Throughout the whole day, she was full of laughter, smiles and made everyone look and feel beautiful. Something really special was that Jess helped me to coordinate an amazing surprise for all my guests. She and Robin returned after my ceremony and in between our ceremony and grand entrance we were able to chop off about a foot of my hair. It was so awesome to have such a surprising moment, and everyone was shocked. She truly made me feel so beautiful if I had to do it all over again, I would choose Jess every time.

My sister visited the Makeup Bar for my baby shower and here are her thoughts:…read more "When I arrived, my markup artist was waiting for me and she was super inviting. She immediately asked what type of look I was wanting, what my normal makeup routine was, and the reason for the appointment/what event I was going to (sister's baby shower). They also asked what time the baby shower was so that they knew how long lasting the makeup needed to be. She said that the look she gave me could have been more glam, but she toned it down to be careful not to give me a look that would overshadow my sister. I thought that was really cool. Some things that I really liked: 1. She explained what she was doing as she did it, and if I had any questions, she went into detail about her technique. 2. I could tell everything was very clean and sanitary. 3. She asked about my skin type so that the makeup could feel as good as possible. I'm typically very dry skinned so I appreciated that! 4. She kept asking me throughout the appointment if I was liking what I was seeing. 5. Very encouraging and complementary throughout the appointment. 6. Great music. 7. Asked me about my outfit to make sure the makeup didn't clash. 8. Lashes were custom fit, and no pain or itchiness during application. Overall, great experience and would recommend for any event!" **photos taken 6 hours after makeup application and in direct sunlight. Still looks great!**

Paid deposit, then months of silence. My fiancée and I…read morebooked The Makeup Bar (Rocklin) in July 2025 for our mid-2026 wedding and paid just under $3,000 upfront. Since then, communication has effectively stopped. For the past ~2 months (approaching 3) we've received no responses to multiple emails and voicemail messages, despite repeated attempts to confirm details and next steps for our wedding date. At this point we have no clear confirmation that services will be provided and multiple links on their website are broken. The contract we received focuses heavily on client payment requirements, but does not clearly explain what happens if the vendor fails to deliver or becomes unreachable, which has made this especially stressful while planning a wedding. I wanted to share this so other couples factor in the current lack of communication before booking. On a side note, it appears as though their business license has been suspended for tax issues.

From the moment we met her for my trial, we knew that we had found a fabulous makeup artist - and all around great person! Leslie is so talented, and she really listens to what you have to say. I've never liked the way makeup artists do my makeup - it's always too much, or doesn't look like me, and I end up wiping it off. Leslie made me look like a prettier version of myself! Very natural, totally bridal, and the best part - IT. STAYED. PUT. I'm a big cryer, and my makeup was still perfectly in place at the end of a long day and night of crying, dancing, and hugging guests. She also threw in a little touch-up kit that my bridesmaids and I SO appreciated long after she had left. Finally, her personality. My wedding planner had advised me to pick hair & makeup professionals who would be relaxing to be around on the big day. Leslie (and her colleague Courtney, who did all the hair) was just an absolute pleasure to hang out with all morning. She is calm, friendly, funny, and kind - a true asset when you're buzzing from all the energy and emotion of the day. Book Leslie now - you won't be disappointed!

From our first warm and friendly phone call to the last curl she put in my hair on our wedding day, Lea's kindness, talent, and professionalism have blown me away. I never thought my hair could look so stunning. Lea is not only a great artist but a wonderful person. She is easy to talk to and so sweet. Lea brought exactly the vibes I wanted in our getting-ready suite AND kept us on schedule! That is no easy feat. The planning process from 2,000 miles away was definitely more than I originally anticipated when I decided to get married in Lake Tahoe. From the moment I first interacted with Lea she made it clear that I could have one less thing to worry about with regards to my hair & makeup. Not only did she listen intently, she gave me honest feedback and was able to reassure me in that planning process. Her personality is so bubbly and calming and you can tell that she is a genuinely happy person who loves making people feel beautiful. I ended up texting her ONE day before that my flower girls had changed their mind and now really wanted their hair done. No problem for Lea- not only did she accommodate this request last minute, but she handled their individual requests with such care that they and their mamma were all thrilled with the results. On my wedding day it rained off and on the ENTIRE day, and during the ceremony it literally started dumping and took me a couple minutes to secure an umbrella. Despite the weather, and my being outside for probably a total of 6 hours that day, my hair and makeup held flawlessly. I really don't remember giving her any directions for my make up other than "natural glam" and I have never ever in my entire life felt so beautiful. It was me- 100% - with an elegant touch. I can't really say enough. Weddings are emotional always, and my own personal journey was full of SO many feelings and Lea handled us all with such care and grace and really pulled it off. I have never felt so beautiful and am truly amazed that someone who was a "stranger" to me before hand was able to execute EXACTLY what was in my head. I really loved every moment!

Her studio is a convenient space to change. She's incredibly cleanly with using new Wands and makeup tools when applying makeup. She's efficient and creative - I have very short fine hair and she managed to make a beautiful low hanging bun that I loved. She even designed a new bindi for me on the spot by combining two of them together (took the beading jewel off of one bindi to add to a pink plain bindi that matched my outfit). She's friendly and she's responsive. I was self conscious about my looks after some weight gain and the 100 F heat wave, but that was unnecessary since the makeup stayed on the whole night and I received so many compliments and felt like a million bucks. Lavender Salon was everything we could have hoped for in a hair and makeup team! From the moment we…read morestepped in for our makeup trial, we knew we were in the best hands with Jess and Lindsey. Their talent and kindness are truly unmatched. We loved their work so much that we booked them for both our engagement shoot and our wedding day!* Jess and Lindsey listened carefully to our needs and concerns, and then executed everything flawlessly. Jess, in particular, worked wonders on my skin, which was struggling with a breakout and dryness both times. By the time she was done, my complexion looked smooth, radiant, and natural--I felt like the best version of myself without feeling overdone. Lindsey was equally thoughtful with my wife's hair. She took special care to achieve the perfect look, even bringing her own personal curling iron (that had belonged to her mother!) to create the ideal curl size for my wife's short hair. On the wedding day, they even made my mom, who was initially a bit nervous about getting her makeup done, feel so comfortable that she was all smiles by the time she left the chair. Scheduling everything with Sheila at Lavender Salon was a breeze--she was incredibly responsive and helpful in coordinating our day-of schedule. We can't recommend Lavender Salon enough. They not only made us look and feel beautiful but made the whole experience so enjoyable and stress-free.
