I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I just don't love the macarons. The texture wasn't there and it felt like the macarons were sitting for a while. I also didn't love the flavors, they weren't coming thru or flavorful. The best one we had was the birthday cake but the other ones were disappointing. The space inside is nice though! Staff was nice too. Just wish the macarons were better.

Great variety of flavors! The flavors are also very distinct which is sometimes rare for macarons. Also their Thursday bogo free deal is unbeatable for the price- we got 24 macarons for $30 with their bogo.

Popped into this adorable storefront over the weekend because I saw they'd just opened! We got a 6 pack of Macarons. The employee encouraged us to sign up for rewards program and gave us a free additional macaron, and upon seeing that my boyfriend's birthday had just passed, he offered us a second free macaron! Service was wonderful, the macarons were delightful both in flavor and texture, and the store is so cute and clean! While I won't be indulging in macarons all the time, I would definitely come back if I was craving them. We got Early Grey Tea, Snickerdoodle, Birthday Cake, Coffee, Chocolate Strawberry, 2 Caramel, and one Black Raspberry Chocolate. The raspberry was my favorite of all of them, but I don't think there's a bad one in the bunch!

It's been a while since I was at Macaron Bar, and by "a while" I mean I'm pretty sure my first visit here was back before multiple macaron shops opened up across the city. Now it feels like there are multiple macaron bakeries in the city and surrounding neighborhoods. Disclaimer: I haven't gone out of my way to try each one of them (yet). That said, I liked what I sampled at this particular establishment. Macaron Bar itself isn't a Pittsburgh-specific business, but according to their website, they do work with nearby businesses when creating seasonal and local flavors in their different markets. They mention partnering with Millie's Homemade Ice Cream in Pittsburgh specifically, so now you know who is partially responsible for the ice cream sandwiches being sold here alongside the macarons! I say "partially" since it looks like Macaron Bar bakes the French-style cookies that contain the Millie's ice cream we all know and love. With their powers combined, tasty treats are made! As for the macarons themselves, there's a little bit of everything here. Classics like chocolate, vanilla, salted caramel, and red velvet are available, but you should definitely try some of the other flavors they serve up! I'm a big fan of the amaretto cheesecake and black raspberry chocolate ones. And it's probably worth visiting throughout the year as well to see if any seasonal flavors have rotated onto the menu. Next time your sweet tooth strikes, this is definitely a place worth visiting to satisfy it; and you can also grab some coffee to wash everything down. Enjoy!

Had a craving for something sweet and stumbled upon this joint. It is a huge place with macaron, coffee, and tea. We ordered the churro macaron and it was perfectly fluffy on the inside and crunch on the outside. It had a great churro flavor. Most of the macarons I've had in the past have a hint of flavor, but I loved that you could distinctly taste the churro in this one.

I'm a huge fan of this place. High ceilings with an all white layout. Perfect for all of your dessert IG pics. Prices here are reasonable and the macaroons are on point. My favorite flavors include lemon lavender, matcha green tea, pistachio, toasted coconut, red velvet and earl grey tea. The containers are great if you want 6 or 12 at a time. They do feature an info card in each box so it shows you which flavor. Even after 48 hours in the boxes the textures were still on point. Highly recommend this place if you want a nice variety of macaroons.

I stopped in here yesterday after work to redeem the Yelp week special, which was buy a 12 piece macaron box and get a 6 piece box for free. I got there around 3:30 PM and the store was empty. I was hoping it would be so I could take my time and look around without feeling rushed. I was quickly greeted by a sweet young man (I didn't catch his name). With the offer, you can pick whichever macarons you want; there are no certain flavors you have to choose from. There weren't many macarons out on the floor, but there are containers of macarons in their back refrigerator. Which looking around I noticed how clean the space is- literally and decoratively. The space is a lot of white with pops of color through, which I thought was a nice touch. They also have an open kitchen in the back, so I'm guessing they offer macaron making classes; which would be a fun thing to do! My experience in store was great. The guy helping me told me how long they can be out in room temperature (one day), in the fridge (a few days) and in the freezer (up to one month). He also included a flavor card so I'll know which flavor is which, once I get home. Naturally, I could not wait to try them so I had two yesterday evening. I tried the dark chocolate and the birthday cake one. They both were super light and chewy (in a good way) with just enough sweetness. They were so good! I will definitely be back here to fill my macaron cravings! Thanks to Yelp for highlighting this place to try out!

