Brought my 2004 Lexus RX in to evaluate why the AC was not cooling properly. After inspecting and evaluating the system Garrick was unable to find any obvious refrigerant leak. He suggested a simple recharge to determine if their might be a slow leak. After recharging the system and a bit more evaluation he says, "no charge" Even if the recharge does not hold over time, you can count on Eddie's as my first stop for auto repairs. This is my trusted go to place. It should be named Honest Eddie's Auto Repair! The 2 brother repair team Garrick & Brad are super nice, honest, up front guys. More importantly, excellant mechanics, who really care about their customers & our cars. Very friendly, professional, thorough, knowledgeable, & more. All that you would hope for in someone who is taking care of something that takes care of you on a daily basis. The cherry on top is that they give you top quality work & customer service at a wallet friendly, honest price! They are also patiently determined. There are many shops that won't take older vehicles. My "baby" is a 94 SR5 (manual trans) 4Runner. Not so easy to find OE parts for it. My 1st visit, last year, Garrick worked really hard hunting for a speedometer/odometer (& another related part) to replace my broken one. He managed to find a nice brand new one. I still remember his face when he gave me the news! It was priceless & gave me much joy! Depite staying mostly home using delivery & doing curbside pick ups w/my honey's car this past pandemic year, (being a double at risk person) Car Registration & Safety Check forced me out. This last repair was for a bad idlerarm the tire mechanic @ Costco warned me about. The next appointment I am about to make is to replace the axle & shocks. Following that, will be to address a small oil leak before it can become something worse. That one will need time as Garrick will need to fabricate new hoses for what are now obsolete ones. I have total faith in, & appreciation for him. His determination to do a really great job in caring for my baby has been such a blessing & has quelled so much of my anxiety for the health of my car , & our safety when driving it. It's hard to find a good mechanic/auto shop that focuses on honesty and quality work vs making as much money from a customer as possible. Glad I used Yelp and found Eddie's Auto Repair. My car had some AC issues. AC blowing warm air for a few weeks. A family friend checked it out first. He said it was a possible leak underneath the dashboard. It was out of his comfort zone to fix. I thought about previous bad experiences with using the dealerships on the mainland and decided to use a local shop. I brought the car to Eddie's Auto. They have a clean, organized shop. ASE certs on display. Was welcomed by Garrick when I entered the office. I told Garrick what was wrong with my car. He explained what could be the problem and gave me an estimate/timeline if it was a small issue or worse case scenario- replacing the Evaporator. He also showed me a quick video clip on how Car ACs work. I took band and not Auto Mech class in High School so the vid was well appreciated. We scheduled a return visit a few days later to do some leak testing. He wanted to verify it was a leak under the dashboard vs under the hood. Leak testing- he showed me how it works and walked me through on what we were looking for. You could smell the test air con fluid. It was definitely an air leak under the dash. He gave me an estimate and we scheduled the under the dashboard repairs. He explained to me about the parts he will use and the hourly labor costs. While the repairs were getting done he kept me in the loops and sent me pictures of his progress. He was ahead of schedule so I had him take a look at the brakes as well. Loud squeaks. Sent me an estimate on that as well and called when the car was ready. When I picked up the Jeep he showed me the parts that were replaced- Evap and worn out brakes/rotor. Garrick explained what he worked on and test drove the car. He also made sure I was satisfied with the fixes. AC was nice and COLD. Brakes without the loud squeaking. Great customer service. Highly recommend using Eddie's Auto. I trust this auto repair shop and will continue to bring my car here. read more

Searched on yelp for a garage that could help me with a quick fix. All the reviews were on point! I sent a quote request and got a reply in 1/2 hour on the estimate and to come by the garage @ 9am the next day. I pull up to the garage and Brad greets me while working on another car. First found out about Eddie's from my girlfriend, when her car broke down in town and her dad had it towed all the way to Aiea. I was like, wow, these guys must be worth it to him. They fixed the car right up in a couple hours, even though it was past their work hours. They don't like to hold cars overnight and will stay late if they need to. What an amazing work ethic. I've now come back for my own car on two occasions, once for a safety check and again for an AC repair. My 2016 Corolla suddenly started to blow hot air, and they had it figured out in an hour. By the way, if you have a current generation corolla, be wary of the original compressor dying on you. I have a friend with a 2015 corolla that had the exact same part failure. So anyway, Garrick sends me two quotes, one for a genuine Toyota compressor replacement and one for an aftermarket replacement ($300 less). I call back and ask what Garrick would recommend, especially since it was a genuine part that failed in the first place. Garrick went above and beyond, and did some research for me on the part history. He found that the price was way lower than expected, which indicates that Toyota is aware of consumer problems and discount the part to help replacement costs. He also found that the current part number had gone through iterations, meaning that improvements were most likely made on the original compressor. It was easy to schedule, and I took my car in at 9am. It was ready by 1:30pm, which was a lot faster than I expected! Now, time will tell if Toyota has remedied their parts. Both Brad and Garrick are all smiles, friendly and courteous the moment you get there. In initial inspection, Brad was happy to walk me through his methods of diagnosis for the AC system, and when I had concerns about the time it would take to repair, he gave me a breakdown of the process and associated times in layman's terms. Overall, my experiences have been pleasant, educational, and affordable. read more

Believe the hype! Garrick and Brad are so kind, honest and dedicated to customer service. As a woman who is clueless about cars, I worry about getting ripped off when it comes to car repairs. I was having car issues and was worried that if I put it off any longer, if end up getting stuck on the road with my kids. After reading the reviews, I had my heart set on Eddie's. When I called, they were incredibly kind and courteous, but reluctant to look okay my car because they were so busy already. Thankfully, they were kind enough to take me that same day. Based on the information given to me from a roadside service person, I shared what the suspected issue was. The problem turned out to be a much easier and cheaper fix than what I thought it would be! These guys are great. I had a sound coming from my car that Nissan couldn't figure out. So I took it to them. He took it for a drive and came back opened up the hood and pointed to the problem. They took it apart and sure enough, one of the blots was stripped. They replaced it and bam! No more noise. They told me some things that they were concerned about and some things for me to look for as it was nearing the end of its life, but no hard sell like Nissan and other shops I've been to in the past. I'm so glad I found this place on Yelp! Needed to go to a repair shop that would take our mechanical breakdown through geico insurance and Garrick was really awesome with helping us out! I went to another place in Kalihi and got a free estimate for our AC but, they didn't take the insurance. So, I called Garrick and explained the situation and he scheduled me an appointment to come in. He allowed us to bring in our car after we were done with work and said he would work with geico on getting the compressor covered. Awesome! He ended up calling my husband the next morning saying that it actually wasn't the compressor and that the system was just over charged which was why sometimes the AC worked and other times it didn't. He didn't want us to have to pay our deductible to make a change out when nothing was really wrong. Which the other shop said it was the compressor but, Garrick took a look further into it. He ended up depressurizing the system and he didn't even charge us. I mean... what an honest guy. We're thankful that he was so helpful. He wanted to make sure that we didn't end up without a car for long. I'd highly recommend this place. He did say that he uses expensive parts which would be a fight with the insurance companies.
