Eh. It was very underwhelming. It took a long time for our food to come out, it was not worth waiting for. To drink I had Cinnamon Toast Crunch coffee. It was just some basic coffee that has a $8 price tag. Not a latte or anything, just regular coffee. I didn't think it had much flavor at all. For my meal I ordered the Madame Baked Omelette. As described on the menu it was supposed to be Brie, Granny Smith apples and sausage. The Brie and apples were there, but it was lacking sausage. I didn't see it taste any sausage at all. It might have been finely crumbled, but it was basically non existent. The omelette came with either potatoes or fruit. I ordered with fruit and it came out with potatoes. Our waitress did rectify the situation quickly. My friend ordered a side of fries and pretzels. For her drink she got s'mores coffee. Eh. I was looking forward to coming here and I left disappointed. read more

I visited here for the first time to get brunch with my friends and loved it! The vibe is cute for a brunch with some friends and the food is 10/10. I wanted to order the whole menu. There was so many options and the service was fast. Overall, the banana bread stood out and ever since I crave it! I recommend 100% read more

Ambiance is adorable. Great natural lighting, cute decor. Went for brunch on a Saturday at 11:30, was pretty empty. We ordered the BEC sliders for an appetizer, I think the buns were toasted with some butter bc they were delicious. Entree was the Florentine (I did ask for the hollandaise sauce on the side, but it came on it) regardless it was good. The potatoes it came with were perfect. Phone didn't eat first read more

I went here the other day with one of my girlfriends. I had high hopes, I've seen pictures of the inside of this place and it looked adorable. The atmosphere lived up to the hype, however they were severely understaffed. Our server was the only server in house as well as the host and bartender. That's very overwhelming! Food was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Coffee was great. The different mugs remind me of a place we went to in Beacon. Awesome and creative menu. Definitely did a nice job with it. Drink menu was excellent as well. Loved the small biscuits they share upon sitting down. The sweet potato appetizer was really good. I couldn't decide if I preferred the sweet or savory bc they were both delicious. Portions are large. The lox and avocado Benedict was delish as was the omelette. I like the decor but I dislike the chairs. No place to hang your pocketbook and they are really cold and not comfortable. Maybe install hooks on the tables. read more

I wanted to give a good review to boost up the other bad ones. I could tell the staff was stressed out. We had a reservation and were seated. We waited a while for a waitress but we were given complementary drinks. The drinks need a little work not great. All the food was delicious and hot. The place is so cute in a great location. I wish them the best luck - once the kinks get worked out this place could be awesome. read more

This place was very good! I love that it's strictly brunch. They are only open until 4 I wanna say. It's very clean and tidy. Totally minimalist which I do like for the place. The food has big portions which I do like. Definitely go there hungry. The manager kept on coming out and asking everyone, including us, that was there if the food was good and hope everyone was having a good time. The drinks were good as well. read more

Cute spot, food was alright. The avocado toast had thick bread and not a lot of flavor but edible. The platter my partner ordered was the lumber jack the bacon was really dry and hard to eat and not a lot of flavor again. But edible. Service was great overall cute spot for an aesthetic outing but food could be a bit better. read more

Mack's is officially the hottest mess of a restaurant I've ever been to, this place is an absolute sinking ship for so many reasons, and I'll start by giving the reason why I gave two stars. 1) Decor- The place does look very nice, alluring and bright, tight space but they do have an upstairs, bar area has plenty of seats and people can walk between tables without being too on top of the other person. 2) Our Waitress- Jaimee S is amazing. She was the shining star of our disaster of a lunch. She was funny, personable, apologetic, upbeat, professional, down to earth, and just handling the situation the best she could which was very sweet. Everything else is a dumpster fire. The drinks were terribly mixed, the rest of the staff looked miserable, the kitchen was in rebellion, and I'm pretty sure the Chef lied on his resume. No one can communicate, they fired the wrong orders, the bussers were getting flack for stuff they didn't do, the potatoes weren't flavored, they delivered the wrong food, the wait was over an hour, it was just an absolute disaster. On the upside, there is so much potential. The menu has great options, if the kitchen knows how to cook any of it, and the variety is massive, they just got overwhelmed. The owner does not know how to run a restaurant. Simple as that. Jaimee really made us laugh the whole thing off, because we could see into the kitchen and see staff literally screaming at each other, the chef just throwing up his hands saying forget this, and everyone else in the restaurant was pissed. Macks, get it together, or you'll be gone before anybody even thinks of giving you a try. If the manager reads this, give Jaimee a raise or make her head server/manager. She probably does your job better than you do anyway. read more

