If you love mac-and-cheese, this will satisfy your craving with a twist. Their prices are a little higher than expected, so we purchased the "mac flight" option-- 3 for $19.99. If you consider this option, select to dine-in, as the portion will be better than the to-go ones. Prep and cook times did take a while and we were the only ones there. If you love chili cheese fries, theirs are delicious-- not your usual chili!

It has been a running joke between my husband and I that this restaurant would never open. We lived in the building for 3 years and in that time they were always under construction so we really didn't know if it was going to work out. We moved out recently and it seemed like right when we left, they finally opened! Of course, now we HAD to go check it out. We came in today during their grand opening and I have to say I was really impressed. The atmosphere was really nice, the artwork/decor on the walls were inviting, and I liked that we have a view into the kitchen. I ordered the Tuscan Chicken Mac and my husband got the Buffalo Chicken Mac. We also shared an order of the Mac-Ting which was essentially their take on poutine. My first impression of the mac was that the portions were huge! Definitely would have been able to share one order with someone else. Their prices do reflect their portion sizes, so while I felt like it was a little pricey I do feel like you are getting plenty of food for it. I really enjoyed the mac though. Both mine and my husbands were delicious! The wood oven leaves the tops bubbling and crispy while the mac underneath is super creamy and decadent. The Mac-ting was pretty good too! Next time, I definitely want to try the meatball mac or just the normal mac. I also think it's really great that they have vegan options and have their own house made vegan cheese sauce. Definitely something that I will want to try in the future. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at mac shack today! The staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. I recommend coming when you're good and hungry because you will have plenty to eat! I hope mac shack gets plenty of business now that it's open because I think it's a really great addition to the Brady street food scene.

Finally open! I have been waiting for quite some time and I was not disappointed. I consider myself a Mac head, like a crack head but for Mac. I ordered a 3 LIL COWS to try more flavors, I did get it to go but it didn't seem to impart the dishes. The three pastas I tried were, Tuscan Mac, Meatball Mac, and the Greek Freak. Tuscan was my favorite, the meatball was very creamy and the Greek was a little rich for my liking. Definitely enough food for 2-3 people. Overall great atmosphere and great food. I look forward to seeing how they grow in the coming years.

Delicious man n cheese in so many varieties! Including vegan and gluten-free. I'm here on business and ate here two days in a row. The staff is also super friendly and helpful.

Ordered Mac Shack on Uber eats tonight and we were utterly disappointed. I got the vegan Buffalo Mac and my girlfriend got the Tuscan. The noodles were dry and cold by the time they arrived (and they were early according to the app). The Buffalo cauli in my Mac was soggy and fell apart on the fork. Overall the food had no flavor. It actually made my girlfriend nauseous. Would not reccommend

    Elote Mac

I have ordered from here several times through DoorDash. If you have not tried the elote Mac or the Buffalo chicken Mac, you are missing out. Can't decide? They have a flight option for 3 macs but in smaller portions. My food always arrives hot and fresh.

Do not place an online order through the website. It will not go through. Call instead. They keep saying they have wifi issues.

Excellent Lake Perch for Friday Fish Fry!…read more Combine excellent fare w good bartop energy and great service (Daniel) it adds up to 5-Stars. This place is not a secret as packed busy on a Friday early afternoon. The regulars were welcoming and fun. I had to have my Lake Perch fix and Swingin' Door delivered. The perch was fresh and lightly breaded. I tend to overdo it when in Wisco and had a clam chowder as a starter. The GF had the Rueben which also served as breckie snack the next day. I surprisingly don't have many options in my "MKE - Fish Fry" collection that are near downtown, but Swinging Door Exchange was one of them. I was pressed for time, so I placed a to go order rather than dining in. I got the combo fish fry (two pieces of cod, two pieces of perch, and three fried shrimp) with potato pancakes. I was also very easily talked into the half rack rib appetizer. The ribs were good, even though I prefer sauce that's more sweet and smokey. Their sauce was on the tangy side with a tease of spice that really only became noticeable when the majority of the half rack was gone. If I were in the mood for ribs as my main meal, I'd consider getting theirs as an entree. The two potato pancakes weren't homemade; instead, they were premade hash brown patties that some other restaurants also serve with their fish frys. These were perfectly acceptable in lieu of homemade pancakes. The cod tasted great, but the breading didn't hold up very well. Either the fish itself was too wet or the two block walk back to my car allowed for condensation to wreck it or possibly both. The perch was not yellow lake perch but probably something like pike perch. Even though both kinds of fish and the shrimp were all good sized portions, $29 feels like a lot. I wouldn't say no to it, though, if I were dining in next time and avoid the extra cost of their takeout fee. Shout-out to the bartenders working that night. The bar area was absolutely packed, but both of the ones I talked to about placing my order were friendly and helpful even with being super busy.
