I went to eat at Corrales on Friday night and accidentally left my phone behind…read more When my wife went back to pick it up, using the location from Find My iPhone, the same server who had waited on me told her she didn't recognize me or know who I was. My wife was there with our two little children, trying to explain what I had been wearing, who I was with, and where we had been sitting. She was still ignored and received very little help from the staff. Eventually, I did get my phone back, and I'm thankful for that. But what bothers me is everything surrounding it. I tipped more than 20% that night. I always try to leave my table as clean as possible out of respect for the server and busser. I've been coming here for years. I genuinely love the food and have always enjoyed the atmosphere. I even have memories of getting ice cream with my son from the place next door, which I understand is under the same ownership. That's why this experience hurt more than it probably would have somewhere else. Maybe this was the actions of one server. Maybe there was a misunderstanding. I can't say for certain what every staff member knew. But from my wife's experience, no one seemed willing to help her, and the way the situation was handled felt dishonest, dismissive, and disrespectful. Something as simple as returning someone's lost phone should not have turned into this. I have a lot of good memories at Corrales, and I truly loved coming here. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't see myself coming back. Thanks for the memories, Corrales. I sincerely wish this situation had been handled differently. While the sides are kind of pricey for what they are, the tortas and burritos are quite good and reasonably priced. I particularly like the chicken torta - nice add with avocado. You can make it spicier with a salsa or hot sauce but it's great just how it is as well. The burrito is a good size with shredded chicken which is juicy and really doesn't need anything (but guacamole never hurts). Quick but it closes on the early side some days so if you're looking for dinner, come early before they close. This location is basically attached to a gas station - but don't be alarmed - it's good.