Went to Mack's for brunch on a Friday afternoon. They were able to accommodate us with no issues. The place is super cute! The staff were attentive and the food was great. We shared the French toast bites. I went with the baked Muenster & Bacon. For a drink I went with the peach Bellini. read more

Don't be fooled by the menu. It sounds delicious but that's if you ever get your food and even then, it'll taste like you aren't eating anything. Super cute asthetic, love the look of the place and that's where it ends. Service was nonexistent which is incredible given that there are so many people working and they all look busy. No one will check on you, they'll bring you a ton of water but that's it. Be prepared to flag someone down for every need. Better yet, put all your asks in at once because they won't be back. Waited upwards of 40 min for our food... I'm talking eggs, steak, pancakes and French toast. What's the hold up? Food was cold and no flavor at all. I ordered canoli stuffed French toast and you'd expect it to be bursting with sweetness. Nope, tasted like plain bread. My side order then took another 15 minutes to come, cold and after I was done eating. Not once were we checked in on. Never again. Horrific service, terrible food, not a single reason to come back. read more

We went to Mack's on a Sunday at 10am. Was expecting there to be a wait because we were a large party. We got in and there wear chocolate dipped biscuits with whipped cream at the front counter to sample. A great little bite. We were seated upstairs right away. The service was good. Our waiter was attentive and the young man bussing the table was very helpful. I had the Burlington Benny. Poached eggs, cooked perfectly, with maple bacon, melted cheddar cheese and hollandaise sauce served on a fresh biscuit. Delicious. The apple corned beef has was good but could have used a little more seasoning. My wife had the vegan street tacos which she said were great. My daughter had the cannoli French toast and my son had the banana bread French toast. Both loved theirs. Looking forward to going back and trying more. read more

Gorgeous new brunch spot in Babylon! Upon arrival we got little pastries which were light & yummy & the best little surprise! The space itself is stunning. When you walk into the back room it opens up to this light, bright space with greenery & lights everywherTruly couldn't decide what to get because everything on the menu sounded amazing. Ultimately decided on the vegan huevos rancheros which were absolutely divine. Sometimes vegan dishes are hit or miss, but they nailed this dish. The eggs were fluffy and the flavors didn't taste fake. The potatoes were crispy and seasoned perfectly. My espresso martini with toasted marshmallow was a wonderful way to start the day. read more

I am not surprised to find they have closed for good. Was going to host a party there but after a week of trying to get a hold of the owner I booked somewhere else. 3.5/4 but rounding up for the food The food was delicious. The best eggs Benedict I've ever had. However the chairs were these l teeny tiny high top chairs and I'm a thick thighed lady, always have been and I was not on these chair comfortably at all. Then we got some mysterious biscuits they were definitely welcomed but no one told us what it was or what was in it we had to ask the accompanying table. Our server was the bartender and the bar was empty except for two couples. He seemed pretty annoyed by having to wait on us and was not present at all and rarely did a check in. The coffee wasn't great BUT the orange juice blew me away? It's very cute inside but so so hot. I will come back to give Mack's another try, just needs to get it's footing a bit more. read more

We enjoy our breakfast. The spot was culture but it's totally different food. It's open for breakfast and it's a good alternative to Glenn's which is just across. We had the banana bread French toast. It was dense and the syrup help to enhance the flavor. My friend has the hash w eggs and loved it. My other friend had the special it was a benny w avocado bacon and cheese she loved it. I had the French benny it had ham and Gruyère cheese both eggs were poached perfectly. The muffin could've been toasted a bit more but it was still a good bite. Potato's that came we're just ok. Would've loved maybe some onion and peppers added in to add to the flavor. I had an ice tea and my friends had coffee both were adequate. Our server, Anthony, was great he checked in and made suggestions. My favorite is when others help and all the foods served together. I love the back room because it's got a skylight so natural light wo the heat from the sun. The doors mounted ad a wall deco was a bit off but a good update. read more

