

I love you can just walk in to get help. I've had to go here a few times for different needs like help backing up my computer, figuring out why I was getting error messages, scanning my computer(s) for malware, etc. The guys there have been so knowledgeable and helpful and I'm so grateful they are in town. Everything I've had them do has been very reasonably priced. read more

Today I was impressed with a young adult...(it doesn't happen that often lately) so I wanted to share with the world the "AMAZING AL" This guy was cool, knowledgable and efficient in every possible thing imaginable regarding computers; not to mention probably only 19. He fixed my computer, cleaned the screen with magical precision and made me laugh all in 20 minutes...so when you need professional help with your computer and don't mind having a great time while you wait; gotta check out this place :) Thanks Al, Another happy customer, ~ Randi read more

My iMac had slowed to a crawl. I took it to MacMechanic, with whom I've done prior repairs on other Macs over many years. Their new location on upper State is great! Easy access and plenty of parking! I explained my problem and left my iMac with them. The mechanic (Jason) quickly isolated the problem, detailed a few options, and we settled on a repair approach. Jason kept me up to date as we had agreed to try to salvage the hard drive data. Turned out that despite the attempt, it would take a more aggressive approach to save the data (Jason had options for that too) so I opted just to have them replace the defective drive causing the issue. That work was done quickly and I got my computer back later that day. After getting the iMac home and restoring it to my last Time Machine backup, everything is back up and running, as fast as new. I was very pleased with the whole process, from drop-off, analysis and communication thru final resolution. I highly recommend their repair service! read more

Fantastic service especially during lockdown. Fast efficient and very good customer service in resolving problems with my old favourite MacBook Pro read more

Mac Mechanics is GONE!! It is now under new ownership 'Secure Pro' and I can't begin to tell you how ineptly it is run now!! Dropped off my computer and called many days in a row to find out what was wrong, with no call backs! When I finally went in person, the place had one customer and I had to wait 10 minutes while there were several guys in the back. No one even acknowledged my being there. Finally got my computer back that day and was told they hadn't gotten to it yet. So why not answer all my messages and tell me this??? Really there are several more things of shockingly poor service, but I do not want to waste any more of my time on them. Beware, it is not the wonderful place it use to be!!!! Sadly. read more

Excellent service and prices. After taking some water damage my MacBook Air did not want to turn on. After taking the computer to the Apple Store and another repair company (who both wanted to replace the logic board and top panel with keyboard at a cost of $500-$750) I brought it here where they assured me that the damage wasn't that bad and that it would only require a $200 water damage cleaning and a couple of minor replacement parts. In the end I paid $329 to get my computer running again as if nothing ever happened. I felt like they really wanted to help me get my computer running again for the least cost possible, and my technician, Manibu (hope I spelled his name right) went above and beyond to help me and get the job done quickly. I highly recommend iMechanics. read more

"Kill 'em with kindness" should be the motto at iMechanics. My first business experience with these Apple computer experts was not only wonderful, it was done gratis - as in free. Super smart, honest, and interested in giving a great customer experience... iMechanic is not just recommended, it's highly recommended. read more

Justin is AMAZING! I went in with my MacBook Pro which crashed and thought for sure I lost everything. I couldn't get an appt with the Genius Bar for 5 days but a friend recommended mac super store. At first Justin wasn't too hopeful about recovering anything but asked if I had time to wait, I said yes and ten mouths later he comes out excited with good news that not only could he recover everything my hard drive wasn't fried. He proceeded to clean up my computer of adware and stuff I can't even begin to understand AND walked me through different options to back up my computer either with an external hard drive or cloud base. I was in and out in less than an hour and had the BEST experience I could. Whoever the new owner is of mac super store better keep up the same experience! Thanks again Justin! read more

This is THE place to go in SB for Mac repair. Came in early one morning and was immediately attended to. Max and Daniel were amazing! They fixed my problem before my eyes and didn't even charge me!! So sweet and helpful. Will never go to the Apple Store again as they were incredibly rude and just couldn't get rid of me fast enough. Mac superstore is it!! Thanks guys! read more

Fantastic place! I too spilled liquid on my Mac Book Pro, and, after visiting Apple and getting their astonishingly high estimate to fix my machine, I thankfully visited Mac Mechanics, where they quickly diagnosed the nature of my problem, which was promptly fixed for a modicum of the price! Thank you so, so much!! They also have a very nifty tracking system so you can go online and see the progress of your machine! read more

I'm a local Santa Barbaran and this is my go-to for any tech/computer help. Anytime I am in need I go straight here and always have great service! We tried "everything" to fix our mid 2007 Mac before taking it to the Mac mechanic. Before this service we had only gone to the Apple store. This experience was so positive that I will do all of my Apple business with this company. I love how their site is set up so that you're able to follow the progress on your machine. Jason worked on our machine and was extremely helpful, professional, and his documentation kept us informed of the progress. I also appreciate that the hours and hours of trying various solutions to get to the root of the problem were not part of the final bill. We only paid for parts and installation and as a bonus were able to use our axxess card! I am highly satisfied with Mac Mechanic. read more

This is a great place to get work done on you Mac products. They were able to help me. Knowledgeable, polite, and competent.

I am absolutely astonished at how friendly, quick, and efficient the service is here! After nothing short of a nightmare with other Mac repair stores, MacSuperstore recovered my data the same day I dropped off my broken hard drive, and their price was a quarter of what I was quoted at previous places. I will most certainly always come back to them for my Mac issues! I highly recommend going to them! read more

Incredible customer service. I've experienced buying, selling and repot through them and they've always been knowledgable and considerate.

I do not have enough nice things to say about this place. I came in two years ago because the screen on my macbook just went black. (This was when it was called MacMechanic- they changed their name to MacSuperstore). The customer service was great, and my computer was fixed the next day. Today, I went in because my screen ( on the same old MacBook) started to do another funky thing and they fixed it right there in front of me! I was out of the shop in 10 minutes. Thank goodness because I am in the middle of finals, and was stressing hard core. These guys are angels! Manabu was the tech support guy who helped me out! Great guy- thanks Manabu! He comes off as smart, confident, and has great customer service. He was honest with his assessment of my computer, and talked about what he was doing as he was fixing my computer in front of me. He gave me great suggestions. Afterwards, I asked about keyboard covers, and he showed me their products, and suggested other websites I could check out because they did not carry what I wanted. I LIKE THAT (I do not enjoy being hustled to buy products in a store). If they had the product to fit my ancient laptop, I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT because I want my money to go to this place. I will totally be back and will totally refer my friends to this place! read more