I came here craving something sweet, and the Macaron Bar did not disappoint! I decided to purchase a box of 6, and was slightly overwhelmed with choices. If I could, I would've bought one of each! Thankfully, I was given some insight on customer favorites and the seasonal flavors. I ended up choosing: salted caramel, chocolate strawberry, earl grey tea, lemon lavender, red velvet, and strawberry mint. I loved the feel of the space, with plenty of small tables for seating, colorful decor, and free wi-fi.

Literally the best macaroons I've ever tasted! Highly recommend this place. The service is always a wonderful experience!

I recently placed an order to send to my friend for Mother's Day. I did all of this online. They were very good with notifying me when the item shipped. They arrived a day early for Mothers Day. The only odd thing to me was that they shipped out of Cincinnati, OH. Upon doing some research they do have store there also so that's probably why. My friend loved them! She said they were packaged real good with an ice pack. It's nice that the ordering process was super easy!

Great ambience and lots of flavor options. The staff is very friendly as well. Cute packaging and interior decorations of the space.

I was glad I finally had the opportunity to check out the new location of this business. The other location is at Ross Park Mall which is a kiosk. I had the opportunity to meet and interview Kyle the owner who told me about their projects for this location. They do offer baking classes that cost $95.00 for a 3 hour session. I was amazed by the fact that they are filling up quickly. With the class you get to make your own macaron and are given a box to take home. The business is now fully open and in addition to a large entry area before you approach the counter, they have a vast baking area in the back along with a coffee stand. The coffee they get comes from Lancaster and they are expanding the concept to include more baked goods. I was especially interested in trying out one of the ice cream sandwich macarons but Kyle told me that they had just baked the shells and needed time to cool down so they could be filled with Millie's ice cream located in nearby Shadyside. He did take the time to show me what the cooked shells of the sandwich looked like and they were inviting. He also told me that Ross Park Mall kiosk will soon be selling these ice cream sandwiches as well. The European meringue looked tempting but seemed a bit big for me to have for dessert. I settled for two holiday special macaroons-gingerbread and eggnog. Macarons sell for $2.50 each or you can get a small box of 6 for $13.00. Kyle gave me a card with all the regular flavors on it in case I wanted to order in the future. I ate both of them in the store. The eggnog was okay but I really loved the gingerbread. It is his vision to decorate the place since the walls are barren with various paintings, etc that will give a more homey feel to the business. We talked about the spring holidays (especially Passover) where macarons are most popular. He told me he never tried working with almonds but thanked me for my suggestion and will look into it. He thanked me for my holiday ideas and assured me that the next time I visit he would make sure I would get a macaron ice cream sandwich. The only reason they didn't have them ready today was that they were late preparing them. Macaron stores are starting to pop up more and more in the city. This one is a welcome addition to East Liberty. Located on Penn Ave near Target metered street parking is available on Penn or on one of the off streets.

The flavors were balanced, the pastry was buttery and delicate, and they looked as good as they tasted. The total came to $50.65, which feels pretty standard for a French bakery once you understand the baseline is a bit higher than your typical American dessert spot. For the quality, it's well worth it. Consistently great, reliably tasty, and perfect for special occasions or whenever you want to treat yourself. The staff is friendly. The croissants were great when you lightly air fry/toast them if you don't eat them right away. In Lawrenceville, it's a small location with a couple of outdoor seating but none inside. However, it is a chain so you might have one in your little area. My only thing is that the pistachio eclair is very sweet (so if you don't have a sweet tooth, maybe I'd go for another subtler dessert). I saw they have a deal where you can get a baguette, sandwich, and drink for $7. Good deal imo considering the quality of their bread, and it's a good excuse to buy a sweet treat with it!