I really wanted to try this place, and be like wow, what a gem. Nope. We ordered lattes (either hot or iced: we asked for hot), when we got them the milk was COLD, then the server took them and microwaved them.. which is crazy because lattes are supposed to be made with warm/hot milk. And they were $8 each. The food... it was OK. Just like any other american brunch place. Bland. read more

Wow, what an awesome find. Mack's in Babylon is a breakfast/lunch spot that is innovative, relaxed, and serves really good food. If you like Jams in Massapequa Park, you'll love Mack's. Mack's offers food that is a step up from the usual diner, it's creative and the setting is bright; it's like a warm country home setting, with a lot of well placed rustic decor. I've had lunch and breakfast here and the portions are just right - just a little more than I can eat, LOL! The fried chicken was juicy and not dry, the breakfast potatoes were really delicious and they were very generous with the bacon. The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming. They showed me the upstairs room where one can rent out for a private party; it was like stepping "outside" to a beer garden. I heard they just opened and were working out any kinks, but I didn't notice anything lacking. Give them a try and you won't be disappointed. read more

I actually went twice in one week because j thought the first time was maybe a fluke - I was wrong. Once on a Thursday evening and once on a Saturday morning for brunch. The Thursday evening was quiet as expected, we walked in and there were 2 other tables eating and one table that looked like they just left. Quickly after we sat down, the other 2 tables left and all 3 tables were left untouched and left with stacks of dirty plates, napkins etc, for the length of our dinner (about an hour and a half). Towards the end they started to clean up one and then stopped and left the big tub on the table. The 3 workers that were there stood by/sat at the bar with their drinks and Chit chatted and texted. Not a soul was in the dining room but my friend and I. The waitress seemed bothered ontop of that to even be helping us. We ordered the blackened salmon and tomato soup with grilled cheese. The smallest piece of salmon, and like 4 sprigs of asparagus that was chewy. The grilled cheese and soup came without a spoon and it took us a while to get one, and the soup was more like sauce than soup. Fast forward to Saturday for brunch we get seated, party of 4, and we order our drinks. 2 of us get our drinks immediately while the other 2 waited a bit. After a while our waitress comes back to say the espresso machine is down and she cannot make one of the drinks and then after a bit longer comes back with his drink but no 4th drink. The food showed up before the last drink. The coffee was bitter to start. I ordered a Benedict - poached eggs came out cold and not poached but almost cooked entirely through. The lox in my dish were old tasting and the biscuit (I think that's what it was) was hard and stale. An order of the marinated steak and eggs was received with old overcooked cold steak and cold scrambled eggs. The eggs were supposed to come with cheese and when asked for, the waitress brought 2 cold slices of kraft American cheese. The chicken and waffles came with an undercooked, soggy, waffle, with piping hot chicken. Last dish seemed to make it out ok-ish. Bacon was hard as a rock tho. The staff seemed better on the Saturday but the waitress we had seemed to have no idea what was happening. it's possible it was a first day or first few shifts so I'm taking that with a grain of salt because she was kind and attentive for the most part. The staff needs to either be spoken to, changed, or there needs to be adult supervision on deck at all times. Or just better management period. The chefs ...I'm not even sure what to say about them. Do better I guess? Mack's has potential but honestly wouldn't go back. Extremely disappointing. read more

Service was mediocre at best, the place looks nice but we waited way too long for even our initial greet from the waiter. Food was ok.

The chicken and waffle was ok, chicken was tuff. The sandwich sunny side up eggs was not gooey at all. It was hard in the middle that was oily. The omelette with the Gorgonzola cheese was good. The cinnamon bites was good. The service was good except for when I ordered two orange juices, I didn't receive them. They were on the counter, waiting to be sent to me. I was going to get up and get them. The place is nice and bright with the sun light coming in from the sky. There are some flies the fly around that can annoy you. read more

