Great service fixed my vehicle, and awesome service. My car is still doing great, no issues

Earlier this year I picked up a project Mini and needed it looked at. The check engine and airbag lights were on so I thought those were high on the list of things to get done. I must have googled Mini repair or something and read all the reviews before making some calls. Marc was great with communication and made the decision to bring my car here very simple. His shop is located in Waipio so it's also convenient. It's a small spot and hes kind of a one man show so I did have to wait a couple weeks to bring the car in. This isnt my daily driver so it wasnt a big deal at all. He did explain that it would cost X amount of dollars to check it out and if it's this, this or that then we could talk about further costs afterward. I signed paperwork and left the car for a couple hours. When I came back he had the car lifted and showed me exactly the problems that needed to be fixed and we went over pricing for each problem. The transparency was nice, compared to other car places that seem like they try to upsell and create more problems that turn into more cash draining out of your pockets. Marc told me straight up, it's a fun car but it's not cheap. Anyone that picks up BMW anything has got to be an enthusiast and willing to put in the cash... I knew that going in and so here I am with my money pit project! I appreciate the full honestly and even though this car is gonna cost me an arm and a leg, I'm still bringing it back to Marc. I know I have at least one more visit to go and I'll update if needed. read more

If you own a Mini or BMW and in need of a certified and professional mechanic, go see Marc. He's a one man shop owner who take pride in providing outstanding service for your car needs. I found M-Tek driving past Costco Waipio and seeing his sign on the side of the road. I was in need of a certified Mini mechanic but didn't want to pay dealers prices for repairs and maintenance. Marc has 18 years of BMW/ Mini experience! What I like about Marc is he will tell your what's wrong with you car and find the way forward to repair. He is also very transparent from the beginning to end. He will provide an estimate upfront for what needs to be done to repair your car. Also, if the job is too big, he will recommend dealer or other contact for repair. His prices are reasonable for what you get from an experience BMW/Mini mechanic! Marc is the best. He is honest and careful with your car. Marc is professional and I trust him.

Marc became a friend while taking care of my BMW. He explained things so well, especially as I had NO car care skills... he even taught me how to check my oil via text and phone when I had an emergency! He goes above and beyond car servicing, and it is such a pleasure working with him. I highly recommend him, his services and his integrity - you'll leave your car feeling reassured and return for your car feeling relief. He's thorough, explains things in detail, is up-front in pricing and kind. Always makes for a great visit (especially for CAR servicing!! - who enjoys that?) . Now, I do! read more

Marc is awesome. He has exceptional customer service and is very knowledgable with the BMW and MINI. First car he fixed: In February we brought my 2009 BMW for an emergency to fix the thermostat cause the car would just turn off in the middle of the freeway . Second car he fixed: 2002 MINI Cooper Tonight was the most peaceful drive I had since I got my car back from the Mini Dealer service (30 days later). Something happened there that broke my shocks. And also came out of that shop with a list of things needed to be done along with a bigger price list (overwhelming). -Power Steering Hose -Suspension -CV boot Broke -Break Anyways came to Marc showed him that list. Marc did better than MINI and explained to me what each part was broken and needed to be replace which (lessened the overwhelming). Of course he quoted me way better than MINI using parts he recommended would work. He does the research, gets back to me with a quote, orders my parts, and gets started on my car. He fixed all my repairs in a matter of days. **I've realized that I have an attachment to my car that I can't let go no matter how old it is. So I'm glad I've found someone who I can trust to invest my money and time in to repair it. Thank you Marc. read more

M-Tek Auto Care - Little tricky to find. But well worth it. - Auto Repair Near Me - Waipahu, Hawaii

Brought my 2009 335i for some basic upkeep service (oil change, service reset, brake flush) and by the amount of time Marc spent talking to me, going over it, and caring for my vehicle you'd think I was personally going in for quadruple bypass surgery. Marc is an excellent technician who takes time explaining the process of what he will be doing to the car. He only uses genuine parts unless you specifically request he doesn't. He also won't try and do a job that he isn't qualified to do and will actually recommend other shops or the dealer if they have the specialized equipment. I found my new BMW mechanic... my car shouldn't be seeing the dealer on Kapiolani again. It's worth the trip to Waipio. read more

The best ever mechanic I know and trust to fix my BMW!!! I will always go back to him when I need a mechanic for my Z4. He is always thorough with his diagnosis and gives you the best price he can. The job he did on my Z4 was amazing it drove smoother and better considering I bought it used. He kept me posted step by step on what he was doing and showed me all the parts he was changing and even showed me my car taken apart to reassure me he was doing the best job he possible. Thank you M-Tek!!!! read more

