My device was running warm, and the fans would kick on after very minimal use. After running three different types of scans, checking the system information, etc., Bonom opened up my laptop and discovered the issue. The fans were completely clogged with an astonishing amount of my dog's hair. It was both amazing and disgusting to see the true power of the fans--the hair had been sucked up from leaving my laptop on my bed. Yelp, please learn from my shameful experience and don't leave your laptop on your bed for many reasons--it really does need to be left on a table. Bonom blasted it out with a special air hose, and now it's functioning like a normal, non-dog-hair-clogged laptop should. Hooray! While I was in the shop, three other customers came in. Bonom and his associate went above and beyond to help all of us. I saw them assisting one woman who was having an iCloud issue that Apple absolutely could and should have helped her with, but she was here because of the customer support and patience you'll get at Marin Computer Repair. Bonom didn't charge me for his assistance and was very much not upselling the other women I saw him help, which is really decent of him. In situations with cars, computers, or basically anything with a lot of hardware and software involved, I've often felt and been taken advantage of as a young female customer. That is never the case here, which is why I recommend them over anyone else.

Faced with a time crunch, I looked on Yelp and luckily came across the many good reviews for Ryan at CC&R in the Outer Sunset. In addition to building custom computers, Ryan also does hardware repairs and fixes programming issues. Ryan was able to quickly accept my laptop at 8pm, and spent the night and the next day diagnosing and fixing the problem. His hours are flexible and he doesn't drag out his work over several days. I was very impressed at the speed with which he was able to work on things, and the completeness of his work. In addition to fixing a software bug issue, he did a diagnosis of the health of my drives, my virus software, and recommended a switch to a free program, which he did for me. The cost of his help, considering the level of attention and speed, was quite fair. It should be noted that Ryan is a local college student. I'm quite happy to be helping someone who is working his way through school. I appreciated his help so much that I created a Yelp account just to leave a good review. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