So where do I begin, walking in, I liked the ambiance and the restaurant's decor immensely. It was bright and airy; really beautiful actually. Upon sitting down, we were warmly greeted and read through the extensive menu unsure of what to get. The service was pretty prompt and they got our order in fast. We got the french toast bites to start, my mother got the toast & eggs and I got the lox avocado toast. The french toast bites were decent. Nothing special or cutting edge. Edible and mediocrely good. The toast & eggs came out; and the eggs were abysmal. Scrambled into a flat mess with zero fluff whatsoever. They also forgot the toast until us mentioning it. The lox and avocado toast was a thick difficult to chew piece of bread with avocado slapped on that had no taste. The lox was just there. They forgot to season it completely, I had to request everything seasoning but even with the seasoning, this dish could not be saved. The potatoes had zero seasoning as well. Overall, Mack's should look into how to season food properly because our meals were tasteless. I had two bites of my lox avo toast and left it behind because it was not worth taking home, taking up space in my fridge. read more

I went to Mack's this afternoon with one of my girlfriends for her birthday. Impressed is an understatement! The food was one of the best we've ever eaten. I wanted to try everything on the menu; and I will definitely back to do so! The decor was very charming; It looks like a lot of thought and effort went into decorating. Service was above and beyond. They also have a private room upstairs for parties That looks like an indoor garden. We ordered the French toast bites as an appetizer which were sweet, soft AND crunchy! We also got a plate of the croquettes that were served with a creamy horseradish sauce which we devoured!! My friend got the French Benny that was so delish! And I chose the Vietnamese Shrimp Banh Mi which came with a rainbow slaw, greens and a spicy aioli sauce; out of this world! For my drink, I chose the Fig Margarita. I was a little nervous trying something so different, but when I tasted it, I loved it. The only downfall of Mack's was, deciding on what to order!! It was that good. Definitely a hidden gem!!!! 10/10 would recommend. read more

After following MACK's on Insta, since they opened, we finally went!! I knew exactly what I wanted. I ordered the Cannoli French Toast, no whipped cream, Biscuits with gravy and my husband had a Burger with mushrooms and Swiss. He loved the Burger. The Biscuits and gravy were delicious. After seeing the Cannoli French toast on Insta and waiting all these months to have it, the presentation was a let down. I did not ask for whipped cream. It was presented as a closed sandwich. The cannoli filling was thin and melted from being in between the hot bread. No chocolate chips thrown on top. It was very good, but if I go back, I would ask for more filling and chips- that's what makes the dish! Our server was attentive until we were finished. We sat with dirty dishes in front of us for at least 5-8 minutes until I asked another server for our check. Our server brought the check and again we sat until I asked another server if someone could take the payment. Our server came and collected the payment so we could leave. I may return to try other menu items that I think I would like to try. read more

Came in on a Saturday afternoon around 1:00pm. Cute atmosphere, but that's about it. Service was nonexistent. Takes forever for one of the staff members to check on you, although they are walking by, looking busy. My husband and I ordered "the local" 2 eggs over easy, toast, bacon & home fries. sounds pretty basic but boy, it was certainly a challenge for this restaurant to execute. 3 of our 4 eggs were NOT over easy and were cooked well done. The toast was simply cold bread. We spoke with wait staff, requesting our 3 eggs to be over easy, as originally requested & for toasted bread. Each item slowly trickled out, one egg, then a plate with 2 more eggs, then the toast. this allowed us to eat our meal in rounds, i mean who wanted to eat together anyway at a restaurant??!! Upon receiving our bill, the waiter was so kind to mention that he "only" charged us for 1 of the 3 "extra" eggs we ordered. We explained that we did not order extra eggs, we had to have our original order redone, as it was incorrect. after explaining this to him, he finally agreed to remove the charge. the toast came out..:toasted on one side, but hey, that's one more side than we originally received. nothing is on the table, nor presented with the meal. So as our food sits there getting cold, we needed to flag down someone, anyone for butter, coffee refill, water and ketchup. the menu states "add corned beef hash +3" yet when we got the bill, they charged us $8; insisting that we ordered a side order. Again, after speaking with 2 separate people about the charge, it was finally removed. after all of this, we asked to speak to the manager & we're told that s/he stepped out for a couple hours; which completely makes sense after seeing how this place is run If you are thinking of giving this place a try-don't. don't get fooled by the menu, go across the street to Glen's Dinette. would not recommend to anyone. ****edit in response to owners reply, as this does not allow me to directly respond to comments. As stated above,I did ask our waiter to speak to the person in charge & was told they had stepped out. A woman with long brown hair corrected the price for the hash, after first stating we were wrong, only for us to reread it to her again demonstrating we are correct. As the owner, I am surprised you do not know your own menu. In addition, as the owner, it would have been nice for you to introduce yourself upon approaching our table. read more