Man let me start with this. The shop is clean and tidy. Exactly like how it was the first time I've been to his shop in 2016. Several years later, Marc has not lost his touch with Mini Coopers! My 18 year old Cooper S had a faulty fuse/relay somewhere that was preventing the injectors to squirt fuel, hence it cranks but it doesn't start. Marc found which specific fuse/relay and replaced it. Problem fixed! Car fires right up and has been since. Also, the car developed a parasitic drain which causes my battery to run flat every 24 hours of not driving the car. Marc found which circuit the parasitic drain is coming. From and taught me how to get around it! Just shows how finicky these Minis become as they age. Lol. Marc gave me an estimate on how much the diagnostics and repair will cost and he stuck to that estimate all while keeping me updated on his progress with the job. All in all I'm impressed, satisfied and will definitely recommend specialty Marc's services to my family and friends!! read more

Just moved here from Vegas and boy am I glad to find a shop like M tek Auto Care exists here on this island! Marc is a very informative, and professional mechanic. In many ways this shop is better than going to the dealership, you get a more one on one experience, way better customer service, along with the bmw knowledge! Highly recommend. Marc is by far one of the best mechanics around. Specializing in BMW and Mini this guy is the best to work on your vehicles. He treats all his customers with honesty and integrity. Will always save your old parts and show you why the part is failing or broken. He take photos and sends notes on them to make sure you know exactly what is going on with your car. He is not satisfied until he can say with confidence that it's mechanically sound. Very through even on paperwork which explains clearly what work was performed on your vehicle. Prices are very reasonable and turn around time also very reasonable. Save yourself from the headaches and high prices and service your car with M Tek. Don't take your BMW to anybody else but Marc you won't regret it. read more

Marc provides exceptional customer care and automobile service, far better than the BMW dealership. I have found him to be personable, friendly, and honest! I respect that about Marc and have told all my fellow BMW owners about M-Tek. I rarely take the time to write a review for any company, but felt it important to do so for Marc and M-Tek. He has a repeat customer in me, and I know that he would be honored to service your BMW or Mini. Thanks Marc, keep up the great work! - Marco read more

The only place to go for BMW repair. I'm a do-it-yourself home mechanic but sometimes I need a little help. Did a medium-sized job on my 5-series. Didn't end the way I planned. Called Marc and he resolved my problem. Turned out I missed something very small but critical. Marc explained the problem to me and what he did. No dealership style add-ons. Payed way less than what I thought. Definitely a mechanic I can trust. My ride will be happy knowing I have an awesome back up plan. Give him a look if you need your BMW or Mini serviced. Just understand he is only one man, so give him time. He is more than happy to help. Support small business. Aloha read more

I would give him six stars if I could. I have long done my own repairs in my cars, but sometimes a job is too big for me and Marc is the only guy in island I trust with my MINI Cooper S. What can I say that hasn't been said before with other customers? We have brought in our 2004 BMW 325i a couple of times to Marc for servicing and from the get go, we have felt 100% taken care of and 100% satisfied. Mark is very open and honest and really wants to fix the problem. His open communication, fairness in price and all around friendly personality makes it very easy to work with him. We only bring the BMW to Marc, he knows what he's doing and he doesn't give you the run around. This is how you maintain loyal customers. Professional, on time and a good diagnostician. Spotless garage and everything in it's place. Sign of an organized mind! Marc checked various numbers on my car, inside the door on those stickers as it's a Mini which has a BMW engine. He just wanted to be sure he could do what the car needed. We set a date and he fixed what had been needed for a long time. I had been waiting for another place and just got excuse after excuse so I moved on. Glad I did. I will be taking my car to Marc (M-Tek) now. read more

Marc is a true and honest professional. He is fair and does not take advantage of the customer. I truly appreciate that, because I do not even pretend to know anything about cars and what makes them tick. I have been going to Marc for sometime now, and I travel from town to his shop in Waipio because he has great customer service and he knows that I am very particular. He will listen to the concerns I have regarding my car, he then will do a thorough inspection to find the problem. Marc does give an accurate estimate. If something else should come up and if the price may increase, he will call to let me know first and to get a confirmation if i want to proceed then. So far he has finished the repairs in a timely manner. Overall I am happy with his service and his shop is clean and easy to find. read more

