Mobile Mac Techs is the best! I had an issue with my Apple IMAC 27" where the fan was continuously blowing real loud. It was so annoying. I took it to another Apple repair shop near by and they told me it was the logic board and that it would be $600 to repair. I thought this was outrageous due to the fact he didn't even do a diagnostic in the back. He just looked at it. Frustrated with them I left & I found I Mobile Mac Techs here on YELP and it seems people have great things to say about Alex Royal there. So I called Alex he told me he wasn't sure over the phone bring it to him & he would charge me a $35 diagnostic to take a look. and if the problem was too severe he would only charge me $35 for the diagnostic and return my machine to me. I thought this was very fair and honest. He called me the same day and told me the only problem was with a $20 sensor to the fan. He only charged me $74 for the part and labor! I am so glad I didn't pay those other guys $600 for the logic board repair or i would have got ripped off. Alex is a very honest, fair and straight forward professional. I had a bad experience with MacFixed and I'll just say that: do you want your laptop to be fixed by someone that spends hours answering bad reviews with a "you are wrong, I'm right" attitude? I thought the answer is "yes, I'm okay with that as what are the odds it'll happen to me given all these 5 stars reviews?!" Well, apparently high. It started when I found a new issue in my Mac after getting it back from the original repair. When sharing my issue w/ Alex, he constantly talked over me and started reading unrelated facts from my service report to, I think, show he knows what he's talking about. Thing is, it doesn't matter. He wasn't willing to fix the issue that was most probably caused by them and has just created an unhappy customer that will never recommend his services. Instead of spending so much time, and therefore money - given your hourly rate, consider going the extra mile for your customers. The hinge on my Macbook Air broke so I took it to the Apple store & they quoted me a price that was close to the cost of a new Macbook Air. Obviously I told them that the price was too high for me and at that price I could almost buy a new Apple Macbook Air. They then referred me to Mobile Mac Techs and said they have a good reputation of doing fine work and their prices are reasonable. I was surprised that Apple would refer me to a third party company but I figured if Apple recommends them they must be good. I called and spoke with a gentleman named Alex and right away he was familiar with my issue so i brought it to him for repair. He had the repair completed the same day even though he told me 24-48 hours!. Wow I surprised! And the price was less than half of what Apple quoted me originally. Cracked my 15" MacBook Pro Retina Display screen one evening. An hour following that, I emailed Mobile Mac Techs and received a call within the next 20 mintutes to set up an appointment. During the appointment, it turned out that the screen I had bought to replace my old one was defected. At first, Alex first told me that I would have to return it, but he didn't want to give up on me knowing that I needed the laptop as soon as possible for school. Instead, he tried his best to fix the situation and he did! He did much more work than he originally planned to do b/c the defected screen, but even with the extended labor, he replaced my laptop screen within an hour or so. I had to replace my 12 in Powerbook G4 screen Model A1010. I bought a replacement screen online and brought both to Alex. It paid him to put a second hard-drive into my mac mini and when I took at home and still had problems he helped troubleshoot with me over the phone.