So I would like to start by saying that the young staff members really did their best to hold this restaurant together, so I don't fault them and they should be applauded. Our party of 5 had a 1:00 brunch reservation on a Sunday. 2 of us got there at 1:40, figured we'd get a mimosa at the bar while we waited. We soon realized that was never happening, as the young bartender was the only person making cocktails for the entire packed restaurant, and there was no chance of getting a drink at the bar. Mmmkay... we felt bad for her so didn't complain. The staff was clearly stressed and forced to turn tables away, didn't have the manpower to even start a waitlist. The rest of our party arrived, we were sat about 1:15, ordered drinks but did not get our first round until almost 2 o'clock. (I had been there since 12:40 lol... so was getting grumpy) The food took a while of course, but was pretty good at least. Our 22 year old waitress was adorable, and ended up making our cocktails following the recipe, and did a good job on them. So here's my confusion. Where the hell was the restaurant owner or manager? What were you thinking leaving a packed restaurant to be run by a few 22 year olds? Yes the life of a restaurateur is tough, but sorry... you have to work weekends. Your place is being held together by a bunch of kids who are probably learning the most important lessons of their lives at your expense. The place is super cute, food and cocktails were decent, but we'll never go back. There are too many choices in the area to deal with that! read more

Terrible service. Came with a party of 8 before dinner rush and host was bothered to accommodate us. We overheard them say "oh great, we have another party of eight tonight." mind you, the restaurant was empty at this time. Our kids have numerous allergies and we are always thorough with speaking to our server about their menu. Even after giving a printed list of their allergies they still made a mistake and had to prepare all three of our kids' meals all over again as they were made with fries that were prepared in a shared fryer with seafood. Also, an entire entree was forgotten and never came, which we saw we were charged for. Unfortunately, we we will not be returning and cannot recommend this establishment. read more

Mediocre at best. I am truly disappointed with my recent experience at Mack's. As a vegan I was really excited to try this and bring a friend who is also vegan with me. The vegan menu looks very enticing and seems to be really thought out. Without question we place an order for an appetizer and drinks and ask our server some questions about the menu. He didn't seem too versed on the vegan menu and couldn't answer our questions which led him to the kitchen to ask the chef. Based off his response he still seemed unsure and we really just asked what the vegan burger consisted of. Well, we ordered it anyway (we were starving) and our appetizer came out and a few minutes later, our entree. (We also asked for two sides of fries) The "bacon burger" came out on two pieces of toast..... one piece of bacon and some vegan cheese- no ketchup/sauce etc nor does it say on the menu how the burger is dressed. It was the saddest sandwich I have ever eaten given my friend and I have been vegan over 7 years now and we knew exactly where each item on the burger came from. A silly little veggie pattie, probably morning star or dr.preggers and TOAST. The nerve of them to charge $18 for this, not to mention the fries were $6 extra!!! It was seriously one of the most poorly thought out menu items and because of this, I will not be returning or recommending this place. There is no need to have an entire menu of poorly thought out food items just to cater to vegans. You might as well remove the menu. read more

Went to Mack's for breakfast. Had to wait for a table ( even though there seemed to be some open) when we finally sat we were given our water bottles ...without cups had to ask for glasses... the server came back to take our order while telling him he interrupted us and shouted to another server across the room. The food took awhile to come out. When it arrived We realized we were never given silverware. No one was around for a few minutes so my husband got up to ask for some. He was told he had to wait they were just putting them together...... when we started to eat the only thing worth eating was the potatoes on the plate. The avocado was not ripe and the my poached eggs Were Completely cooked through... we ate a few bites asked for the check. The server came back to ask how everything was we told him not good and you could clearly See The plates were barely touched. He said "im sorry to hear that" rang us up and didn't say another word. Our brunch experience here was generally positive, but the excessive noise level on a Sunday was a drawback.