First off let me start by saying Marc is an exceptional mechanic but more so and awesome human being. Rarely do you meet a mechanic who's honest and will bend over backwards for you. After dealing with Marc you not only walk away with the feeling that you have met a great mechanic but also a friend. I called Marc on a Thursday afternoon regarding my BMW 750 which had broken down on me the prior week. Gave him a description of what happened and read the error messages off the dash. He was a bit hesitant to accept the job because he normally doesn't work with 7 series as he explained. Rather than completely turning me away he went out of his way and drove to my house to take a look at it. Who does that right? He didn't want me to waste a tow to his shop just in case he couldn't do it. While at my home he determined that my belt broke and quoted me for $300. But warned me that the price may go up as he gets further into the job. Marc was courteous and gave me a call each step of the way with every part that needed replacement. At one point offered to just charge me for parts and not service. "Again who does that?" As the list of things that needed to be replaced grew. That just goes to show his generosity he shows his clients. After all was said and done the final price came out to be a little over $1700 which was lower than what I expected considering all the parts that were replaced. On the day my car was ready for pick up, Marc accommodated me and stayed open after normal business hours and waited for me to get done from work. Now that service! That's hard to come by these days. FYI, it's been over a week and the car runs great! He even called just to see how my car was doing and how I was doing. I would definitely recommend anyone with a BMW or Mini Cooper to give MTek a try. Mahalo Marc for your hard work and exceptional service. Jeff read more

Marc over the past couple months has showed that he is not only a customer-first individual, but someone I call a friend after he has helped me out with my BMW on two separate occasions. One Sunday, I was driving in downtown Honolulu when my BMW began to lose power steering, air conditioner, and a battery light showed up on my dash. I didn't have a clue where to go on a Sunday afternoon, because I didn't know who would be open. I was able to pull up M-Tek Auto Care on Yelp and realized that this was close enough to my home that I could drop my car off and still get home. Once I arrived Marc was still working that day and he assisted me in getting me a quote and able to fit me in the next day and got me back on the road. He explains things very thoroughly, and leaves you with a great feeling of knowing that the advice he gives you is honest and from a place of care, not just trying to "Sell you Something". He goes above and beyond and kept me up to date with pictures and status updates throughout my service. I highly recommend him and highly fond of the integrity he shows allowing me to know that he has my best interest at heart. He offers great up front pricing and is straightforward with what needs to get done. Whatever your car servicing needs are, let Marc be the first person that comes to mind to contact, knowing you will feel at ease and free of the stress that can come with car upkeep. read more

Thx Marc for changing my parts what needed to be done with my 2001 325i BMW. You as a person is great and somewhat too professional lol... As soon as i seen your clean shop i already knew the cost of my repairs would be sky high.. My car runs way smoother and myself having more knowledge of what other future work needs to be done. Only reason why i gave you 3 stars instead of 5 stars is your price hike. I told you from the beginning that $500 is my budget for these minor repairs (labor only, since you was gracious enough to use the parts i have bought online). Bill came out to $835, which i didn't expect. With diagnostic and degreasing charges plus charging me labor for thermostat replacement which was never done due to unforeseen circumstances, resulted in more labor charges. I know you are very knowledgeable on BMW's, but i do know few things about this car too since i read DIY blogs online.. I don't know, but maybe its me but $835 in labor cost only with the hardest part to replace was the belts and valve gasket seems to me pretty steep. $110/hr labor charge should be less that $90. First impressions are always the most important Marc and to be honest i wasn't impressed. I work hard for my $$$, and i know you do to, but maybe you have to be more conservative when it comes to cost.. Mahalo for the work you done with my BMW. read more

Marc is a great guy! Very knowledgeable, and kind!! His not out to get all your money like some of these car dealerships or mechanics, his reasonable and will help you the best he can. I'm sorry. This is just my opinion. Marc is a great guy and all but if I pay money for anything, I expect work to be done. Oil change was great until he added on a reset charge ($30) without letting me know for my safety check (which isn't necessary). I let that pass and went back to him to change a left headlight bulb (angel eyes bulb). He gave me a set price at $150. I then agreed. While he was working on my car, he gives me a call later that day stating that he would have to charge me $250 - $300 because the headlight were after market and the bulb would cost $150. I said wow that's a big increase. What's funny is that I have never changed the cars headlights at all. While being disappointed, I just told him to not do it. Then he says he spent over an hour on the car and he charges me a $110 diagnostic check. An hour just to check a bulb even though I had told him which bulb went out? So my father just picks up the car, pays him the $110. Then he states that i wouldnt pass safety check (even though i passed safety this year). I wouldved done something else with that $110. What a waste of time and money. Don't get me wrong. Marc is a nice guy and very knowledgeable but this was bad bussiness. read more
